MCFLY star DOUGIE POYNTER has checked into a rehabilitation centre as he struggles to move on following his split from FRANKIE SANDFORD.
The singer’s on/off relationship with The Saturdays star came to an end in November (10), marking their second split in less than a year.
And now Poynter has reportedly entered Britain’s The Priory clinic for a month to overcome his personal issues.
McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher has confirmed his pal is in rehab, writing on his Twitter.com page, "Obviously you’re all reading rumours about Dougie. Please don’t worry. We don’t know what the tabloids will say tomorrow but he is in rehab. He’s just been having a tough time lately and needed a few weeks rest so he’s fighting fit and ready to slap that bass for you on tour." Speaking about his heartache before he entered rehab, Poynter told Britain’s Daily Mirror, "It’s c**p, but what makes it worse is getting constant reminders. When it’s a regular person, it’s bad enough because you hear their name once in a while, or your mutual friends see them. But I see her bl**dy everywhere! In magazines, on TV, on the radio. It’s horrible!"

British model SOPHIE DAHL and husband JAMIE CULLUM have welcomed their first child, daughter LYRA.
The beauty, granddaughter of beloved author Roald Dahl, and the jazz singer married last year (10) and announced they were to be parents in September (10).
Dahl’s spokesperson has now announced the model gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday (02Mar11).
The representative says, "Their daughter Lyra was born on March 2. The couple will not be releasing any further information at this time."

MAD MEN star JOHN SLATTERY is convinced he’s destined to turn a favourite book into a movie - after finding himself sitting next to the guy who owns the film rights at a concert.
The actor wanted to adapt the book for the big screen a decade ago and almost landed a production deal, before the project fell apart.
He’d largely forgotten about it until a chance meeting with the woman who was going to help him produce the film prompted him to take another look at his screenplay.
He adds, "I went to a concert and I ended up sitting next to a guy who controlled the rights to the movie and he asked me if I wanted it after years of trying to get it.
"I’m actually going to do that and I’ve since written it. So you go, ‘Maybe this was the next thing I was meant to do.’ "I’ve directed a couple of episodes of Mad Men in an effort to go into that. Signs are hard to ignore. We’re still working on the rights but it’s gonna happen, I think." Ironically, in his new movie The Adjustment Bureau, Slattery plays the leader of a team of sinister destiny fixers.

Moviemaker MICHAEL BAY is directing the new Victoria’s Secret lingerie commercial onboard a "haunted" ship.
The Transformers director staged the shoot in the creepy cabins on the Queen Mary, which is anchored in Long Beach, California, and model Chanel Iman is convinced she has seen a ghost or two.
She says, "I was actually the first one here and the call time was at 5.30 (in the morning), and the lady’s (Bay’s assistant) like, ‘You know it’s haunted. Do I know it’s haunted?’ And she walked me into our dressing room and I’m like, ‘I know you’re not leaving me alone’.
"I was in there literally 10 minutes and I promise you I saw a ghost. I saw a couple of ghosts."

The 12-year-old-star of Sunday’s (27Feb11) Oscar-winning short documentary STRANGERS NO MORE is facing deportation from Israel.
Esther Aikpehae is among the 120 students at the school featured in Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon’s film who have been asked to leave the country because they don’t have Jewish roots.
The youngster’s father, who is South African, is in Israel illegally, and they’re the victims of a government campaign to purge areas of immigrants.
Aikpehae arrived in Israel with her father in 2007 after her mother was killed by gangs in her homeland. Her father told the Israeli authorities it was too dangerous for them to return home.
And now the young actress does not want to leave the country she knows as home, telling Reuters, "I feel African-Israeli, not just Israeli. I speak the language, I’ve gotten used to it here." But Israel’s Interior Minister Eli Yishai insists the Jewish state has to protect native Israelis and legal immigrants.
He says, "It’s my personal mission to preserve the Jewish majority in Israel."

British actor BILL NIGHY fractured his finger while filming upcoming movie CHALET GIRL - after accidentally trapping his hand in the door of his hotel room’s mini-bar.
The Love Actually star is appearing alongside Ed Westwick and Sophia Bush in the alpine romantic comedy.
And Nighy was left injured in between shoots when he injured his finger while trying to access the refrigerator in his room.
He tells Britain’s Sunday Express, "I caught my hand in the door of the mini-bar at my hotel." Nighy already suffers from a condition which causes one of his fingers to be permanently bent inwards.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE star RUBINA ALI has confirmed her family home has burnt down during a fire in Mumbai, India, destroying awards she earned for her role in the 2008 film.
The actress was forced to flee the Garib Nagar slum as the blaze, which caused 21 people to be injured and left 2,000 homeless, broke out on Friday (04Mar11).
Now Ali’s father has opened up about the scare, saying, "We just grabbed what we could and dashed out. The fire spread so fast we couldn’t get back in." And Ali has been left devastated after the flames destroyed all the awards and newspaper clippings she had saved from her role in the blockbuster: "I have lost everything, including books and precious belongings like awards, photographs, newspaper clippings and memorabilia from the success of the film. We spent the entire night at the railway station. So far nobody has come to help us." Ali and her family are currently waiting to move into a new apartment, which is being paid for by the film’s director Danny Boyle.

Actress SAMANTHA MORTON has been left devastated after learning the step-father she has been attempting to track down died four years ago.
The Oscar-nominee published a heart-felt letter in British magazine Port this week (beg28Feb11) appealing for help contacting her step-father, referred to only as "Frank", but believed to be her mother’s second husband, Frank Braidwood.
Morton, who spent much of her youth in and out of foster care, reveals her mum, Pamela, told her Frank had died, and when she found out that was untrue, she became determined to find him and hired a private detective to help.
In the letter, addressed to Frank, Morton wrote, "I miss you so much it hurts and I have to be strong. Really strong… I am imagining everything is well and that you are angry and don’t want to speak with me and that is why you haven’t tried to contact me in all these years. I said some very hurtful things when we last spoke. I am sorry… I want you to know that I forgive you. Forgive you for everything. I wish you could meet my family - I know you would be so proud of me." Reporters for Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper successfully traced Braidwood’s son, also named Frank, who revealed his father died in 2007 after contracting the deadly MRSA virus while in hospital receiving treatment for prostate cancer.
The younger Braidwood claimed he had attempted to contact Morton to inform her of Frank’s passing, but could not reach her.
He tells the publication, "I tried to contact Samantha about the funeral, but I couldn’t get a message to her through Facebook. I wanted her to know and be there." The publication reports Morton has been told the sad news, but declined to comment.

Film director GUY RITCHIE is to be a dad again - his girlfriend JACQUI AINSLEY is pregnant, according to a U.K. report.
The Sherlock Holmes moviemaker, who split from Madonna in 2008, started dating Ainsley early last year (10).
Ritchie, who is already father to Madonna’s 10-year-old son Rocco and adopted son David, six, will welcome a new baby in September (11), reports Britain’s News of the World.
A source tells the publication, "They have been keen to start a family for a while now. They’re absolutely made up. We expect to hear wedding bells next year… Jacqui was crying with joy when she found out she’s pregnant."

SEAN PENN has spoken out about CHARLIE SHEEN’s decision to join his aid efforts in Haiti, insisting the troubled actor’s "energies, intelligence and passion" will be a great help.
Sheen has been a regular in the headlines over the last few weeks as he battles personal and professional problems and he recently revealed he is set to put his raised profile to good use by jetting to the Caribbean nation on a humanitarian mission with Penn.

Bosses at America’s Sirius XM are launching Tiger Blood Radio on Saturday (05Mar11) to deal with breaking news about CHARLIE SHEEN.
The initiative comes after Sheen appeared on Howard Stern’s Sirius show this past week (beg28Feb11) and the shock jock urged the actor to put a microphone in his home so he can speak to fans over the airwaves whenever he has something to say.
The embattled TV star has been a big hit on TV and radio across America as he talks about his tumultuous personal life and professional problems, while a candid interview with Sheen earned news show 20/20 its biggest ratings in two years when it aired on Tuesday night (01Mar11).

CHARLIE SHEEN’s girlfriend has defended her "unconventional" relationship with the star, insisting she doesn’t mind sharing the actor with another live-in lover.
Sheen, who split, from wife Brooke Mueller last year (10), has been living with two women - former nanny Natalie Kenly and ex-porn star Rachel Oberlin, also known as Bree Olson - who he calls "The Goddesses".
The troubled actor invited cameras into his Los Angeles home for an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper and opened up about the trio’s unusual living arrangements, revealing, "The Goddesses rule. They rule the kingdom… We have to have two beds - we’re not amateurs, we’re all adults. It’s very smart and that way no one gets demoted to the couch." Kenly insists she is happy with the set-up, adding, "Anyone who has met Charlie says he’s the coolest guy ever. People don’t say you’re the coolest guy in the world for 20 years if it’s not true… There are a lot of unconventional relationships around and anyway, we don’t have to answer to the world. Gay used to be unconventional, getting divorced used to be unconventional." CHARLIE SHEEN has criticised officials for removing his twin sons from his care this week (beg28Feb11), insisting he is "disappointed in the system" but determined to win his custody battle with estranged wife BROOKE MUELLER.
Mueller obtained an emergency restraining order on Tuesday (01Mar11) to keep the actor away from her and their kids, Bob and Max.
The children were subsequently removed from the actor’s care and he was stripped of his custody rights.
Sheen has since insisted his former partner should be taking drug tests to prove she is fit to take care of the boys, and the Two and a Half Men star has now spoken out to criticise the legal system - insisting he has been unfairly targeted.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "As we sit here today, I don’t know where my kids are. I don’t know where the hell they are. I’m not upset, my emotions are out of it, my ego is out of it. But I am disappointed in the system. This is not the America I was raised in.
"Brooke has admitted she has relapsed and doesn’t really have a home. I can only imagine if the shoes were on the other feet I’d be in some prison in Arkansas doing 25 years to life without a trial or anything… The gloves are off. JENNIFER LOPEZ was left speechless during a taped TV appearance at The Grove in Los Angeles on Thursday night (03Mar11) - when a group of dancers suddenly performed in sync to her new single.
The singer/actress and American Idol judge was finishing off an interview for news show Extra in front of thousands of fans when her new song On the Floor was blasted out over the shopping mall’s speaker system and hundreds of ‘flashmob’ fans copied her moves from the video.
It was a stunt set up by Extra producers to wow Lopez, who could not believe what she was seeing.
After standing agape at the dance sequence, Lopez regained her composure and said, "Oh my God! That’s so crazy! I’ve got goose pimples all over my body! I love you guys, that was so awesome!" The TV segment aired in America on Friday (04Mar11).

USHER has become the latest celebrity to hand money to charity after accepting a hefty fee to appear at a concert connected to Libyan leader MUAMMAR GADDAFI.
A number of stars, including Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Nelly Furtado, have admitted being paid to sing for the dictator’s relatives.
Following the uprising in the country and controversy over Gaddafi’s refusal to stand down as leader, all three singers have promised to hand their fee to good causes.
Usher has now confirmed he was paid to appear at a 2009 New Year’s Eve party hosted by the dictator’s son, Muatassim Gaddafi, on the Caribbean island of St. Barts, and he has vowed to give the cash to charity in light of recent events.
A statement from the R&B star reads, "I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart’s event that took place on New Year’s Eve 2009. I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organisations." Usher’s representative has insisted the star has already made a donation to Amnesty International and will continue to hand cash to other human rights charities throughout the year, according to America’s ABC news.

RYAN REYNOLDS has reportedly found love with a stunning German model just three months after filing for divorce from actress SCARLETT JOHANSSON.
The Proposal star has been photographed hugging Agnes Fischer as she looks lovingly into his eyes on the set of his new film in South Africa.
Reynolds’ representatives are refusing to confirm reports the pair is dating, offering a no comment instead.

A concert by country singer EMMA JACOB ended in tragedy on Wednesday (02Mar11) after the star’s mother suffered a fatal heart attack as she watched her daughter on stage.
The Julianna hitmaker was performing at a nightclub in Nashville, Tennessee as part of the Country Radio Seminar, when her mum Linda Chapman, fell ill in the audience.
Chapman, 55, suffered a heart attack and died at the Cadillac Ranch venue, according to Countryaircheck.com.
A message posted on Jacob’s Facebook page reads, "Please pray for Emma and her family. Her Mom Linda passed away last night. God Bless you Linda, we will miss you! All of your thoughts, prayers and comments are greatly appreciated." No further details were available as WENN went to press.

LADY GAGA has threatened to sue the owners of an ice cream parlour in London for producing a flavour made from human breast milk, titled Baby Gaga.
Attorneys representing the singer have sent a legal letter to bosses at Icecreamists in the U.K. capital’s Covent Garden warning them to change the name of the bizarre concoction.
In the document, Gaga’s lawyers accuse store owner Matt O’Connor of riding on the pop star’s "coattails" to promote a product which is "deliberately provocative and, to many people, nausea-inducing." The letter adds, "The references you are making to Lady Gaga are thus clearly deliberate and intended to take advantage of her reputation and good will… Associating the Lady Gaga mark with a food product which may be unsafe for human consumption (owing to the risk of it carrying such viruses as hepatitis) is also highly detrimental." However, O’Connor insists he has been unfairly targeted, calling the legal threat "preposterous and outrageous".
He tells Britain’s Evening Standard, "We think this is very unnecessary, the whole thing will be over by next week, but we are prepared to fight this in court… This is a David versus Goliath battle I’m convinced we will eventually win. The world’s biggest superstar has taken umbrage with the world’s smallest ice-cream parlour. For Lady Gaga to accuse us of stealing her image is laughable when you consider how much she has borrowed from popular culture to create her look and music. She also seems to have forgotten that since the dawn of time the word gaga has been one of the first discernible phrases to come from a baby’s mouth. This is why we chose the name.
"As for her assertion that our product is distasteful, perhaps she should reflect on her blood-spurting performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, or the fact she wears clothes fabricated from the flesh of dead animals. We have applied to register the trademark Baby Gaga and are confident we’ll secure this."
