CYRUS POKES FUN AT LOHAN & BIEBER ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:18 am

MILEY CYRUS poked fun at her peers on U.S. comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE at the weekend (05Mar11), appearing in skits as LINDSAY LOHAN, VANESSA HUDGENS, FERGIE - and even pal JUSTIN BIEBER.
She kicked off her hosting stint on the show as Lohan in a mock Charlie Sheen chat show, which also featured series regulars Taran Killam and Fred Armisen portraying disgraced fashion designer John Galliano and Libya leader Muammar Gaddafi, respectively.
As troubled Lohan, who is facing jail time for allegedly stealing a necklace from a California jewellery store, Cyrus joked, "Things are great… the Los Angeles courthouse just gave me my own parking spot." When Sheen, portrayed by comedian Bill Hader, advertised a new product called Baby Urine, stating, "Got a drug test coming up? Reach for some nice, clean Baby Urine," Cyrus, as Lohan, said, "Can I get some of that?" But the singer/actress got the biggest laughs when she portrayed Bieber on another chat show skit, which was fronted by comedienne Vanessa Bayer, who regularly portrays the former Hannah Montana star on SNL.
Cyrus used her opening monologue on the show to address the controversies she has been linked to in a comedy song.
Introducing the ditty, she said, "I’m mostly a white swan kinda girl but I’ve had a few black swan moments. You know I’ve never been arrested or anything. My scandals are more like, ‘Miley and some girl were chewing on the same Twizzler; someone took a photo and now it’s all over the Internet.’ That may upset some people and for that I’m truly sorry." She then sang, "There’s a photo of me being kissed by a dude/And (photographer) Annie Leibovitz tried to get me nude/For those of you who think that’s very crude/I’m sorry that I’m not perfect." She added, "I never stole a necklace or got a DUI…/So what you can see a little boob from the side/I’m sorry that I’m not perfect."

ADELE WOULD HAVE BEEN A TEEN MUM WITHOUT STAGE SCHOOL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:17 am

British singer ADELE is thankful she went to a performing arts school because she would have ended up as a teenage mother otherwise.
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker enrolled with The Brit School in Croydon, London, alongside other stars including Jessie J and Kate Nash, and has gone on to carve international success with her albums 19 and 21.
Adele is adamant her time at the facility inspired her to fulfil her ambitions and prevented her from getting pregnant in her teens.
She tells Britain’s News of the World, "I hate to think where I’d have ended up if I hadn’t gone to The Brit School. It’s quite inspiring to be around 700 kids who want to be something - rather than 700 kids who just wanna get pregnant so they get their own flat (apartment).
"My first school was great but I’d have a kid by now if I hadn’t left. And, as much as I’d like to have a kid, I’m not ready for one now. I remember wanting to go to (the) Sylvia Young Theatre School because Baby Spice (Emma Bunton) went there but my mum couldn’t afford it.
"I didn’t have some rich daddy who built me a studio. But I loved The Brit School. It was a bit like Fame sometimes - you get people doing their ballet stretches and singers having sing-offs."

CORNISH INJURED ON SUCKER PUNCH SET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:14 am

Actress ABBIE CORNISH was left cut and bloodied on the set of new film SUCKER PUNCH when an action sequence went awry.
The Australian star was shooting a scene in which she fights off a male bayonet attacker when she was struck in the head after mistiming a move.
She tells E! Online, "It was like this World War I rifle. This guy was coming to stab me with a bayonet, and I duck and it kills the guy behind me. And so on this one take, the timing was just a little off because it was all so close and so precisely timed that the bayonet just stuck the side of my head when I went down.
"I didn’t need stitches. I was actually saved by the metal hairclip that was in the side of my hair, because I remember when it hit I heard this, ting, like a metal-on-metal sound. But yeah, I had blood down my face. I had to clean up all the blood and keep going.
"It was awesome! We were shooting this scene all day long and it happened halfway through the day, so it was like a hit of adrenaline that I could take with me."

MARGOLYES FLASHES ON FILM SETS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:14 am

Naughty HARRY POTTER actress MIRIAM MARGOLYES has developed a saucy habit of flashing co-workers on film sets, because she’s convinced it’s the only way to cheer up grumpy stars.
The 69 year old admits she showed her bare bottom to Warren Beatty while they were working together on 1981 movie Reds in a bid to make him crack a smile.
She tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "He is grumpy. He really is. So I mooned at him." Margolyes also reveals she stripped off in front of director Martin Scorsese on the set of The Age of Innocence, adding, "I didn’t moon him, I did these instead (my breasts).
"It was a long day and we’d done the costume parade at the beginning (of the film). (Everyone was) feeling tired and a bit listless, so I just flung off my brassiere." But the actress was banned from bringing her naughty antics to the set of the Harry Potter movies, and instead her colleagues set up a ’swear box’ which she had to contribute to every time she cursed in front of her young co-stars.
She adds, "You have to be very careful with children and they made a rule that I had to give a penny or maybe a pound to the World Wildlife Fund if I swore and, really, they did very well."

LUCAS TAKING STAR WARS HELMET DESIGNER TO COURT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 am

Filmmaker GEORGE LUCAS has launched a legal battle against a British designer for allegedly breaching copyright by continuing to make and sell replica STAR WARS helmets.
Andrew Ainsworth made the original head gear for the movies and started selling the helmets to fans who wanted to wear them for fancy dress events in 2004.
Lucas sued Ainsworth for $20 million (£13.3 million) after he sold some items in America, but he lost a similar legal battle in the U.K. because a judge rejected the notion that the helmets were the equivalents of sculptures.
Now Lucas is attempting to overturn the decision by taking the case to the Supreme Court.
In a legal document obtained by Britain’s The Independent On Sunday, Lucas writes, "The court was wrong in this case and has placed the U.K. at odds with the world community and, perhaps most disturbing, the creative community." A spokesperson adds, "These works of art should receive the full protection of U.K. copyright law, just as they do in the rest of the world." And Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson has waded into the debate, backing Lucas’ fight. He states, "The U.K.’s long-standing reputation as a creative hub and a centre for film production is significantly threatened. To assert a film’s props and visuals are not the product of an artistic endeavour and therefore not worthy of copyright protections is ridiculous." But Ainsworth is adamant he should be allowed to continue: "We won in the High Court and the Appeal Court, but he (Lucas) has got so much money he can convince the Supreme Court it’s got to be done again. What he is after is to change the law, to change European law."

BAY: ‘TRANSFORMERS 2 WAS NO GOOD’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:12 am

Moviemaker MICHAEL BAY has accepted his TRANSFORMERS sequel was "c**p, insisting the 2007/2008 writers strike turned the film into a rushed mess.
Bay is back in the director’s chair for the third Transformers film, Dark of the Moon, and he insists that’s a must-see movie, whereas his last effort was not.
He tells Britain’s Empire film magazine, "We made some mistakes… When I look back at it, that was c**p. The writers’ strike was coming hard and fast. It was just terrible to do a movie where you’ve got to have a story in three weeks.
"I was prepping a movie for months where I only had 14 pages of some idea of what the movie was. It’s a BS way to make a movie." The film’s star Shia LaBeouf has agreed with his director’s comments - when asked about Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen, the actor recently said, "We got lost. We tried to get bigger. It’s what happens to sequels. It’s like, how do you top the first one? You’ve got to go bigger.
"Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie… You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn’t matter. Then it’s just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

KNIGHT AND WEST REACH SETTLEMENT OUT OF COURT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:32 pm

KANYE WEST and rap mogul MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT have reached an out-of-court settlement over a longrunning legal battle stemming from a 2005 shooting at a Florida party.
Death Row Records founder Knight demanded more than $1 million (£666,700) in damages and took West to court after the incident, in which he was shot in the leg, claiming he would not have been injured if the Stronger hitmaker had hired better security for the bash.
The case was thrown out of court in November (10) after a Miami judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to prove the shooting could have been prevented. But Knight filed new papers in December (10) appealing the decision.
Now Knight has dropped the case and the pair has reached a confidential agreement, reports AllHipHop.com.

SHEEN BACK WITH PORN STAR ‘GODDESS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:32 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN has reunited with his "goddess" girlfriend RACHEL OBERLIN after tweeting she’d left him on Friday night (04Mar11).
The troubled actor revealed the ex porn star, aka Bree Olson, had "left the building" in his post, adding, "We’re sad… Over it… Applications now being accepted!" But on Saturday (05Mar11), he told TMZ.com, "She came back, my bad, all good. Love her with the three parts of my heart." Sheen currently has two live-in girlfriends - Oberlin and nanny Natalie Kenly.
Speaking to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Kenly insists she is happy with the set-up, adding, "Anyone who has met Charlie says he’s the coolest guy ever. People don’t say you’re the coolest guy in the world for 20 years if it’s not true… There are a lot of unconventional relationships around and anyway, we don’t have to answer to the world. Gay used to be unconventional, getting divorced used to be unconventional."

SHEEN BLASTS ‘RIDICULOUS’ ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:32 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN insists he will never use support group Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) to help him beat booze as he has nothing but contempt for the "ridiculous" system.
The troubled actor was hospitalised in Los Angeles and treated for a hernia in January (11) after a wild night of partying, before checking into a rehab-at-home program to help kick his addictions.
Sheen has hit headlines over the last few weeks after launching a Twitter account and signing up for numerous interviews to talk about his tumultuous personal life, often boasting about his drug use and his love of partying.
But he is adamant he does not have a problem with booze and has given up drinking of his own accord, without the help of rehab workers or support groups such as the AA.
During an interview with Britain’s The Sun, Sheen is pictured tearing pages out of the AA handbook and then used it to light the fire in his living room, declaring, "I’m finally finding the right use for Alcoholics Anonymous." He adds, "(It’s) ridiculous. Do you say, ‘My sponsor said he’s a loser so I want to be one too.’ Or do you say, ‘No I must stay like this and continue to suck at life’? Alcoholics Anonymous? It’s about as anonymous as me. It’s the holy book of lies.
"I’m just doing things my own way. I don’t know if I will drink again. How do you turn down a perfect 1982 Petrus?" The Two and a Half Men star also reveals he smokes 40 cigarettes a day, but is convinced his tobacco habit does not have a negative effect on his health: "I smoke 40 a day and have the lungs of a non-smoker. I have no problems with my liver or kidneys. They hurt a little bit during the party but when the party stops, they’re fine. They’re like, ‘OK, we’re good for about three more of those’."

COMBS ‘SO PROUD’ OF LOPEZ ON IDOL, CAN’T WAIT TO JOIN HER ON THE SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:29 pm

SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS is set for a TV showdown with his ex-girlfriend JENNIFER LOPEZ after signing up to perform on AMERICAN IDOL.
The rapper will perform his latest single Coming Home, mentor the show’s contestants and dress them in his Sean John designs on an episode due to air next month (Apr11).
And he insists he can’t wait to spend some quality time with his former lover, who is wowing critics as a judge on the hit talent contest.
He says, "She’s just looking so good. You’ve got to give it to her for having twins and to be doing it how she’s doing it. I’m so proud of her." Combs is also a big fan of her judging skills, telling news show Access Hollywood, "The way she handled coming after (former Idol judge) Simon (Cowell)… she’s been, like, a compassionate person. She has made me cry, like, twice, and she’s looked good doing it. And she has made sense.
"She’s a nice person (and)… when you’re super nice, your emotions get the best of you. It’s good though, it’s good to see that change in the competitive shows. I think she’s very refreshing." Lopez broke down in tears on the show last week (ends25Feb11) when she had to send a favourite contestant, Chris Medina, home.

MICHAEL: ‘I DESERVED JAIL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:29 pm

Singer GEORGE MICHAEL has opened up about his recent jail stint, insisting he deserved to go behind bars for his "shameful" acts.
The former Wham! singer was jailed for eight weeks in September (10) for possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs.
Michael was previously banned from driving for two years following his 2007 conviction for driving while unfit and a year later he received an official police caution for possession of cannabis.
And now he has spoken about his time in prison, admitting he believes it’s karma for repeatedly landing in trouble.
He tells British radio host Chris Evans, "This was a hugely shameful thing to have done repeatedly. So karmically I felt like I had a bill to pay. I went to prison, I paid my bill.
"Remarkably enough, I know people must think it was a really horrific experience - it’s so much easier to take any form of punishment if you believe you actually deserve it, and I did. It wasn’t a weekend break, put it that way. I didn’t feel sorry for myself. I thought, ‘Oh my God, this place is absolutely filthy, because it was Pentonville’. I just thought, you get your head down." And Michael saw his release from jail as a new start when he was asked to sign a guitar and write down the date: "The guy said it’s the 10th of the 10th of the 10th. And I just thought ‘that’s so fitting’. It’s like the clock rolling round to the end of something, tomorrow I start again."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:29 pm

KELLY OSBOURNE has urged her mum SHARON to stop wearing her clothes to public events - because it makes the singer-turned-reality TV star feel weird.
The younger Osbourne admits she was left flabbergasted when she saw her mother wearing the same one-of-a-kind leopard-skin Dolce & Gabbana gown she had worn to an Elton John party, on TV.
She made the rock matriarch promise never to raid her closet for clothes again.
Kelly says, "I was like, ‘What are you doing? You can’t do this to me!’ "I said, ‘Mum, it’s like Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? You can’t do it. That’s my look…’ and she goes, ‘But we look so cute, we match!’ I was like, ‘Mum, that’s kind of psycho, like, mothers don’t wanna match their daughters.’"

The former Guns N’ Roses bass player, who took a brief hiatus from the music business to study the business of money, claims many musicians who break big are misled when it comes to financial advice.
He says, "You think the money is going to keep coming. When you get that big contract, or your record goes platinum and you’re selling out concerts, you don’t see that it’s going to end."
