CHARLIE SHEEN has been fired from hit sitcom TWO AND A HALF MEN.
The embattled star has been at war with show producers since falling out with writer/creator Chuck Lorre publicly in January (11).
Last week (beg29Feb11) he launched a media blitz using radio, TV and Internet news outlets to spew out his bitter feelings towards his bosses, who cancelled the remaining episodes of the eighth season of Two and a Half Men after Sheen launched a hate-fuelled radio rant aimed at Lorre in late February.
The decision to sack Sheen comes just over a month after the show was suspended to allow the troubled star time to recover from a series of wild antics in rehab.
But Warner Bros. bosses have decided enough was enough after Sheen publicly demanded $3 million (GBP2 million) to return to the show during a TV news interview last week (01Mar11), while continuing to blast them for holding up production on the show.
In a statement released on Monday (07Mar11), Warner Bros. executives say, "After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on Two and a Half Men, effective immediately." Sheen insists he is overjoyed by the news of his firing.
In a bizarre message to TMZ.com, Sheen says, "This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge (his nickname for his home) because now I can take all of the bazillions, never have to look at whatshisc**k again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension." Last week fans of the sitcom called for TV bosses to sack Sheen and replace him on the show with former E.R. star John Stamos.

A representative for a top London fashion college has dismissed reports KANYE WEST has applied to study for a masters degree at the prestigious school.
The Stronger hitmaker has previously designed for brands including Louis Vuitton and Nike, and he cemented his love of fashion in 2009 by travelling to Italy to complete an internship at Fendi.
A report in British newspaper The Sun suggested the rapper was hoping to build on his design skills by applying for a place at Central Saint Martins College and met with school administrators last week (02Mar11) for an interview.
But the school’s press officer, Jo Ortmans, insists West’s recent visit to the educational institute had nothing to do with wanting to study there.
In an email to MTV, Ortmans writes, "Kanye West is not enrolling in (the) MA Fashion (programme) at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He visited the college last week on unrelated matters."

CHARLIE SHEEN is heading to court on Tuesday (08Mar10) in a bid to win back custody of his twin sons, who were taken from him by his estranged wife, BROOKE MUELLER, last week (01Mar11).
The realtor won a restraining order against Sheen after claiming he had threatened her life - and then was given physical custody of the tots.
RadarOnline.com cameras captured the emotional moment when Sheen handed over the kids.
But the embattled actor is planning to fight to regain custody of his twin sons and he has filed papers in Los Angeles.
Sheen will be in court on Tuesday unless he can reach a deal with Mueller before midnight on Monday (07Mar11).
The couple has been in settlement talks since late last week, with Sheen at one point announcing a deal had been struck - but that fell apart on Friday (04Mar11) because of the actor’s breach of a confidentiality agreement during a media blitz.

Movie tough guy DANIEL CRAIG is showing off his feminine side after dressing in drag for a new film supporting women’s rights.
The James Bond star begins the two-minute short as the suave superspy, receiving a lecture from his secret service boss M about gender issues, pay inequality between the sexes, and domestic violence.
He then dons a blonde wig, patterned dress, black tights, high heels and earrings as M - played by Dame Judi Dench - reels off a series of harrowing examples of sexism and the poor treatment of women around the world.
The clip, directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, will be shown in cinemas in Britain and streamed online to highlight International Women’s Day on Tuesday (08Mar11).
Nowhere Boy director Taylor-Wood says, "Bond is challenged by M to think about gender inequality, and I hope that the film encourages viewers to do the same."

GEOFFREY RUSH will be the toast of the New York theatre world this week (begs07Mar11) when he is feted by fellow Aussie stars HUGH JACKMAN and director BAZ LUHRMAN for his critically-acclaimed performance in THE DIARY OF A MADMAN.

Parents-to-be MARIAH CAREY and NICK CANNON celebrated the upcoming arrival of their twins with a blue and pink baby shower on Sunday (06Mar11).
The R&B star and her husband arrived in style to the event, held at The Conservatory Grill at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, in Carey’s black Rolls-Royce.

PRIMAL SCREAM frontman BOBBY GILLESPIE has blasted late music mogul SCOTT PIERING and confessed he still harbours a grudge 21 years after they fell out.
The Scottish singer had a furious bust-up with Piering in 1990 after the band was relegated down the bill for a broadcast of British music show Top of the Pops to make way for Piering’s band, The KLF.
Gillespie admits he’s still raging over the incident and cannot forgive Piering, even though the publicist died from cancer in 2000.
The rocker tells Culture magazine, "Piering shafted us. It was bulls**t. I wanted to break his legs. I thought we were finished. (Our single) Come Together stayed in the charts, but we never got back on Top of the Pops, and it should have been a huge hit.
"I’ve never talked about this before, but it was truly devastating. The anger drove us - it still drives us. I cannot forgive the guy, even now he’s dead."

CHRIS BROWN is at the centre of another naked photo leak scandal - and this time the saucy shots are of him.
A full-frontal nude photo of the disgraced Kiss Kiss star emerged online on Friday night (04Mar11).
The snapshot appears to have been taken recently - because it features Brown with his newly-bleached blond hair standing in front of a mirror.
Taking to Twitter.com on Saturday (05Mar11), Brown seemed to be far from upset about the leak, writing, "Another day!! Another lesson! Another party!! I’m so thankful to have the support of my fans with my music!" It’s the second controversial photo leak involving Brown in two weeks - last month (Feb11), new photos of a battered Rihanna were published online, showing the injuries the singer sustained when she was assaulted by Brown in February, 2009.
Previous naked photos of Rihanna, taken while she was dating Brown, hit the internet just before the couple split in 2009.

A spokesperson for producer DR. LUKE has slammed reports he’s fallen out with pop star KATY PERRY amid allegations they stopped speaking after a heated argument in January (11).
The pair has enjoyed multiple chart successes since Perry shot to fame in 2008, co-writing hits like Hot ‘N Cold, California Gurls and Teenage Dream, but recent reports suggested Perry had dropped Luke from her creative team after a disagreement shortly before the Grammy Awards last month (Feb11).
A source tells the New York Post’s Page Six column, "She got tired of his records, the same familiar sound, but mostly his attitude. Katy’s a star now, and she’s not going to be told what to do." However, Luke’s representative has blasted the claims as "ridiculous", insisting the producer’s working relationship with Perry is fine.
The rep says, "They just put the finishing touches on Katy’s newest single, which they created together, in February. They had a great time, and the single is amazing. He wishes Katy nothing but continued success and looks forward to working with her again soon."

British comedian DAVID WALLIAMS has vowed to give up his favourite party trick of pulling down a star’s pants in public - because he’s mortified at embarrassing MARK RONSON with the prank.
The Little Britain funnyman loves to surprise his pals by calling them onstage when he’s presenting an event for U.K. charity Comic Relief and then yanking their trousers down.
He pulled the stunt on superproducer Ronson at a venue in London in 2009 - but he’s now promised to quit the practical joke because the DJ was so upset at being targeted.
Walliams tells Britain’s Buzz magazine, "I don’t think Mark knew quite what he was letting himself in for. I have apologised profusely to him many times since. But he’s Mr Cool. He didn’t really need to have his trousers pulled down by me. I think maybe it’s time for me to move on and not pull down any more people’s trousers onstage."

Former British royal SARAH FERGUSON has confirmed she accepted cash hand-outs from a convicted U.S. sex offender, insisting she now plans to return to money.
The disgraced Duchess of York hit the headlines in 2010 when the poor state of her finances were revealed amid a scandal involving her efforts to set up a meeting with her ex-husband Prince Andrew for cash.
It has since emerged she is pals with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, but Ferguson insists she knew nothing about his sordid background when she first befriended the billionaire.
Ferguson’s ex-husband also has ties to the sex offender, who was pictured with an underage masseuse at his home.
In an interview on Monday (07Mar10) in London’s Evening Standard newspaper, Ferguson vowed to repay the $22,500 (£15,000) Epstein gave her so she could settle a debt.
She says, "I am just so contrite I cannot say. Whenever I can, I will repay the money and will have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again." A spokesman for Prince Andrew has already defended the embattled British royal after his alleged links to Epstein - a friend since the 1990s - were exposed.
The rep says, "There has been no suggestion of impropriety on the part of the Duke, nor should there be." Over the weekend, British newspapers carried photographs of Andrew with his arm around a young woman who now claims to be one of Epstein’s underage victims. There has been no suggestion that Andrew was involved in inappropriate relationships.
Epstein pleaded guilty to two prostitution offences in Florida in 2008, and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and a further year under house arrest. Prosecutors said Epstein paid several girls younger than 18 for sexual favours during massage sessions.
Meanwhile, it’s not all bad news for Ferguson - in the newspaper interview on Monday, she revealed that she had settled all of her debts.
But the connection to Epstein has been another black mark against her name for the scandal-prone duchess.
She adds, "I have made another huge error in my life in order to get debt free, but the Duke and I are a united front on all that has happened over the last few days.
"Once again, my errors have compounded and rebounded and also inadvertently impacted on the man I admire most in the world - the Duke (Andrew). He has supported me and come to my rescue again and again and there is absolutely nothing that I would not do for him."

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has sparked rumours she’s heading back to Broadway to romance JON HAMM and JOHN KRASINSKI in a new production of THE PHILADELPHIA STORY.
The three actors all appeared at a recent reading of the play in New York, hosted by Drama Desk Award-winning director Alex Timbers, according to Variety.
The report has sparked speculation the trio will take on the story in a new production of the play, which was made famous by the 1940 Oscar-winning film adaptation starring Katharine Hepburn as a scheming socialite opposite Cary Grant and James Stewart.

DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN frontman GREG PUCIATO has aimed a scathing internet rant at 30 SECONDS TO MARS star JARED LETO, branding the rocker "a poser" and urging him to go "back to acting".

Movie mogul HARVEY WEINSTEIN was once left facing arrest when he was caught smoking in an airplane bathroom, after he was encouraged to light up by supermodels KATE MOSS and LINDA EVANGELISTA.
The Hollywood producer reveals he was tempted to sneak off to the bathroom to smoke onboard a flight after seeing his pals get away with it.
But when Weinstein tried it on his own, he got caught and threatened with arrest. He was later taken to court and fined for his illicit smoking.
He tells Newsweek, "One of my all-time classics happened when I took a plane to England and ran into Kate Moss and Linda Evangelista on the flight… They wanted to initiate me, as I was a two-pack-a-day smoker, into their habit of smoking in the bathroom on the plane. So, whenever one of them was there, I got away with it.
"But the one time I tried it myself, I got caught. I said to the attendant, ‘When I smoked with Kate Moss, you never busted me,’ and he replied with the magic words: ‘You are no Kate Moss’. Could there be a truer statement? They nearly arrested me, and I had to go to court and pay a small fortune for my activities."

Singer AVRIL LAVIGNE has hit back at critics who accused her of mocking contestants on AMERICAN IDOL, blaming poor editing for the controversy.
The Sk8er Boi hitmaker appeared as a guest judge on Simon Cowell’s hit TV singing contest in 2009, but was later criticised for appearing to spend most of the show stifling her giggles at the poor standard of contestants.
She has now spoken out about the negative remarks, claiming viewers were only shown "that side of me" and insisting she’d love to go back on the programme.
Lavigne tells Britain’s Sunday Times Magazine, "I was actually really impressed by a lot of the singers and I gave a lot of positive feedback and was very encouraging. But the stuff that actually aired was mostly me making faces and laughing - so viewers only saw that side of me. (But) I hope I can go back on. I had a lot of fun."

Former BLACK SABBATH frontman TONY MARTIN is giving up touring because he struggles to make money on the road.
The rocker sang with the legendary band from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1993 to 1997, and later worked on projects such as the Tony Martin Band, M3 and The Alliance, before launching a solo career.
But Martin admits he is struggling to survive in the music industry and actually loses money when he schedules gigs.
He tells Swedish web magazine CriticalMass.se, "It’s just too hard. Every time we go out on the road, we lose money. They expect us to play for free or for less and less each time and we can’t run an operation like that. It’s just not possible.
"That’s disappointing, ’cause I want to be out on the road! It’s a natural place for a musician to be. Playing gigs is part of the fun. But you can’t do it for nothing, and if you have to sell your house or your car or have to get a day job as an electrician or something to pay to go and play, then that’s no fun and it’s also damaging to your family and your life…
"It’s really hard to make your living out of music now. Even from my position, having been in Black Sabbath, which is a good place to start from, you would think. It’s getting harder and harder to survive. It’s not really comfortable at all."
