RIHANNA LETTING GO OF LOVE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

R&B star RIHANNA has given up on finding true love after ending romances with CHRIS BROWN and baseball star MATT KEMP.
The Bajan beauty endured a tough 2009 after a violent bust-up with then-boyfriend Brown, and she has been single since splitting from Los Angeles Dodgers star Kemp late last year (10).
Now Rihanna insists she is no rush to jump into a new romance - and is fully focused on putting her own needs first.
She tells Vogue magazine, "I just kind of shut down from that. I just let it go. I don’t ever want to have to depend on a relationship.
"I think it’s a really special thing to find love. It’s beautiful. Nothing can match it. But I want to make sure that I find other things in life that I love besides… love."

RIHANNA: ‘S&M ISN’T ALL ABOUT SEX’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

RIHANNA is still stunned by the furore surrounding the provocative promo for her latest single S&M, because she was using the sexual term as a metaphor for her relationship with the media.
The Umbrella hitmaker’s video prompted controversy upon its release last month (Feb11) and it was banned in 11 countries due to the racy nature of the footage, which featured the singer semi-naked, tying a man to a bed, and suggestively sucking on a banana.
But Rihanna is adamant the meaning of the song has been misconstrued - because it’s not all about sex.
She tells Vogue magazine, "The song can be taken very literally, but it’s actually a very metaphorical song. It’s about the love-hate relationship with the media and how sometimes the pain is pleasurable. We feed off it - or I do. And it was a very personal message that I was trying to get across.
"I wanted the video to say that but still play off of the theme of S&M. And I mean, wow, people went crazy. They just saw sex. And when I see that video, I don’t see that at all. I wanted it to be cheeky. There’s no other way to take it." The star has come under fire from some critics for setting a bad example to young fans with her provocative behaviour, but Rihanna insists she has never set out to offend with her work.
She says, "Pop culture is changing. It’s becoming more rock ‘n’ roll. And the pop icons nowadays are very fearless, unapologetic, edgy and it’s a lot for people to swallow sometimes. Because people still think pop star equals role model, but it’s almost impossible to walk that line.
"I’ve struggled with it and have come to the conclusion that I can only live my life for me. I definitely want to help and teach little girls whenever I can, but then there is the character that I have to play in my videos to tell stories. It’s art. And a lot of the parts that I play aren’t necessarily what I stand for in real life. But it’s hard to differentiate that sometimes."

JOE JACKSON WINS LATEST ROUND IN CIVIL SUIT BATTLE WITH SON’S DOCTOR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s dad has been given a boost in his bid to file a wrongful death civil suit against cardiologist DR. CONRAD MURRAY.
Joe Jackson maintains Murray is responsible for the death of his son, and now a Los Angeles judge has rejected a motion from the doctor’s lawyers to dismiss the argument.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson is scheduled to hear arguments on Wednesday (23Mar11) before making a final ruling.
Jackson’s lawsuit, which was filed in November (10), seeks unspecified damages against Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of the King of Pop in a separate criminal case.
Joe Jackson alleges Murray was negligent in administering anaesthetic propofol to his son, who died in June 2009.

THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON CAST FORCED TO HALT PREVIEW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

KIEFER SUTHERLAND and the cast of star-studded new play THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON had quite the scare on the eve of their official Broadway opening - a woman in the audience sparked a medical emergency after choking on a piece of candy.
The 24 star and castmates Chris Noth and Jim Gaffigan had to halt the preview as paramedics rushed to the audience member’s aid.
Sutherland says, "Literally someone yelled, ‘Is there a doctor in the house?’ And we had to stop the play and the curtain came down." The scare ironically occurred shortly after the 24 actor warned Gaffigan that when you star in a long-running play, with a plot that often attracts an older audience, it’s "not uncommon" for someone to pass away during the course of your performance.
The audience member was fine and actually returned to see the remainder of the play after the stuck candy item was removed.
That Championship Season opened on 6 March (11).

FRANCO APOLOGISES FOR SWIPE AT OSCARS WRITER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

Actor JAMES FRANCO has made peace with long-time Oscars writer BRUCE VILANCH after taking offence to criticism over his stint as a co-host at the Academy Awards last month (Feb11).
The Spider-Man star joined forces with Anne Hathaway to present the biggest event in Hollywood’s awards season calendar, but the young duo’s attempts to entertain failed to win over critics and viewers alike.
Vilanch recently voiced his opinion about the performance, suggesting Franco had been juggling too many responsibilities to give the gig his all.
The actor took aim at Vilanch by posting a photo of the pair on his Twitter.com page and writing "James f**ked up the Oscars. Trust me, I know comedy. I mean, come on, I write for Bette Midler!" over the writer’s face.
The post was later removed, but not before it was picked up by various blogs online, prompting Vilanch to reach out to Franco.
The writer explained his comments were made in jest in a "much lighter" tone, adding, "I would never diss you, that’s not my style." Franco conceded he had made a mistake by getting caught up in the gossip and issued an apology of his own to Vilanch, writing on Twitter: "Thanks Bruce. Sorry for reading stupid blogs. James."

COWELL: ‘NO X FACTOR FOR MUM-TO-BE CAREY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

SIMON COWELL has been forced to rule MARIAH CAREY out of his THE X FACTOR judging panel - because the pregnant singer will be too busy with her twins when the TV talent show begins.
The music mogul has been desperate to recruit Carey for the upcoming American version of his hit U.K. TV talent show, which launched the career of British singer Leona Lewis.
But Cowell will have to find another star for the job - because the Hero hitmaker will need plenty of time off after she gives birth to her babies this spring (11).
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "I can tell you officially that Mariah will not be on the panel, mainly because I think she’s still gonna be pregnant at the time we start filming and she’s gonna need some time off.
"She couldn’t start working straight away, and they’re long days." However, Cowell insists there is a good chance Carey will appear on the show when the live singing rounds kick off in the autumn (11).
He adds, "She wants to be involved… we’re hopeful there will be a role for her - and I’m not sure what yet - on the live shows." Last week (ends20Mar11), it was confirmed producer L.A. Reid will take one of the three seats next to Cowell on the judging panel.

WOLVERINE AND AVATAR SEQUELS ‘DELAYED AFTER JAPAN DISASTER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Movie bosses behind HUGH JACKMAN’s upcoming WOLVERINE sequel and JAMES CAMERON’s AVATAR 2 have reportedly put the projects on hold in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan.
The Australian actor is due to reprise his role as the clawed superhero for a sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which will see much of the action set in Japan.
The project suffered a blow with the recent departure of director Darren Aronofsky, and now plans to film in Japan have been postponed following the devastating 9.0-magnitude tremor and subsequent tidal wave which tore through the country on 11 March (11), according to EW.com.
The events in Japan are also said to have affected Cameron’s work on the second Avatar movie - he had planned to head to the country to film underwater sequences in the Mariana Trench, located in the Pacific ocean to the south-east of Japan.
But movie bosses have now reportedly scrapped the planned dive amid fears of aftershocks and rising insurance costs, according to Screenrant.com.

WILLIAMS IS ‘TERRIFIED’ OF PARENTHOOD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

British singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS is "terrified" of becoming a father - but he’s preparing for parenthood because his wife AYDA FIELD is "desperate" to start a family.
Williams wed Field at his home in Los Angeles last August (10) and in October (10) he spoke out to deny reports the newlyweds were trying for a baby, insisting he’s "putting it off for as long as possible".
But the Take That star has now revealed his wife wants to have children in the near future - and even though he’s scared of becoming a dad, he knows it will be "good" for him.
In an interview with Dutch TV show RTL Boulevard, he says, "I thought that was part of the job. That’s how it goes, isn’t it? She desperately wants a child… I am terrified of that.
"I’m going to have to be (a good dad) and I will be because I will have to be. Yeah, I’m selfish. I enjoy doing what I want to do, whenever I want to do it. But on the opposite scale of that (sic), a baby comes into your life and you’re forced to have not everything be about you, and that will be good for me."
