COUNTRY HITMAKER ALLEN DEAD AT 55
Country star HARLEY LEE ALLEN has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 55.
The singer-songwriter died on Wednesday (30Mar11) at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, according to CMT.com.
Allen had little chart success himself but his songs were hits for Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley.
Joe Nichols had hits with his tunes If Nobody Believed in You and I’ll Wait for You in 2004 and 2006 respectively.
