LUPE’S LASERS LIGHT UP THE U.S. ALBUM CHART
Hip-hop star LUPE FIASCO has scored his first U.S. number one album.
Lasers debuts at the top with 204,000 first-week sales, knocking Adele’s 21 off the top of the Billboard 200.
The chart success is a big triumph for Fiasco - he had to fight to get the project released after Atlantic Records bosses shelved the album when it was first completed in 2009.
Back to the countdown and Adele falls to two, while the latest Glee compilations enter the new top 10 at three.
All nine of the Glee-related releases have debuted in the top 10.
Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne is back in the top five at number four with her new release Goodbye Lullabye, and rockers R.E.M. have landed their 10th top 10 album, as Collapse Into Now rounds out the top five.
