SHEEN LANDS A MILLION TWITTER FOLLOWERS IN A DAY
Embattled TV star CHARLIE SHEEN has shattered Twitter records after amassing a million followers in a day.
According to the confirmed figures released by the Guinness Book of World Records, it took Sheen 25 hours and 17 minutes to reach the historic figure overnight between 1 and 2 March (11).
USA Today reports he managed the feat with the help of staff at online celebrity endorsement firm Ad.ly, who secured the actor’s verified account and then spent hours teaching Sheen how to make the most of the micro-blogging website.
Sheen, who is currently out of work after production on his hit sitcom Two and a Half Men was suspended indefinitely, has called the initiative "a cash cow".
In a tweet to fans on his new account, Sheen wrote, "In all sincerity… Thank you Twitter community for the warm reception & the followers that helped get me to 1M (million) in 24 hours!!!"
