MARIAH CAREY’s publicist has raced to dismiss reports the pop superstar will become a first-time mum before the end of the week (ends01Apr11) after her entertainer husband NICK CANNON sparked labour rumours following a frantic tweet.
Cannon took to his Twitter.com account on Tuesday night (29Mar11) to update followers to his whereabouts and his comments started a gossip frenzy.
He wrote, "On a plane back to NY. Praying Dem Babies wait for DADDY to come back b4 they pop out (sic)!" But Carey’s rep insists the dad-to-be has got nothing to worry about - the singer is not in labour.
The Hero hitmaker was briefly hospitalised at the weekend (26-27Mar11) after experiencing contractions on Saturday night.

Country star HARLEY LEE ALLEN has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 55.
The singer-songwriter died on Wednesday (30Mar11) at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, according to CMT.com.
Allen had little chart success himself but his songs were hits for Alan Jackson, John Michael Montgomery, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley.
Joe Nichols had hits with his tunes If Nobody Believed in You and I’ll Wait for You in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

The singer’s F.A.M.E. has debuted at the top of the new Billboard 200 countdown with 270,000 sales - 100,000 more than second-placed Jennifer Hudson, who debuts I Remember Me at two.

WILLIE NELSON won’t have to play for his freedom in a Texas court - he has been fined for marijuana possession.
A Hudspeth County prosecutor suggested the country star should perform his song Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain to resolve his charges, but Judge Becky Dean-Walker told the Associated Press that the idea was just a joke that "got out of hand".
Nelson will be able to plead guilty and pay a small fine without appearing in court.
He was arrested for possession in November (10) when a Border Patrol agent smelled pot smoke during a routine search of the singer’s tour bus.

NEIL YOUNG’s classic rock band BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD are to tour for the first time since 1968.
The supergroup, featuring Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, reunited to perform at the rock star’s annual Bridge School Benefit concert in Northern California last October (11) - and now the band is hitting the road.
Young has announced a six-date California tour in June (11), which will serve as a warm-up for the band’s set at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee on 11 June (11).
Young’s longtime bassist Rick Rosas will take the place of the late Bruce Palmer on the road and drummer Dewey Martin’s spot will be filled by Crosby, Stills and Nash drummer Joe Vitale.
A statement from Furay reads, "It’s hard to believe 42 years have passed since we played together as the Buffalo Springfield. Over the years, music never stopped flowing from each of us, and it’s come full circle, if you will. And now, we get to share our hearts with you again."

KATY PERRY has become part of an elite chart club in America after scoring her fourth number one single from the same album.
Teenage Dream becomes the first album in more than six years to yield four chart-topping songs on the Billboard Hot 100, as E.T. ends Lady Gaga’s stranglehold on the top of the charts.
Teenage Dream, California Gurls and Firework have previously shot to the top of the countdown.
Usher is the only other artist this century to release four number ones from the same album, 2004’s Confessions.
And Perry is the first female act to score the feat since Mariah Carey enjoyed four number ones from her eponymous debut in 1990 and 1991.
Teenage Dream becomes only the ninth album to feature four number ones.
Perry tells Billboard.com, "I am so thrilled that E.T. has landed at number one. I want to thank all the fans who contributed to this amazing feat and radio, which has been an essential part of my continued existence. I truly appreciate all the support of my creative twists and turns." The tune is expected to enjoy a long run at the top of the charts after Perry premieres the space-age video to accompany the song on U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight on Thursday (31Mar11).
Meanwhile, Perry’s pal Rihanna also climbs up a spot on the new chart - her S&M takes over at number two, and Cee Lo Green’s F**k You (Forget You) jumps back up the chart to three.

A doctor accused of stalking country star SHANIA TWAIN at Sunday’s (27Mar11) Juno Awards will stand trial in Toronto, Canada on Friday (01Apr11).
Dr. John Palumbo, 50, was arrested outside Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, where Twain was being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the annual awards show.
The physician was told to stay at least 500 yards away from the singer at a hearing on 7 March (11).
According to Canadian media reports, Palumbo has had a long-standing delusional obsession with the singer.

Former HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star VANESSA HUDGENS is so thrilled with her first tattoo she wants more - even though her agents are begging her not to go under the needle again.
The actress has had a butterfly inked on her neck and now she wants to get more skin art the next time she’s in New York and tattooist-to-the-stars Bang Bang is available.
She says, "My agents are really ticked off. My manager’s like, ‘No, do anything else; just don’t get another tattoo’. But it’s my body; I’ll do whatever I want." Hudgens wants one tattoo on her ribcage and she’s keen to get a cross on the side of her left hand.
She adds, "I was raised Catholic… (and) Miley (Cyrus) has one there. It’s so cool. It’s fun. It’s like, ‘I’m a good girl!’" And the actress wants to take her dad with her the next time she gets tattooed, in the hope the experience will inspire him.
She explains, "I really want him to get a tattoo because he’s a retired firefighter and he wants a Tasmanian Devil with a firehat."

Movie star PAUL GIAMATTI has launched a campaign to land a role as a villain in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN movie.
The Sideways actor wants to revive The Rhino from his youth - because the charging character remains one of his favourite comic book bad guys.
Giamatti made his case during an appearance on U.S. late-night show Conan on Tuesday (29Mar11), stating, "The Rhino was fantastic. He was, like, a Russian guy. He was real fast and he hit stuff real hard… He had, like, a rhino suit on, and his face was sticking out of the rhino suit and he had, like, a horn.
"I think I would be the best Rhino possible." So far, Andrew Garfield has been cast as Spider-Man and his supporting cast includes C. Thomas Howell, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans.
As for the villains in the new movie, Howell has let it slip that Spider-Man foe The Lizard appears, but so far there has been no mention of The Rhino, aka Aleksei Sytsevich.

Beloved U.S. TV star JUDGE JUDY has been hospitalised for exhaustion.
The former family court judge, real name Judith Sheindlin, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (30Mar11) after experiencing intestinal discomfort.
She underwent an MRI scan and a number of tests, but the 68 year old, who will be discharged on Thursday (31Mar11), insists she just needs some rest.
She tells TMZ.com, "I was feeling funky this morning … funky enough that I knew someone should give a gander over what I got.
"I’m just exhausted, and my body was telling me it needed a day to chill. At my age, I know my body. My body is fine."

Actor DAVID BOREANAZ has settled a lawsuit with a woman who accused him of sexual harassment while she worked as an extra on his hit TV show BONES.
Actress Kristina Hagan went public with her allegations against the former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star last July (10), a year after Boreanaz reportedly made a series of unwanted sexual advances towards her.
In her legal papers, she claimed Boreanaz’s bad behaviour included sending "inappropriate text messages", masturbating in front of her and attempting to "kiss her and touch her breasts".
She sued for damages from both Boreanaz and his TV bosses at Fox for the "emotional and psychological distress" she suffered as a result of the unwanted sexual interest, as well as lost earnings.
At the time of the lawsuit, Boreanaz was battling to save his marriage to Jaime Bergman after confessing to an affair, but his lawyer Marty Singer slammed Hagan’s claims, branding them "totally fabricated and absurd".
However, the actor can now put the scandal firmly behind him after reaching a settlement with Hagan and her attorney, Gloria Allred, according to TMZ.com.

Actress ELIZABETH BANKS is a first-time mum after welcoming a baby boy, born via surrogate.
The W star and her husband, Max Handelman, are parents after years of failed fertility treatments.
Banks took to her personal blog on Wednesday (30Mar11) to announce the arrival of baby Felix.
She writes, "The one true hurdle I’ve faced in life is that I have a broken belly. After years of trying to get pregnant, exploring the range of fertility treatments, all unsuccessful, our journey led us to gestational surrogacy: We make a ‘baby cake’ and bake it in another woman’s ‘oven’.
"From that came two miracles. The first was meeting our carrier and her husband who were truly humbling in their decency and generosity. And the second miracle was the birth of our baby boy, Felix Handelman. Felix means happy and lucky in Latin. And true to his name, Felix is a very happy baby and a blessing on our life." Banks wed Handelman, her college sweetheart, in 1992.

The bosses at Internet search engine site Yahoo.com have teamed up with U.S. news show Access Hollywood to offer PRINCE WILLIAM and his bride-to-be KATE MIDDLETON tips for a happy marriage.
The couple will wed in London at the end of April (11) and now well-wishers can officially offer the royals advice.
Access Hollywood launched the project on Wednesday (30Mar11) with messages from movie royal Dame Helen Mirren and Glee star Jane Lynch.
The Queen star Mirren said, "The pressures on them are going to be so different. I don’t know how any marriage can survive those pressures, quite honestly, without a real, unbelievable sense of self-discipline and duty… The trick… is to give the other person as much freedom as possible.
"Freedom to be who and what they want to be. You’re there to support the other person, not to control them, to push them into being something that you want them to be." R&B star NE-YO has become the latest celebrity to offer his services to the relief effort in Japan - he has created a line of charity T-shirts to raise funds for the survivors of this month’s (Mar11) earthquake and tsunami disasters.
The So Sick hitmaker is following in the footsteps of his music peers Snoop Dogg, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, and Solange Knowles by designing a special shirt to benefit relief organisations helping the Japanese clean up after the natural disasters.
Ne-Yo’s T-shirts feature the message ‘Spread love with music’, with a big heart and music notes drawn in marker pen alongside his autograph.
He says, "You can absolutely spread love through music, and I think that’s what’s called for in this time of crisis." The shirts are being sold on the singer’s website for $10 (£6.25) each.
