JACKSON KIDS GO UNNOTICED AT HOMELESS HELP CENTRE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s children are able to escape the glare of the celebrity spotlight whenever they volunteer at a centre for the homeless in Los Angeles - because those seeking help have no idea who they are.
The King of Pop’s three kids, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, are regular visitors to the L.A. Family Housing Sydney M. Irmas Transitional Living Center, which helps families’ and individuals’ transition from homelessness.
And many residents at the venue are completely unaware they are mixing with the offspring of the late Thriller hitmaker, according to U.S. TV presenter Robin Roberts.
The reporter joined the children and their grandmother Katherine Jackson during a visit earlier this week (begs21Feb11) and recalls how one poor kid reacted when he noticed Paris, 12, carrying a copy of Never Can Say Goodbye, a tribute book released by the Jackson family matriarch last year (10).
Speaking on breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (25Feb11), Roberts said, "Paris has the book too and a young resident there was looking at it and said, ‘Wow, Michael Jackson. Did you know Michael Jackson?’ Didn’t even realise that it was his daughter, and that’s the way they like it.
"They just blend in there and they just want to give as much as they can to that centre and other charities as well."

SHEEN HITS OUT AT ANTI-SEMITISM ACCUSATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN has slammed allegations of anti-Semitism after blasting TWO AND A HALF MEN writer CHUCK LORRE by his Hebrew name in an angry online missive.
The actor fired off a curt open letter to TMZ.com after TV producers announced they were shutting down production on the hit sitcom for the rest of the season.
In the message, Sheen unleashed his hatred for Lorre, calling him Chaim Levine, the Hebrew translation of the creator’s birth name.
The reference prompted some critics to accuse Sheen of using Lorre’s Jewish name in a derogatory manner - but the embattled star has hit out at the claims.
He tells TMZ.com, "I was referring to Chuck by his real name, because I wanted to address the man, not the bulls**t TV persona." And Sheen, whose actor father Martin changed his family name from Estevez for film, is rattled by the anti-Semite allegations because of his own Latin roots.
He adds, "So you’re telling me, anytime someone calls me Carlos Estevez, I can claim they are anti-Latino?" Producers announced there would be no more Two and a Half Men this season after Sheen took to the airwaves on Thursday (24Feb11) and launched a vicious radio rant about creator Lorre, attacking the writer for his lack of "gratitude" and branding him "a stupid, stupid little man and a p**sy punk" for suspending filming on Two and a Half Men.
The hiatus was initiated in January (11) to allow Sheen to attend rehab for substance abuse issues. Filming was expected to resume next week (beg28Feb11).
The actor is refusing to take the season cancellation seriously - in a text message to the presenters of U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America on Friday (25Feb11), he claimed he is "100 per cent clean" and intends to show up for work on the Los Angeles set on Tuesday (01Mar11) as previously planned.

LAVIGNE SNUBBED LABEL BOSSES’ PUSH FOR ‘URBAN’ SOUND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

AVRIL LAVIGNE was furious when record label executives tried to persuade her to ditch her trademark rock roots in favour of a radio-friendly "urban" sound.
The Complicated singer’s latest album Goodbye Lullaby was mired in delays after RCA bosses pushed Lavigne to try out a different vibe - and she was shocked when they suggested she sing dance tracks.
She tells Digital Spy, "My record company were being a typical record company and trying to give me their version of how it should be - trying to get me to go in a different direction. I had to fight with them over and over. I was like, ‘No, this is a really special record to me and this is what I’m doing.’ "Radio’s very rhythmic and urban and dance today. I think they wanted me to do something more like that, but that’s not what my vision was for this album. I was signed by L.A. Reid on Arista Records when I was 16. He understood me and believed in me.
"Arista folded and I got put on RCA or whatever, then there were new people there, and every six months it changes and more new people come in. It’s funny when someone new comes in and they’ve got an opinion too."

JACKSON’S SON IS PLANNING MOVIE MOGUL CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s eldest son has his sights set on launching a career as a movie producer, after learning the basics during private lessons with the late King of Pop.
In an exclusive interview with U.S. TV’s Good Morning America, Prince Michael reveals his father had encouraged his interest in Hollywood and hired a lecturer from the University of California, Los Angeles to teach both of them all about the art of filmmaking in the comfort of their own home.
The 14 year old says, "We would do film classes there and we would film a couple of movies too." And the teenager has the full support of his grandmother, Katherine Jackson, because she’s convinced the superstar would approve of his son following his filmmaking dreams.
She says, "That’s what his father wanted to do, and he was doing it right along with them. They had some classes in it.
"Even now (Prince’s younger brother) Blanket he gets in and then (sister) Paris dresses up as a waitress or something and they film their little movies."

IDOL DRAMA AS CONTESTANT IS HOSPITALISED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

The AMERICAN IDOL wannabe who turned show judge JENNIFER LOPEZ into a sobbing wreck after she had to send him home could be returning to the TV talent contest if a sick singer can’t make it to Friday’s (25Feb11) competition.
Hopeful Casey Abrams was hospitalised with severe stomach pains after making it to the last 24 of the contest - and it is not known if he’ll be well enough to appear during the taping on Friday.
If not, he’ll be replaced - and rejected Chris Medina could find himself back on the stage, because he’s one of Lopez’s favourites.
The actress/singer had a breakdown while taping a show that aired in the U.S. on Wednesday (23Feb11) after she had to send Medina home.
He admits he’d be thrilled to return, but not if it means Abrams has to sit the rest of the contest out: "I would never wish that anybody would be in that position in order for me to get back on the show."

BLUNT HAD TO FIGHT FOR BALLERINA ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:20 pm

British actress EMILY BLUNT had to fight to land her ballerina role in new thriller THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU - because director GEORGE NOLFI wanted to cast a professional dancer.
The Devil Wears Prada star was determined to change Nolfi’s mind after falling in love with the script, which is loosely based on author Philip K. Dick’s short story, Adjustment Team.
She says, "I read the script and then about six weeks later, I finally got a meeting with George. I would call my agency and they would say, ‘No, no, they’re only meeting dancers.’ He said he wanted a dancer and I said, ‘I think you’re wrong, I think you should have me!’" But Blunt admits she struggled to stick to her strict diet and perfect her dance steps as she prepared for the shoot: "I had about eight weeks before the movie started… so I was in the dance studio and in the gym. It’s the most demanding thing, physically, I’ve done."

HATHAWAY: ‘OSCARS WILL BE RESPECTFUL TO HOLLYWOOD STARS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:20 pm

Oscars co-host ANNE HATHAWAY has no intention of upsetting her peers at the Academy Awards on Sunday (27Feb11), insisting the big show won’t be a repeat of the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.
Comedian Ricky Gervais sparked controversy with his mean-spirited humour at the Globes, and reports suggest he has submitted gags for Hathaway and sidekick James Franco at the Oscars.
But the actress has assured film fans and stars alike she won’t be making anyone feel uncomfortable on Sunday night (27Feb11).
She tells The Hollywood Reporter, "If you’re looking for someone to call people out, we’re not your hosts. I think that humour is really difficult to pull off, and I’m not particularly adept at it.
"I am the youngest host in history, and I have no business being cynical or calling anyone out. I certainly haven’t earned the right to do that."

But later in their interview, Stone took the opportunity to appeal for a relationship: "If we are putting it out here to the people of the globe, I believe that it’s time maybe for me to partner up. SHEEN’S MAJOR LEAGUE ROLE IN JEOPARDY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

A movie boss has ordered CHARLIE SHEEN to "straighten up" - or risk losing his role in the upcoming MAJOR LEAGUE sequel.
Sheen has frequently hit the headlines in recent weeks as his personal life unravels - he ended up in hospital last month (Jan11) after a wild night of partying with porn stars and pals, before beginning a rehab stint at his Los Angeles home.
The string of scandals continued this week (begs21Feb11) when Sheen publicly criticised Two and a Half Men writer Chuck Lorre, prompting producers to pull the plug on the sitcom for the rest of the season.
Now Sheen has been told he could be excluded from plans for a fourth installment of the Major League franchise if he doesn’t clean up his act.
The CEO of Morgan Creek Productions, the studio behind the film, insists he doesn’t want to hire Sheen for the project after experiencing a frequently absent Lindsay Lohan on Georgia Rule.
James G. Robinson tells TMZ.com, "I’m not going to risk putting Charlie in the movie if he continues messing up. Obviously with Major League 3 there’s a huge part written for Charlie’s character… but after dealing with Lindsay Lohan on Georgia Rule, I can speak for someone who has experienced the difficulties of working with an actor dealing with addiction.
"I won’t go through that again. If Charlie doesn’t straighten up… I unfortunately can’t put him in the movie. When Lindsay was doing Georgia Rule, she would miss full days of work. When an actor doesn’t show up for work, you can lose half-a-million dollars a day paying the 250 other people there for the shoot and the costs for the set." In 2006, Lohan was famously chastised by Robinson for her "irresponsible and unprofessional" behaviour on the set of the drama, which he blamed on her "heavy partying" in a stern letter to the star.

JACKSON KIDS AT CENTRE OF CHARITY FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s three children have been caught up in a bitter battle between estate executors and the singer’s mother KATHERINE over the kids’ involvement in a charity.
The Thriller hitmaker established the Heal the World Foundation in 1992, helping to raise funds for a variety of causes, including drug and alcohol abuse education and disadvantaged children.
The organisation shut down in 2002, but a separate charity, also named Heal the World Foundation, was set up in 2008. The new company had no link to Jackson and his estate executors have since launched legal proceedings against founder Melissa Johnson, accusing her of infringement and unfair competition.
They claim Johnson’s firm is causing the singer’s fans to mistakenly believe it is the same Heal the World Foundation the superstar was involved in and are demanding she change the name of her charity.
But Katherine Jackson has only added to the confusion by working with Johnson’s firm and allowing her three grandkids, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, to get involved.
The children paid a visit to the L.A. Family Housing Sydney M. Irmas Transitional Living Centre in north Hollywood on Wednesday (23Feb11) on behalf of the Foundation, and presented a cheque for $10,000 (£6,670) to the centre, which helps families’ and individuals’ transition from homelessness.
Prince Michael, 14, even serves on the Foundation’s board and Katherine is determined to continue collaborating with Johnson’s charity.
She tells U.S. breakfast programme Good Morning America, "It makes me feel very good, one reason why is because it’s what Michael wanted." But Katherine’s actions have infuriated Michael’s estate executors and they have hit out at her decision to get the singer’s children involved.
In a statement issued to GMA on Friday (25Feb11), they say: "The current Heal the World Foundation has no relation to Michael Jackson’s charity that touched so many lives before becoming inactive several years before Michael’s death… The estate does not believe Michael’s children should be used to exploit a foundation that a federal judge found was not associated with Michael Jackson."

The Ironic hitmaker and her rapper husband MC Souleye welcomed a son, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, on Christmas Day (25Dec10).
Morissette insists her life has already been transformed by her new bundle of joy, calling motherhood a "revelation".

"Ever has cracked open a door in my heart that I had been dusting off for years in anticipation of this kind of opportunity to love. And what I have found on the other side is no less than a golden healing balm and celebration… And a responsibility that I feel blessed to take on… Privileged. Inspired. Ready."
