SHEEN SITS DOWN FOR FIRST TV CHAT SINCE SHOW SCANDAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:41 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN has sat down for his first television interview since producers pulled his hit sitcom TWO AND A HALF MEN following his public rant against writer CHUCK LORRE.
The actor’s private and professional life has headed into meltdown since he was hospitalised following a wild night of partying with prostitutes in January (11).
Production on the show was halted as Sheen began a rehab course at his Los Angeles home. However, he blamed TV bosses for placing the cast and crew on a "forced hiatus" and viciously lashed out against the comedy’s writer Lorre through the press, calling him a "clown" and a "worm".
The rant led CBS producers to pull Two and a Half Men from TV schedules for the foreseeable future, and now Sheen has given a candid interview to rival network ABC to give his side of the story.
The chat with reporter Andrea Canning for U.S. news show 20/20 will be an hour-long special which will air on Tuesday (01Mar11). Previews of the interview will also be aired on Good Morning America.

ROSS HAS NO INTENTION OF QUITTING MUSIC

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:38 pm

Singing superstar DIANA ROSS has no plans to ever retire from showbusiness, insisting she would only ever hang up her microphone if she lost her powerful voice.
The Motown legend returned to TV as a performer on Friday (25Feb11), during a taped special of The Oprah Winfrey Show, and entertained viewers with renditions of hits including I’m Coming Out and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, marking her first televised sets in four years.
During a chat with Winfrey, 66-year-old Ross admitted she would love to continue singing into old age - unless her vocals give way.
She said, "I think that if my voice changes, then it’s time for me not to sing. I don’t want to be singing and sounding bad, so I think that would be it." She added, "I really would like to age gracefully, and I feel that the vitality or the energy of who I am comes from inside.
"If it’s time for me to be off stage or not be in front of the camera then I know I’ll get a tug from somewhere saying, ‘OK Diana Ross, it’s time to stop.’"

JUDGE ORDERS INDEPENDENT MEDICAL REVIEW FOR JAMES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:35 pm

A California judge has ordered ETTA JAMES to undergo an independent medical evaluation after the ailing soul legend’s son alleged she could be in "very serious danger" if she is left under the care of her current live-in doctor.
The At Last singer is currently being cared for by Dr. Elaine James and a team of nurses at her home for dementia, leukaemia and other problems.
Her son Donto’s lawyer, James E. Deering, Jr., appeared at a hearing on Thursday (24Feb11) to raise concerns about her healthcare, claiming Dr. James had fitted the star with feeding tubes at her home - a procedure he insists should have been performed at a hospital.
Judge Thomas Cahraman then agreed for a court-appointed attorney to organise an independent physician to examine James and review her medical needs.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Dr. James revealed she fully supported the judge’s decision, claiming the singer is "not an easy patient".
She told reporters, "He can have 10 examiners, he can have 20 physicians to come in that house to perform the duties I do. I have a list of 23 medical sub-specialties that I have had to treat her for. She is not an easy patient. I have saved her several times. Eventually she will die with something, but it will not be with my help." Last month (Jan11), Judge Cahraman granted James’ husband Artis Mills access to $60,000 (£40,000) of the ailing star’s money to cover her medical costs.

GALLIANO’S LAWYER SLAMS ACCUSATIONS, READY TO SUE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:29 pm

JOHN GALLIANO’s lawyer has hit back at allegations the designer hurled anti-Semitic insults at a couple during a night out in Paris, insisting it was the fashion guru who came under attack.
The flamboyant couturier had been drinking at a bar in the French capital on Thursday (24Feb11) and was arrested after reportedly launching a bitter tirade at two strangers, a Jewish woman and an Asian man, who had been sitting at a table nearby, according to local police.
The New York Daily News reports the couple claimed Galliano shouted, "Dirty Jewish face, you should be dead", and, "F**king Asian b**tard, I will kill you".
The 50 year old, head designer for Christian Dior, was taken to a police station for a sobriety test and subsequently released without charge.
But Galliano’s lawyer, Stephane Zerbib, has blasted the couple’s accusations - he alleges it was the fashion guru who was the victim and he’s preparing to sue the pair for defamation.
Zerbib says, "There was an argument. Mr. Galliano was verbally attacked but at no time did he use… insults of a racist or anti-Semitic character. We have witnesses to back up his version of events." The legal representative is now planning to take the couple to court to clear Galliano’s name.
Following his arrest, bosses at Christian Dior suspended Galliano pending the outcome of a police investigation into the incident.
