SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is turning from BEATLE to ballet - he’s written the score for a new dance extravaganza.
The Fab Four legend has spent the last year penning the music for the production, which will debut at an unknown ballet company in New York before it is brought to the U.K.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I have been working on a ballet for a while. I’ll be making a proper announcement in a few weeks. It’s a really exciting project for me."

BLACK EYED PEAS star WILL.I.AM has laughed off reports he hates immigration officers at airports calling him by his real name - insisting the story got "flipped".
The rapper’s original name is William James Adams, but he changed his catchy moniker after embarking on a hip-hop career.
In a recent interview, he revealed he got "hostile" when airport security didn’t understand that his name was no longer Williams Adams, saying, "Not even my family call me William. And only government officials or border guards ever give it to me with the full Mr William Adams. But that’s not me. It might say that on the paperwork but that ain’t me. I’m will.i.am. If anyone says different, then I can get quite hostile." But the star insists he only gets angry when he is mistaken for a certain William James who always flags up on airport security.
He tells Britain’s Daily Star, "I saw the headline saying I can get quite hostile if I’m called William Adams and that’s nonsense.
"I’m never hostile and I ain’t ashamed of the name on my birth certificate. I get stopped at the airport, and a ton of people are called William Adams, right? "But there’s one other William James Adams that the airport security always mistake me for. So I said: ‘No, I’m not THAT William James Adams.’ That story got flipped."

ASHLEE SIMPSON and PETE WENTZ proved their split is amicable by spending Valentine’s Day (14Feb11) together with son BRONX.
News that Simpson had filed for divorce from the former Fall Out Boy rocker stunned fans last week (ends11Feb11). The singer had cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the split.
But despite their relationship heading towards an official end, the former couple decided to spend the most romantic day of the year in each other’s company with a meal at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Simpson and Wentz were spotted outside the venue on Monday with their two-year-old son.
According to tabloid reports, Simpson has moved in with her big sister Jessica while she searches for a new home.

R&B singer CIARA has opened up about her desperation to leave her record label, blasting bosses for not financially backing her music career.
The Goodies star has been at the centre of rumours she is on the brink of being dropped by Jive Records, but she has taken to her Facebook.com page to explain her side of the story.
The beauty claims she has struggled to receive any financial support from label chiefs before the release of her single Gimmie Dat, revealing she has had to pay for the song and its promo with her own cash.
She goes on to insist she has now personally asked to be freed from her contract so she can get on with her chart career.
In a revealing post, the star writes, "This week the net has been a buzz of the rumor that I have been dropped from my label. At this point that rumor is false… It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me… The past two albums have been very frustrating for me.
"At times there were songs I chose to lead a project and I was ignored! This project, I even tried to get Gimmie Dat started. I spent tens of thousands of my own money only to hear the radio PDs tell me my label didn’t want the song played. I even spent more than one hundred thousand dollars out of my pocket on the video to bring my vision to it and still no label support. I do understand that some labels are not financially supporting their artists and I have become one of them."

British model-turned-actress LILY COLE has reportedly split from U.S. TV star ENRIQUE MURCIANO after a two-and-a-half year relationship.
The 22-year-old redhead has been dating Without A Trace star Murciano since 2008, and they recently enjoyed a romantic holiday in the Caribbean together.
However the pair has decided to break-up, and Cole has since been spotted in London with male model David Gandy, according to Britain’s Daily Mail.
A source tells the publication, "Lily and Enrique were struggling to see each other. Lily is focusing on her finals (in art history) and is still flying around the world for modelling assignments, while Enrique is filming (in Los Angeles) all the time."

Director GUY RITCHIE’s $9 million (£6 million) London house has been overtaken by squatters.
The Sherlock Holmes moviemaker bought the property in the British capital’s posh Fitzrovia area last May (10) and hired a construction company to renovate the building.
However a group of squatters, part of the Really Free School, took advantage of the U.K.’s squatters’ rights laws and moved into the building at the weekend (12-13Feb11).
A neighbour tells Britain’s The Sun, "Police said the squatters will move in in force - and bring a grand piano." In Britain, a person can claim a right to stay in an empty property as long as they don’t break and enter.

A woman accused of trespassing on ELLEN DEGENERES and PORTIA DE ROSSI’s Los Angeles property has pleaded not guilty.
Security guards at the couple’s Beverly Hills compound found Karen Sjoden in the grounds of the stars’ home, although she never entered the residence and did not get close to either the comedienne or the actress.
The 49 year old was charged with misdemeanour trespassing and went before a Los Angeles court on Monday (14Feb11) to plead not guilty.
According to prosecutors, she was allegedly hiding behind cushions on the house’s deck just hours after she was asked to leave.
The judge told the suspect, "You end up in someone’s backyard at 3 in the morning… then you are asked to leave… and you come back later with no legit purpose whatsoever and secrete yourself… you are probably up to no good. It only takes one time to be a threat."

VICTORIA BECKHAM followed her New York Fashion Week success on Monday (14Feb11) by learning she’s a favourite designer of royal-to-be KATE MIDDLETON.
The former Spice Girls star has been asked to send pieces from her latest collection to the 29 year old, who will wed Prince William in April (11).
Beckham says, "Apparently, she likes my clothes and has asked to see a selection. It’s tremendously exciting.

EMILY BLUNT and MATT DAMON gave tourists visiting the Statue of Liberty a thrill when they staged scenes for new film THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU just feet away from them.
The landmark couldn’t be shut down for filming and so the onscreen couple had to shoot a romantic scene before a big crowd of sightseers.
Blunt says, "You have 400 random strangers watching you do a very emotional scene, which is pretty embarrassing." Damon adds, "There were a bunch of people going to see the statue and a movie is being filmed and we’re yelling at each other, ‘I love you!’ And they’d go, ‘Cut…’ and there’d be a pause and everyone would clap."

DAVID BECKHAM has been dealt a blow in his efforts to sue a U.S. magazine for libel over an article which alleged he’d cheated on his wife with a prostitute - his lawsuit has been dismissed.
In court on Monday (14Feb11), U.S. District Judge Manuel Real ruled Beckham’s attorneys had failed to produce evidence In Touch magazine editors published the story with malice.
The publication’s lawyer Elizabeth McNamara told the court the editors did "everything possible" to corroborate details from hooker Irma Nici’s expose.
The soccer stud, who is married to pop star-turned-designer Victoria Beckham, sued In Touch in September (10) and was seeking $25 million (£16.6 million) in damages.
Beckham’s attorney, Richard B. Kendall, vowed to appeal the ruling, stating his client was visiting his ill father when the alleged trysts occurred.

MATT DAMON partly has his mother to thank for his wife and kids - because he would never have met LUCIANA BARROSO if he hadn’t listened to his mum’s advice.
Damon was keen to shoot Rescue Dawn with director Werner Herzog, but fearing the war drama would mean her son would have to lose weight for the role, his mother suggested he take on a comedy instead.
So Damon shot the Farrelly Brothers’ Stuck on You with Greg Kinnear - and met his wife on set.
He says, "Werner and I were talking about Rescue Dawn about eight years ago with me possibly playing the Christian Bale role. I was really strongly considering that and instead I met with the Farrelly Brothers.
"I remember talking to my mother and she said, ‘You know, you don’t always have to go into a jungle and lose a bunch of weight. You’re allowed to have a little fun.’ "So I did the Farrelly Brothers movie and that there was where I met my wife, so, four kids later, that was a pretty fateful decision."

MADONNA’s ex-lover CARLOS LEON has turned his fear of the undead into a new movie idea he’s shopping around Hollywood.
The fitness trainer-turned actor first thought of the idea for the vampire film when he was working the graveyard shift at a Los Angeles cemetery years before he met Madonna.
He explains, "I was working with this construction group in Los Angeles and I had to dig graves at night. I had to do that for about six months. It was the worst thing I ever had to do in my life. I made $25 an hour.
"I always had this fear of cemeteries. I think that was one of the reasons why I had to do the job; to overcome that fear.
"I’m good as long as there are no zombies or vampires hanging out. I actually wrote a script with a friend that I’m shopping around about vampires. It’s like Blade meets Escape From New York with vampires.
"I have this fascination with vampires. Ever since I was a kid growing up, the first horror movie I saw was Night of the Living Dead and it scared the hell out of me. I love the fear of being scared and knowing that it’s not real. I escape reality and go into this horror life."

The Irish singer is reportedly helping the Viva la Vida hitmakers compose and record new tracks.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "(Coldplay singer) Chris Martin has always had a soft spot for Ash. They were quite close in the early days and have shared a number of bills over the years.
"He admires Tim as a songwriter, especially his brilliant way with melodies, so he didn’t think twice about asking him to get involved."

R&B star EL DEBARGE has stalled his comeback and checked into rehab to address years of substance abuse.
The Rhythm of the Night hitmaker, 49, has released a statement revealing he’s taking a time out to finally fix his issues.
He says, "I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone." El Debarge was in the midst of a major comeback after putting his career on hold for 16 years. He released a new album, Second Chance, last November (10).
He has postponed all scheduled performances on a tour with Kem and Ledisi, which was scheduled to start in Houston, Texas on Thursday (17Feb11). Musiq Soulchild will replace him on the bill.

ASHLEE SIMPSON has reportedly moved in with big sister JESSICA after splitting from husband PETE WENTZ.
According to Life & Style, the younger Simpson and her young son Bronx plan to stay with her sibling and fiance Eric Johnson until she finds a place of her own.
A source tells the publication, "Leaving Pete was tough for Ashlee and she needed to be with her family. Jessica told her she and Bronx were welcome to stay with them until she was ready to find a place of her own.

Heavy rocker JEFF HANNEMAN has been forced to pull out of SLAYER’s upcoming tour after he was hospitalised with a nasty flesh-eating disease.
The thrash metal guitarist is suffering from necrotizing fasciitis, a rare bacterial virus which attacks skin, fat and body tissue.
Reports suggest Hanneman became ill after being bitten by a spider, and he is due to undergo surgery on his right arm in a bid to treat the disease.
In a statement issued to Antimusic.com, Slayer frontman Tom Araya says, "Jeff is our brother, we’ve all been friends and together as a band for almost 30 years. We just want him to recover as soon as possible." The rocker’s Slayer bandmates have chosen to forge ahead with their tour commitments, and will head out to Australia later this month (Feb11) with a guest guitarist in Hanneman’s place.
And lead guitarist Kerry King reveals the sick star is fully behind their decision after Slayer had to axe gigs last year (10) due to Araya’s own health issues.
King adds: "After everything that’s happened we all agreed that we just can’t let our fans down again.
"Jeff is totally on board with the decision, so we will tour as planned. We can’t pinpoint what day he’ll be back, but it will be as soon as he possibly can. We can’t wait for him to get better and get his ass back on the road."

MAD MEN star JOHN SLATTERY had a blast from the past while shooting his new movie THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU in his native New York - some scenes were filmed on the street he grew up on.
The actor admits he turned up on set early one morning only to find he was filming in an apartment he knew.
He tells WENN, "We shot on Bank Street, which is a street I used to live on. I ran out of someone’s apartment and into someone’s apartment that I actually knew!" And the native New Yorker is still so proud of the Big Apple, he insists on riding the subways to get around - just like he did when he was less well known.
He adds, "I live downtown and my kid goes to school a little further uptown, so I take the subway all the time."

News of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’s 2011 cover has leaked early thanks to a gaffe in New York City.
The annual cover, featuring soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo’s Russian girlfriend Irina Shayk, was supposed to be unveiled at midnight New York time on The Late Show with David Letterman, but a test run for the show exposed the cover shot for the eagle-eyed when a massive billboard of the iconic cover was briefly unveiled on Monday afternoon (14Feb11).
Shayk, 25, has featured in the past five SI Swimsuit Issues but she has never appeared on the cover.
