British Grammy winners LA ROUX nearly missed their chance to pick up their award - after security guards banned the duo from entering the ceremony on Sunday (13Feb11).
The electropop stars flew in from the U.K. to attend the Los Angeles prizegiving, where they were nominated for two honours, including Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording.
But frontwoman Elly Jackson admits their big night was almost ruined when bouncers stopped them at the door.
She explains, "We’ve just been trying to get here, but the security doesn’t like us. It’s been a total nightmare. We’ve spent two hours trying to find someone to get us here." The pair picked up the Best Electronic/Dance Album trophy for their self-titled debut, but lost out to Rihanna and her Only Girl (In the World) hit in the second category.

R&B singer MONICA is making plans to walk down the aisle with husband SHANNON BROWN again, after they married in secret last year (10).
The Boy Is Mine hitmaker wed the Los Angeles Lakers player in a private ceremony at her home in November (10), but now she’s planning a second celebration so they can share their wedding joy with relatives.
She tells EOnline.com, "Our first wedding was in our home, but we’re going to do it again so that our family can enjoy it. We’re going to go all out and have a good time. I’m Southern and he’s from Chicago. I’m very close to my mom and my family, but I’m also very close to my in-laws, so we just want to have one big party.
"What we did was… with each other, for each other and committed our lives to one another, so we didn’t really need anybody else there." Monica was previously engaged to rapper Rodney ‘Rocko’ Hill, the father of her two sons. They split in late 2009.

JUSTIN BIEBER made Valentine’s Day (14Feb11) extra-special for a group of sick kids in Los Angeles - he visited them in hospital and treated them to a screening of his new movie NEVER SAY NEVER.
The Baby hitmaker made a secret trip to Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA on Monday (14Feb11) and delighted the youngsters by posing for pictures and signing autographs for them.
The teenager also arranged for the children to see his new concert film, which was released in movie theatres in the U.S. on Friday (11Feb11).
In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Just finished seeing some amazing kids who couldn’t get to see NSN3D. So we surprised them (and) brought the movie to them."

SHARON OSBOURNE has reached an agreement with a reality TV reject who sued the rock matriarch for battery and negligence.
Megan Hauserman took legal action against Osbourne over claims she attacked her during a recording of U.S. TV series Rock Of Love: Charm School in December 2008.
The brawl kicked off after the contestant insulted Osbourne’s husband Ozzy, calling the former Black Sabbath star a "brain-dead rocker". The 58 year old allegedly retaliated by grabbing Hauserman by the hair and scratching her.
Attorneys for Osbourne and Hauserman confirmed on Monday (14Feb11) they had settled the case - a day before it was due to go to trial.
The terms of the deal have been kept confidential.

BRYAN ADAMS was forced to cancel a concert in India at short notice on Tuesday (15Feb11) over fears for public safety.
Authorities called off the New Delhi gig just hours before the rocker was due to take the stage at the NSIC Exhibition Centre because organisers were denied a mandatory clearance certificate.
According to local media outlets, promoters had sold approximately 20,000 tickets, but the venue only has a capacity for 6,000.
A police spokesman tells AFP, "The organisers failed to explain as to how they would manage law and order inside the ground and traffic outside. We cannot risk people’s lives. Everything has to be in place before the event begins." Promoters have confirmed the date will be rescheduled.

T.I. has been hit with a lawsuit from the family of a deceased man whose body appeared in the rapper’s reality show T.I.’S ROAD TO REDEMPTION.
Joseph Williams’ relatives claim they suffered mental distress after seeing his corpse in an episode aired on MTV in February 2009.
The body is seen in footage shot in Haugabrooks Funeral Home, where Williams was due to be cremated.
According to legal documents filed in Georgia last week (ends13Feb11), an employee can allegedly be heard in the footage "stating that the parents didn’t know what happened to their son" - a comment the family disputes.
The worker is then said to have labelled Williams a "hustler", before using him as an example to scare troubled youths out of a life of crime, reports YoRaps.com.
Williams’ family is seeking unspecified damages from T.I. and MTV bosses for mental pain, suffering, and emotional distress caused.
The TV series documented T.I.’s life in the 45 days before he began a jail sentence for felony gun charges.

The country star and his wife Tish filed for divorce in October (10), and 18-year-old Miley has been hit with a string of scandals in recent months, including gossip about her turbulent love life and outrage over footage of her smoking a legal high from a bong.
And the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker is convinced his family’s problems stem from the huge success of the Hannah Montana brand - and he’s also reportedly taken aim at his daughter’s aides for sparking a rift between the two.
New York Post gossip column PageSix reports that Billy Ray has given an interview to America’s GQ magazine in which he is quoted as saying, "The damn show destroyed my family… I hate to say it, but yes, I do (wish the show hadn’t happened). I’d take it back in a second…
"Every time (Miley’s) train went off the track… her people, or as they say in today’s news, her handlers, every time they’d put (the blame on) me… I took it because I’m her daddy… OK, nail me to the cross.
"I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm." Billy Ray also allegedly claims he refused to attend Miley’s 18th birthday party in November (10) because it was held at an over-21s bar and he feared he’d be blamed for leading his daughter astray.
He is quoted as saying, "You know why I didn’t go? Because they were having it in a bar. It was wrong. It was for 21 years old and up… all them people, they all wanted me to fly out so that then when all the bad press came they could say, ‘Daddy endorsed this stuff’. I started realising I’m being used." Billy Ray also admits confronting his daughter’s aides after the bong scandal broke, adding: "They told me it was none of my business… I should have said, ‘Enough is enough - it’s getting dangerous and somebody’s going to get hurt’… Honestly, I didn’t know the ball was out of bounds until it was way up in the stands somewhere."

LETHAL WEAPON 2 star PATSY KENSIT is on a mission to restore Britain’s abandoned playgrounds.
The British actress is spearheading the Parents for Playgrounds drive, which will hand out $22,500 (£15,000) grants for play spaces in desperate need of renovation.
And Kensit, who has a son James with Simple Minds rocker Jim Kerr and a little boy, Lennon, with Liam Gallagher, is passionate about the campaign - because she depended on her local park and the mums she met there when raising her kids.
She tells U.K. TV show Daybreak, "We’re asking parents up and down the country to nominate playgrounds in their area that they feel could be in need of repair, improvement.
"We’re going to choose five play areas and a £15,000 bursary is going to be used to renovate these areas, which is incredible in a time when we’re having so much taken away from us. It’s so generous and it’s a social mission. I’ve got two boys, 18 and 11, and this campaign is aimed at primary school children to the age of 11, so I’ve kind of lived it, I know what it’s like.
"I had my first son James when I was very young, none of my girlfriends had children. I relied heavily on going to the playground, meeting other kids, other mums I could talk to there.
"(Playgrounds are) something that I fear could disappear with computer screens, every weekend there’s a great new Pixar movie coming out. (But) it’s so important that we do get out, have fresh air and have those memories."

A celebrity snapper and movie prop worker has been jailed for seven years for sex attacks on young girls.
David Trainer, 56, was convicted of nine charges of indecent assault on four girls, one aged just six, at Inner London Crown Court.
Trainer, who took photos of Hollywood stars Jane Fonda and Bob Hoskins, and also worked as a puppeteer on 1986 movie musical Little Shop of Horrors, was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Judge Mervyn Roberts told him, "The offences were against vulnerable victims. Offending of this nature can have a profound effect."

A man accused of stalking DONALD TRUMP’s pregnant daughter IVANKA has denied deliberately tormenting her - insisting he only contacted her as "a joke".
Justin Massler was jailed in Los Angeles on Friday (11Feb11) after a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to attend a New York court hearing on six charges, including stalking in the third degree.
He is accused of bombarding Trump and her husband Jared Kushner with emails earlier this month (Feb11), violating an order to stay away from the family until 2012.
But in an interview with the New York Daily News, Massler is adamant his behaviour was loaded with irony and was merely "performance art".
He tells the publication, "I would never hurt anyone. I was just bored, writing random stuff on the Internet. I’m not interested in ever seeing her again… I said they’ll never capture me alive and mentioned a hero destiny squad, but it wasn’t threatening, just me being bored.
"I would have left them alone, but I was p**sed about the warrant… I was hitting on her ironically. It was a joke. She’s a spoiled rich kid. I told Jared it was performance art, but they took that out of the court documents."

The widow of SUPERMAN co-creator JERRY SIEGEL, who inspired the superhero’s love interest LOIS LANE, has died.
Joanne Siegel passed away on Monday (14Feb11) at the age of 93.
She was just a teenager when she placed an advertisement in a newspaper offering to model and was contacted by Siegel to be his muse for the fictional character Lane.
Siegel married Joanne in 1948 after he divorced his wife Bella. He died in 1999.

Bosses at The New York Times have spoken out about an Oscars article WHOOPI GOLDBERG branded "sloppy" for missing her off a list of previous black honorees, insisting the star read the story "incorrectly".
Goldberg used her slot as a host of U.S. talk show The View on Monday (14Feb11) to slam the publication for a report about the lack of black winners in Academy Awards history, which was published on Sunday (13Feb11).
Writers Manohla Dargis and A.O. Scott seemed to claim in a piece, entitled Hollywood and the Year of the Whiteout, that in the past 73 years, only seven black actors have won Oscars.
They referenced triumphs by the likes of Halle Berry and Denzel Washington - but film fans were left outraged by the article, because figures show 13 previous Oscar winners in the acting categories had been of black origin. Goldberg became one of the 13 when she claimed the Best Supporting Actress honour for her performance in Ghost in 1981.
Goldberg raged, "I am embarrassed to tell you, it hurt me terribly. When you win an Academy Award, that’s part of what you’ve done, your legacy. I will always be ‘Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg…’ It’s very hard not to take it personally, but this is sloppy journalism because this is not a hidden thing. Everybody kinda knows. People in Somalia know, people in China know…" Now, a representative for the publication has issued a statement clarifying the report.
A spokesperson for The New York Times tells EW.com, "The error lies with those who are reading the story incorrectly.
"The point of the piece was not to name every black actor or actress who has been awarded an Oscar, it was to draw a comparison between the number who won prior to 2002 (the year Halle Berry and Denzel Washington won) and those who have won since.
"The story states very clearly that in 73 years, prior to 2002, only seven black actors/actresses won Oscars."

LADY GAGA has addressed accusations she ripped off MADONNA’s EXPRESS YOURSELF in her new single BORN THIS WAY, insisting she’s received the Queen of Pop’s "complete support" over the track.
The pop sensation sparked a huge buzz in the lead up to releasing her highly-anticipated track, which she hailed as an anthem for a new generation, on Friday (11Feb11).
But following the release, thousands of fans, as well as online critics, pointed out the track is almost identical to Madonna’s 1989 classic.
During an interview with U.S. chat show host Jay Leno, Gaga failed to dismiss the criticisms, but insisted the Material Girl has no issue with her song - and so neither should anybody else.
She said, "There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally.

Outspoken ROSEANNE BARR has apologised to old pal OPRAH WINFREY for bashing her publicly for supporting BARACK OBAMA over HILLARY CLINTON in the last U.S. presidential race.
The comedienne appeared on Winfrey’s daytime show on Monday (14Feb11) and confessed she thought she had upset the talk show queen over online remarks she made against her when Obama was chosen to represent U.S. Democrats over Clinton.
Her comments were picked up by leading members of the media, who tried to turn the story into a big political feud between the two women.
But after Winfrey revealed she hadn’t really taken any notice of the fuss or Barr’s comments regarding her Obama support, Barr made a confession.
She stated, "I have to say now… to your face that I believe that we do have the right president for the right time." Monday’s appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show was her 10th time on the talk show - but her first for 12 years.

ALEC BALDWIN was thrilled to unveil his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (14Feb11) because his daughter with KIM BASINGER can now brag how both her parents have plaques in Tinseltown.
The 30 Rock star was presented with the 2,433rd star on Hollywood Boulevard and thanked his boss Tina Fey and castmates for reinvigorating his career.
Baldwin also praised Will & Grace star Megan Mullally, who was at the ceremony, for helping him fall in love with TV after his Emmy-winning turn on the hit show.
He told the crowd, "I made films and worked in the theater and there’s a lot of diversity there that’s kind of an advantage. But then I did Will & Grace and had the best time of my life. Working with Megan on that show… I realised it was a lot of fun. It inspired me to do this." The actor then revealed the best part of the lasting honour - his daughter Ireland will be able to visit both his and her actress mother’s stars.
He added, "I’m kind of blown away. My daughter has the distinction of both of her parents have this. I think it’s kind of cool for my kid."

Actress EMMA WATSON’s daring cropped hair has helped her win the Style Icon trophy at the Elle Style Awards in London.
The Harry Potter star was handed the top accolade at the British publication’s annual event, which celebrates the most fashionable stars.
Watson, who chopped off her flowing locks after wrapping up work on the hit franchise last year (10), was thrilled with the prize.
She says, "It feels amazing. Fashion is something that I love. I try not to think about it too much. I try and block all that off and I just do what I love and just have fun with it. I’ve definitely been feeling the pressure a bit more recently but it’s just fun for me." The actress is no stranger to fashion - she has launched her own eco-friendly collection, modelled for Burberry and is one of designer Karl Lagerfeld’s muses.

MADONNA and her ex CARLOS LEON could be teaming up to turn his mum’s restaurant dreams into reality.
The fitness trainer-turned-actor admits he’s in secret talks to open a new diner for his Cuban mother to run - and Madonna could be a partner.
He says, "My mom’s a really great cook so we’ve actually been talking about opening a restaurant for her." And Leon tells WENN one of the menu items could be his breakfast special: "I’m not a chef but I make mean eggs and breakfast stuff and great sandwiches. My signature egg recipe is a basic breakfast with scrambled eggs.
"I’m vegetarian but I eat eggs, and I have the fake bacon and some seven grain toast."
