EMINEM’S REP DENIES GRAMMY ANGER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:20 pm

A representative for EMINEM has shot down reports suggesting the rap superstar is threatening to boycott future Grammy Awards ceremonies after only landing two of the 10 honours he was nominated for this year (11).
The hip-hop star led the competition going into Sunday’s (13Feb11) event, with mentions in categories including Record of the Year (Love The Way You Lie) and Album of the Year (Recovery). He also gave one of the night’s most anticipated performances, teaming up onstage with Rihanna and rap legend Dr. Dre.
But Eminem went home with just two gongs in the rap categories - and lost out to the likes of Lady Antebellum and Arcade Fire in the top categories.
Reports alleged Eminem was "so p**sed" at missing out on the big awards after flying in to Los Angeles from his native Detroit, Michigan, especially for the prizegiving, he was unlikely to return for future Grammy Awards, which are voted for the members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
A source tells the New York Post’s Page Six column, "He got iced out. He did the Grammy people a solid favour by coming in from Detroit and performing. They egged him on and gave him the impression it would be a big night for him. Best Rap Album and Best Solo Rap Performance are nice awards, but not the big ones. It will take a lot of effort on their part to get him and Dr. Dre back to the Grammys to perform." But a spokesperson for Eminem has hit out at the claims.
The rep says, "This is untrue. He was happy to be there and perform with Dre. Voting is voting, and there’s only so much you can do about that." Justin Bieber has also responded to reports suggesting he was more than a little upset about losing the Best New Artist award to little-know jazz performer Esperanza Spalding. Spalding became the first jazz act to win the award.
Appearing on Monday’s Conan show in America, the Baby singer confessed he was "disappointed" but he understood and congratulated Spalding on her victory.

SEAGAL’S DUEL WITH DRUNK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:17 pm

Hollywood hardman STEVEN SEAGAL knocked a man unconscious when he was a martial arts instructor - because he failed to realise his challenger was drunk.
The Under Siege star is a black belt in aikido and became the first foreigner to operate a dojo training centre in Japan, after moving to the country as a teenager.
Seagal reveals locals were intrigued by his status and tough guys often challenged him to fights - but one encounter went badly wrong.
He says, "For the first couple of years people did come from all over Japan to challenge me. When they would show up when I was in the middle of teaching a class I’d be as violent and ruthless as I could be.
"There was one time, this guy says, ‘I’d like to sign up for a duel to the death with you’, and for an instant I thought, ‘F**k me man, this is the guy… I’m gonna kill him’ and I attacked. I was in the f**king air flying and I got closer to him and I realised he was just a f**king drunk.
"I’m already committed and I’m trying to put the brakes on from hitting him but he was in the air, out the door and tumbling for 20 feet and then he’s unconscious and my wife thinks I did kill him and she’s screaming, ‘You killed him, you killed him!’"

RATZENBERGER’S ONE-TIME EX DENIES GUGGENHEIM SCAM CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:17 pm

An ex-girlfriend of former CHEERS star JOHN RATZENBERGER has pleaded not guilty to accusations she posed as an associate of the art world’s famous Guggenheim family to scam millions out of investors.
Federal authorities allege Catarina Pietra Toumei claimed she was a countess from the famed New York family and said she was married to the TV star in a bid to dupe top businessmen, including executives from drinks giant Coca-Cola.
Toumei reportedly teamed up with 67-year-old David Birnbaum and Vladimir Zuravel, 45, who passed themselves off as David B. Guggenheim and Vladimir Z. Guggenheim, and told potential investors she was in charge of brokering deals for the Guggenheim Fund and Guggenheim Bank - both of which were non-existent organisations.
The 45-year-old blonde appeared in Manhattan Federal Court on Monday (14Feb11) and denied involvement in the scheme. Her lawyer, Jan Ronis, claims the Californian never met her alleged co-conspirators and was hired over the phone to sell investments on commission - although she didn’t make any sales, reports the New York Daily News.
Ronis says, "Her role in this alleged conspiracy was certainly not criminal." Ratzenberger rapidly distanced himself from his one-time lover when the scandal emerged in January (11). Toumei is free on $200,000 (£133,330).

But he ended his hiatus from the wrestling world at a taping of the WWE’s Monday Night Raw in Anaheim, California, where he received thunderous applause upon entering the arena.
Stepping into the ring, The Rock sent fans into a frenzy as he delivered his trademark catchphrase, "Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?" He then announced, "I am back in the middle of this ring because of you. Thank you, I love you and it is because of you that I am back in this ring. I give you my word, I am never, ever going away. AGRON’S TEARS OVER GLEE GUEST NICKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:32 pm

DIANNA AGRON was moved to tears when STEVIE NICKS visited the GLEE set earlier this month (Feb11) after the singer delivered a moving speech about the importance of music in schools.
The actress and her co-stars were left awestruck when the Fleetwood Mac legend arrived for a day on the set of the high school series last week (ends13Feb11).
Nicks revealed to the cast she would have been a teacher had she not been a musician - and Agron was overcome with emotion when the star gave her motivating talk.
She tells Entertainment Tonight, "We had the pleasure of Stevie Nicks being on set… she kind of made us all cry because she came and she said, ‘If I hadn’t been a musician, I would have been a teacher. And I would’ve hoped to send this message to kids - that although there are very important things like math and science and learning, you know, kind of the things that get you through life, there’s also you need to find joy. And whether that’s through music or dance or things like that, you need to have outlets in your life.’"

WALSH HITS BACK AT SIR ELTON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:29 pm

GIRLS ALOUD star KIMBERLEY WALSH has blasted SIR ELTON JOHN for slating the British girl band - branding his comments "nasty" and "in bad taste".
The Rocket Man took aim at pop stars who lip-synch on stage, insisting singers such as The Saturdays and Walsh’s Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole are "c**p".
Now Walsh has hit back, admitting she was "sad" to read his remarks but warning it’s dangerous for him to "slag people off".
In her column for Britain’s OK! magazine, she writes, "Last week, I was disappointed to hear Sir Elton John slating British pop music, including Girls Aloud. I’ve always had a lot of respect for him so it’s a shame that he said those things… Elton criticised artists for miming and if you’re an artist who stands there singing ballads then to lip-synch is quite ridiculous, but it’s got to be relative to what type of act you are.
"I don’t think you can criticise it so passively. Even if you have a really strong opinion, I don’t think it ever pays to slag people off (insult them) in such a derogatory way, it’s in bad taste. You can put your view across without being so nasty. But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt - perhaps he was in a bad mood because (baby son) Zachary had kept him up all night!"

SLASH SELLING CAR AND GUITARS AT AUCTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Rocker SLASH’s beloved Corvette Stingray, two of his trademark top hats and a collection of his guitars are set to go under the hammer at an auction next month (Mar11).
The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist is selling a wide range of belongings, including exotic Southeast Asian furniture, customised clothing and rock memorabilia through Julien’s Auctions.
He’s also selling model dinosaurs, jewellery and 14 guitars, including the Guild acoustic on which he recorded Guns N’ Roses 1989 ballad Patience.
The star lot is Slash’s 1966 Corvette Stingray, which he describes as a "monster of a car" and is expected to fetch at least $90,000 (£60,000) when it goes under the hammer.
The vehicle has been sitting in storage, but Slash admits he struggled to let go of it since it was the first set of wheels he purchased after finding fame with the Welcome to the Jungle hitmakers.
He tells Reuters, "I have a bad habit of collecting stuff that I don’t necessarily use (but) I know that somebody would love to have that car because muscle cars are very, very popular." A share of the proceeds from the 26 March (11) sale will go to a charity for abused and homeless teens.

GAGA HAD DESIGNERS UP ALL NIGHT WITH GRAMMY DEMANDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

LADY GAGA threw her design team into a panic in the run-up to her big performance at Sunday’s (13Feb11) Grammy Awards - she scrapped all the costumes two days before the ceremony because she didn’t like them.
The Paparazzi hitmaker released her highly-anticipated single, Born This Way, on Friday (11Feb11) and played it live for the first time at the prizegiving.
Gaga admits her own sci-fi inspired look during the set and the nude-coloured outfits her dancers sported onstage were last minute decisions - causing her fashion designers at Haus of Gaga to stay up all night preparing the costumes.
She tells U.S. talk show host Jay Leno, "I actually designed all the clothes for myself and the dancers, and it was two days before the performance, I changed everything because I didn’t like the clothing. And I felt so bad because the Haus of Gaga was all red-eyed and up all night and I would be like, ‘I hate it, we have to change everything!’ And they would be like (squeaking), ‘OK, OK.’" But Gaga insists she only changed her mind at short notice because she wanted everyone to look part of one big team to emphasise the meaning behind Born This Way.
She says, "You know because they looked like dancers in the outfits we had and I’m so close with them, and Laurieann Gibson, my choreographer, everyone that’s in the Haus of Gaga, all the creators, we’re so close, everyone in the band, and I don’t want them to feel like, the band and dancers behind me, because the performance of Born This Way is nothing without all of them, it’s about togetherness."

BROWN’S JIBE AT RECORD BOSSES AFTER GRAMMYS SNUB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

CHRIS BROWN has reacted after missing out on a Grammy Award on Sunday night (13Feb11), blaming the snub on "politics" in the music industry.
The singer was up for three trophies at the prestigious prizegiving, including the Best Contemporary R&B Album for Graffiti, but he lost out in each category.
He took to his Twitter.com page after the ceremony to assure followers he wasn’t bothered, writing, "To all the fans!! I love y’all. Don’t be upset!! This industry is based on politics and a**kissing! My only concern is Team Breezy! F**k everybody else!" The message was later removed and replaced by a more positive post, which read: "I’m just happy to be able to make music!! Team Breezy rocks." Brown was also nominated for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for Take My Time, and he lost the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ anthem Empire State of Mind.

TAYLOR PREGNANT MONTHS AFTER LOSING CUSTODY OF SON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

British actress/socialite DAVINIA TAYLOR is pregnant - just months after she lost full custody of her three-year-old son.
Taylor, who starred in longrunning U.K. TV drama Hollyoaks, was given just limited access to her child at a court hearing last September (10) following her bitter divorce from sports agent David Gardner.
But the millionairess is smiling again after learning she’s expecting another boy five months into the pregnancy.
She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, "I didn’t find out until I was over five months. I missed my September period, but thought it was due to the stress of my divorce… I went to Mexico for New Year to a nature reserve. I was meditating on the sunlounger and felt a kick each side of my stomach. I phoned the concierge and this poor guy had to drive four hours to the nearest town to get a pregnancy test, and it was all in Spanish." Taylor has refused to name the baby’s father but reveals he’s been a friend for years, although they are not in a relationship.

COSTNER WANTS BALDWIN’S LAWSUIT DISMISSED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

KEVIN COSTNER has asked a federal judge to dismiss a multi-million dollar lawsuit accusing him of duping STEPHEN BALDWIN into giving up his shares in a pioneering oil-cleaning technology.
Baldwin sued the Dances With Wolves star in December (10), claiming he should have benefited from Costner’s success after he introduced an oil-filtration device to help clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill last year (10).
BP bosses reportedly invested more than $50 million (£33 million) in the gadget, pioneered by Costner and his inventor brother.
Baldwin is demanding more than $4 million (£2.7 million) from the actor, but Costner has filed to dismiss the legal action.
In a motion filed earlier this month (Feb11), Costner insists he played no official role within the company in distributing the machines.
He also argues that The Usual Suspects star Baldwin has inadequately provided any proof of how Costner duped him into selling his shares.
Costner’s filing states: "Plaintiffs fail to allege facts that attribute even a single untrue statement made by Costner, fail to allege facts from which the Court can infer that Costner intended to deceive or mislead the Plaintiffs, and fail to set forth any facts demonstrating that Plaintiffs actually relied on any false or misleading statement made by Costner."
