ROGER DALTREY can’t understand why rocker LIAM GALLAGHER is labelled "difficult" - insisting he’s a pleasure to deal with in comparison to his late THE WHO bandmate KEITH MOON.
The musician has signed up Gallagher’s new band Beady Eye to play at his annual charity shows in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust next month (Mar11) and admits he’s shocked to find the famously fiery star is a "sweetheart".
But Daltrey insists years of dealing with late drummer Moon’s wild ways make it easier to cope with any demanding star.
He tells the U.K.’s Absolute Radio, "I love him. Everybody says, ‘Oh he’s a bit difficult isn’t he?’ I’ve always found him an absolute sweetheart.
"Listen, after Keith Moon everybody’s easy. After Keith Moon and (The Who guitarist) Pete Townshend everything’s easy, let me tell you. Liam’s a very talented guy, very funny guy, very witty guy and much cleverer than people give him credit for. Yeah, I love it, Liam is a real rock star. He is 100 per cent the real deal."

Model-turned-actress ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY had no clue she was auditioning to replace MEGAN FOX when she first read for TRANSFORMERS bosses - she thought she was up for a big screen baddie role.

But Huntington-Whiteley insists she had no idea she was up for the female lead in the third installment - and was convinced she’d messed up her chance at movie success.
She tells Britain’s Daily Express, "I went to the casting unaware they were looking for a new female lead. We were told it was for a ‘nemesis’ role. I left thinking I was awful. The next day I was offered the lead! "I met Shia LaBeouf that evening and within three weeks I was shooting my first scenes."

FRANK SINATRA impersonator CARY HOFFMAN has been given the all-clear to return to his off-Broadway production MY SINATRA - A MUSICAL ABOUT OBSESSION after suffering a heart attack during the show.
Hoffman, 70, was performing onstage at New York’s The Triad theatre on Saturday night (12Feb11) when he felt agonising pains in his chest.
The New York Daily News reports Hoffman suffered a heart attack and was taken to hospital after the show, and a cardiologist later pronounced him fit to return to the musical play this weekend (19-20Feb11).

Former child star FRANKIE MUNIZ has moved on from a domestic dispute with his girlfriend by treating her to a romantic meal on Valentine’s Day (14Feb11).
Cops were called to the actor’s home in Arizona on Friday (11Feb11) after an altercation with his girlfriend, Elycia Turnbow, during which he reportedly held a loaded gun to his head and allegedly punched her.
Muniz’s rep slammed reports he was suicidal and insisted a "gun played no part" in the feud.
Just 24 hours after the argument the former Malcolm In The Middle star took Turnbow on a date to the Martini Ranch bar in Scottsdale, where they were acting "completely care free", reports TMZ.com.
And on Monday (14Feb11), Muniz took to his Twitter.com page to demonstrate his love for Turnbow by tweeting a picture of a dinner table set out with red roses and petals, with the words, "The table’s all set for Valentine’s Day dinner… I love @elyciamarie".

STAR WARS actress CARRIE FISHER has electro-shock therapy once every six weeks to help her cope with manic depression that turns her mind into a ball of "cement".
The movie star-turned-author was diagnosed as a bipolar sufferer in her 20s and has battled mental illness and severe bouts of depression ever since.
And in an extremely candid TV chat with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in America on Tuesday (15Feb11), Fisher revealed she has learned to cope with severe lows thanks to shock therapy.
She told the stunned TV talk show queen, "Did you see (film) One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest? Well, it’s (electro-shock therapy) not like that… A lot of people have had it that benefited from it.
"They put you to sleep, they give you a medication so there are no more convulsions or anything… It’s over very quickly and you go home and take a nap… I had it when I did get into depression that medication could not handle." And the actress admits she has even learned to stay positive about the memory loss she suffers following the sessions: "I don’t remember movies I’ve seen, so I get to see them over and over again." Her proud mother Debbie Reynolds, who joined her on the Oprah Winfrey Show, teared up as she spoke about the benefits of the treatment.
The movie icon said, "I admire her strength and survival and I admire that she is alive, that she has chosen to make it. It would have been easy to give up and to give in." But Reynolds is saddened by the fact her daughter will never be naturally happy without medication: "I want happiness for my daughter and I can’t have that."

DAME JUDI DENCH has broken two of her toes on the set of movie J. EDGAR, according to a U.S. report.
The veteran British actress is starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts in the biopic of former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.
Dench revealed she had injured her feet during filming for the movie when she tried to book herself in for a pedicure at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, reports New York Post gossip column Page Six.
Editors at the publication claim Dench told beauty technicians they would have to treat her battered feet carefully because she had broken two toes.

JANET JACKSON is relying on a higher power to decide her future family plans, but insists she’d shower her children with love if she becomes a parent.
The Nasty hitmaker, 44, has never committed to having children, and has revealed the only time she ever seriously considered becoming a mother was when she met producer Jermaine Dupri, who she split from in 2009 after seven years of dating.
But the star admits that since the breakdown of that relationship, she is leaving her future in the lap of the gods.
She tells CNN’s Piers Morgan, "I’ve given that up to God. I never really thought about having children until I got with Jermaine Dupri, when he and I were together. That was the first time I really wanted to have children. I felt comfortable in the relationship at that time. How he would be as a father, how he is as a father - he has a little girl. But we’re not together anymore so I don’t know if I’ll have kids. But I’ve really given it up to God, if it’s meant to be.
"I hope (I’d make a great mother). Everyone for the longest has told me I make a great mother, and I’d ask why, and they’d say, ‘You’re very nurturing, you take care of people all the time,’ so I don’t know." And when asked what she’d do differently from her disciplinarian dad Joseph, she replied, "(I’d give kids) a lot of attention, a lot of love, spend a lot of time (with them). I’d let them know how much I loved them all the time. They’d know. They wouldn’t have to work, guess."

JANET JACKSON has revealed the pressure on famous women to look good and stay slim is so intense, some stars eat tissue to stop hunger pangs.
The Nasty hitmaker is open about her own longstanding issues with food and her weight, insisting she is an emotional eater whose problems with self-esteem stem from her time as a child actor on hit TV show Good Times.
During a candid interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Jackson admits famous females are falling victim to the pressure of looking perfect all the time due to constant scrutiny, and insists some of her peers push their body to the limits to maintain their figure.
She tells the newsman, "It’s crazy, it’s crazy. That’s why I think a lot of the women today swing in the opposite direction. They’re under eating. Some of the stories I hear… I’m not going to name names (but) this is the worst. Eating tissue, Kleenex, so it fills the stomach. So you’re full. So you don’t want another bite to eat and so that’s what you eat." And Jackson is adamant focusing on famous women’s weight has a negative affect on young fans.
She adds, "It’s crazy. So then for the kids, for them to look up and think this is what I want to look like or think they have to look like and want to go on a diet from a very young age and not living life as a kid. I was told at a very young age on Good Times that I needed to go on a diet, I was only 11, 12. I look back on those shows and I wasn’t a heavy kid. And like I said, some people can brush it right off but others, they internalise it. That was me."

LADY GAGA took her ‘rebirth’ at the Grammy Awards very seriously - she was transported from her hotel in Los Angeles to the factory where her custom-made eggs were built in a coffin-like incubator.
The oddball performance artist arrived at the Grammys in one of the eggs, designed by British artist Hussein Chalayan and built by late Muppet creator Jim Henson’s team, and ‘hatched’ from another onstage for her performance of new song Born This Way.
But the bizarre day began with Gaga being wheeled out of her hotel in a mesh box.
The singer’s creative director and choreographer Laurieann Gibson explains, "She was incubating and, in birthing the new race, she had to go through a DNA transition, so before she was born we had to actually transfer her in a mesh box to keep the process going." Controversial filmmaker JULIEN TEMPLE is the odd choice of director for a new MARVIN GAYE biopic.
Temple, the man behind punk movies Jubilee and The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle, has reportedly accepted the challenge of picking up the film that both Cameron Crowe and F. Gary Gary abandoned.
According to ScreenDaily.com, the film will focus on Gaye’s final studio album, Midnight Love, which was recorded in Belgium, where the soul legend was living in tax exile.
Temple will shoot the film in Ostend - the town Gaye called home in the early 1980s.
No one has been cast as the tragic Sexual Healing singer yet.

Country music star BRAD PAISLEY’s artistic skills are paying off - the CELEBRITY singer’s sunset painting of a lonesome pine has sold for $5,500 (£3,670) at a charity auction.
Paisley himself was stunned when the artpiece sold during a sale at the La Fete du Cinema fundraiser for the Nashville Film Festival on Monday (14Feb11).

Supermodel CHRISTIE BRINKLEY had no idea who BILLY JOEL was when she first met her husband-to-be in the early 1980s, while he was playing piano in a club.
The stunner was out with pals Whitney Houston and Elle MacPherson when the trio became transfixed by Joel’s piano skills.
Brinkley knew that the man before her was a big star, but she’d spent so long modelling in Europe she had no idea just how big he was.

Thousands of revellers, including British royal CHARLES, PRINCE OF WALES, flooded into London’s Westminster Abbey to celebrate the life of Australian opera star DAME JOAN SUTHERLAND on Tuesday (15Feb11).
The soprano passed away in October (10) at the age of 83 and her life was remembered by royalty, politicians and fans in a special service at the impressive historical venue.
Her music was played at the ceremony before Dame Norma Major - wife of former U.K. Prime Minister John Major - praised the late star as being born with a "God-given talent".
She added, "Her voice was instantly recognisable and generated the excitement in the theatre that is the hallmark of a truly great singer." The service was organised by the Australian High Commission and follows a similar tribute at the Sydney Opera House last November (10).

Embattled rap mogul MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT is in trouble again - his truck was impounded on Tuesday (15Feb11) after he was reportedly caught driving on a suspended licence.
The former Death Row Records’ CEO spent a night behind bars last December (10) after he failed to show up to court in relation to a charge of driving on a suspended licence and running a stop sign in September (10). He was later released with a citation.
And on Tuesday, Knight’s vehicle was pulled over by cops in Beverly Hills and was towed away after officers realised he has no legal licence. He was once again handed a citation, according to TMZ.com.
The website reports the stranded star asked a female driver to give him a lift to a nearby location and she agreed.

Revealing that her dad wasn’t much of a father when she was growing up, the actress admits, "I realised he’s not a parent. If I wanted a relationship with him, he need to be taken care of. The dancer took the stand to testify against the man when she was just six and he was jailed for 20 years. Now in his 90s, he was released in 2008 - and Burke is terrified of running into him.
She says, "What I hear is he is stationed in a hospital near my neighbourhood somewhere. You always wonder if he’s watching Dancing With the Stars."
