ADELE’S ALBUM INSPIRED BY MUMFORD & SONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:32 pm

Soul singer ADELE has credited folk rockers MUMFORD & SONS with the success of her latest album - because their melancholy songs inspired her heartache tracks.
The Brit released 21 last month (Jan11) and it shot to the top of the U.K. chart, receiving critical and commercial acclaim.
Adele fought back tears as she delivered an emotional rendition of album track Someone Like You at Tuesday’s (15Feb11) Brit Awards, which she later confessed was prompted by memories of her ex-boyfriend.
The star has now revealed her inspiration for 21 was Mumford & Sons’ 2009 album Sigh No More.
She tells Britain’s Absolute Radio, "That Mumford record was me and my ex’s album. If it wasn’t for that album I don’t think I’d be as emotionally drained as I am and not as emotionally exhausted and not been able to write this album.
"So I’ve got to be a bit thankful really cos it’s doing really well!" And Adele would jump at the chance to collaborate with the band, adding: "Absolutely! I think I’ve told them that too."

JONAS EYES GLEE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:29 pm

Singer NICK JONAS has appealed to the makers of hit TV show GLEE to offer him a cameo - insisting he’d be "honoured" if he could appear in an episode.
The Jonas Brothers star is a fan of the all-singing-all-dancing programme and is pleased music has become so "popular" again through the series.
And he’s keen to join the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Olivia Newton-John by landing a small role in the high school drama.
He says, "I really do appreciate the use of music in Glee. I think everyone can relate that’s in the music business. Everyone’s just thankful that music is kind of popular again because Glee does a great job of incorporating it into the show.
"I would humbly say that if there’s ever an opportunity they see that I could work well on that show, I would be honoured. Plus I think that cast is really talented - it would be fun."

VALENSI FEARED STROKES WERE FORGOTTEN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:29 pm

THE STROKES star NICK VALENSI feared fans had long forgotten about the band when they announced a new album after a five-year hiatus.
The New York rockers shot to fame in 2001 with their debut album Is This It, but decided on an extended break after they finished promoting their third record, First Impressions of Earth, in 2006.
They are due to release their comeback album, Angles, next month (Mar11) - and guitarist Valensi admits he was scared the band’s popularity had waned after so long out of the spotlight.
He tells NME magazine, "There was a fear on my part that, having taken such a long time off, people would have forgotten about us. Not forgotten, but that all the work we’d done would have been all for nought, and we would have to start again at a lower level. But that hasn’t been the case at all."

BIEBER PLANS TO KEEP PRIVATE LIFE TO HIMSELF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:29 pm

JUSTIN BIEBER refuses to be drawn on reports he’s dating Disney actress SELENA GOMEZ, insisting his private life is nobody else’s business.
The longtime friends are said to be romantically involved and gossip about a budding relationship was fuelled when the young stars were photographed together on holiday in St. Lucia last month (Jan11).
The Wizards of Waverly Place star’s onscreen mother Maria Canals-Barrera seemingly confirmed the rumoured romance earlier this month (Feb11), commenting, "He’s very sweet. I’ve met him a few times. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be for two superstars like that to actually have a budding romance, but I wish them the very best. From what I have seen so far he’s a nice young man." But despite the speculation around the pair, Baby hitmaker Bieber has vowed to remain tight-lipped about the gossip.
He tells ITN News, "I don’t think it’s really anyone’s business what my private life is. Some things you just have to keep to yourself."

BLUR RECORDING AGAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

Reformed British band BLUR are recording tracks for their first new album since 2003 - but fans face a six-year wait to hear the songs.
The Parklife hitmakers revealed last year (10) they were planning to record as Blur once again, but in January (11), drummer Dave Rowntree claimed they had still not entered a studio together.
Now guitarist Graham Coxon has revealed Blur are recording tracks sporadically - although it could be a long time before they’re released.
He tells NME magazine, "I suppose every now and then we like to meet up and record a few things. Whether it sees the light of day or not is a different thing. We just do stuff when we feel like it. I’d quite like to have a bit of time so you can really get stuck in.
"Well, I doubt it (will be released this year). Because all we’re doing is getting together every now and then when we really feel the need. We don’t feel obliged in that way. That kind of thing f**ked Blur up in the first place - the obligation, the work. Especially with me… We’re going to do it regularly. I suppose it might turn into an LP in six years or something." Blur’s last album was Think Tank, released in 2003.

Police lieutenant Tawatchai Jongyingcharoen says, "(The crowd) started throwing bottles at the stadium building, breaking windows and vandalising tents and beer booths outside the venue. Some of the tents were set on fire." Now the Deftones have reached out to their fans to apologise.
In a post on Twitter.com, a representative writes, "Due to local power issues that threatened the safety of the band and their fans, Deftones were forced to cancel their show last night at the Thunderdome in Bangkok, Thailand. Deftones would like to apologise to those that were inconvenienced and hope to return to Thailand in the near future. Refund info to follow soon." JANET & MICHAEL JACKSON HANDED OUT DINNERS TO HOMELESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:26 pm

MICHAEL and JANET JACKSON cruised the streets of Los Angeles handing out dinners to homeless people.
The superstar singer has opened up about her colourful past and her personal issues in a new book True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself, and writes about her closeness to her late Thriller hitmaker brother, who died in 2009.
And during a candid chat with Piers Morgan on his CNN show, Jackson reveals her favourite memory with Michael is when the famous pair would hand out hot dinners to down-and-outs.
She recalls, "Mike and I were very close. We used to go to this restaurant called Love’s, I don’t think it’s there anymore, and we used to get a ton of dinners. And we’d drive around in the car looking for homeless people to give them to.
"We used to do it all the time, and just give them food. And one guy said, ‘I don’t want your stinking food!’ And I was like, ‘Let’s get out of here!’ He (Michael) was the one who was driving and I was the one passing out the food. But that’s the only time there was any sort of rejection."

OSBOURNE DEFENDS LEWIS’ IMAGE REVAMP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:23 pm

KELLY OSBOURNE has jumped to the defence of LEONA LEWIS for undergoing a drastic image overhaul, insisting "people are so mean" to suggest she’s had cosmetic surgery.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker stepped out in a series of uncharacteristically quirky outfits last week (end13Feb11), including a pair of huge red lips as a bra and a massive bright yellow bow top.
Lewis, who is planning her own fashion line, also sparked rumours she has gone under the knife to reduce the size of her nose.
But Osbourne is adamant it shouldn’t matter how Lewis achieved her new image - because "she looks beautiful whatever".
In her weekly column in Britain’s Closer magazine, Osbourne writes, "I cannot understand why there was such a fuss over pictures of Leona Lewis wearing unusual dresses last week - she’s a beautiful girl and I love it when women take a bit of a fashion risk! "And people are so mean to speculate over whether she’s had a nose job or not. I have no idea if she has or if she wants one, but I think she looks beautiful whatever.
"And if she did have one - so what? It’s her face! If that makes her or anyone else feel more comfortable and confident, so be it."

HARDING’S CHARITY TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:23 pm

GIRLS ALOUD star SARAH HARDING has spoken of her "humbling" trip to South Africa to raise funds for U.K. charity Comic Relief.
The British singer was asked to take part in a trek for the cause in 2009, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with her bandmates Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh - but she was unable to join in because she suffers from a bad back.
Now Harding has travelled to Cape Town to visit mothers2mothers, a project which supports HIV positive parents, and to promote Comic Relief’s fundraising Red Nose Day, which will take place on 18 March (11).
And the singer feels "uplifted" by the experience, telling Britain’s Daily Star, "To see the strength these people have is so humbling. I’m amazed at how strong these women and children are… I was asked to do the climb with them (Cole and Walsh) but couldn’t because I have a dodgy back.
"I’ve supported Comic Relief for many years, so when the opportunity came up to visit a project with British Airways I was keen to go. But having never visited Cape Town, or a township, I didn’t know what to expect. I was told about the poverty here but to be truly passionate about it I had to see it with my own eyes and talk to the people about it.
"I met some exceptional people who are facing unimaginable circumstances. It was a privilege to witness the work and I came away feeling uplifted." Other stars who are backing this year’s (11) Red Nose Day include Keira Knightley, David Beckham and Sir Paul McCartney, who have teamed up for a TV sketch, which also includes Rupert Grint, George Michael and funnyman James Corden.

RONSON: ‘GRAMMYS ARE TOO STIFF’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

MARK RONSON prefers attending the Brit Awards to the Grammys, because the American music prizegiving is "quite stiff".
The beatmaker missed out on the British Male honour at the London ceremony on Tuesday night (15Feb11), but despite the snub he is adamant he always enjoys the event more than the Grammy Awards.
He tells ITN News, "I think the Grammys has a certain cache because it is international and in some ways America acts like it is the world but a lot of the same acts - Arcade Fire and Cee Lo (Green) - that were playing at the Grammys are playing here (at the Brits) and you’ve got booze here.
"Add those two things together and it’s kind of better. Grammys can be quite stiff. Wonderful, wonderful prestigious award, but very stiff."
