Actress CHRISTINA APPLEGATE faced a traumatic first trimester while she was pregnant with her baby girl after coming down with a bad case of bronchitis.
The Anchorman star and her fiance, musician Martyn LeNoble, welcomed little Sadie Grace in January (11), but Applegate admits the early stages of impending motherhood were hell - because the illness, coupled with her out-of-control hormones, turned her into a weeping mess.
She tells People magazine, "You don’t want to be nauseated and coughing up a lung. It was horrifying. I slept in a dark room for two months, crying, going, ‘This cannot be the way this is supposed to be!’" Applegate, who beat breast cancer in 2009, previously confessed to experiencing terrible mood swings that would make her unleash her temper on strangers at any given moment.

Actor CHARLIE SHEEN has personally thanked the firefighters who rushed him to hospital after an all-night party left him with a hernia by gifting them with special knives.
The actor was wheeled out of his home on a stretcher after the emergency workers responded to a call from his home last month (Jan11).
He has credited them for helping to save his life and earlier this week (beg14Feb11), the Two And A Half Men star dropped by their fire station to give his heroes top-of-the-range Leatherman multi-tool knives.
He told TMZ.com, "Compared to me, these guys are true heroes."

JOHNNY DEPP gave his partner VANESSA PARADIS a rousing standing ovation as the French singer performed a rare U.S. gig in New York on Wednesday (16Feb11).
The movie star sat in the front row of the balcony for the show, which included many of Paradis’ hits and a touching rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
He joined fans in giving the singer a standing ovation at the end of the Town Hall gig, before heading backstage to congratulate Paradis and leading her through a mass of fans to escape in a waiting car.

Singer MARINA DIAMANDIS regrets lashing out at LILY ALLEN when she was an up-and-coming artist, insisting her own "insecurities" prompted the catty comments.
The 25 year old, also known by her stage name of Marina and the Diamonds, made headlines in 2008 when she blasted the Smile hitmaker for her lifestyle choices.
Diamandis said, "She was quite good until she wrecked it all by turning into everything she’s not. i.e. going on a diet, dyeing her hair slapper-blonde and flashing her boobies." The frontwoman admits she’s now ashamed of her remarks - and is just thankful Allen hasn’t held a grudge.
She tells Britain’s Company magazine, "I’ve met her since and she was fine. It was really more my insecurities and youth that led me to say that stuff.
"No one attacks or criticises someone else unless they’re feeling horrible themselves. My perspective has changed - four years ago my response was to attack women who I didn’t think were a good example, but now I don’t have a judgement on other women and how they dress or act."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ 2004 video for TOXIC has been voted her fans’ favourite in a new online poll.
As devotees eagerly await the premiere of her latest promo for Hold It Against Me, which will be posted online on Thursday (17Feb11), Billboard bosses asked them to pick their favourite.
Toxic was the clear winner with 27 per cent of the vote; I’m A Slave 4 U came in second with 15 per cent, and Womanizer was third with 10 per cent.

MADONNA’s ex-lover CARLOS LEON has spoken out about his concerns for the couple’s teenage daughter LOURDES following the family meltdown surrounding MILEY CYRUS.
The fitness trainer-turned-actor admits he feels for Cyrus’ father Billy Ray, who recently blamed his daughter’s Disney show Hannah Montana for wrecking the family and admitted he’s often embarrassed by the teenager’s actions.
The Achy Breaky Heart singer even missed out on Miley’s raucous 18th birthday party last year (10) because he didn’t think it was smart to have it in a bar when the legal drinking age is 21.
Leon states his heart goes out to the upset dad - because his daughter is growing up and he won’t like all the things she does.
He says, "I have to deal with that as well… I always say you should always communicate.
"I tell her (Lourdes) to be careful and who to be careful with… (but) I think she’s got a good head on her shoulders." And Leon admits having Madonna as the mother of his child is perfect: "She’s the disciplinarian, I’m the one that listens… It works out perfectly… We’re on the same track with her."

The father of sibling classical music group THE 5 BROWNS has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing three of his daughters when they were kids.
Last week (ends11Feb11) Keith Scott Brown, 55, was charged with abusing Desirae, now 32, Deondra, now 30, and 26-year-old Melody, who front the popular group.
He appeared in court in Utah on Thursday (17Feb11) and pleaded guilty to sodomy on a child under 14, and two charges of sex abuse of a child.
He faces at least 10 years behind bars when he’s sentenced at the end of March (11).
A statement from the group thanks fans and friends for "their concern and prayers on our behalf during this trying time."

Rocker BRET MICHAELS is eager to get back onstage just weeks after undergoing heart surgery, insisting he’s "pumped" to head out on tour.
The Poison frontman was diagnosed with a heart condition last year (10) and medics operated on him to repair a hole in his heart last month (Jan11).
Michaels is currently recovering at home, but he admits he can’t wait to get out and perform again.
He says, "I am pumped to get back on the road and start rocking out onstage for all my awesome fans." And the singer’s spokesperson reveals Michaels is gradually returning to his daily activities.
His representative tells People.com, "Bret Michaels is bouncing back slowly but surely to good health. After taking time to rest and recuperate from his recent heart procedure, he’s already getting back into his active lifestyle by working out and running on the treadmill."

Rocker GEEZER BUTLER has ruled out another BLACK SABBATH reunion, insisting the four original members of the heavy rock supergroup will never work together in a studio or on stage.
The bassist has released a statement amid mounting speculation suggesting the band is set for a reunion.
He says, "I would like to make it clear… that there will be definitely no reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour." Drummer Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne have often spoken about the chances of a reunion in recent years, and fans were hopeful last year (10) when Osbourne and guitarist Tony Iommi ended their public feud over the name rights to the band.
Osbourne recently revealed he and his former bandmates were in the "talking process" regarding a new album.

British actor HENRY CAVILL had to pass the costume test before he won the role of SUPERMAN in CHRISTOPHER NOLAN and ZACK SNYDER’s new movie - he had to wear a replica of the outfit CHRISTOPHER REEVE wore in 1978.
The producer and director had to make sure their pick for the Man of Steel looked the part - and insisted on putting him in the much-maligned suit Reeve’s Superman wore.
Snyder tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "If you can put on that suit and pull it off, that’s an awesome achievement." The Tudors star Cavill admits he was worried about what he’d look like in the replica outfit - because he’d lost all the muscle he’d gained for mythical action movie Immortals.
He tells the publication, "All I could think was, ‘Oh, God, they’re going to look at me and go: He’s not Superman. Not a chance.’ "The actor inside me was going, ‘You’re not ready! You’re not ready!’" But 300 director Snyder was suitably impressed: "He walked out and no one laughed. Other actors put that suit on and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go, ‘Wow. OK, this is Superman’."

Actor LIAM NEESON has discovered a snag in the Oscars officials’ decision to nominate 10 Best Films - busy voters like him don’t have the time to watch all the movies in contention.
The Schindler’s List star has been a member of the Academy for the last few years, and as such, receives screener copies of the films up for the top Oscar - but he never gets around to watching them.
He confesses, "There’s just not enough hours in the day, so I personally voted for the past two years because I think it’s not fair if I see two films and I don’t see the other 40."

Latino moviemaker GUILLERMO DEL TORO and NICK CAVE are teaming up for a creepy new take on the PINOCCHIO fairytale.
Del Toro will produce the stop-motion animated film, while Cave will provide the movie’s score.
The director insists his version of Pinocchio will be more faithful to Carlo Colodi’s dark fairytale than the 1940 animated Disney musical.
Del Toro, who is also co-writing the movie’s screenplay, has stepped aside as the project’s director, according to Deadline.com, and Gris Grimly and Mark Gustafson have taken on the film between them.

A stuntman injured on the set of THE HANGOVER sequel has been transferred to a hospital in his native Australia, two months after the movie accident in Thailand.
Action star Scott McLean, whose film credits include The Matrix and Ghost Rider, was shooting a daring road stunt as a body double for actor Ed Helms on 17 December (10) when a truck and a car collided.
He was taken to a local medical centre to receive treatment for a severe brain injury and later moved to a hospital in Bangkok, where he was reportedly placed in a medically-induced coma.
McLean’s progress has been slow, but he was recently transported to a hospital in Sydney, where his friends and family have been keeping a bedside vigil.
His partner, Raelene Chapman, reveals McLean, 40, is conscious and he was able to smile for the first time since the accident last week (10Feb11).
She tells The Hollywood Reporter, "One of his friends walked in the room, and his eyes lit up. And there was that infectious smile for the first time. It was the best thing I’ve ever seen." However, the longterm effects of the horrific accident won’t be known for months - and Chapman and the McLean family are just hoping for the best.
She says, "Great things can come. We’ve just got to hope he’s one of those miracle stories." Bosses at Warner Bros., the studio behind The Hangover movie, have covered all medical and transportation costs as the stuntman continues to receive advanced care.

Actress AMANDA SEYFRIED has jumped to the defence of her reported new boyfriend RYAN PHILLIPPE over allegations the CRASH star was snubbed by RIHANNA.
Reports suggested Phillippe attempted to chat Rihanna up at a party on 12 February (11) - and she turned down his advances - but Seyfried insists the story is false, although she won’t go so far as to suggest she’s dating the hunk.

PARIS HILTON’s boyfriend CY WAITS will have to wait until August (11) before he can fight to clear his name as drug charges mount up against him from his arrest in Las Vegas last summer (10).
The former nightclub boss and Hilton were pulled over by cops on the Las Vegas Strip and booked after officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Hilton is currently serving a year of probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanour cocaine possession and obstruction of justice, and Waits is facing a felony of being under the influence of marijuana, and misdemeanour driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
Waits was expected to be arraigned in Las Vegas Justice Court on Thursday (17Feb11) - the same day Hilton turned 30 - but he refused to miss out on his girlfriend’s birthday celebrations and was instead represented by his attorney, Richard Schonfeld.
His legal representative told the judge he’s preparing to challenge the constitutionality of the felony count, but Schonfeld will have to wait to fight the charge - his client is next due in court on 22 August (11).
Waits faces up to four years in prison for the felony if convicted.

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO is teaming up with director MARTIN SCORSESE for a fifth time as the movie icons prepare to shoot THE WOLF OF WALL STREET together.
The actor has previously worked with the moviemaker on Gangs of New York, Shutter Island, The Departed and The Aviator, which landed him a Best Actor Golden Globe in 2004 for his portrayal of reclusive tycoon Howard Hughes.
And now they’re collaborating once again for the film adaptation of businessman Jordan Belfort’s memoir, which chronicles his life in banking and his stint behind bars for money laundering.
DiCaprio will play Belfort in the film.
The movie has been in development for more than three years, and Belfort is delighted his story is finally being told on the big screen.
He says, "I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am to finally be working with Leo and Marty on this. They’re the ultimate dream team, and it was definitely worth the wait."

Singer/songwriter SIA fears she will miss out on her dream of working with BEYONCE after learning there is only room for one more track submission before the R&B superstar’s new album is complete.
The Australian pop star’s producer pal Diplo has reached out to her to join him in the studio and help Beyonce come up with song ideas for her forthcoming release, but Sia doubts she will have enough time to come up with the perfect tune for the Irreplaceable hitmaker.
She tells MTV News, "I just said to all the producers, writers, everyone, help me make this happen. Diplo emailed me and said, ‘Where are you in the world right now? Would you be interested in flying to New York? I’m writing with Beyonce,’ and I was like, ‘Yesss!’.
"Well, there’s only one song left for this album, so I probably won’t get on this album, but hopefully the next one. That’s my dream, that’s my goal." Beyonce is currently putting the final touches to the follow up to 2008’s I Am… Sasha Fierce, which is expected to be released later this year (11).
