NEW MUM APPLEGATE WILL WAIT BEFORE ADDING TO HER BROOD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:14 am

New mum CHRISTINA APPLEGATE would love to have another child and give her newborn daughter a younger sibling - but insists she isn’t looking to get pregnant again for "at least" three years.
The star and her fiance, musician Martyn LeNoble, became parents last month (Jan11) to little Sadie Grace and the actress can see the couple adding another tot to its brood.
But Applegate, who beat breast cancer in 2009, is adamant it will be some time before they decide to have another child.
She tells People magazine, "I just can’t fathom it happening for at least three, four, five years." And the Anchorman actress is confident her health history won’t prevent her from having more kids, because there are other options available if she doesn’t want to put herself at the increased risk of developing ovarian cancer.
She adds, "There are an awful lot of things you can do. You can remove your ovaries, and you can still carry (a child). My doctors talked to me about it all. I think we can make sure we have everything proper, one way or the other."

FIRTH’S ACTING SUCCESS HELPED RELATIONSHIP WITH DAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:14 am

Oscar nominee COLIN FIRTH’s success as an actor has "done wonders" for his relationship with his dad - because his father always presumed performing was an excuse to shun education and hard work.
The British star admits his dad was dubious about him embarking on a career in front of the cameras, and urged him to get a proper education so he could have a back-up plan if his dream of acting crumbled.
Firth admits his success, and his father’s own realisation that any career can be unstable, helped the pair understand each other better.
He tell CNN’s Piers Morgan, "I’m struck by memories of my father saying, ‘You should get a degree, and that training and have that (acting) as a back up.’ And all those ideas of security - my father was a university lecturer - his whole generation were being made redundant when he was about 55. The whole sense of security - I have had a career which turned out to be no less secure than his turned out to be.
"(But) he loves it. It’s done wonders for my relationship with him, because he didn’t know any actors, he didn’t know the world of cinema and theatre very much so he saw my acting dreams as a way, quite rightly, of a way of getting out of maths or as having an excuse to be bad at that stuff. But when I actually got a job, he was thrilled - not just because I was successful, but because I was applying myself, I was happy, this was work now, not just fantasy."

PARKER WILL MAKE ANOTHER SEX FILM IN FIVE YEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:59 am

SARAH JESSICA PARKER is considering a third SEX & THE CITY movie - but fans will have to wait at least five years for it.
The hit first film’s 2010 sequel was badly received by fans and critics, but that hasn’t put Parker off the idea of bringing her character Carrie Bradshaw back for one more film.
She tells the Los Angeles Times, "I would go back. I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is.
"I’d definitely tell that story, and I know (screenwriter) Michael (Patrick King) would do it right, but maybe not now. Maybe in five years." Meanwhile, the actress admits she’s not a fan of plans to make a Sex prequel - with Gossip Girl star Blake Lively giving Bradshaw a youthful makeover.
She adds, "I don’t begrudge any 21 year old the opportunity to tell their stories. They prove to us on an everyday basis that they’re interesting. Even their narcissism is interesting. Even their inertia is interesting. Even their tonal speech patterns are interesting… but I don’t think we can pretend to go back.
"It’s creating two histories. It’s like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that about Carrie Bradshaw.’"

SMITH OPERA PRODUCERS FACE LEGAL THREAT FROM ESTATE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:56 am

The producers of a bawdy new opera chronicling the life of tragic actress/model ANNA NICOLE SMITH have upset officials looking after her estate for staging the show without their consent.
The production is currently onstage at the Royal Opera House in London and the late star’s former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, has revealed lawyers are drawing up legal documents.
He claims the producers never contacted Anna’s estate bosses or him about the opera, which he calls a "sleazy tabloid".
Birkhead tells TMZ.com, "If they (producers) are not careful, they’ll get more than diet pills in the mail." The new opera features an explicit scene in which the star performs oral sex on her late wheelchair-bound husband, 80-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall.
Composer Richard Thomas has previously defended his decision to create the show, insisting Smith’s tragic life was "endlessly fascinating and perfect" for the stage.

LOHAN LANDS RIPKA NECKLACE LIKE THE ONE SHE’S ACCUSED OF STEALING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:56 am

LINDSAY LOHAN has been gifted a necklace created by the woman who designed the jewellery the actress allegedly stole from a Venice, California store.
Ironically, the Judith Ripka Evil Eye design is worth $2,500 (£1,670) - exactly the price of the item she’s accused of stealing.
The 18 karat gold and diamond necklace has been sent to her by a rich fan called Eric Freiberg, who tells website TooFab.com, "I felt it was the right thing to do.
"Everyone takes any chance they can to pile on to her (Lohan). The accusation that she stole a necklace is totally ridiculous. It was an easy decision for me to send her the necklace. It’s particularly appropriate because it is an Evil Eye, which will hopefully ward off any bad spirits coming Lindsay’s way."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:50 am

A publicist for RADIOHEAD has warned Japanese fans not to turn up to a ’surprise gig’ in Tokyo on Friday (18Feb11) - because the band won’t be there.

The post, written in Japanese, said, "Hachiko Square Shibuya, 59 minutes at 18 Friday." But a publicist for the band has insisted the message was not meant to spark rumours of a gig.

ROLLING STONE REP CLEARS UP BIEBER ABORTION COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:50 am

Editors at Rolling Stone magazine have clarified controversial comments JUSTIN BIEBER made in a revealing recent interview after he was quizzed about abortion.
The 16-year-old pop superstar talked openly about his thoughts on abortion, sex and homosexuality in a candid chat in the new issue of the publication.
When asked where he stands on abortion he told Vanessa Grigoriadis, "It’s like killing a baby." He was then asked if he believed in abortion for rape victims, and replied, "I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that." The star came under fire for his blunt quotes, but bosses at the magazine have admitted that part of his quote was missed out.
A rep for the publication says, "Due to an editing error, this story originally included an incomplete quote from Justin Bieber.
"The full quote, his response to whether abortions should be allowed in cases of rape, reads, ‘Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.’"

BEALS TURNS DOWN DANCING WITH THE STARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:47 am

FLASHDANCE star JENNIFER BEALS was put off making an appearance as a contestant on U.S. TV show Dancing with the Stars after visiting the studio to cheer on pal MARLEE MATLIN.
The actress had been considering signing up for the programme, but now insists no amount of money would persuade her to put on her dancing shoes.
She tells People.com, "I am not a dancer. They asked me and I said no. You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn’t do it." And it was a fateful visit to the studio to support deaf actress Matlin that made her realise once and for all the show wasn’t for her.
She adds, "The sound of the audience is so loud and the energy in there is so intense. I wanted to start crying just in feeling for her. I joked with Marlee and said, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are, you can’t hear this.’"

NEESON FEARS TAKEN FILM HAS SET BACK EUROPEAN TRAVEL FOR U.S. PARENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:47 am

LIAM NEESON fears his 2010 thriller TAKEN has killed the dream of European travel for thousands of U.S. teenagers - because their parents are now too scared to let them jet off to London and Paris.
In the action film, the Irish-born actor’s character has to hunt down his daughter in France after she and a friend are kidnapped by sex traffickers during a vacation in Paris.
And he fears that parents have taken the film to heart and abandoned plans to let their kids travel abroad.
He says, "I have lots of mothers and fathers coming up and saying, ‘Thank you. I’m never gonna send my child to Europe.’ And I’m like, ‘Please don’t do that’.
"That’s the trouble with America. The youth have to travel; they have to experience different cultures. Please get your daughter and your son a passport and send them out there."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:47 am

New SUPERMAN HENRY CAVILL missed out on a leading role in ZACK SNYDER’s cult film 300 - because he was fighting to become the new 007.
The British star has revealed he had to turn Snyder’s project down because he was in contention to play Bond with the man who landed the spy role - Daniel Craig.
He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I came very close. The choice was between a younger Bond and a Bond closer to his 30s, which is to say, Daniel Craig." But now he’s working with Snyder on the new Superman movie - seven years after he first planned to play the Man of Steel.
He tells the publication he was up for the superhero part when McG was onboard to direct in 2004.
Cavill says, "It was wonderful to have a second stab at a job - and as a wiser, older, more experienced actor."

DENTON: ‘WE’RE ALL IN THE DARK ABOUT DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES’ FUTURE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:44 am

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star JAMES DENTON has no idea if the TV show will continue next year (12) - because producers make sure the four leading ladies have signed on before approaching the rest of the cast.
Reports suggest his onscreen wife Teri Hatcher has already signed up, but castmates Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross are still in negotiations - and Denton insists he won’t know about the future of the show until all the ladies are booked.
Appearing on news show Access Hollywood Live, the actor says, "I wish I knew… It’s very tenuous. It’s not as automatic as it seemed a few months ago (but) I think it’s gonna work out. The network wants us, we all wanna be there.
"I do understand that Teri seemed pleased and that doesn’t seem to be an issue… but none of us have been told anything, so we’re all kinda like in the dark. So I know it (deal) hasn’t been done, and until it’s done it’s kinda scary.
"They (network bosses) really want us back for two more (series) and I know all the women, I’ve talked to all of them, and they really are happy and wanna be there."
