WEDDING CRASHERS star JANE SEYMOUR has discovered a downside to her Order of the British Empire (OBE) honour - she can rarely wear the medal out in public.
The Queen presented the actress with the "gong" in 1999, but Seymour admits it mostly sits in a box at her home in Los Angeles - because high society rules forbid her from pinning it to a dress for regular parties and Hollywood launches.
Showing off her medal during an appearance on U.S. news show Access Hollywood Live on Friday (18Feb11), she explained, "(I can only wear it) if people are wearing tiaras and white tie and tails. There’s only one white-tie-and-tails tiara party I know of and that’s Elton John’s. He does it in England. I think he does it for everybody who’s been gonged."

PERRY MOORE, the man who helped to bring the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA books to life on the big screen, has lost his life in an apparent suicide.
The producer was found dead in his New York City apartment on Thursday (17Feb11).
The New York Daily News reports his death was from an overdose of painkillers.
As well as overseeing the three Narnia films, Moore also wrote the novel Hero, about a young gay superhero and he also served as a White House intern for President Bill Clinton.
While working at publishing group Walden Media, he helped land the film rights to C.S. Lewis’ Narnia books.
Moore was 39.

BILLY RAY CYRUS has revealed he once planned to "reach out" to MICHAEL JACKSON - but the King of Pop died before he was given the opportunity.
The country singer met Jackson at a Grammy Awards ceremony and admits he was intrigued by the musical icon.
He tells GQ magazine, "He sat in front of me, in the front row, and a dime rolled out from under and hit my boot and I reached down and picked up this dime, and looked. He was going through his pockets, and I said, ‘Are you looking for this?’ (He said) ‘Thank you.’ "He took that dime and put it back in his pocket. I looked at my manager, I just said, ‘Why did Michael Jackson have a dime?…’ Nobody could tell me." Cyrus hoped to invite Jackson and his three young children, Prince Michael, 14, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Blanket, to a recording of his hit Disney show Hannah Montana - but failed to arrange the meeting before Jackson’s shock death in 2009.
He adds, "I was trying to reach out to Michael Jackson. I knew he had kids, and I was going to invite his kids down to a taping of Hannah - I just felt it would be good for Michael. I don’t know why."

Rapper 50 CENT is to play a rogue cop in tough new drama FREELANCERS.
The In Da Club star, real name Curtis Jackson, will play the son of a slain NYPD officer, who takes his dad’s place in a vice crime task force.
Filming is scheduled to begin at the end of March (11) in Michigan, according to Variety.
The movie will be 50’s 13th.

Colourful R&B stars CEE LO GREEN and RIHANNA are teaming up for what looks like the tour of the summer (11).
The F**k You hitmaker and the Rude Boy singer will hit the road for 14 arena shows in North America.
The trek begins at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada on 18 June (11) and ends in New Jersey a month later (Jul11).
At press time there are no plans for any overseas dates.

TOM CRUISE has signed up to hit the high notes in the movie adaptation of stage musical ROCK OF AGES.
The Mission: Impossible star will play Stacee Jaxx in the film, and belt out Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive.
Matt Weaver, who co-created Rock of Ages, is thrilled with the casting: "He’s got an awesome voice! He’s got an awesome attitude.
"He’s embracing it, he’s getting into character, he’s doing his research. He’s ready to go back to 1986!" Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Anne Hathaway and Russell Brand are also reportedly in talks to join the cast.
Hough was among the stars who attended the opening night of the hit musical’s run in Los Angeles on Tuesday (15Feb11). Zac Efron, Malin Akerman, Shannon Elizabeth, Carmen Electra and Mena Suvari were among the audience.

PARIS HILTON’s boyfriend CY WAITS was left red-faced as he watched the socialite chat to U.S. late show host DAVID LETTERMAN on her 30th birthday (17Feb11) - when the cheeky TV personality quizzed her about her fragrance line.
Former club boss Waits was watching the show from the hospitality lounge as Hilton chatted about her 11 scents, including cologne Just Me For Men.
Letterman asked, "Seriously, what kind of a man buys Just Me For Men?" Waits then appeared on screen and didn’t seem too pleased about the joke.
The host added, "It looks like he’s ready to come out here." Earlier on during the chat with Hilton, the socialite unveiled her new iPhone application, which allows fans to add a picture of Paris to snapshots of themselves.
She took a picture of Letterman and added in a posed shot of herself, which thrilled the host.
He said, "I wonder what the boyfriend thinks of this shot. Happy birthday." The camera panned to Waits in the wings, who smiled awkwardly and gave Letterman the thumbs up.
At the end of the interview, Letterman presented his guest with a bouquet of roses, joking, "Mr. Big Shot is back there in his Member’s Only jacket, but look what I have for you."

Reggaeton duo WISIN Y YANDEL, PRINCE ROYCE and BANDA EL RECODO were the toast of the Premio Lo Nuestro Latin Music Awards in Miami, Florida on Thursday night (17Feb11) after walking away with three honours each.
Wisin y Yandel were named Entertainer of the Year and also picked up Urban Album and Urban Song of the Year titles, while Banda El Recodo received Album of the Year, Group of the Year and Song of the Year accolades.

LINKIN PARK are preparing to return to the road after frontman CHESTER BENNINGTON was hospitalised with a viral infection last week (ends11Feb11) - and they’re taking the PRODIGY with them.
The rockers pulled the plug on two shows in Texas to allow Bennington time to recover. The concerts in Dallas and Houston have been rescheduled.
A statement from Bennington reads, "I’d like to thank our fans for all the kind wishes I’ve received. I’m looking forward to being back on stage, which is a lot more fun than being in a hospital." Linkin Park will pick up their tour on Saturday night (19Feb11). Joining them for six dates is Britain’s the Prodigy.

Tough guy VINNIE JONES is embarrassed by what the star of his new TV drama THE CAPE drives to and from the set - and only hopes the show becomes a big hit, so his pal can get a better motor.
Car fan Jones regularly taunts David Lyons about the battered black Wrangler Jeep he turns up to the set in, and thinks the star of the show should have a top-of-the-range vehicle.
Jones says, "It’s ripped and it’s dirty so I keep sort of letting him know by filling it up with the trash bins and putting signs on it saying, ‘This car will be removed for safety reasons,’ with cones around it.
"We keep pulling his leg about the fact that the lead guy on an NBC primetime show is driving around in this piece of c**p: ‘Come on Dave, it’s embarrassing. Please God if we get the next season we can all put some money in and buy you a decent truck!’ "I drive a Porsche or my Range Rover or I have a Harley Davidson. I don’t drive around in a c**ppy old Wrangler Jeep that’s worth about $600 bucks!"

A composer who penned the score for a controversial opera chronicling the life of ANNA NICOLE SMITH has urged critics not to judge the show until they’ve seen it.
Bosses of the production, simply titled Anna Nicole, are facing a potential lawsuit amid claims they are staging the show at London’s Royal Opera House without permission from the tragic model’s estate.
The threat of legal action follows complaints the opera is in poor taste - but composer Mark-Anthony Turnage has now hit back at its critics.
He tells Sky News, "We haven’t been cruel about people. Of course it’s a tragic story but there’s all different points of view put forward in the opera. The thing is, everybody is speculating about the content before they have seen it… Now they can make up their own mind. It’s something that’s worrying but it’s not really our problem in a way."

VICTORIA BECKHAM is already planning on extending her brood after she gives birth later this year (11), revealing she’s considering having a fifth child.
The singer-turned-fashion designer is currently expecting baby number four with her soccer superstar husband David Beckham.
