LINDSAY LOHAN’s estranged father has offered his support to MILEY CYRUS’ dad BILLY RAY in a letter after the country star opened up about his fears for his teenage daughter in a magazine article.
The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker blasted his daughter’s handlers in the GQ interview and confessed her hit Disney show Hannah Montana was a big mistake that wrecked the whole family.
And Michael Lohan can sympathise - in his letter he states he sees a lot of himself and his situation with his own daughter in what Cyrus is going through.
Addressing Cyrus directly, he writes, "As hard and frustrating as it is, believe me when I say, it’s a road worth travelled. Even if it may have its bumps and grinds along the way. As I was raised, there is nothing like the love a man has for his family nor is there any length he will go to save or protect them.
"The hardest part is, experiencing the pain that comes from the resistance of the very one you are trying to save (sic)… When I look at what you are going through, I am forced to see myself. Two men who know what divorce and alienation, have done to our families.
"Why I ask, is it so hard for our wives, children and even the public, to see that all we are trying to do, is to be there for our family and try to make things right? Isn’t it clear that the answer is so easy but the people who don’t matter, make it so hard? While all we want is our family and normal lives back.
"I want to say, that I know what you are going through, I feel your pain and frustration, and I also admire your strength, dedication and love, for your family in the name of God."

Former AMERICAN IDOL star DAVID ARCHULETA has been dropped by his record label.
The Idol season 7 runner-up is no longer tied to Jive Records, a label spokesperson has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Archuleta’s 2010 album The Other Side of Down failed to make the top 10 in America - and has sold only 67,000 copies.
His self-titled 2008 debut sold an impressive 765,000 copies.

TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW has spoken of his delight after the band’s choreographer landed the role of artistic director at next year’s (12) Olympic Games in London.
Kim Gavin, who has worked on a number of the group’s tours, was named as one of the directors for the event on Friday (18Feb11), along with Lady Gaga’s stage and costume designer Es Devlin and film composer David Arnold, who will also help organise the shows.
The role has sparked speculation Take That will be in the line-up for the Olympics’ closing ceremony - but although Barlow insists they’ve not been asked yet he is "proud" Gavin will be behind the event.
He tells Britain’s Daily Star, "He hasn’t asked us to be in the show, yet. Me and the guys are thrilled that Kim has been asked to create the closing ceremony. We know with him in charge it’s going to be one great celebration.
"We’re very proud of our live shows and Kim has always been at the very heart of their creation."

JERMAINE and RANDY JACKSON’s ex-wife ALEJANDRA is set to expose a string of family secrets as part of a new tell-all book and reality TV show she’s offering to U.S. networks.
Sources close to her tell TMZ.com Alejandra is in talks with several producing partners to star in a reality programme, which will also feature her kids.
She’s currently in the middle of a legal tussle with the Jackson family, who asked a judge to remove Alejandra and her children from the clan’s Encino, California home - so her temporary quarters could be renovated.
Jackson matriarch Katherine reportedly offered Alejandra a lavish apartment if she signed a confidentiality agreement - but she refused.
TMZ.com reports Alejandra feels she needs to make money because the fathers of her children, Randy and Jermaine, are behind on their support payments.
Meanwhile, a hearing on whether Alejandra will have to vacate the Jackson compound is set for 15 March (11).

Rocker GUNNAR NELSON is facing a lawsuit from a club owner who alleges comments made about him by the musician have ruined his business.
Nelson, who sang with his twin brother Matthew in their 1990s heyday, performed at Jaxx nightclub in Springfield, Virginia in 2008 and blasted the venue in an article that was published last August (10).
In the story Nelson described playing at the venue as the "lowpoint" of his music career and claimed owner Jay Nedry still owes him $8,000 (£5,333) for the performance.
But now Nedry has blasted the remarks, and he filed legal papers at Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this month (Feb11), suing Nelson for $25,000 (£16,667), reports TMZ.com.
His lawyers allege the allegations made are "irrational, untrue, and slanderous diatribe" and that they "have had a great negative impact upon Nedry’s personal and business reputation, as well as that of Jaxx Nightclub by deterring persons from dealing with him individually and the club."

Former child star FRANKIE MUNIZ’s representative has revealed the actor has "resolved" his issues with his girlfriend following a bust-up between the pair.
The Malcolm in the Middle actor prompted a police call-out at his property in Arizona last week (11Feb11) after an altercation with Elycia Turnbow, during which he reportedly held a loaded gun to his head.
Muniz’s rep subsequently slammed reports he was suicidal and insisted a "gun played no part" in the feud.
And the actor brushed off reports he had split from Turnbow by cooking her a romantic Valentine’s meal and declaring his love for her on Twitter.com on Monday (14Feb11).
Now his spokesperson, Lauren Tobin, has revealed Muniz and Turnbow are "fine" and are "still very much a couple", telling People.com, "As far as they are concerned, their issues are resolved… Neither one is interested in finger-pointing at the other. It was a situation that escalated beyond a point that it needed to be. If anything, they will look back at this as a learning opportunity." No charges were filed over the incident.

Former WILL & GRACE star MEGAN MULLALLY is facing a lawsuit for allegedly driving through a red light and crashing into another car in 2009.
Wendy Kim claims her Mercedes incurred almost $15,000 (£10,000) worth of damage from the accident, in which both women sustained minor injuries.
Kim has now filed legal documents at Los Angeles Superior Court demanding Mullally pays for the repair costs, but so far the actress has refused because she insists she is innocent of any wrongdoing.
Mullally claims the traffic light was yellow when she drove through it and that Kim’s "negligence" resulted in the crash, reports TMZ.com.
A hearing is to be held in April (11).

MAMMA MIA! star AMANDA SEYFRIED has spoken out to deny reports she and boyfriend RYAN PHILLIPPE have split.
Sources told a number of media groups the couple had split, but the actress has urged fans not to believe everything they read.
She tells X17.com, "What you read is false".
The couple has been at the centre of gossip this week (beg14Feb11) following reports suggesting Phillippe was snubbed by Rihanna as he attempted to chat her up at a party on 12 February (11).
Asked for her opinion on the story, Seyfried said, "That is so f**king not true!"

JENNIFER ANISTON is hoping to celebrate her 42nd year with a $42 million (GBP28 million) windfall - that’s the price she has placed on her sprawling Beverly Hills home.
The mansion will not be officially listed and only real potential buyers will have access to the grounds to view the property.
Aniston bought the estate in 2006 for $13.5 million (GBP9 million), and then spent over two years renovating it. She moved in just before her 40th birthday in 2009, according to People.com.
She tells the magazine she felt the need to sell her dream house after having an epiphany while on a recent trip to London.
The actress explains, "My life felt really cluttered. I couldn’t sleep and I sort of had one of those moments where I went, ‘I really need to simplify, my life needs to be simplified’… And along with that thought came, ‘I should sell my house’.
"I had the realisation that this is just too much for me. I’m not this person." She recently confessed she dreamed of moving out of Los Angeles and finding a "little spot" in New York, where she celebrated her 42nd birthday last week (ends11Feb11), adding, "I grew up here, I miss it, there’s nothing like the city that just is the city of every man; it’s all walks and I love that."

ROD STEWART has revealed he and wife PENNY LANCASTER would have given up their dream of becoming parents again if the photographer hadn’t fallen pregnant via in vitro fertilisation at the third attempt.
Lancaster gave birth to little Aiden earlier this week (16Feb11), but before she fell pregnant, she and Stewart had resigned themselves to the fact they might not be able to conceive a brother or sister for their five-year-old son, Alistair.
In a taped interview for news show Piers Morgan Tonight, which will air next week (21Feb11), the rocker says, "We were more or less resigned to the fact that if it doesn’t work, we’ve got one wonderful son with Alistair, and I’ve been very fortunate in having eight children, so I wouldn’t have complained.
"But I really felt for her (Lancaster) because she wanted a partner for Alistair." Now he’s a dad again at 65, Stewart’s only worry is that he’ll stay fit enough to play with his newborn as he grows up.
The Brit adds, "I consider myself a very fit 65 year old; I’m just gonna have to be a very fit 85 year old."

A bloody self-portrait of British rocker PETE DOHERTY is up for sale at $37,500 (GBP25,000).
The macabre sketch was created by The Libertines star in 2010 for a fan called Alistair - using his own blood.
The devotee approached Doherty backstage at a concert and asked the rock star if he could help him make some money. Doherty offered to paint something for him.
A week later, the blood portrait - signed ‘For Alistair, love Peter’ - arrived though the post.

LINDSAY LOHAN has fired back at tabloid reports suggesting she was out partying in Hollywood late on Thursday night (17Feb11), insisting she’d never risk another hit on her probation.
The actress is facing another jail spell after being accused of stealing jewellery from a store near her new home in Venice, California - and she doesn’t want to upset prosecutors by appearing to be partying before she is sentenced next week (beg21Feb11).
Lohan spent time behind bars and in rehab last year (10) for an ongoing substance abuse and alcohol problem - and she insists reports she was out partying with former girlfriend Samantha Ronson are not true.
In a Twitter.com post to fans on Friday (18Feb11), she writes, "The reports i was at (nightclub) teddys are inaccurate… I was just at (hotel) roosevelt to meet Samantha and say happy birthday to a friend. i take my sobriety seriously. please dont believe this accusations (sic). i know the rules and i wouldnt risk probation (sic)." According to reports, Lohan and Ronson were spotted leaving the hotel early on Friday morning in the DJ’s black Porsche.
Ronson later sent out a tweet suggesting the former couple was an item again.
It read, "Watching (TV show) grey’s anatomy - my fav (favourite) show. @lindsaylohan sleeping next 2 me - should i wake her up?" The girlfriends split last year (10) but have become close ever since Lohan moved in next door to her ex.

The former Veruca Salt star is one of the two girls featured in the artwork for the 1993 album - a fact that escaped frontman Billy Corgan when he hired her last year (10) to replace Ginger Pooley.

Singer/songwriter RUFUS WAINWRIGHT is a first-time father - and the child is his hero LEONARD COHEN’s granddaughter.
The 37 year old star broke the happy news on his website on Friday (18Feb11), insisting he and partner Jorn Weisbrodt are proud dads.
In a post, the gay star wrote, "Darling daughter Viva Katherine Wainwright Cohen was born on February 2, 2011 in Los Angeles, California to parents Lorca Cohen, Rufus Wainwright and Deputy Dad Jorn Weisbrodt.
"The little angel is evidently healthy, presumably happy and certainly very, very beautiful." The mother is Leonard Cohen’s daughter.

A British brewery is marketing a Kiss Me Kate pale ale which will be available in pubs for a limited time - to mark April’s (11) royal wedding.
Bosses at Nottingham’s Castle Rock Brewery have made only 40 barrels of the beer and it won’t go on sale to the public until the end of next month (Mar11) - a month before Kate Middleton exchanges vows with heir to the throne Prince William.

Oscars bosses have refused artist/director BANKSY’s request to take to the Academy Awards stage in disguise - if he wins a Best Documentary award.
Representatives for the multi-media maverick have reportedly approached officials at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and asked them if the enigmatic artist could accept his award, if Exit Through The Gift Shop wins, wearing an odd outfit - so he doesn’t have to reveal his identity.
But the Oscar chiefs said no.
Academy Executive Director Bruce Davis tells EW.com, "The fun but disquieting scenario is that if the film wins and five guys in monkey masks come to the stage all saying, ‘I’m Banksy,’ who the hell do we give it (award) to?"
