AGRON DISCOVERED CAT ALLERGIES WHILE LIVING WITH MICHELE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:17 am

GLEE star DIANNA AGRON learned she shares her father’s allergy towards cats the hard way - after she and co-star LEA MICHELE took two strays in when they lived together.
The actress cautiously agreed to look after the kittens after a hairdresser found them on the lot where Glee is shot.
The stylist couldn’t take the cats home herself, so, after making sure they had had all their shots and vaccines, she asked the roommates if they’d look after them.
Agron picks up the tale: "I was trying to recall if I’m allergic to cats or not because my dad is and I never had them around. It turned out I was. Not terribly, but on a scale of one to 10, maybe about a five. So they came and lived with us and they were quite interesting.
"I was going to work (with) blood-shot (eyes), a puffy face… but they were really sweet, so how can you kick them out." Agron put up with the strays until she and Michele decided to get their own places.
She adds, "Lea still has the kitties."

ANDERSON APPALLED BY ANIMAL CONDITIONS AT INDIAN MEDICAL INSTITUTE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:44 pm

Actress PAMELA ANDERSON has urged officials at India’s top medical institute to retire old monkeys used for scientific research after learning the ageing animals are kept in cages for up to 20 years.
The Baywatch beauty, a longtime supporter of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), was appalled to see video footage allegedly showing sick monkeys and rabbits locked up and in distress at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
So she’s penned a letter to AIIMS director R. C. Deka urging the facility’s bosses to free the animals.
Anderson writes, "It broke my heart to see the suffering. The animals suffering behind closed doors at AIIMS must endure this nightmare every day.
"(The monkeys are kept in) cramped, barren, and rusty cages for years on end. Please, won’t you at least agree to retire the animals who have been at AIIMS the longest to a sanctuary?" Animal-lover Anderson has previously asked India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ban leather in the country, branding the trade in hides "unspeakably cruel".

SPEARS FACING LEGAL ACTION OVER NEW SINGLE

BRITNEY SPEARS is facing legal action over her new single HOLD IT AGAINST ME after she was accused of "ripping off" the title of the song.
American country rock duo the Bellamy Brothers - comprised of David and Howard Bellamy - claim the song is "too close" to their 1979 ballad If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me? David Bellamy has previously insisted they won’t be taking Spears to court, but he admits he and his brother are now reconsidering their options and are in talks with lawyers over plagiarism claims.
He says, "We will without doubt take the appropriate legal action if our attorneys agree we’ve been ripped off. Surely there is more original stuff out there to do rather than rehash old titles." A spokesperson for Spears says, "If this is now a legal matter then I am afraid we would have nothing to say until our lawyers have been alerted."

CABLE’S PARTNER LAUNCHES ALCOHOL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:41 pm

The girlfriend of late rocker STUART CABLE is urging U.K. officials to take stronger action to warn the public about the dangers of alcohol following the musician’s death after a heavy drinking session last year (10).
The former Stereophonics star was found dead at his home in Wales by his girlfriend Rachel Jones in June (10). A coroner ruled he choked on his own vomit.
Cable had been drinking heavily in the run-up to his death, and his partner is now throwing her support behind the Think Before You Drink campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of excess boozing.
She is also calling for alcohol packaging to be labelled with stronger warnings.
Jones tells BBC Radio Wales, "Prevention is better than cure, and there’s no cure for death. If you saw someone drinking a bottle of poison or bleach you would stop them.
"People need to be aware that alcohol - in particular spirits (liquor) - can lead to death." Jones reveals Cable had "switched" his alcohol habits prior to his death, instead choosing spirits over lager - and she’s sure that contributed to his shock passing.
She adds, "There are these diets which say a vodka is better than half a lager because it’s lower in calories.
"He just switched his drinking habits… obviously he didn’t realise that drinking a huge quantity (of spirits) in a short amount of time was going to have the effect that it did. People that do this may as well hold a loaded gun to their head because it will kill you."

The singer was recently admitted to hospital after doctors discovered she had a growth in her stomach and Sinitta, who has previously undergone surgery to remove a lump in her breast, admits she kept the operation a secret because she feared the tumour would be cancerous.
However, medics have since given Sinitta the all-clear.
She tells Britain’s Daily Star Sunday, "I am recovering well. Thank God the tumour was not malignant. But it was the size of an ostrich egg. Bizarre. I had two weeks of morphine afterwards. The medicine was very strong." But Sinitta is nursing another ailment - she injured her ankle while out in London on Thursday night (17Feb11).
She adds, "I went to see The Wizard Of Oz and it ended in disaster. I was pain-free but a little wobbly. I just collapsed on the way home and my ankle and ligaments are damaged. I guess I was out and about too soon."
