SIMPLE PLAN star PIERRE BOUVIER has created a one-off piece of art to benefit a cancer charity in honour of his brother, who beat the disease.
The musician has painted a canvas with the words "If you lose faith in you I’ll give you strength to pull through" and is auctioning off the piece as part of an eBay sale for the San Diego branch of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
A post on the website reads, "This canvas shown is a handpainted cancer awareness painting created in collaboration with a cancer survivor and Pierre Bouvier - in honor of his brother, a cancer survivor." Other stars who are selling off their designs include Lostprophets rocker Jamie Oliver and Comeback Kid stars Andrew Neufeld and Jeremy Hiebert.
The online auctions end on Friday (25Feb11).

BRUNO MARS’ songwriting partner PHILIP LAWRENCE ended up broke travelling to meet the star - but he’s convinced it’s "the best two dollars" he’s ever spent.
Mars, Lawrence, and fellow songwriter Ari Levine have penned and produced tracks for artists including Justin Bieber, Flo Rida and Cee Lo Green.
But Lawrence almost missed out on the opportunity - because he was so poor he could scarcely afford the bus fare to meet Mars.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I literally only had two dollars left in my pocket when I was going to meet Bruno for our first session.
"I had to get two buses and it cost me the last money I had. It turned out to be the best two dollars I’ve ever spent."

JUSTIN BIEBER is re-releasing his concert movie NEVER SAY NEVER in the U.S. and Canada just weeks after its launch - to include 40 minutes of previously unseen footage.
The film hit screens earlier this month (Feb11) and has so far raked in $48 million (£32 million) at the worldwide box office.
Bieber is now treating his loyal fans in America and his native Canada to a special director’s cut of the movie, which will replace the current picture in 3D theatres on Friday (25Feb11) as part of a limited run.
Director Jon M. Chu, who has trimmed footage from the original film to accommodate the additional scenes, says, "I realised I had an embarrassment of riches when I was in the cutting room.
"Justin’s dedication to his fan base is unwavering and I was inspired as a filmmaker to attempt to provide them a unique experience that showed even more of his world."

Broadway’s beleaguered SPIDER-MAN musical is getting a boost - veteran director PAUL BOGAEV has been hired to help with the show’s sound and arrangements.
The theatre guru has been recruited to work with U2 stars Bono and The Edge on the music featured in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, which has attracted headlines over repeated delays, on-set accidents and negative reviews.
Bogaev previously worked with Sir Elton John on Aida and Phil Collins for Tarzan, and was musical director on Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express and Sunset Boulevard.
News of Bogaev joining the production as a consultant comes just a day after a spokesperson denied reports producers were looking for a co-director to help Julie Taymor helm the controversial show.
Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark is scheduled to officially open on Broadway on 15 March (11).

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and AMANDA PALMER have been forced to postpone gigs in New Zealand after a devastating earthquake struck on Tuesday (22Feb11).
At least 65 lives were claimed in the powerful tremor, which took down dozens of buildings in downtown Christchurch and prompted officials to declare a state of emergency in the city.
The disaster left Queens of the Stone Age stranded at Auckland airport, forcing them to call off their sold-out gig at Wellington Town Hall. The concert has been rescheduled for Wednesday (23Feb11).
The rockers’ show at Christchurch Town Hall for Performing Arts on Thursday (24Feb11) has also been axed.
Palmer was forced to cancel a Christchurch gig scheduled for Tuesday after the earthquake hit and she was stuck at Hawke’s Bay Airport in Napier. The singer’s show in Auckland on Wednesday night is scheduled to go ahead as planned.

God bless!", while Josh Groban adds, "Sending my love to my friends in New Zealand… quite the frightening quake they’ve experienced." Justin Bieber declares, "My prayers go out tonight to the people of New Zealand. God bless" and Slash adds, "Our thoughts & prayers go out to everybody in Christchurch." Australia natives Dannii Minogue and Miranda Kerr were also stunned to hear about the disaster. The model posted on her Twitter page: "I was just talking to dad and he told me about the earthquake in NZ. Please keep everyone in NZ in your thoughts and prayers", while Minogue tells her online followers, "Pictures of the earthquake damage (are) devastating. My thoughts are with everyone there today." Actress Denise Richards displayed a message on Twitter declaring, "Praying for all the people in Christchurch, NZ during this difficult time… sending lots of love and prayers" and British funnyman Stephen Fry ‘tweeted’ a link to the Red Cross, so followers can donate to relief efforts.

Tycoon-turned-reality TV star DONALD TRUMP is poised to finalise a deal giving him full reign over New York City’s most famous carousel.
The Apprentice mogul rescued the beloved merry-go-round in Central Park last March (10) after city officials ended their deal with the prior operator.
Trump has since been paying $7,500 (£5,000) a month to maintain the ride, which is enjoyed by approximately 250,000 visitors a year at $2 (£1.30) apiece.
The new 10-year contract will see Trump’s payments increase from $250,000 to $325,000 (£167,000 to £217,000) over the life of the agreement, according to the New York Post.
A public hearing on Trump’s new contract is scheduled for 7 March (11).
It’s Trump’s latest bid to take over Manhattan - his firm operates Central Park’s Wollman and Lasker skating rinks and he’s also in talks to revive the struggling Tavern-on-the-Green restaurant.

TOM HARDY is bulking up - the actor is piling on the pounds to play BATMAN’s nemesis in CHRISTOPHER NOLAN’s upcoming THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
The Brit is set to play violent villain Bane opposite Christian Bale’s Caped Crusader in the next installment of the superhero franchise, but he’ll have to gain more than 20 pounds (nine kilograms) before filming begins in May (11).
He tells U.K. talk show host Alan Carr, "I’m going to need to bulk up a lot for it. That’s a lot of weight to put on and I’ve got to start shooting in May. I’ve got to go up to about 13 and a half or 14 stone (196 pounds/89 kilograms). I’m 12 and a bit now, so I’ve got under three months to do that. Fat - a lot of fat. And trickery." And Hardy has vowed to make his version of Bane more terrifying than Jeep Swenson’s turn as the character in 1997 box office flop Batman & Robin.
He adds, "Have you seen the Joel Schumacher Batman & Robin? (Bane) doesn’t look very menacing, does he? Christopher Nolan will revisit that territory entirely so I wouldn’t go by that at all."

KIM KARDASHIAN is the latest celebrity to fall victim to internet pranksters - her Twitter.com account has been hacked.
The socialite was fuming after discovering on Monday (21Feb11) that an impostor has accessed her page and sent out "fake tweets" - and she’s appealed to bosses of the microblogging site to help restore the security on her account.
In a series of posts on the site, she writes, "My twitter has been hacked! Twitter help!!!! I can sign on from my phone app but no where else and see some fake tweets here! "Twitter please help me get my password back! How is it that I can tweet from my cell but my home computer says wrong password! HACKED." Her sister Kourtney adds, "Some stalker freak loser hacked Kim Kardashian twitter and email… So just beware of her tweets." ROSIE O’DONNELL has ended her relationship with her girlfriend TRACY KACHTICK-ANDERS, according to a new report.

Actress STEPHANIE BEACHAM has told of her terror after doctors revealed her skin cancer has returned.
The Dynasty star had a brush with the disease in 2008 but assumed she was back to full health after a course of cryotherapy to freeze and remove the growth on her nose.
But she was plunged into "horror" last month (Jan11) when medics revealed the cancerous cells have returned. The star is currently undergoing photodynamic therapy for basal cell carcinoma in a bid to kill off the illness.
Beacham tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, "The news that it had returned gave me such a fright. The first time I was told I had skin cancer, I can still remember the horror I felt, so to be told it had come back was terrifying.
"I was also terribly disappointed as I thought I was clear and that was the end of it. I now know otherwise and this has served as a warning… I didn’t want cryotherapy again and surgery would have involved cutting away a chunk of skin from my nose, leaving me with a permanent scar.
"The treatment took less than half an hour and didn’t involve a scalpel… It was slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. I have one more treatment next month to make sure all the cancerous cells are cleared." And the British actress admits she’s determined to help other sufferers of the disease: "This second scare has proved a very valuable lesson. But skin cancer is nothing to be ashamed of and if my story makes more people aware of the dangers and the treatments available then good has come of this."

HAYDEN PANETTIERE "cares" about the fate of AMANDA KNOX after portraying her in a TV movie - and hopes the convicted killer is one day released from prison.
The Heroes star plays the American student in Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, which is based on the brutal killing of Knox’s roommate, Meredith Kercher.
Panettiere admits she can’t help but "root for" the 23 year old as she appeals against her conviction, and wants to see her freed - whether she’s guilty or not.
The actress tells the Los Angeles Times, "I’ve lived a very different life than her. She went to normal school and worked at a coffee shop and was just going over to Europe, and I grew up acting. But we’re both young girls. And I care about her. To a certain degree, guilty or innocent, I want to see her get out and be able to live the rest of her life. She’s someone that I root for." Knox is serving a 26-year sentence in an Italian prison for killing Knox in 2007 but a jury will meet next month (12Mar11) after new forensic evidence was discovered.

Singer SHAKIRA can add another trophy to her cabinet - she has been named Harvard University’s 2011 Artist of the Year.
The Hips Don’t Lie hitmaker will be presented with the trophy at the annual Cultural Rhythms award ceremony at the prestigious college on Saturday (26Feb11).

THE MONKEES agreed to reunite after vowing to put aside their differences to celebrate the band’s 45th anniversary.
Three out of the four original members, Peter Tork, Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz, announced on Monday (21Feb11) they will be reforming to tour the U.K. for the first time in 12 years.
The I’m A Believer hitmakers will play 10 dates in May (11) to mark their 45th anniversary.
Now they have spoken out about their comeback - Tork, who was fired from the group’s 2001 reunion U.S. tour for "disagreeable" behaviour, insists their former issues no longer matter.
He tells Britain’s The Independent, "The popular demand has been carefully cultivated and they made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. We like each other just fine now. Whatever ups and downs we have had pale into insignificance. Each one of the tours we do is more fun than the one before." And Jones agrees, telling BBC’s The One Show, "We just like each other. We like to perform together, we have fun."
