POLANSKI AND TARANTINO HONOURED AT FRANCE’S CESAR AWARDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:14 pm

ROMAN POLANSKI was named the best director at the Cesar Awards in France on Friday (25Feb11), while QUENTIN TARANTINO was honoured for his film achievements.
The Pulp Fiction moviemaker was hailed "a great international artist" at the 2011 event in Paris, France, which was hosted by Jodie Foster.
Polanski received the revered best director prize in his adopted homeland for The Ghost Writer, which also won awards for screenplay, music and editing.
The awards were especially poignant as Polanski was shooting the movie when he was arrested in Zurich, Switzerland in September 2009 over a sex charge dating back to the 1970s. He was released in July (10) after Swiss officials refused to extradite him to the U.S. and he returned to France.
However, the movie missed out on the best film prize, which went to French-made religious drama Of Gods and Men.
