DIRECTOR HUANG ZUMO DIES
Celebrated Chinese director HUANG ZUMO has died. He was 90 years old.
The filmmaker passed away in a Shanghai hospital after suffering heart failure on Saturday (19Feb11).
Huang’s best-known film, Romance on Lushan Mountain, holds the record as the longest running in a single cinema anywhere in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records.
The drama has been screened daily at the Jiangxi Movie Circulation and Screening Co. theatre since it opened in July 1980, and has since become a tourist attraction.
