ADELE’S ALBUM INSPIRED BY MUMFORD & SONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:32 pm

Soul singer ADELE has credited folk rockers MUMFORD & SONS with the success of her latest album - because their melancholy songs inspired her heartache tracks.
The Brit released 21 last month (Jan11) and it shot to the top of the U.K. chart, receiving critical and commercial acclaim.
Adele fought back tears as she delivered an emotional rendition of album track Someone Like You at Tuesday’s (15Feb11) Brit Awards, which she later confessed was prompted by memories of her ex-boyfriend.
The star has now revealed her inspiration for 21 was Mumford & Sons’ 2009 album Sigh No More.
She tells Britain’s Absolute Radio, "That Mumford record was me and my ex’s album. If it wasn’t for that album I don’t think I’d be as emotionally drained as I am and not as emotionally exhausted and not been able to write this album.
"So I’ve got to be a bit thankful really cos it’s doing really well!" And Adele would jump at the chance to collaborate with the band, adding: "Absolutely! I think I’ve told them that too."
