PRESLEY COLLAPSE REPORTS ‘COMPLETELY UNTRUE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:14 pm

A spokesperson for LISA MARIE PRESLEY has spoken out to reassure fans the singer is in good health following reports she collapsed at her home in England.
A U.S. tabloid had reported that Elvis Presley’s daughter had fallen ill after embarking on an extreme diet and losing over 50 pounds (23 kilograms) in the space of five months.
The star was said to have jetted back to the U.S. from her estate in the U.K. to receive emergency treatment.
But a spokesperson for Presley insists the star is well, and currently in Los Angeles to record her third album.
The representative tells People.com, "It is absolutely and completely untrue. The National Enquirer puts Lisa on the cover every few months with manipulated photos and horrendous stories of supposed ‘meltdowns,’ and has since she can remember.
"She is happy and healthy and working hard. The rest is absolute garbage. Not a bit of truth to any of it."

AMERICAN IDOL REJECT SUES FOR A THIRD TIME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:14 pm

A former AMERICAN IDOL contestant is attempting to sue bosses for discrimination for a third time, withdrawing a $100 million (£66 million) complaint to ask for just $5 million (£3.3 million).
Ian Benardo, who failed his audition when he tried out for the talent show in 2006, originally filed a $300 million (£200 million) lawsuit against producers, claiming they "exploited" his homosexuality by asking him to "gay it up".
He reduced his demand to $100 million when he refiled papers in September (10) but the lawsuit was dismissed, reports TMZ.com.
But Benardo isn’t giving up his fight - on Friday (28Jan11), he submitted another lawsuit in federal court, citing discrimination and requesting $5 million from TV executives.
The wannabe singer shocked audiences when he stormed the stage during the competition’s live 2010 TV finale, grabbing the microphone from comedian Dane Cook to shout at judge Simon Cowell.
He later alleged Idol bosses had invited him to the special and put him up to the stunt.

ROMERO ‘DEEPLY REGRETS’ MARRIAGE SHAM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:11 pm

Mexican actress FERNANDA ROMERO has issued a public apology after pleading guilty to lying on an immigration document in a bid to gain U.S. residency.
The Drag Me To Hell star formally entered her plea in court on Friday (28Jan11) after she was accused of making a false statement to officials investigating her sham marriage to American musician Kent Ross.
On a 2007 immigration form, Romero claimed that Ross and her mother "hang out all the time", a statement authorities believed to be false.
Romero now faces up to five years behind bars, as well as a fine and probation, but prosecutors have not pressed for a prison sentence, according to the Associated Press.
Romero has owned up to the offence, admitting her regret over the "misstatement".
Apologising for her behaviour, the star says, "I deeply regret my making this misstatement to (immigration officials) and take full responsibility for my actions. I apologise to all of those who have supported me through this difficult time." Romero had been living in the U.S. for 10 years before marrying Ross in 2005. Prosecutors alleged the pair married to allow the actress permanent residency, but lived separately and dated other people.
She is due back in court on 11 April (11) for sentencing.

SHEEN IN REHAB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:56 am

Troubled star CHARLIE SHEEN has checked into a rehabilitation centre, just a day after he was treated in hospital for a hernia.
The Two and a Half Men actor was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Thursday (27Jan11) after complaining about abdominal pain, caused by a hiatal hernia.
Reports suggested Sheen had been partying prior to his health emergency.
He was discharged later on Thursday to continue his recovery at home, but on Friday (28Jan11), his publicist Stan Rosenfield confirmed the star is seeking professional treatment for unspecified issues.
Rosenfield says, "He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern.
"Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional informational will be provided." The actor had been expected to return to work on hit sitcom Two and a Half Men on Tuesday (01Feb11) when the programme resumes filming, but TV bosses have now placed the show on an indefinite hiatus.
A statement says, "Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing Two and a Half Men on production hiatus.
"We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision." It is Sheen’s third stint in rehab - he previously sought help for drug problems in 1998, while he checked into a medical facility last year (10) as a "preventive" measure following his Christmas Day altercation with wife Brooke Mueller in 2009.

MORRISON FELT LIKE A ‘BAD SINGER’ NEXT TO SIR ELTON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:17 am

GLEE star MATTHEW MORRISON feared he was destroying SIR ELTON JOHN’s classics when they teamed up to record new versions of the superstar’s songs - because he was "so used" to hearing the originals.
The singer/actor landed the special collaboration for his upcoming solo album, Bringing It to the Masses, and recently hit the studio with John to complete the tracks.
But Morrison admits he was star-struck the whole time they were working - and he was convinced his vocals were not up to par.
He tells People.com, "(It was) an out-of-body experience. I didn’t really believe it was actually happening.
"I actually felt like I was a bad singer because we were singing a couple of his songs, and you’re so used to hearing that voice on these songs, and I’m like, ‘I don’t sound good on these songs.’" Morrison claims the duet was meant to be a secret - but John is so proud of the work, which he’s described as "really fantastic", he’s been "telling everyone".
The TV star says, "It was supposed to be a secret that he was going to be on my album, but he’s kind of telling everyone. So I guess we can talk about it. He’s just the most loving man, and we had the best time. He was so giving and so supportive. We just had a ball."

RYDER’S FREE SET OF TEETH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:14 am

British rocker SHAUN RYDER was convinced to undergo a makeover and transform his "trashed" teeth when he was offered $60,000 (£40,000)-worth of dental work for free.
The Happy Mondays frontman ruined his smile with years of boozing and drug-taking, but was only persuaded to change his look with a full set of veneers when he was handed a bargain deal by a dentist.
He tells Britain’s Q magazine, "I had a completely new set put in in 2004. The others were trashed. They looked like a row of derelict houses or a street that had been bombed in the f**king war. The dentist ground what was left to little stubs and then they glue on new ones… It cost £40,000, but I didn’t have to pay. The dentist did it for free ‘cos I let him take a photograph and stick it in the paper showing what a great job he’d done. These are like show home teeth."

A DAY TO REMEMBER AXE GIG DUE TO SNOW STORM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:14 am

American rockers A DAY TO REMEMBER had to postpone a concert in Scotland on Friday (28Jan11) after a snow storm left them stranded in the U.S.
The Florida-based band had planned to fly to the U.K. earlier this week (begs24Jan11) ahead of their gig at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on Friday, but heavy snowfall grounded their plane, forcing them to scrap the show.
In a statement released on Thursday (27Jan11), the group says, "We hate having to do this, but due to bad weather keeping us in the USA, we’re postponing tomorrow’s show.
"We have our new flights booked, we’re ready to go, and we apologise for the inconvenience. We will see you guys very very soon!" States including New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts ground to a halt on Thursday (27Jan11) after more than 15 inches (38.1 centimetres) of snow was dumped across America’s East Coast.
A Day To Remember is expected to make it across the Atlantic Ocean in time for their next gig in Manchester, England on Sunday (30Jan11).
The rockers have rescheduled the cancelled show for Monday (31Jan11).

MARS TO ESCAPE CONVICTION FOR DRUG CHARGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:14 am

R&B star BRUNO MARS has landed a plea deal with Las Vegas prosecutors over his drug arrest last September (10) - he will avoid a conviction if he stays out of trouble until 2012.
The Grenade hitmaker, real name Peter Hernandez, was facing a felony drug charge after a bathroom attendant at the Hard Rock Hotel allegedly caught him with a bag of white powder, which tested positive for cocaine.
He was due to appear in a Sin City court to answer the count on 4 February (11), but he has now dodged having the incident listed on his criminal record, according to TMZ.com.
The website claims the District Attorney in Clark County has agreed to a "deferred adjudication", allowing Mars to have the charge dismissed if he isn’t arrested in the next 12 months.
In exchange, Mars will complete 200 hours of community service and undergo private counselling sessions.
The plea deal is good news for Mars - he’s currently flying high at the top of the U.S. pop charts with his track Grenade, while he also scooped the most popular single and album for Doo-Wops & Hooligans in the U.K. last weekend (23Jan11).
And he’s set to battle it out at the 2011 Grammy Awards next month (Feb11) - he’s been nominated for an impressive seven prizes.

The 18 year old pulled out of the Jonas Brothers’ world tour in October (10) and checked into a medical facility to address emotional and physical issues.

Lovato spent the winter holidays under doctors’ care and reached out to fans earlier this month (Jan11) to thank them for "all their love, support and prayers" during her rehab stint.
She moved out of the treatment centre earlier this week (begs24Jan11) and is now working to get her life back on track as she continues to receive help as an out-patient, reports TMZ.com.

PIVEN SURPRISED BY CYRUS FRIENDSHIP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:08 am

Actor JEREMY PIVEN has become good pals with teenage superstar MILEY CYRUS after striking up an unlikely friendship on the set of their new movie SO UNDERCOVER.
The Entourage star appears alongside Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne in the film, and he admits even he was surprised at just how well he got along with the 18-year-old Hannah Montana singer/actress.
He tells Eonline.com, "I think I must be an 18-year-old girl because we got along really well. It was just so much fun. I had so much fun with her and we had great chemistry. I was really, really weird - we’re like polar opposites." And Piven has defended Cyrus against criticism for being a bad role model to her young fans, after she came under fire in December (10) when film footage of her smoking a huge pipe, believed to contain the legal high Salvia, was posted online.
The 45-year-old actor insists Cyrus is behaving just like any other teen her age.
He says, "You know, you can judge her, but what were you doing when you were 18? She’s kind of amazing. There’s something so incredibly refreshing about someone who is exactly who they are. There’s nothing pretentious about her. She’s this force. She loves to laugh." The new pals demonstrated their friendship during a wrap party for So Undercover earlier this week (begs24Jan11), when Cyrus took to the microphone with Piven on drums for an impromptu performance of I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.

OIL HEIR DAVIS BUSTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:08 am

U.S. oil heir JASON DAVIS has been arrested on suspicion of drug possession, a day after declaring he was clean during a live episode of hit reality show CELEBRITY REHAB.
The grandson of billionaire businessman Marvin Davis was a patient on counsellor-to-the-stars Dr. Drew Pinsky’s TV treatment show, which saw him receive help fighting his drink and drug demons at the Pasadena Recovery Center last year (10).
A live reunion episode of Celebrity Rehab aired in the U.S. on Wednesday (26Jan11), when Davis claimed he had managed to stay sober.
But he appears to have slipped back into his wild ways and was picked up by cops in Newport Beach, California on Thursday night (27Jan11).
He is facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance and has been placed on $20,000 (£13,330) bail, reports TMZ.com.
And Dr. Pinsky has offered his support to Davis in the hope his arrest will prompt him to return to rehab to conquer his troubles once and for all.
He tells the website, "Jason was honest about his struggles with his sobriety on the reunion show. Hopefully, now that there are legal consequences, further treatment will be mandated, which he so desperately needs. As I said when I saw him Wednesday, we care for him very deeply and we are here for him."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:38 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN has been released from hospital in Los Angeles and will return to work on his hit sitcom TWO AND A HALF MEN on Tuesday (01Feb11), after receiving treatment for a hernia.
The troubled actor was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Thursday (27Jan11) after complaining of abdominal pain, caused by a hiatal hernia.
Sheen was treated for the condition, caused when the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm, and is now recovering at his California home after being discharged from the medical centre on Thursday night.
His publicist, Stan Rosenfield, insists the star’s work schedule has not been affected by the health problem as Two and a Half Men has been on hiatus for the week (begs24Jan11). Filming will resume on Tuesday and Sheen will be back on set as scheduled.
In a statement released on Friday (28Jan11), Rosenfield says, "Charlie Sheen left the hospital last night and is at home. He will be on the set of Two and a Half Men on Tuesday." RYDER SHUNNED GORILLAZ TOUR FOR TV SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:38 pm

British rocker SHAUN RYDER turned down the chance to tour the world with GORILLAZ so he could appear on a U.K. reality TV show.
The Happy Mondays frontman featured on the band’s 2005 hit single Dare and he has appeared with them onstage for a number of shows, including their headline set at legendary British music festival Glastonbury last summer (10).
Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn asked Ryder to go on the road with the group for a 2010 world tour, but the rocker rejected the offer so he could appear on jungle survival series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Ryder insists he has no regrets over the snub, as he made the decision to promote his solo career.
He tells Britain’s Q magazine, "It’s f**king common sense. Doing a tour with all your showbiz mates is all well and good. But that don’t (sic) get your album in (U.K. supermarkets) Tesco or Asda. That don’t (sic) get you (interviews). The record company wanted me in there (the jungle) and I didn’t want to go, but it turns out I really enjoyed it."
