TYLER SNORTED SLEEPING PILLS BEFORE STAGE FALL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER has blamed his addiction to prescription pills for his devastating stage fall in South Dakota in 2009 - revealing he was snorting sleeping pills at the time.
The singer stunned fans during a performance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally when he fell off the stage and broke his shoulder, forcing the rockers to cancel the remainder of their North American tour.
Tyler previously put the accident down to a mis-timed dance move, but he’s now come clean about the real reason behind the incident.
He tells U.S. talk show host David Letterman, "I guess it’s not any news about my drug use and addictions in the past…
"So a couple of years ago I was doing Lunesta (sedative) because I had some problems with my feet… That’s the tip of the iceberg. I was snorting that, I fell off the stage… That shows you what kind of a drug addict I was. Only the finest for me… I was looking for any excuse to get high and I should have been using my band because my band is the strongest drug I’ve ever had." Tyler checked into rehab four months after the accident to kick his addiction for good.

ROGEN WANTED ORIGINAL HORNET TO CAMEO IN MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:20 pm

SETH ROGEN wanted original GREEN HORNET VAN WILLIAMS to make a cameo appearance in his new big screen blockbuster, but the 1960s TV star was scheduled for a medical procedure and unable to join the cast.
The Knocked Up funnyman appears in the new film as Britt Reid, the playboy son of a wealthy media mogul who eventually transforms into a superhero - the character Williams played over 40 years ago in the small screen series of the same name.
The actor was keen to bring Williams on board, but when producers eventually tracked the 76 year old down, they discovered he was unavailable for the job because of ongoing medical treatment.
Rogen tells the New York Daily News, "We tried to get him (Williams) involved in the movie in some capacity, to do a cameo or something, and we were never able to get him. I think we finally tracked where he was, but I think he was having a medical operation."

LEE HAILS GARFIELD AS ‘PERFECT’ SPIDER-MAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:28 pm

SPIDER-MAN creator STAN LEE has heaped praise on the web-slinger’s latest incarnation ANDREW GARFIELD, lauding him as the "perfect" replacement for TOBEY MAGUIRE.
The British actor has been chosen to take over from Maguire, who quit the franchise last year (10) after starring in three Spider-Man movies.
The new film will be a prequel to the previous installments, and Spider-Man mastermind Lee is happy with the decision to hire 27-year-old Garfield to play Peter Parker and his superhero alter-ego.
He says, "Looks just perfect to me. How he manages to look so young, I wish he’d teach me the secret.
"If you go back to Spider-Man as a teenager and you get a different actor, it might be that the audience will accept that more readily."

LOPEZ ACCUSED OF COPYING DELUNA SONG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:28 pm

JENNIFER LOPEZ has been accused of copying her latest track ON THE FLOOR from a record by R&B singer KAT DELUNA.
The Jenny From The Block hitmaker debuted her new single on Ryan Seacrest’s American radio show on Tuesday (18Jan11), and fans have already slated the song for its resemblance to DeLuna’s track Party O’Clock, which was released in Europe in November (10).
Critics have pointed out that both tracks were produced by music mogul RedOne and they claim the lyrics and harmonies are similar.
Lopez sings on her record, "Cuz London to Ibiza/Straight to L.A. New York/Vegas to Africa," while DeLuna chants, "Party in Ibiza, Party in New York/All the way to Africa/Love in the Caribbean/On my way to Vegas.â One web blogger has even made a video ‘mash-up’ of the two tracks to demonstrate their likeness, writing, "J Lo needs to thank Kat DeLuna.â But DeLuna is adamant she’s happy with the similarity of the records because she’s such a huge fan of Lopez, telling the New York Daily News, "Itâs cool that artists like J.Lo are inspired by my musical sound and style. Jennifer helped pave the way for Latinas like myself. I love her.â

BARLOW WORRIED BIRTHDAY SHOW WOULD BE TOO ‘EGOTISTICAL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:26 pm

TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW was worried staging a concert to mark his 40th birthday would be "egotistical" and nearly scrapped his plans until his wife convinced him to go ahead with the show.
The singer/songwriter will reach the milestone on Thursday (20Jan11) and he has organised a special charity gig in London to mark his big day.
But Barlow admits he was initially worried the show, his first solo concert in 11 years, would be viewed as too self-indulgent.
He tells BBC Radio 2, "It’s been a dangerous one, this… It sounds very egotistical having a gig for my birthday. That was my only worry to be honest, but my wife said, ‘What do you want to do? You should do what you really want to do on your birthday,’ and I said, ‘I want to do a concert!’ because I do love going on stage and singing.
"We’ve got a 1,200 strong fanbase, friends and family and I think it’ll be a really low-key nice event. I think it’s going to be all good vibes, I’m looking forward to it."

PARKER ANGEL SNUBBED O-TOWN REUNION TO ‘MOVE ON’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:26 pm

Singer/actor ASHLEY PARKER ANGEL snubbed the chance to reunite with his O-TOWN bandmates because he wants to "move on" with his life.
The All Or Nothing hitmakers, who formed on the first season of MTV reality show Making The Band in 2000, announced earlier this week (begs17Jan11) they are reforming as a four-piece, without Parker Angel.
He’s now opened up about his decision not to rejoin his former bandmates - Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, and Dan Miller - revealing he wants to concentrate on "the next chapter" of his career as an actor.
Parker Angel tells TMZ.com, "O-Town was one of the greatest chapters of my life, so when the idea of a reunion was brought to me, of course I was intrigued.
"However, I have made the decision not to be a part of an O-Town reunion. It was a difficult decision, but ultimately necessary to move on with the next chapter of my career." The group disbanded in 2003, after releasing two albums. Parker Angel has since starred on Broadway and taken on film and TV roles.

ETHERIDGE’S EX SLAMS NEW ROMANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:25 pm

MELISSA ETHERIDGE’s former partner TAMMY LYNN MICHAELS has voiced her anger after revelations of the star’s new relationship hit headlines this week (beg17Jan11).
The Come To My Window hitmaker ended her nine-year romance with Michaels in April 2010, and the break-up turned messy last summer (10) as they battled over finances and custody of their four-year-old twins, Johnnie Rose and Miller.
Etheridge has found love again with TV writer Linda Wallem, who ironically acted as ‘best man’ at the pair’s wedding in 2003, and after news of the relationship broke on Tuesday (18Jan11), Michaels took to her blog to claim in poet-like prose that Etheridge has long harboured feelings for the Nurse Jackie creator.
She writes, "One never even said one was breaking up with me. One only says things in song and string.
"And then I listened to the album and I understood… you don’t want to work it out… You already have someone in the wings… You already have pined for another. You are done here.
"I moved out November 23, 2009. She said it would help. I was convinced it would too and I trusted there was no-one else. I didn’t know there was someone moving in as I was moving out." And Michaels reveals she grew suspicious that Etheridge was planning to end their relationship after a box of sex toys were sent to her home by mistake.
She adds, "Three weeks later a box of new toys was delivered and her assistant brought it to my rental house as a mistake. I opened it and that’s when I felt something was up."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:23 pm

BACKSTREET BOYS star BRIAN LITTRELL has praised his bandmate A.J. MCLEAN for seeking help in rehab - insisting he’s glad his pal checked into the facility of his own accord.
The 33-year-old singer, who has battled substance abuse issues for many years, entered a clinic earlier this month (Jan11) "for personal reasons".
McLean previously enrolled in treatment programs in 2001 and 2002, and Littrell insists it was a struggle to get him into rehab the "last time", but he is "proud" his pal is now actively seeking to solve his problems.
Littrell tells North Carolina radio station Bob 93.3, "I’m proud that he would go into this situation willingly… Last time it was a lot worse. He really went into rehab unwillingly the last time." Backstreet Boys are due to embark on a joint tour with New Kids on the Block in June (11).

SHERLOCK HOLMES RETURNS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

Legendary literary sleuth SHERLOCK HOLMES is to be brought back to life in a new book - the first to be approved by the estate of SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE since his death in 1930.
Conan Doyle shot to fame in the 1880s with his popular detective tales, which spawned 56 short stories and four novels, the last of which was published in 1927.
Many other authors have attempted to follow up the Holmes tales with their own unofficial books, but Conan Doyle’s estate has now chosen a writer to officially continue his legacy.
Anthony Horowitz, famed for creating the Alex Rider spy novels which spawned Alex Pettyfer’s 2006 movie Stormbreaker, has been hired to write a new full-length Sherlock Holmes book - and he admits the job is a dream come true.
He says, "I fell in love with the Sherlock Holmes stories when I was 16 and I’ve read them many times since. I simply couldn’t resist this opportunity to write a brand new adventure for this iconic figure. My aim is to produce a first-rate mystery for a modern audience while remaining absolutely true to the spirit of the original." The currently untitled novel will be published in September (11).

ROSSUM’S STRUGGLES WITH SHAMELESS ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:20 pm

EMMY ROSSUM was apprehensive about taking a role in the U.S. adaptation of British TV show SHAMELESS because she felt uncomfortable about the graphic sex scenes and gritty content.
The Phantom of the Opera star appears opposite William H. Macy and Joan Cusack in the new series, which focuses on a dysfunctional family living in Chicago, Illinois.
Rossum didn’t want to audition for the role of Fiona Gallagher initially, because she was put off by the nudity, swearing and shocking storylines, but her agent persuaded her to give it a go.
She tells the New York Post, "I was loathe to do that (the sex scenes), but she’s a really interesting character and it’s rare for actresses to get good opportunities. My agent said, ‘People would never see you in that role… it’s a great part… you have to fight for it.’ "So, although I felt a little guilt, I got the script and auditioned four times. It’s not necessarily pretty writing. No time for sweet sayings. Mostly grip and grope - making love on the floor, the father’s drunk, cops come… He hits the kids." Rossum also struggled to come to terms with her appearance on the show, adding, "I wear no make-up. None. My hair’s frizzed out. (But) I’m OK with not looking my best…"

LYNCH INSPIRED BY COWELL FOR GLEE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:19 pm

Actress JANE LYNCH looks to SIMON COWELL for inspiration for her tough-talking GLEE character - because the music mogul always says what he thinks.
Lynch plays scathing cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the all-singing, all-dancing show and she admits watching the former American Idol judge’s put-downs have helped her perfect the role.
She tells Britain’s The Sun, "If ever there was a guy who tells it like it is, then it’s Simon Cowell. You could definitely look at Sue and say there’s a lot of Simon in her. He’s a great inspiration for the character of Sue - there is a lot that I can take from him and put into her. Just like him, she says what she wants because she can - there is nobody there to tell either of them to stop.
"The show has been a big hit and I’m amazed at the public’s overwhelming response to Sue. I think it falls back to the whole Simon Cowell thing. Simon and Sue say the things people wish they could in their jobs or at their school, but can’t because it’s not the done thing. Everybody has a bit of Simon and Sue in them, the difference is that most people control it.

OLIVER COOKING FOR FLOOD VICTIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:19 pm

Celebrity chef JAMIE OLIVER has joined aid efforts in Australia by handing out free meals to flood victims in Queensland.
The Brit was due to open one of his Ministry of Food Centres in Ipswich, Queensland in March (11) to provide cookery lessons and nutrition advice to local residents.
But since the area was devastated by flood waters this month (Jan11), Oliver has put his plans on hold and opened a kitchen to provide hot meals to those who have lost their homes in the disaster. The centre will provide 250 free meals a day to those in need, as well as relief workers who are spear-heading the clean-up efforts.
Oliver says in a statement, "I’ve been as shocked as anyone by the scenes of devastation in Queensland and the tragic stories to go with them. It’s only right that the Ministry of Food Centre in Ipswich plays its part in helping the community, so I hope that providing free freshly cooked meals for those who need them most will go some way to helping the local community and relief workers in the coming days and weeks. The people of Queensland are always in my thoughts at the moment."

She tells Self magazine, "I was always with other aspiring models. There were bingers and purgers, and everyone watched each other eat.
"It freaked me out. I did juice fasts and crazy diets and ended up gaining weight. My father did an intervention and got me to stop obsessing about everyone else and wrecking my body."
