Comedian-turned-TV presenter GEORGE LOPEZ had CAMERON DIAZ laughing nervously on his late-night show on Wednesday (19Jan11) when he challenged her to a golf target game and urged her to hit a miniature ALEX RODRIGUEZ.
The actress is rumoured to be dating the baseball superstar, but has yet to confirm stories linking the high-profile pair.
But she was left chuckling by Lopez’s inventive way of getting a comment out of her when she appeared on his show.
As they lined up to test their golfing accuracy in the studio, Lopez pointed out the targets - a vase, a container full of "hair gel" from Diaz’s cult movie There’s Something About Mary, a bottle of grape juice and a Rodriguez bobblehead.
Lopez then quipped, "I would hit that, wouldn’t you?" Diaz giggled and squirmed before whispering something in the host’s year.
Candid Lopez then said, "Let’s take that one (bobblehead) down because she said that she hit it already." Red-faced Diaz then doubled up in laughter and slapped Lopez on the back.
To help his guest’s golf game, Lopez presented Diaz with a custom-made putter.

LED ZEPPELIN star JOHN BONHAM once threatened to beat STING up backstage at a POLICE concert.
The late rocker took his son Jason to the show and then arranged for him to meet his idol - but the encounter almost turned violent after the drummer accidentally stepped on Sting’s foot.
Jason Bonham tells Spinner.com, "I thought Sting was the coolest thing in the world.
"He (dad) managed to get me backstage and he threatened to punch Sting. It was hilarious. Dad stepped on his foot and he (Sting) was very cocky back then. He was the new young frontman and had that punk kind of attitude. Dad was probably a dinosaur to him, even at 32.
"I remember him saying, ‘Hey man, don’t step on my blue suede shoes.’ My dad said, ‘I’ll step on your f**king head in a minute’."

Movie star GEORGE CLOONEY has revealed he contracted malaria during a recent trip to Sudan.
The Oscar winner has become a leading advocate for refugees desperate to see an end to decades of civil war in the African nation and he has become a regular visitor, shooting awareness films in the hope of prompting U.S. politicians to support his efforts to bring warlords to justice.
In a new TV interview with CNN host Piers Morgan, Clooney reveals his most recent trip to Africa was his toughest yet. He was working on an initiative with Google and the United Nations, which involved the installation of satellite cameras to capture any uprising following Sudan’s independence vote, when he fell seriously ill with the mosquito-borne disease.
He says, "I guess the mosquito in Juba looked at me and thought I was the bar." Clooney told Morgan it was the second time he had contracted malaria, and joked he thinks Sudan’s President Bashir was behind both cases.

Rapper/actor ROMEO MILLER is heading to primetime - he’s scored a role on new U.S. TV drama THE CAPE.
The hip-hop star, who recently appeared as a guest star on TV legal drama The Defenders, is set to make a more permanent mark on the small screen after joining the cast of the NBC show, about an ex-cop, played by David Lyons, who sets out to fight corruption in the police force and clear his name after being framed for a spate of crimes.
Miller, 21, will portray smart-talking gangster Lil Z, the sidekick to a character named Pokerface, played by Michael Irby and will make his show debut later this year (11).

SINEAD O’CONNOR and ROBERT DOWNEY, JR. have teamed up to put one of JIM MORRISON’s poems to music as part of a new anti-nuclear protest album.
The odd couple join Sting, Jonathan Davis, Serj Tankian and Yes star Jon Anderson, among others for benefit album Prayer Cycle 2: Path to Zero.
Their track, Fallout, which also features System of a Down star Tankian, was penned by tragic Morrison before his death in 1971.
Project co-ordinator and composer Jonathan Elias admits he won permission to use Morrison’s recording from The Doors’ legend’s estate after calling on the group’s producer Paul Rothchild to help him seek out the rare track.
He says, "I went to the family through their attorneys and told them about this project, and they agreed to license it. Being a Jim Morrison fan, I was pretty excited about it." All proceeds from the album - a sequel to Elias’ 1999 release The Prayer Cycle, will benefit anti-nuclear organisation Global Zero.

Movie icon ROBERT REDFORD has struck a deal with one of India’s leading film companies to promote independent Asian cinema in America.
Officials at Redford’s Sundance Institute announced they had joined forces with New Delhi’s Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday (20Jan11) as this year’s Sundance Film Festival got underway in Park City, Utah.
A statement from M&M Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra reads, "Our intention is to nurture as well as hone the talents of an exciting new generation of Indian filmmakers. The guidance and knowhow of Sundance shall be extremely valuable to us in our initiatives." The initiative prompts the establishment of the Mumbai Mantra Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab, which shall become an annual event in India.
Redford says, "For Sundance Institute, this initiative represents our commitment to cultural exchange and allows us to extend our support of international filmmakers to a next generation of film artists emerging from India.
As part of the new agreement, four filmmakers from around the world will receive a grant and be invited to attend the Sundance Film Festival for targeted industry meetings.

Bosses at Sony Pictures Worldwide have acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to Morgan Spurlock’s The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, which will premiere at Sundance this weekend (22Jan11).
The documentary from the guy behind Super Size Me, focuses on product placement in entertainment.
Sony Pictures Classics will release the film in the U.S. in April (11).

WOODY HARRELSON has applauded officials at America’s National Institutes of Health for stalling plans to transfer 186 chimpanzees from an ape sanctuary in New Mexico to a laboratory in the actor’s home state of Texas.
The animal-loving movie star has fired off a letter to NIH directors after they bowed to pressure from animal rights groups like PETA and shelved plans to perform invasive and painful infectious disease experiments at the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research in San Antonio.
Harrelson is now asking the officials to return another 14 apes to the Alamogordo sanctuary. The chimps were transferred from the rehabilitation facility to the laboratory in 2010.
In his letter, written on behalf of PETA, Harrelson writes, "These aging chimpanzees… have endured decades of violence and torment, having been used in everything from space experiments to high-velocity seat belt tests.
"Only in the last few years have they enjoyed bedding, fruit, toys, the touch and companionship of other chimpanzees, and freedom from the knife. Will you please return the 14 chimpanzees… to these simple pleasures and allow them to continue the rehabilitation that they have more than earned?"

The grieving mother of tragic anorexic French model ISABELLE CARO has committed suicide, less than two months after her daughter died at the age of 28.
Caro, who gave anorexia a face in a shocking 2007 awareness campaign, passed away at the Bichat Hospital in France on 17 November (10) after battling the eating disorder for almost 15 years.
Now it has emerged her mum, Marie, took her own life earlier this month (Jan11) after struggling with the "guilt" she felt after forcing her daughter to stay at the medical centre to receive treatment for severe dehydration. Staff at the facility are now facing legal action over allegations of negligence, which reportedly led to Caro’s death.
Caro’s stepfather, Christian, tells Swiss newspaper 20 Minutes, "(Marie) felt guilty for having put my daughter in the Bichat Hospital. My daughter did not want to go to that hospital."

JENNIFER LOPEZ and STEVEN TYLER’s debut as AMERICAN IDOL judges has proved a hit with the critics.
Season 10 of the TV talent show got underway on Wednesday night (19Jan11) with Tyler and Lopez replacing Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell on the hit show - and the two superstars wowed contestants and TV critics with their enthusiastic response to wannabes at auditions in New Jersey, which were taped last year (10).
The Los Angeles Times’ Mary McNamara writes, "Moments into Wednesday night’s season premiere, it was gratifyingly clear that for the first time in a long time the fumblings and flailings of contestants fighting to find their feet on stage will not be mirrored by the judges’ table.
"Not only are they great to look at, Lopez and Tyler are long-time stars who have nothing to gain, or lose, by being part of American Idol." She adds, "Their natural confidence in front of the camera was such a blessed relief that it was hard to miss even the bracing ballistics of Simon Cowell." New York Post critic Linda Stasi agreed, calling the duo’s "instant chemistry" with existing judge Randy Jackson "so right, they couldn’t have created it in a lab".
She continues, "Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are not and will never be Paula (Abdul, another former judge) and Simon. They didn’t do the brother/sister love/hate thing - and didn’t try to. And that was great. They did something completely different. They were themselves - two superstars fully engaged and absorbed. And not with themselves, but with the contestants. Perfect." However, the show lost a few viewers - the premiere opened to the lowest ratings since season one.

Superstars PRINCE and MADONNA have ended their decades-long feud after the MATERIAL GIRL turned up to one of his recent New York concerts and cheered him on from the crowd.
The pop idols were close friends throughout the 1980s and briefly became lovers before teaming up to record the track Love Song, from Madonna’s 1988 album Like a Prayer.
But they suffered a mystery fall-out and their relationship turned bitter as they took shots at one another through the media.
In subsequent interviews, Madonna blasted Prince as a "little troll" and criticised his refusal to eat during one dinner date.
She said, "He was just sipping tea, very daintily. I have this theory about people who don’t eat. They annoy me." Their spat continued throughout the years and Prince most recently took aim at mother-of-four Madonna at a concert in London in 2007, when he quipped, "I got so many hits y’all can’t handle me. I got more hits than Madonna’s got kids!" But the old pals now appear to have put their differences to rest - according to UsMagazine.com, Madonna was spotted in the audience at Prince’s Madison Square Garden gig on Tuesday (18Jan11), singing and clapping along to the soul star’s hits.
And Prince even acknowledged Madonna’s presence by giving her a special shout out from the stage, after joking about the high-price of their concert tickets.

Rapper/producer LIL JON is in trouble with U.S. tax authorities - he reportedly owes over $600,000 (£400,000) in unpaid fees.
The Get Low hitmaker, real name Jonathan Smith, was hit with a tax lien amounting to $638,937 (£425,958) last June (10) for his home in the Isle of Palms in South Carolina.
He failed to settle the debt with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the $1.9 million (£1.27 million) mansion was foreclosed in August (10), reports the Detroit News.
Despite his tax troubles, Lil Jon is set to show off his credentials as a businessman as a contestant on property mogul Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. The new season of the reality show kicks off in March (11).

Rap sensation NICKI MINAJ was almost booted out of a top London hotel on Thursday (20Jan11) after bosses became annoyed by the huge numbers of fans crowding the entrance to the venue to catch a glimpse of the star.

She adds, "I can’t NOT interact with my barbz. Do u NOT know how hard that is?"

Pop star KE$HA’s family history has come under scrutiny after a man purporting to be her father accused the singer of lying about not knowing the identity of her real dad.
Engineer Bob Chamberlain, a musician himself, has been left devastated by the TiK ToK hitmaker’s repeated assertions about her fatherless childhood - because he alleges he was in regular contact with her and her mother Pebe Sebert throughout her youth.
He claims they spent time together as she was growing up and he even has photos of the pair and letters from his famous daughter, addressed, "Dear Dad…".
He lost contact with Ke$ha, now 23, four years ago, but was left baffled when he heard the singer had completely erased him from her memory.
Speaking out for the first time, Chamberlain tells America’s Star magazine, "I was in her life from the time she was born until she was 19 years old.
"The contact ended, and I have no idea why. Maybe someone around her thought it would be better to perpetuate those myths; I don’t know."

Rapper PLIES flew into a rage during a recent concert in Florida and threatened to shoot up the crowd after he was hit with a cup during his show.
The star, real name Algernod Washington, was performing in Orlando earlier this week (begs17Jan11) when a member of the audience threw an empty cup onstage.
Plies reacted with fury and blasted his home crowd, cursing them as he vowed to take matters into his own hands.
