EADS HAS A LOT OF ‘RESPECT’ FOR BIEBER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION star GEORGE EADS has lavished praise on JUSTIN BIEBER - insisting he has gained a lot of "respect" for the teenage pop star since his cameo appearance in the show.
The singer filmed a guest slot on the crime series last year (10) and recently returned to appear in a second episode.
He shot many of his scenes with Eads, and the actor admits he enjoyed working with the Baby hitmaker.
Eads tells E! Online, "He’s a cool kid,. He’s in the eye of a hurricane and I think he handles himself really well…We had a lot of intense scenes together. We got along really well. I really respect the kid." And Eads believes Bieber could have a future acting career as long as he continues to improve his technique, adding: "I think he has a lot to learn, but he was just fine for what he was doing there. You know, it’s not Gone With the Wind. It’s CSI! It’s four or fives lines. I mean, it’s not a Rubik’s Cube."

MCGILLIS HID SEXUALITY FOR KIDS’ SAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

TOP GUN star KELLY MCGILLIS refused to ‘come out’ as gay for years - because she was afraid the revelation would make her children miserable.
The actress became involved with her current partner Melanie Leis while she was still married to her second husband, Fred Tillman, but she kept her sexuality a secret from the world to protect her daughters, Kelsey and Sonora.
McGillis, who only ‘came out’ publicly last year (10), also admits she struggled to accept her true feelings.
She tells Britain’s The Times Magazine, "I had a lot of shame issues attached to my sexuality. A lot. If Mel touched me in public, I would just freak out and go, ‘Don’t do that: stay 20 feet away from me.’ "It was also a burden on my children - it got to the point where Sonora wouldn’t allow Mel and me to come to her football matches together because she was so embarrassed. People say, ‘Why didn’t you come out earlier?’ I just thought it would be incredibly selfish to put my kids through that misery because of something that I needed to do for me…
"If I were more mature and healthy, I would have done it very differently, but I wasn’t very well and I certainly wasn’t thinking about my children. I was completely self-absorbed. Ultimately, my children suffered a great deal because of it. But I can’t take that back."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:26 pm

ICARLY star MIRANDA COSGROVE has made a young cancer patient’s dream come true - by holding a private concert in her hospital room.
Little Carrie Janik, who is battling a brain tumour, was stunned when Cosgrove showed up in her Chicago, Illinois hospital room on Friday (28Jan11) to sing three songs at her bedside.
Janik’s mum Katrina had contacted iCarly bosses about organising a visit after the seven year old’s condition took a turn for the worse in September (10), and producers offered her free tickets to a concert.
She was unable to attend the gig so Cosgrove decided to pay a special visit to Janik ahead of her show in the city on Friday (28Jan11).
Katrina explains, "Carrie was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 18 months old, and she’s been battling cancer ever since.
"We asked her what she wanted more than anything in the world, and she said she wanted to meet iCarly.
"To be able to give Carrie this gift is something that she really wanted."

SHEEN ‘LOOKING FORWARD TO REGAINING HIS SOBRIETY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:44 pm

CHARLIE SHEEN’s manager has confirmed the troubled actor is recovering in rehab and is "looking forward to regaining his sobriety".
The Two and a Half Men star checked into an undisclosed facility on Saturday (29Jan11), just days after he was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital to be treated for a hiatal hernia. Reports suggested Sheen had been partying prior to his health scare.
Sheen’s manager, Mark Burg, has now spoken out to reveal the star is willingly seeking help for his problems, telling People.com, "He was bombarded by every rehab in the country looking for his wallet and publicity, and he has been deciding where to go. With the help of friends and family, he finally agreed to go and went into rehab on Saturday." Production on Sheen’s hit sitcom has been suspended while the actor continues his treatment, and Burg reveals there is currently no timetable for getting the star back to work.
He adds, "Charlie knows he has work to do and he is looking forward to regaining his sobriety. Charlie hopes to be back at work in the near future but there is no time frame. Regaining his sobriety is what is most important." Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards, the mother of his two daughters, has since thanked fans for their well wishes and urged caution over rumours swirling online.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "Thank you so much for you (sic) kind and supportive messages… it means a lot… thank u… I love how certain media outlets say my ‘friends’ are speaking to the press… all B.S. (bulls**t). Nothing has been discussed, this is a private matter."

KNIGHTLEY ‘PARALYSED WITH SHYNESS’ AT PARTIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:41 pm

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY is a nightmare party guest - the actress insists she is "paralysed with shyness" when chatting with strangers.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star admits she is hopeless at socialising since she began making movies as a young girl and missed out on spending time with people her own age.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "I had an amazing time (starring in films), it was extraordinary, but the difference was between my age and experience. I’d experienced a lot, work-wise, but as far as normal progression… I’d never sat in pubs with friends, I’d never been out clubbing. Any of the things you normally do at uni, I’d bypassed. So on one level I was very grown-up and on another level with the whole social thing, I was really far behind." Now Knightley dreads attending parties - because she struggles to make conversation and ends up looking like an "ice queen".
She adds, "Going into a room full of people at a party I find one of the most terrifying things in the entire world. I normally last about 10 minutes. I’m a complete failure. I went to one the other day. Standing in the corner, couldn’t find anything to say, just ran out. Awful. My friends are like, ‘What are you - an idiot? What’s the matter with you?’ I just can’t. I get completely paralysed with shyness, just totally paralysed.
"One of my friends was like, ‘You turn into an ice queen. What is it? You just turn into a b***h.’ And I don’t mean to look like a b***h, but I just don’t know what to say. This is the problem with a shy person being famous."

KNIGHTLEY: ‘LIVE THEATRE IS ORGASMIC’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:41 pm

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has declared live theatre more rewarding than moviemaking, likening performing on stage to "sex with an orgasm".
The actress is currently appearing in a production of The Children’s Hour in London, and insists the experience is more exhilarating than the drawn-out work that goes into films.
She tells Britain’s Elle magazine, "Oh, God, the only thing that’s going through my head to describe it is it’s like sex with an orgasm at the end of it! Whereas film is like you have sex, but you never get the orgasm. A lot of stopping and starting… It’s the completion of the story, the full arc." And Knightley reveals she opted to make her stage comeback - a year after making her debut in The Misanthrope in the British capital - so she could improve her craft.
She adds, "I really noticed (in the Misanthrope) what I couldn’t do and what I failed at. I’m just not interested in standing still. You go, ‘OK, that was great and that bit was great - that’s, um, great.’ But if I’m not getting better, not learning, not changing, then what’s the point of it? It must be boring for people to watch it if it’s always the same… Not that I’m saying I made huge progress."

HURLEY TEACHES HER PARROT TO TALK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:41 pm

ELIZABETH HURLEY is holding speech therapy classes - to teach her pet parrot to talk.
The actress/model was given the exotic bird as a Christmas present last year (10) and she has already heard her feathered friend say ‘Hello’.
The female bird, named Ping Pong, has also shown her cheeky side by wolf-whistling at the British beauty - and now Hurley is giving her lessons to improve her English.
Taking to her Twitter.com blog, Austin Powers star Hurley writes, "She’s said ‘hello’, wolf whistled and giggled. She’s also been practising her nipping… Ping Pong is at her sweetest and we’re having a speech class. ‘Hello Baby’ and ‘Meeeow’ are on today’s syllabus… Still haven’t had any parrot screeches and squawks, but lots of beautifully enunciated ‘hellos’ and some saucy wolf whistles."

PALTROW WANTED TO SCRAP GOOP TO HALT CRITICISM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:38 pm

The Oscar-winner, known for her health-conscious diet and strict exercise routine, began to hand out wellbeing advice on the web in 2008, and writes a weekly newsletter to subscribers on everything from holistic medicine to the best places to eat in London.

She tells Harper’s Bazaar, "There were a couple of times when I thought, ‘I’m just gonna stop doing it. People are so mean to me. I don’t want to do it’. But then I was like, ‘Who cares what some lame person out there says?’"

MAY BACKS RESIDENTS’ PROTEST OVER TRUMP’S GOLF COURSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:38 pm

QUEEN legend BRIAN MAY has thrown his support behind a campaign against DONALD TRUMP’s controversial golf course resort in Scotland, insisting he’s "disgusted" nearby residents may be forced to move out to make way for the venture.
The property tycoon-turned-TV personality faced years of setbacks over his plans to build the $1 billion-plus development in Aberdeen amid concerns the construction would damage sand dunes in the protected area.
He finally got the go-ahead by officials at Aberdeenshire Council and started building work last July (10), with an eye to completing the project by 2012.
But Trump is still facing angry protests from local residents over the threat of a compulsory purchase of four family homes nearby, one of which belongs to 86-year-old Molly Forbes.
May is supporting the campaign by giving protesters permission to use his band’s classic song Bohemian Rhapsody in an anti-Trump video.
He says, "I can see there is a horrible example here of bullying the defenceless by a rich man who apparently can buy anything he wants. I deplore this kind of abuse and feel greatly for Molly and the others who are being ridden over by a very selfish man. And what the world certainly does not need is more golf courses. I am disgusted.
"I sincerely hope you will be able to stop this nasty project in its tracks and I will do what I can to bring it a little more out in the open. I’m happy to secure you permission to try this yourself (make a Bohemian Rhapsody video)."

INDONESIAN ROCKER ARIEL JAILED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:35 pm

Indonesian rocker NAZRIL ‘ARIEL’ IRHAM has been sentenced to more than three years in jail on pornography charges after a homemade sex tape appeared online.
The Peterpan frontman turned himself in to police in Jakarta last June (10) after the explicit footage leaked on the internet and hit headlines in the conservative Islamic state.
The video is said to show the singer in bed with two female Indonesian celebrities.
The 29 year old was jailed for three-and-a-half years on Monday (31Jan11) as police struggled to control thousand of fans and conservative campaigners who descended on the courtroom.
Judge Singgih Budi Prakoso said, "The defendant is legitimately and convincingly guilty of giving chances for others to spread, make and provide pornography… As a public figure, the defendant should be aware that fans might imitate his behaviour." Irham was found guilty of violating the country’s strict anti-pornography laws, which came into force in 2008.

O’CONNOR EXPLAINS ‘SUICIDE’ COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:35 pm

Irish singer SINEAD O’CONNOR has spoken out to reassure fans after she sparked fears for her health with a number of worrying posts on Twitter.com.
The Nothing Compares 2 U hitmaker recently posted several messages on the social networking website in which she wrote about having suicidal feelings. She has now shut down her Twitter account and explained her comments.
In a frank interview with the Irish Mail on Sunday, O’Connor reveals she has been feeling overwhelmed by motherhood as she raises her children single-handedly.
She says, "I would never act on those feelings. A lot of people have suicidal thoughts and you should never be ashamed to say that is how you are feeling. That was how I was feeling at the time that I wrote on Twitter and now I am dealing with my feelings.
"But I would never ever act on those feelings. By saying you feel the way you do it’s a way of getting rid of the feelings. When I posted on Twitter it was like emotional diarrhoea, I was thinking out loud and it was a great blessing that I could express those thoughts." O’Connor admits she is particularly struggling with her six-year-old son, Shane, who was born following an affair with musician Donal Lunny.
She explains, "Last summer, I lost my temper with him and smashed his Xbox (games console) on the floor. Now people will probably say that I am a terrible mother doing that, but I just couldn’t cope… I felt suicidal because it’s my fault that Shane’s father isn’t in his life." And the singer admits she would welcome a visit from social workers to give her advice on how to cope in stressful times.
She adds, "They’re very helpful. They’re in the business of supporting parents and therefore kids… So I wouldn’t mind at all if they came around. Maybe they’d have some advice… Social services are way better than some psychologists."

RAFFERTY’S FIANCEE TELLS OF STAR’S BOOZE BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:35 pm

GERRY RAFFERTY’s fiancee has opened up about the tragic musician’s devastating battle with alcoholism, revealing the star became hooked on booze at the age of seven.
The 63-year-old Scottish songwriter, known for his iconic tracks Stuck In The Middle With You and Baker Street, passed away earlier this month (Jan11) after suffering liver failure, caused by years of heavy drinking.
Now his devastated partner Ezina Fuschini has given an insight into the rocker’s tormented life, revealing she immediately tried to help him beat his demons after a chance meeting in a London cafe in 2008.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "He was like a wounded beast. I wanted to save his life. Now that he is gone, I am devastated. He was my soulmate, my man." After the pair first met, Rafferty invited Fuschini to visit him at a hotel, and when she arrived she found the star injured from a drunken fall, prompting him to reveal all about his battle with booze.
She adds, "The (hotel) door was slightly ajar, and I peeked into the room. It was a disturbing scene, he had injured himself in a fall while drinking. Gerry beckoned me over and I immediately felt huge compassion for him. We talked about his alcoholism. He told me that he felt that he was under some sort of evil spell. He felt crippled by it.
"He told me he believed his alcoholism started when he was aged just seven when an aunt gave him a glass of sherry at a wedding and it had made him feel happier, lighter." And Fuschini admits she is wracked with guilt because she was not at Rafferty’s hospital bedside on the night he died: "Gerry wanted me by his deathbed, but I wasn’t there. I wanted to help him find some dignity. I didn’t want him to have a terrible ending."

STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO BARRY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:32 pm

Stars including SIMON LE BON, STEPHEN FRY and SIMON PEGG have led tributes to Bond composer JOHN BARRY, who died on Sunday (30Jan11).
The Oscar-winning musician, who wrote the iconic theme tunes for 007 films including Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever, suffered a fatal heart attack in New York. He was 77.
A number of stars have spoken out to honour the late Brit, with Duran Duran singer Le Bon recalling his former collaborator’s inspiring talent.
The pair co-wrote 1985 track A View to a Kill for the Bond movie of the same name, and received a Golden Globe nomination for their hit.
Le Bon says, "I would say he had a very, very full life. I mean, when we met him, he was really enjoying himself.
"The music is an important part of any film, and when you’ve got something as recognisable as the Bond themes, but also the kind of music which was in them, it was so important in making the film work." Meanwhile, funnyman Pegg took to his Twitter.com page to remember Barry’s musical legacy: "The composer of so many classic film scores from Midnight Cowboy to Dances with Wolves and of course all those Bonds. RIP John Barry OBE." British actor/writer Fry admits he was saddened by the news, calling Barry a mensch, the Yiddish word for a person of honour.
He writes, "John Barry has died. How sad. One of the greats and a real mensch. RIP." Superproducer Mark Ronson also dedicated a ‘tweet’ to Barry, writing: "RIP John Barry 1 of the greatest composers EVER. Goldfinger Diamonds Are Forever View To A Kill… & Midnight Cowboy, Out of Africa, You Only Live Twice etc… every time John Barry sat down to write a score, he wrote a modern standard."

BOND COMPOSER BARRY DIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:32 pm

Oscar-winning composer JOHN BARRY, the man behind many of the iconic JAMES BOND theme tunes, has passed away at the age of 77.
The British musician suffered a fatal heart attack on Sunday (30Jan11).
His fellow Bond composer, David Arnold, took to Twitter.com to write, "It was with a heavy heart that I tell you John Barry passed away this morning.
"I am profoundly saddened by the news but profoundly thankful for everything he did for music and for me personally." Starting his career working on music for BBC programmes, Barry moved on to arrange orchestral accompaniments for EMI and was approached to help compose the score for James Bond’s first big screen outing in 1962’s Dr. No.
He went on to devise the iconic style of music throughout some of the spy series’ most popular films, and composed legendary theme tunes including Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, Thunderball and Diamonds Are Forever.
As well as his work on 11 Bond films, he composed music for Born Free, Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves, all of which won him Academy Awards.
Barry received a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) fellowship in 2005.

GARFIELD FINDS CHAT-UP LINES ‘CRASS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:32 pm

Actor ANDREW GARFIELD refuses to flirt with girls in bars - because he finds using chat-up lines "inappropriate and crass".
The Brit, who is tipped for superstardom after winning the role of Spider-Man in an upcoming blockbuster, is in a relationship with actress Shannon Woodward.
But he’s adamant if he was single he would never approach women in clubs for a date - insisting using pick-up lines on strangers kills the "romance".
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "I’m terrible. I have absolutely no idea. I’ve also always kind of baulked at the concept of ‘the game’. You have all these automaton men going into bars saying the same lines, kind of half-insulting a girl in the hope they’re going to sleep with them.
"It’s just so inappropriate and crass and it takes all the romance and mystery out of courtship and out of meeting someone and just sparking something. I always just like to leave that stuff up to chance."
