Rapper NAS’ financial difficulties appear to be spiralling out of control - he owes more than $6 million (£4 million) to U.S. tax officials, according to a new report.
The I Can star’s money woes began in October 2009, when he was first hit with a tax lien for $2.58 million (£1.72 million) by officials at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
He received another bill in February last year (10) and was slapped with a new invoice earlier this month (Jan11), according to records filed with the New York City Register of Deeds.
His total tax debt now stands at just over $6.46 million (£4.31 million), reports the Detroit News.
But Nas’ financial problems don’t stop there - he has also been accused of falling behind on a year’s worth of fees on his apartment in his native Queens, New York, amounting to $3,860 (£2,573).
The hip-hop star’s bank balance took a huge hit following his marriage split from singer Kelis in 2009, after he was ordered to make monthly spousal and child support payments. He pleaded poverty last year (10) and had the regular amounts reduced by half from $50,000 (£33,333) to $25,000 (£16,666).

JACKSON HAVING A ‘DIFFICULT TIME’ SINCE SON’S DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:35 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s mother KATHERINE "can’t stand" to look at DR. CONRAD MURRAY’s face as he battles charges of involuntary manslaughter, admitting she’s having a "difficult time" coping with the court cases stemming from her son’s 2009 death.
The Jackson family matriarch appeared on U.S. breakfast programme Good Morning America on Tuesday (25Jan11) and revealed her struggle to sit through court proceedings in the run-up to Murray’s trial. The medic stands accused of administering the drug Propofol which killed the singer in June, 2009.
Murray pleaded not guilty to the charge on Tuesday (25Jan11) ahead of his trial on 28 March (11) - and Katherine Jackson insisted the aftermath of the singer’s death has proved to be a very tough journey.
Jackson said: "It’s been a difficult time for me ever since my son passed. When I’m in that courtroom I can’t stand to look at that man (Murray)… and I go because I love my son… I just feel I have to be there." In addition to Murray’s involuntary manslaughter case, Katherine is dealing with a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by the singer’s estate executors against her business partner, Howard Mann.
Her associate is accused of publishing a number of unauthorised photographs in new coffee table book, Never Can Say Goodbye, and the 80 year old is taking the litigation particularly personally: "As far as the estate suing Howard Mann, my feeling is when they’re suing Howard Mann they’re suing me… because I authorised the book." As the court cases unfold, Jackson is also caring for her late son’s three children, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Blanket.
But she insists she’s not having trouble raising the kids despite her advancing years: "Michael’s children are good children, and he raised them out of love and understanding. I don’t have a hard time with them, because they know what, how their father had them raised, and their very respectful and also it’s a difference today." However, Katherine has one stern rule - she will not be allowing her grandchildren to follow in their father’s famous footsteps until they are older.
She adds, "I wouldn’t let (them) go into business at this early of age, like Paris wants to be an actress… and I don’t think Michael would have let her. He talked about (how) he didn’t have a childhood, he wanted to be more… play more."

DR. MURRAY: ‘I’M AN INNOCENT MAN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:35 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s personal physician DR. CONRAD MURRAY has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges, declaring in a Los Angeles court: "I’m an innocent man".
The medic is accused of administering the fatal dose of painkiller Propofol which led to the King of Pop’s death on 25 June, 2009.
Murray was arraigned in Los Angeles County Court on Tuesday morning (25Jan11), when he protested his innocence to Judge Michael Pastor before entering his plea.
He will stand trial on 28 March (11). If convicted, the doctor faces up to four years behind bars.
Meanwhile, Murray’s day in court got off to a macabre start after officials found a dead body slumped on a table outside the courthouse.
Security men were sweeping the grounds when they came across the dead homeless man, reports TMZ.com.

HANDLER DENIES HOOKING UP WITH THURMAN’S EX AT SUNDANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

50 CENT’s rumoured ex CHELSEA HANDLER has dismissed reports she’s found new love with UMA THURMAN’s former lover ANDRE BALAZS.
The comedienne was allegedly spotted making out with the hotelier at a Sundance Film Festival party in Utah on Saturday (22Jan11), after the pair attended a Florence & the Machine concert.
The New York Daily News reports Handler greeted Balazs at the Tao party by kissing him on the face, neck and lips, and "kept her arm slung around his shoulders", while the odd couple is said to have left the party together early on Sunday (23Jan11).
Ironically, 50 Cent was also a party guest.
But Handler insists gossip-hungry bloggers have got it all wrong - because she would never engage in such a public display of affection.
Laughing off the rumours on her show Chelsea Lately on Monday night (24Jan11), she said, "Apparently many inaccurate, dumb a** tipsters enjoyed watching me (party at Sundance), so I would like to clear up some of the ridiculous mistruths circulating in the usually impeccably accurate blogosphere…
"I was accused of canoodling with a male companion and shooting dirty looks at any other women in our vicinity. In general, I have a dirty look on my face all the time, don’t presume it’s for you! "The most outlandish report said that I was seen making out in public. I have never and will never make out with anyone in public."

ECKHART ‘VISUALISES’ PERFECT PARTNER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:26 pm

Single actor AARON ECKHART has dreamed up the perfect wife and he’s using mind techniques to "visualise" his ideal partner in the hope she will "manifest" in real life.
The 42-year-old star is desperate to find lasting love since his most recent romance with Molly Sims ended in 2009, and he’s drawing on his spirituality to make it a reality.
He tells Britain’s Sunday Telegraph, "I’ve got to get a wife at some point…. I do visualise the sort of person. I believe if you contextualise something then it will manifest in your life. I have done that with houses, cars, jobs. It absolutely works and it’s not hocus-pocus. I believe everything in life has a spiritual component and everything’s fair game. And people say, ‘Oh you want the perfect wife.’ Well, actually, I do." But The Dark Knight actor admits he’s not the easiest person to fall in love with.
He adds, "I think I’m a tough personality, I’m too intense and that doesn’t make for great relationships because I’m too demanding."

She tells Britain’s Independent on Sunday, "My weight bothers me hugely. It has overshadowed and crushed my life.
"I’ve let it happen through indiscipline, as food is one of my principal pleasures and I eat too much of it, particularly chopped liver. I’m going to be 70 this year and I’m still overweight, so I’ve learnt nothing; how ridiculous is that?"
