THOMPSON ‘INTIMIDATED’ BY SCHWARZENEGGER AS SON’S SOCCER COACH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:14 pm

Tough guy ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER used to become so aggressive during his son’s soccer matches he would infuriate the coach, folk singer RICHARD THOMPSON - but the musician felt too "intimidated" to reprimand the actor.
British rocker Thompson used to coach his son’s soccer team in Los Angeles, the same squad which Wolfgang Schwarzenegger played on.
The Terminator star would often turn up to watch his son play and he would offend Thompson by shouting out instructions throughout their sessions - but the musician couldn’t work up the courage to ask the actor to calm down.
Thompson tells MOJO magazine, "I coached my son’s team in Los Angeles. If you have a European accent of any description then you are the coach - you didn’t need any other qualification. Actually, I think I was a really good coach…
"Wolfgang Schwarzenegger (was on the team). Wolfie. Arnold was one of those parents who couldn’t stand to be silent on the touchline. He had to micro-manage his son through shouted instructions, sometimes in German. I hate parents who do that. I usually tell them. But I didn’t tell Arnie. He’s twice as wide as me so I was slightly intimidated. Wolfie was quite good actually…"

GRANT CONSIDERED SUICIDE AFTER ALBUM SESSIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:11 pm

American singer/songwriter JOHN GRANT considered suicide following the completion of his debut solo album, because his struggle with sobriety and the end of his long-term relationship left him in the depths of despair.
The gay rocker spent years battling drink and drug addiction, before finally kicking his bad habits in 2004.
The former The Czars frontman made a return to music in 2009 when he went into the studio to record his acclaimed album, Queen of Denmark, a collaboration with rock band Midlake.
Grant admits he was plunged into a dark depression after the record was finished, because a crushing a split from his boyfriend left him feeling trapped - and he credits his loved ones with getting him through the tough times.
He tells Britain’s Q magazine, "I was convinced taking my life was the only option. The reason I’ve made it is because I’m surrounded by incredible people. Quitting drinking just exposes all of the rot that you’ve been covering up for so long. The fact that I didn’t drink this last year is a miracle to be honest."

JUDGE: ‘DADDY YANKEE CAN’T BE SUED IN MASSACHUSETTS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:08 pm

DADDY YANKEE has landed a small victory in a breach of contract lawsuit filed against him by a group of U.S. musicians - a Massachusetts judge has dismissed the case because the Latin rapper has no ties to the state.
Members of the Springfield Crew, a band from Springfield, Massachusetts, claim they were lured to the artist’s native Puerto Rico by a producer affiliated to Yankee to collaborate on writing and recording an album.
But they claim once they arrived, they were forced to live in a tiny room with no furniture and sleep on the floor for months as they worked on new material. They also alleged they were never compensated for their efforts and accused the Gasolina hitmaker of copyright infringement over his 2008 song Salgo Pa la Calle.
However, U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenneth P. Neiman has ruled in Yankee’s favour this week (begs24Jan11) after his attorneys proved he had no real association with Massachusetts, where the lawsuit was filed.
The reggaeton icon, real name Ramon Ayala, has only played one concert in the state, in Boston in 2009, and has previously received an honour from Harvard University in recognition of his charity work with at-risk youths - an award the judge ruled was "unrelated to his musical career".
Judge Neiman subsequently dismissed the claims for breach of contract, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, although he allowed the Springfield musicians to pursue their copyright complaint.

ROGEN BORED BY GREEN HORNET RADIO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:08 pm

Actor SETH ROGEN struggled to listen to GREEN HORNET radio clips from the 1930s as he prepared to star as the masked crimefighter on film - because the programmes were so slow and "outdated".
The funnyman thoroughly researched the vigilante’s past incarnations before writing his movie script, sitting down to watch the original 1960s TV series as he gathered his ideas together.
But he admits his patience was put to the test when listening to the Green Hornet radio show, which debuted in 1936.
He tells MovieHole.net, "We tried to listen to almost all the radio serials, but they’re a little outdated. I guess back then hearing footsteps for 30 seconds straight was really suspenseful and interesting. The creaking of the door opening was real cinema at that time! "It’s a little hard to sit through hours of it, at this point, for me. But I’m very stupid. But yeah, we went back to the radio show, the serials and then the TV show and we really tried to include ideas from all these things… and little just tips of the hat to previous incarnations of it."

The actress recently revealed she has been suffering from the condition, caused by bacteria from a tick, for over 15 years.
She was forced to take a career break in December (10) to seek medical attention for the advancing condition, with programme writers working Morgan’s absence into the storyline, sending her pregnant character Dr. Angela Baxter Hubbard away to San Francisco, California to visit her daughter.

A source tells the National Enquirer, "She is in good spirits and says she doesn’t anticipate any problems…
"Debbi didn’t want to leave the show because she has a contract with ABC and she’s a real trouper.
