Rapper DRAKE is considering pursuing a whole new musical direction and recording a reggae album.
The Fancy hitmaker has taken the hip-hop world by storm since signing to rap superstar Lil Wayne’s Young Money label in 2009, and he released his debut disc, Thank Me Later, last year (10).
He’s already started working on his sophomore album and plans to hit the studio with British acts Florence Welch, from Florence + The Machine, and rockers The xx.
But the star’s also set to head to the Caribbean to collaborate with an unidentified Jamaican producer - and he’s keen to turn the experience into a full-blown project.
Drake says, "I wanna do something for Jamaica, because we are supposed to go out there and record after the European tour.
"I was like, send me some rhythms that are poppin’ and I’ll see what I can do. He (producer) sent me some rhythms that are poppin’, so I’ll see what I can do. You never know." It won’t be Drake’s first time working with a Jamaican artist - he teamed up with dancehall star Mavado last year (10) for their track Find Your Love.

KATY PERRY is treating fans to a taste of what only husband RUSSELL BRAND normally gets to see in a revealing new photospread for Rolling Stone magazine.
The provocative pop star appears on the cover of the latest issue of the publication wearing just a blush two-piece lingerie set and a sultry look, while she dons only fishnet stockings for one sexy beach shot inside the magazine.
Perry tells Rolling Stone she had to work hard to get in shape for the saucy spread - and her upcoming world tour.
She explains, "I’m on a meal plan, which absolutely sucks. But, on Sundays, I get to have a cheat day where I go buck wild and eat In-N-Out Burger.
"I’ll work out, go to a vocal lesson, run through the entire set at rehearsals, go to dance rehearsal until 10pm and then go home and sort through e-mails concerning the production. I feel like I’m training for the Olympics!" The Firework singer also reveals she’s incorporating smell-o-vision into her 90-plus shows: "It’s the first concert that’s going to smell good. It’s going to smell like you’re in cotton candy heaven. It’s a fun little nuance." Perry is also planning 15 costume changes on each night of the gruelling tour, which begins in Portugal next month (Feb11).

JUSTIN BIEBER has made a Texas girl’s dream come true after inviting her to attend his concert in New York as part of a surprise on U.S. reality show EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION.
The Baby hitmaker made an unexpected cameo on a recent episode, which saw interior design experts head to Wellman, Texas to lend a hand to the Brown family.
The Browns lost their eldest daughter, Alex, in a tragic car accident when she died after texting and driving - a cause Bieber has been actively campaigning against.
The 16 year old decided to invite 12-year-old Katrina Brown and five of her friends to join him for a sound check party at his recent concert in New York.
And he had another gift in store for her parents - he announced he would be donating $1 (£0.66) from every ticket sold to his gigs to the family’s own charitable cause.
He says, "Every night we have a banner that goes up that says, ‘Don’t text and drive’, so every night all these kids see it so it means a lot to me.
"It has been a big part of my life to warn others not to text and drive." The episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will air in the U.S. on Sunday (30Jan11).

Rockers WILCO are quitting their longtime label to set up their own company.
The group, led by singer/songwriter Jeff Tweedy, has announced plans to depart Nonesuch Records and open dBpm Records, which will be marketed and distributed by Anti-Records.
The new label will be run by the band’s longtime manager Tony Margherita.
Wilco released four studio albums during their time at Nonesuch.

Rockers THE SCRIPT have been left touched by one fan’s remarkable love story after he wowed U.S. TV viewers on AMERICAN IDOL on Wednesday night (26Jan11).
Wannabe Chris Medina, 27, performed the band’s Breakeven at his audition for the show in Wisconsin, which was taped last year (Oct10) - and his back story broke hearts across America.
Medina has become a carer for his fiancee who was left severely brain damaged following a car crash just months before she was to wed the singer.
The hopeful brought his wheelchair-bound girlfriend, Juliana Ramos, to the audition and she got the chance to meet judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.
Footage of his romantic proposal to Juliana and his emotional story featured on the show and his passionate performance has already made Medina a clear favourite to win the latest Idol competition outright.
And The Script could not be prouder that he picked their song for the audition.
Guitarist Mark Sheehan took to Twitter.com after watching the show and wrote a note to Medina: "Not only R U a major talent but U R 1 in a billion. Never waver,This world needs more MEN like U. Peace+Love."

The adopted son of PINK FLOYD guitarist DAVID GILMOUR has been charged with two offences after he was caught on camera clambering all over a war memorial during London’s student riots in December (10).
Police spotted Charlie Gilmour swinging from a flag pole on the Cenotaph - one of the U.K.’s most important memorials - during a violent student protest against a rise in university tuition fees.
He apologised for his "moment of idiocy" but was arrested at his home in Sussex, England three days after the incident and questioned by police.
The 21 year old was subsequently freed on bail but on Thursday (27Jan11) Gilmour was charged with violent disorder and theft of a mannequin leg.
He will appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London for sentencing on 10 February (11).
Charlie was adopted by the Pink Floyd legend when the rocker married his mother Polly Samson in 1994.
His famous father revealed the 21 year old is "thoroughly ashamed of himself" days after the incident.
A statement from Sampson in the days following her son’s arrest, read, "We’re deeply ashamed of him and he’s deeply ashamed of himself… He’s already so ashamed he can barely speak. I am as ashamed of him as he is of himself." Charlie’s biological father is acclaimed playwright and actor Heathcote Williams.

Singer GUY SEBASTIAN has been arrested in Los Angeles following a mix-up with his car.
The 29 year old reported his vehicle stolen earlier this month (Jan11) but later discovered it had been towed away, and he subsequently reclaimed the motor.
However, when he got back behind the wheel, police swooped and arrested him on suspicion of stealing his own vehicle, according to Australia’s Herald Sun.
Recounting a conversation between Sebastian and TV presenter Kerri-Anne Kennerley, the insider reveals, "The car apparently turned up at a random impound so he went to pick it up himself. Not long after getting it back, 10 police jumped him, got him out of the car and arrested him at a car wash… guns drawn, cuffs, everything! "He was saying to them, ‘Look, this is my car and I have recently reported it stolen’. (However) they still took him to the cop shop. But he was released, of course, after he proved that it was his car." Sebastian’s management has confirmed the incident.

Tycoon-turned-reality TV star DONALD TRUMP is in talks to revive New York landmark Tavern-on-the-Green.
The struggling restaurant, which was once a hang-out for the Big Apple’s biggest celebrities, was forced to close a year ago (Jan10) and it has remained shuttered ever since.
But now Trump has big plans for the old Central Park tourist haunt - he wants to pump $20 million (£13.3 million) into the place and re-hire 500 workers who were laid off when the Tavern closed.
Trump has told the New York Post he’s hoping to re-open the Tavern and restore it to its former glory as "a gift for the city".
Officials have yet to sign off on the deal, but Trump is expected to be given the green light to revamp the site.

An aspiring actress who kissed ELVIS PRESLEY in LOVING YOU and then dropped out of Hollywood has been traced to a remote Connecticut abbey, where she has been a nun for almost 50 years, by a U.S. magazine.
Entertainment Weekly reporter Thom Geier launched a bid to track down Dolores Hart last year (10) - and found her at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, where she is now known as Mother Dolores.
After kissing Elvis in the 1957 film and making a name for herself opposite stars like Anthony Quinn and Montgomery Clift, the then 24-year-old actress decided Hollywood wasn’t for her and she checked into the abbey after attending the premiere of Come Fly With Me in 1963.
She tells the publication, "I had always wanted to be an actress, from the time I was seven years old. But I realised very concretely it was not the call." The 72-year-old Roman Catholic nun’s only links to Hollywood these days comes once a year when she votes for the Academy Awards after becoming an Academy member in 1960.

Action man JASON STATHAM has heaped praise on his THE MECHANIC co-star BEN FOSTER for overcoming his fear of heights to perform a skyscraper stunt in the film.
The 3:10 To Yuma star had to jump from 350 feet (106 meters) for a stunt in New Orleans, Louisiana, and his co-star admits he was impressed with Foster’s bravery.
The Brit says, "I don’t have a phobia against heights, but Ben Foster… has a phobia against heights and he put himself in the harness, hoisted himself up 350 feet and did the jump and he had to do about five or six different takes.
"You have to respect that because that’s no easy task."

The notorious GOTTIfamily has thrown its support behind plans for JOHN TRAVOLTA to play the crime boss in a new movie.
Gotti’s daughter Victoria has given the movie star her stamp of approval to play her dad in a planned biopic and Travolta reportedly met with the gangster’s son John Gotti, Jr. to seal the deal on the film earlier this week (ends28Jan11).
Victoria Gotti tells website TooFab.com, "If the role goes to Travolta, I strongly believe he will do a fantastic job.
"He has proved with past roles he is a gifted character actor. He thoroughly researches and prepares for each role - and it shows in his performances."

Eighties rocker ADAM ANT returned to the stage in a bid to save a landmark London venue on Wednesday night (26Jan11).
The Stand & Deliver hitmaker kicked off a two-night stand at the struggling 100 Club, which is threatened with closure over spiralling rent costs.
The concerts mark Adam Ant’s official return to the live stage after a 15-year hiatus.
Ant, real name Stuart Goddard, has hit the headlines in recent years for his bizarre behaviour - the rocker has battled mental illness and has twice been sectioned under Britain’s Mental Health Act.
But he insists he’s healthy and ready to rock: "You can throw a missile at me but you ain’t gonna stop it." The one-time ‘dandy highwayman’ took to the 100 Club stage dressed as a period sailor.

Rapper JUELZ SANTANA has blasted New Jersey police officials for "picking" on him after they raided his recording studio as part of a 10-month undercover investigation.
The hip-hop star’s Santana’s World base was busted by officers from the New Jersey Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Gang Unit last week (20Jan11), and his protege Hynief was arrested after a search of the building turned up two loaded 9mm handguns with additional boxes of ammunition. Cops also discovered a large stash of marijuana.
Santana was not present when the raid took place, but was forced to cancel a concert appearance in Chicago, Illinois last Friday (21Jan11) as a result of the incident.
Now the rap star has taken aim at the authorities for "always" targetting him and causing him to miss the concert.
Insisting he isn’t personally in trouble with cops, Santana rages, "It’s been some legal issue… Police ran up in my studio. I had to deal with that, for a couple days, just turning myself in. Doing a couple of things. I managed to miss the show in Chicago, but Chi-Town… I’m gonna make it up somehow, some way… I was definitely upset I didn’t even get to come there and do the d**n thing.
"They (police) always picking on me - that’s the best way I can put it. But, by the graces of God, everything should be OK. I wasn’t caught with anything in my possession." Hynief was subsequently freed after posting $50,000 (£33,330) bail.

Rocker NEIL YOUNG is to be honoured in his native Canada for his humanitarian efforts.
The singer/songwriter has been named the recipient of the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award at this year’s (11) Juno prizegiving.
The honour is given to prominent musicians who give time, money and energy to charitable causes.
Young was selected for the honour primarily because of his work in co-founding the Farm Aid concert series in 1985, and founding the Bridge School for kids with severe speech and physical impairments.
A five-Juno winner in the past, Young will collect his latest honour at the ceremony on 27 March (11).
Past recipients have included Bryan Adams and Sarah McLachlan.
