WILSON FUMBLED LINES WORKING WITH DE NIRO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

Actor OWEN WILSON found himself tongue-tied when he first worked alongside ROBERT DE NIRO on MEET THE PARENTS - he struggled to read his lines whenever he made eye contact with the Hollywood legend.
The funnyman admits he was thrown off by De Niro’s powerful presence and he will never forget how much of a fool he made of himself on the set of the 2000 comedy.
Wilson tells Access Hollywood, "I have a strong memory of the first time I was in the scene with De Niro. I’m taking (the family) to my house, and showing this like great big house I have and I turn to talk about the house…
"I see De Niro’s face. It was the whole cast, but I just kind of froze up when I saw De Niro, and Ben (Stiller) started laughing ‘cause he could see what was happening.
"None of my lines came out - it was just gibberish. I was like - I had to steel myself for the next takes and (tell myself), ‘You’ve gotta get it together or you’ll get fired!’" However, Wilson has since overcome his nerves to resume his role alongside Stiller and De Niro in the second sequel in the franchise, Little Fockers.

HOUSTON’S REP DENIES DAUGHTER INTERVENTION REPORT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

WHITNEY HOUSTON’s publicist has been forced to deny rumours the singer and her ex-husband BOBBY BROWN had to stage an intervention to put a stop to their 17-year-old daughter’s wild ways.
America’s National Enquirer alleged Bobbi Kristina had raised fears she would fall victim to the same addiction problems as her mum and dad after images of her partying hit the web.
The pictures reportedly prompted Houston to bring in a drug counsellor to speak to the teen about the dangers of booze and illegal substances.
But a representative for Houston, who has battled with crack cocaine and cannabis habits, insists the reports are complete nonsense.
The spokesperson tells E! Online, "There is no truth to the reports about Bobby and Whitney staging an intervention with their daughter." Houston only beat drugs after her own mother staged an armed intervention to get the superstar back into rehab for a more intense treatment programme.

UNIVERSAL EXECS CHALLENGE EMINEM ROYALTIES SUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:43 am

Universal Music bosses are taking a legal battle with EMINEM’s former publishing company to the U.S. Supreme Court after losing an appeal in a long-running dispute over royalties.
Last year (09), FBT Productions executives claimed Universal owed the Stan hitmaker $1.47 million (£980,000) in damages because label heads had failed to pay the star for music downloads.
The case was heard in a California court in March 2009, when a judge dismissed FBT’s argument and ruled in favour of Universal.
The publishing firm’s owners appealed the decision in September (10) and won after Central District of California court Judge Silverman reversed the previous ruling, declaring Universal bosses will have to pay FBT a substantial amount in compensation.
But Universal executives are refusing to let the matter lie and they have appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to reconsider the case again, reports CMU Daily.
Eminem is not directly involved in the legal battle.

JORDISON PLAYS WITH TWO BANDS ON ZOMBIE TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:10 pm

Heavy metal star JOEY JORDISON will be putting in double-time on his tour with ROB ZOMBIE - his band MURDERDOLLS are the support act for the shows.
The Slipknot rocker agreed to help his pal out on the road when the former White Zombie frontman’s drummer quit on the eve of a tour.
And he’s told Zombie he’s more than happy to wield the sticks on a tour with Alice Cooper next year (11) - even though he’ll also be playing guitar for Murderdolls as the warm-up band.
Zombie tells Metal Hammer magazine, "Our drummer told us he was quitting right before the tour, that’s true. I was like, ‘Hey, thanks!’. He’s been with us for five years and then he quits with no warning. We called up Joey and asked if he knew anyone and he was like, ‘I’ll do it!’.
"It was sort of a downtime for his band and he’s been with us ever since. Then the Murderdolls album came out and I thought well, he’s going to do that and he’s like, ‘No, I’ll do that too,’ so we’ll see if he likes doing two shows a night. On paper a great idea, but let’s see how it translates after a few weeks of shows."

Rockers AVENGED SEVENFOLD showed their support for U.S. troops in Iraq with a series of top secret gigs at military bases in the warzone last month (Nov10).
The band teamed up with United Service Organizations to arrange three shows at barracks in Baghdad, and frontman Matt Shadows has branded the morale-boosting trip the "best experience" of his life.
He tells Kerrang! magazine, "Iraq, it was unbelievable. The troops are out in the middle of this s**thole and they were so grateful and so excited to have us there. They’re on these bases living in tents and getting mortars shot at them every night, and then they’re like, ‘Avenged Sevenfold’s here playing a show for us!’.
"It’s one of those things where if it makes them excited for one night at least and gives them something they can talk about as friends and brothers and sisters out there, then we’ve totally done our job. It was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life."

MINNILLO DISMISSES RUMOURS OF ITALIAN NEW YEAR WEDDING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

NICK LACHEY’s fiancee VANESSA MINNILLO has laughed off rumours they are planning to escape to Italy to wed over the New Year (11), insisting the singer was "joking" when he mentioned eloping to Tuscany.
The couple became engaged in November (10) and Lachey sparked speculation he was rushing down the aisle by commenting on the possibility of tying the knot while on vacation in Europe over the holiday season.
But Minnillo has dismissed the claims, because they have yet to even discuss wedding dates.
She tells Hollyscoop.com, "He was joking. We’re not getting married in Italy.
"I feel irresponsible for not having a date, but someone made a great point: When you’re dating, everyone is always asking when you’re getting engaged. When you’re engaged, everyone is always asking when you’re getting married. When you get married they start asking when you’re going to get pregnant.
"Instead of keeping up with the Jones’, we’re just enjoying it."

HEDLUND AUDITIONED FOR COUNTRY STRONG IN KARAOKE BAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

GARRETT HEDLUND auditioned for his role in new musical movie COUNTRY STRONG by showing off his singing skills in a karaoke bar in front of the film’s director.
The actor plays a country music performer alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the film, and writer/director Shana Feste decided on an unusual method of testing out her leading man’s vocal abilities.
Feste took Hedlund to the Brass Monkey bar in Los Angeles, where they had a few drinks before she encouraged him to take the stage.
She tells the Hollywood Reporter, "Garrett auditioned in a karaoke bar. It was not very conventional. But I had never heard him sing and he was really nervous and singing for the first time.
"We wanted to make it really fun… We had a few drinks and he got up there and started singing and was definitely not the sound that he is at now, which is amazing, because he literally went from singing a Pearl Jam song to singing country like the best of them."
