Cardle’s When We Collide debuts atop the holiday countdown, fighting off competition from Rihanna’s What’s My Name at two, and The Trashmen’s Surfin’ Bird entering at three.
Meanwhile, Michael Jackson’s first posthumous release, Michael, is the only new entry on the U.K. albums chart top 40, scrapping in at four.
Boyband Take That make Progress with another week at number one, while Rihanna’s Loud climbs up two places to finish in second place.
Michael Buble is at three with Crazy Love and another reality TV star, Olly Murs, rounds out the top five with his self-titled disc at five.

DURAN DURAN star NICK RHODES has a renewed confidence in the future of the flamboyant Eighties pop band, insisting superproducer MARK RONSON has breathed new life into their music to last for at least another decade.
The Rio hitmakers teamed up with Ronson after their last album, Red Carpet Massacre, failed to set the charts alight in 2007.
Rhodes admits he was ready to step away from the spotlight before they completed their new record, All You Need Is Now, because he couldn’t see himself performing the same old sounds over and over again for years to come.
But the keyboardist has now had a change of heart and he’s sure they’ll follow in the Rolling Stones’ footsteps and keep on rocking into old age.
He tells the New York Post, "If you asked me in 2000 if we’d be performing 10 years later, I’d have said no. But on the strength of the new album I think we’ll still be at it in another 10.
"I mean, the Stones have set the bar and they still look pretty good as a unit."

LADY GAGA was left "devastated" on Sunday (19Dec10) when she was forced to cancel a concert in Paris after her staff and stage equipment were "detained" by French officials following a severe snow storm.
The Poker Face hitmaker was due to perform at Paris Bercy but her show was thrown into doubt after crewmembers found themselves delayed due to a heavy blizzard.
The singer claims two employees were "arrested" after an encounter with authorities as they attempted to find a way around the obstacle to make it to the gig venue in time for the concert.
Taking to her Twitter.com, Gaga writes, "All 28 of my trucks for the Monsterball (tour) were detained by the French government going on over 26 hrs, 2 of my employees were arrested trying to get into Paris so we could perform.
"I am furious and devastated, its unfair to my fans and to me." Gaga even attempted to persuade promoters to press on with the show and offered to perform a fully acoustic set to avoid disappointing fans.
She adds, "I asked if I could do a stripped version of show, but there would be no sound or power source, its all been detained. I’m so sorry, angry+sad." Gaga then posted a picture of the stormy weather conditions and apologised again to ticket holders: "I love Paris + I love my French fans. I’m sorry little monsters. A photo of storm, I’m stuck on bus." The heavy snowfall has caused havoc for travellers across northern Europe, with flights grounded across the continent.
And Gaga isn’t the only celebrity stranded in the snow - singer/actress Taylor Momsen is stuck in Cologne, Germany as she fights to find a way back to the U.S. for the holidays.

Rap mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS’ former protege G-DEP is facing life in prison after confessing to a 17-year-old murder.
The hip-hop star, real name Trevell Coleman, turned himself in to police in New York on Wednesday (15Dec10) to admit to the shooting of John Henkel on 19 October, 1993.
Coleman, who was previously signed to Combs’ Bad Boy Records, allegedly had no idea Henkel had not survived the incident and he’s now been charged with murder.
He tells the New York Post, "I was surprised - for some reason, I really didn’t think he died. When they (police) told me, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m not going home after this.’" Coleman, who previously battled drug addiction, claims he was driven to come clean about the altercation because he couldn’t live with his guilt.
He says, "I started to wonder if all the bad things that happened to me in my life were karma for what I did… you start to think, ‘My happiness is because of someone else’s sadness.’ "I thought that if I turned myself in, it might give me closure… I’m just trying to get right with God." The jailed rapper admits his family, friends and fellow inmates are struggling to understand why he would confess to such an old crime, but Coleman insists he only has one regret about surrendering to cops - leaving his three kids behind with his longtime girlfriend Lyvonnia Copeland.
Coleman began making a name for himself as part of Diddy’s Bad Boy roster in the late 1990s and early 2000s, scoring hits with Let’s Get It and Special Delivery.

Actor PAUL RUDD and his father have started their own chain of Irish pubs - building the drinking establishments in their own basements.
The I Love You, Man star reveals his dad had the initial idea of transforming part of his home into a bar to honour the actor’s son Jack Sullivan.
He says, "I have a pub in my house upstate in New York. I built a pub in my home. My father did the same thing.
"When my son was born we named him Jack Sullivan Rudd and my father said, ‘I’m gonna build my grandson his own Irish pub.’ So he converted the basement of his house and turned it into an Irish pub called Sullivan’s. And about a year later, when he finished, I went to see it and he had Guinness on draught and everything, it’s brilliant.
"It doesn’t look like you built a pub in a house, it looks like someone built a house over a pub!" And Rudd was so impressed by his dad’s handiwork, he was inspired to follow his lead.
He adds, "A few years ago, I bought a house upstate (in New York) and built Sullivan’s East. It’s amazing, it’s got tin ceilings, a 30-foot bar, Guinness on draught. Shuffleboards, historical artifacts and stuff."

Funnyman JASON SEGEL couldn’t wait to get out of town after filming wrapped on the New Orleans, Louisiana set of his new comedy drama JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME - because he packed on more than 20 pounds (nine kilograms) during the four months of shooting.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star reveals the movie is set over the course of one day, but they spent months shooting on location and he couldn’t help but indulge in all of the famous fried and fatty Southern foods.
But the finishing result meant Segel’s waistline expanded with each take - and his weight gain was captured on camera.
He says, "It was my first sort of drama, it was pretty awesome. There’s comedy and drama.
"I loved New Orleans, however, it’s not a very healthy city. Everything’s cooked in butter, everything’s fried, there’s a lot of alcohol around. But the problem was the movie is placed over one day but we shot over four months and we shot it in order, so slowly you see my character gain like 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms) over one day! I gained like 23, 24 pounds (10.4, 10.8 kilograms).
"So (in the movie) I wake up in the morning, a fresh, just-arrived-in-New Orleans Jason Segel, and then the last scene of the movie, I’d been here four months, to a someone-get-me-out-of-here-quick Jason Segel! It was really bad."

Sci-fi epic TRON: LEGACY has powered its way to the top of the box office grid, scoring $43.6 million (£29 million) in its opening weekend in the U.S.
Jeff Bridges returns to his role as video game hacker Kevin Flynn in the new Disney 3D movie, reprising his character from the original Tron in 1982.
Family adventure Yogi Bear, starring Anna Faris and featuring the voices of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake, cowered behind Tron: Legacy in second place, debuting with $16.7 million (£11.13 million), while The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader slips to three with $12.4 million (£8.27 million).
Hotly-tipped Oscar favourites The Fighter and Black Swan continued to draw in the crowds with strong takings of $12.2 million (£8.13 million) and $8.3 million (£5.53 million), respectively, placing the films in fourth and seventh in the top 10.
Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson’s new romantic comedy failed to woo movie-goers this weekend (17-19Dec10) - it scrapped in at number eight with a gross of $7.5 million (£5 million).

Sixties supermodel EVELYN KUHN is taking legal action against the bosses of a stock photo agency after an old image of her was used to promote a Belgian beer.
The leggy blonde was featured in a Stella Artois advertisement in March (10), in which she was seen gazing into the camera from across the table, dressed in a gold dress and holding a red glass.
The picture was one of a series of snaps taken in 1963 for Polydor Records and was distributed for use in the Stella Artois ad by Corbis Images.
But Kuhn is not happy with its inclusion in the beer promotion and she has filed a $7 million (£4.67 million) lawsuit against Corbis Images in a Manhattan federal court in New York, according to the New York Post.
However, a representative for the photo firm has dismissed Kuhn’s legal threat, dismissing the case as "without merit".

PAMELA ANDERSON is urging anyone who suspects they have hepatitis to get tested - because there is no reason to "feel embarrassed" about the condition.
The former Baywatch star was diagnosed with a strain of the liver disorder back in 2001 after contracting it through a shared tattoo needle.
Anderson controls the condition with medical help, and she wants to raise awareness to make sure other hepatitis victims don’t suffer in silence.
She tells Britain’s The People, "I’ve had liver biopsies. I get checked every single year, my doctor told me just keep doing what you’re doing. I also have the kind that’s easiest to control. There is no cure for it, so the important thing is to encourage people to get tested and not be ashamed. People get embarrassed as you get it from blood-to-blood contact, but it’s not just junkies who have it."

The Boyzone singer is preparing to start work on another solo album in the New Year (11) before heading out on tour with the band.

Comedian JASON SEGEL was so thrilled to meet Kermit the Frog during a script read through for his upcoming MUPPETS movie, he wept tears of joy.
The funnyman is bringing the family-friendly franchise created by Jim Henson back to life in the 2011 project, the first since 1999’s Muppets From Space.
But he admits he couldn’t control his excitement when he met Kermit and had to halt the reading to compose himself.
He says, "I’ve been writing this for three years now, and when we did our first table reading they brought the actual puppets, and they brought out Kermit and they had to stop because I started crying hysterically. It was so beautiful! All he said was, ‘Hi ho!’ I just turned around and he goes, ‘Hi ho!’ and I looked at him and was like, ‘We gotta stop!’ I was freaking out." Jack Black, Amy Adams, Zach Galifianakis, Emily Blunt and Ricky Gervais will all make appearances in the film, which is due for release next November (11).

Actress VIVICA A. FOX is preparing to become a mother in 2011 after declaring her toyboy lover "The One" and expressing her desire to start a family with him.
The Kill Bill star began dating a 26-year-old man known only as Slimm at the start of 2010 and they briefly split in August (10) before reuniting again.
Now the 46 year old reveals the couple is planning on trying for a baby as soon as her stint in touring play Cheaper to Keep Her wraps early next year (11).
Asked whether Slimm is "The One" for marriage and babies, Fox says, "Yes, absolutely. My career has been my baby for such a long time and I waited for God to send me a good man.

Comedian JERRY SEINFELD has apologised to fans in the U.K. for the high cost of tickets for his first stand-up show in the country in 13 years, insisting he would be complaining to promoters about the $155 (£103) price tag.
The Seinfeld star will perform for one night only at London’s O2 Arena on 3 June (11) and entrance to the gig ranges from $108 to $155 (£72 to £103).
The funnyman admits he trusted the event organisers to set prices at a reasonable rate and was not happy when he discovered how much devotees would have to spend to see him live.
He tells Britain’s Guardian newspaper, "I’m terribly, terribly sorry. I really had to let the English promoter guide us in that, because I don’t know that market that well. So I’m going to complain to him." But Seinfeld will be even more shocked to hear that scalpers snapped up tickets to his show and are reselling them online for hundreds more than face value.
Some of the stubs are being touted for as much as $500 (£330) each.
