MUSE have been blasted by officials after ignoring a smoking ban by puffing cigarettes onstage at a concert in Melbourne, Australia.
The British rockers were performing at the Ron Laver Arena in the city earlier this month (Dec10) but infuriated organisers by reportedly flouting anti-smoking legislation throughout the show, despite receiving orders to not light up.
Now Muse have been slammed by officials, who were "disappointed" the group ignored their pleas.
Jo Juler, a representative for the venue, tells Melbourne’s Herald Sun, "Officials spoke to the band before and after the show and we were extremely disappointed when they decided to flaunt our strict no-smoking policy.
"They are known as an anti-establishment style of performance group, but it was still sad that they decided to go ahead regardless."

BOB MARLEY’s son ROHAN is reportedly set to take legal action after alleging he was sprayed with Mace and put in a headlock by a cop in Los Angeles following a scuffle outside a nightclub.
Marley, longtime partner of singer Lauryn Hill, had a heated argument with a passer-by outside the Voyeur bar in West Hollywood on Saturday night (18Dec10) after mistaking the man for a valet.
An off-duty police officer intervened - and Marley claims he was tear-gassed and put in a headlock, according to TMZ.com.
He tells the website the officer "went overboard" and he’s considering pressing charges, adding: "(I) just can’t let this go."

A leading celebrity snapper is selling off some of his most famous shots to raise cash for charity.
Jason Fraser has spent almost 30 years photographing the rich and famous - many relaxing during time away from the spotlight - and has captured iconic images of Marlon Brando, Paul and Linda McCartney, David Bowie, Britney Spears, and George Michael.
He also famously took a picture of Venezuelan terrorist Carlos the Jackal in Khartoum, Sudan in 1994 after the fugitive had been on the run for 20 years.
More than 15 of Fraser’s photos are on sale via a London gallery for up to $4,125 (£2,750) apiece. All proceeds will go to Lupus UK to fund research into the autoimmune disease.

SIMON COWELL shocked his THE X FACTOR co-stars CHERYL COLE, DANNII MINOGUE and LOUIS WALSH by giving them $4,500 (£3,000) worth of Botox each as a Christmas present.
The music mogul handed his fellow judges an envelope each at the final of the British show last week (12Dec10) - and Walsh was stunned when he opened the package to reveal Cowell had paid for him to have the face-freezing injections.
Walsh tells Sharon Osbourne on U.K. TV show Lorraine, "Right before going on stage, Sharon, on the final he says, ‘I’ve got a present for you three’, and he gives us envelopes… I got home and opened (it) - it’s £3000 worth of Botox… he gave it to me. I think he gave it to the wrong judge!" When Osbourne asked Walsh, "Are you winding me up?", he replied: "No I’m serious… for all three of us… I’d never use it."

CHARLIE’S ANGELS star KATE JACKSON has settled a $3 million (£2 million) lawsuit with her late pal FARRAH FAWCETT’s former business manager, after accusing the aide of leaving her in "financial ruin".
The actress claimed Richard B. Francis used her "extremely close relationship" with Fawcett to land her as a client, but let her down on a series of key issues.
Jackson alleged Francis made incorrect estimates about the size of her fortune, claiming she was worth $5.4 million (£3.6 million) when the actual figure was closer to $3 million (£2 million) and also claimed he urged her to buy an over-priced house in California which she couldn’t afford.
In papers filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this year (10), Jackson alleged she "suffered financial ruin at the hands of the very person she entrusted with her finances".
Now Jackson and Francis have reached an undisclosed settlement, reports TMZ.com. Lawyers for both parties tell the website they are "satisfied with the settlement agreement".

VICTORIA BECKHAM broke down as her husband DAVID was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year ceremony in London on Sunday night (19Dec10).
The soccer superstar received the special accolade for his continued success in the world of soccer and became emotional as he made his way to the stage to a rousing two-minute long standing ovation from his peers.
His former Spice Girl wife was seen crying with pride as a teary-eyed Beckham looked on in awe at the reaction to his win.
And after the crowd finally stopped clapping, the sports hero thanked his wife and three sons for being there for him everyday.
In his speech, he said, "I’ve been lucky enough to play with some of the great teams over the years. Playing for England has been one of the highlights and biggest things of my career.
"I’m sorry that I’m going on, but I really have to thank my parents, who have sacrificed so much over the years, my sisters, my grandparents, my family, my friends, other people who work with me and for me, and of course, I want to thank my wife and my children.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is adamant fans of his music are upset with him turning his attentions to acting - insisting his followers view him as "ungrateful" for his pop achievements.

GWYNETH PALTROW’s kids had no idea she’s in the movies - until her daughter APPLE found out from school classmates.
The Shakespeare In Love star and her husband, Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, are intensely private and have kept the superstar status of their jobs hidden from their young kids - six-year-old Apple and four-year-old son Moses.
But Paltrow had to face questions about her fame when Apple started school and was told by her peers that her mum appears in magazines. The actress threw Apple off the scent by pretending she’s a singer after playing the guitar for her new movie Country Strong.
She tells Britain’s The Sun, "My kids have never seen me in anything. They don’t know what I do - or rather, Apple does now because people in her class know and they say, ‘Oh, I saw you in a magazine.’ "And you’re like, ‘Oh God. I’ll have to deal with all these questions that will inevitably be coming,’ but I try to separate it.
"I mean, they know I work but they think I do singing, which is hilarious. They probably saw me for a year practising my guitar and singing and they think that’s my job.
"I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ They know I’m in movies and stuff, but I don’t think they really fully get it and I don’t show them or really get into it.
"But when I go away of course I have to explain what I’m going to do, and they’re still really young."

British band BLUR is heading back to the studio in early 2011 for the group’s first album as a quartet in more than a decade, according to U.K. reports.
The Parklife hitmakers returned to the music scene after a six-year hiatus to headline a series of U.K. festivals last year (09).
Frontman Damon Albarn, who has been touring with his other band Gorillaz, revealed earlier this year (10) that the group was planning to work together again next year (11).
And according to Britain’s The Sun, the rockers are preparing to record a new album - their first complete work since 1999’s 13.
A source tells the publication, "The lads will be getting in the studio early next year. There’s no concrete plans regarding what they will do with the material, but if they’re all agreed it could become the first full Blur album to feature all four members in over a decade.
"When they went into the studio earlier this year everyone was really pleased to discover that the old magic was still there. They would have liked to have done more, but Damon could not take part due to his commitments with Gorillaz.
"Now that he’s finished touring with the band he has more time on his hands."

LIL KIM has taken aim at her rap rival NICKI MINAJ once again, warning her that fans will see her real side "pretty soon".
Lil Kim left the newcomer devastated when she accused her of copying her style, with Minaj reaching out to the Lady Marmalade hitmaker and urging her to call a truce.
However, the rapper refused to back down and blasted Minaj on a track entitled Black Friday - a play on Minaj’s album title Pink Friday - alleging she slept with mentor Lil Wayne to land a record deal.
Minaj refused to be drawn into another public argument and denied derogatory remarks she makes on her song Roman’s Revenge were aimed at Lil Kim.
But the older hip-hop star refuses to believe her - and insists Minaj is playing a clever game to garner fans’ sympathy.
She says, "The girl is not as stupid as people think she is. She knew what she was doing, that’s to make people feel sorry for her.
"Everything that’s in the dark about her life is going to reveal itself pretty soon. It’s going to happen.
"We could make money together, we could be in this game, but she just wanted to be out there by herself."

Rapper CHARLES HAMILTON is in trouble with the law again - he has been arrested over allegations he attacked a police officer.
The troubled rising hip-hop star hit the headlines in July (10) after he checked into a mental institution in New York in a bid to try to deal with the stress of working in the music industry. He was subsequently released after a week following treatment in the hospital’s psychiatric unit.
But Hamilton was arrested last week (13Dec10) after he reportedly caused trouble at a series of bars in Cleveland, Ohio. He allegedly struck an officer who was investigating, resulting in an assault charge, according to AllHipHop.com.
The rapper’s bail has been set at $25,000 (£16,666), reports the website.

AMY ADAMS is in no rush to shed her baby weight - because she never relied on her "rockin’ bod" to land work before she fell pregnant.
The Doubt actress announced her pregnancy last year (09) and welcomed little Aviana into the world with fiance Darren Le Gallo in May (10).
But despite seven months passing, Adams is taking losing her pregnancy weight slowly, because carrying a child helped her appreciate her body.
And the star is adamant a few extra curves and bulges will never hamper her serious acting career.
She tells Parade, "Being pregnant finally helped me understand what my true relationship was with my body - meaning that it wasn’t put on this earth to look good in a swimsuit.
"I was like, ‘Look, I can carry a baby! I’m gaining weight right, everything is going well.’ And I’ve had that relationship ever since.
"I’ve been working out when I can… but losing weight is not my number one priority. It’s part of my job to return to some semblance of what I was before. But I don’t feel I’ve ever made my career on my rockin’ bod."

French horror moviemaker JEAN ROLLIN has died. He was 72.
The master of European B-movie thrillers died last week (beg13Dec10) in Paris, France following a battle with cancer.
He started his directing career in the 1970s and helmed a series of low-budget erotic vampire films, provoking outrage in conservative France with his sleaze-led horror projects.
He went on to attract a cult following in the U.S. with B-movies including Requiem for a Vampire, Grapes of Death and The Living Dead Girl.
Rollin is survived by his wife Simone, a son and a granddaughter.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK continues to thrill America’s movie experts - it was named Best Picture by the Houston Film Critics Society on Saturday (18Dec10).
David Fincher’s movie, about the invention of Facebook.com, has already garnered favour from critics’ groups in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Indiana. The movie also landed six Golden Globe nominations when the contenders were announced last week (14Dec10).
And it went on to take home the biggest prize at the Houston Film Critics Society in Texas over the weekend, as well as trophies for Jesse Eisenberg for Best Actor, Best Director for Fincher and Best Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin.
Natalie Portman continued her dominance of the critic-led awards by picking up the Best Actress honour for thriller Black Swan, while Christian Bale’s turn in the The Fighter won him Best Supporting Actor.
Toy Story 3 continued to win big and picked up the Best Animated movie, while The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was named Best Foreign film.

Soul superstar PRINCE partied with celebrity fans ALICIA KEYS, WHOOPI GOLDBERG and NAOMI CAMPBELL onstage on Saturday (18Dec10) as he performed the first of three shows at New York’s fabled Madison Square Garden.
The music icon invited a host of famous faces, including singer/actor Jamie Foxx and director Spike Lee, up to the platform to dance with him and Sheila E as they performed A Love Bizarre as part of his Welcome 2 America shows.
During his set, Prince took fans back in time with renditions of classic hits like Cream, Kiss, Shhh, Purple Rain and 1999, earning him a standing ovation from the sold-out crowd, prompting him to quip, "This is my house now", as he left the stage.
Prince is scheduled to play another show at Madison Square Garden later this month (Dec10), before returning one more time in January (11).

Actress AMY ADAMS was forced to shed her insecurities for her role in new movie THE FIGHTER after director DAVID O. RUSSELL banned her from hitting the gym before donning lingerie to film love scenes with MARK WAHLBERG.
The Oscar nominee admits she was self-conscious about how she would look on camera in sexy underwear and wanted to tone up before she had to shed her clothes.
But filmmaker Russell stopped her from doing so - because he wanted to ensure her portrayal of Charlene, a working-class barmaid, was as realistic as possible.

Pop superstar MADONNA is itching to get back into the studio to begin work on her next album, revealing she is "on the look out" for hot new collaborators to work with.
The Material Girl hitmaker released her last project, Hard Candy, in 2008 and has spent her time since working on her second directorial venture, upcoming drama W.E., as well as launching her first Hard Candy Fitness centre in Mexico earlier this month (Dec10).
But Madonna admits she is craving the creative process that goes into making new music.
