R&B singer KERI HILSON is urging hip-hop star LAURYN HILL to reach out for help with her comeback record - because she is convinced their "candour" would make for an "awesome collaboration".
The Knock You Down hitmaker has been a big fan of the former Fugees star for years and is delighted to see Hill making plans for a full return to the spotlight following the announcement of a series of concerts over the New Year (11).
And Hilson, who has written songs for artists like Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige, admits it would be a dream come true to work with the Everything Is Everything icon - and she’s sure it would be a guaranteed hit.
She tells WENN, "Lauryn Hill is someone who is very candid with her music… I have no intent to create some character for the sake of entertainment, I mean, I respect those who do, there are different avenues for entertainment but I loved her candidness, her candor, she’s just up there. She exposes all sides of herself, her vulnerabilities, insecurities but you also see the strength and her innocence.
"Even her business savvy she talks about in her records, I just appreciate seeing a woman in true form and that’s what I try to do with my music as well, so I figure it would be an awesome collaboration." Hill has not released a studio album since 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, although a new tune, titled Repercussions, leaked online in July (10), sparking fans’ hopes a new project is in the works.

A new musical collaboration between rockers EDDIE VEDDER and MICHAEL STIPE has leaked online It Happened Today, which features on R.E.M.’s new album, leaked on Monday night (20Dec10).
Pearl Jam star Vedder has long been associated with Stipe and R.E.M. - he often appears onstage at concerts and he inducted the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
R.E.M.’s Collapse Into Now is set for release in March (11).
Neither Vedder, Stipe nor R.E.M. have commented about the Internet leak.

Armenian-Americans SYSTEM OF A DOWN are to reunite for a series of shows in Europe next year (11).
The acclaimed quartet announced an indefinite hiatus in 2006 and haven’t worked together as a band since.
But, in a post online, the group reveals it has booked 10 European shows in 2011.
The statement on the band’s website reads, "We have no master plan. We are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again." Bassist Shavo Odadjian recently told Hustler magazine the bandmates agreed to an indefinite hiatus to stave off a permanent split after success started to get the better of them.
He said, "We won a Grammy and we had two number one records. We were making a lot of loot (money). Then some people within the group of four brothers started seeing things differently… and their actions made the reactions of others pretty unbrotherly-like.
"Ten years ago these four motherf**kers were getting paid nothing while travelling in a 10-seat RV for seven months, following Slayer around.
"Flash forward: We are now in a situation where we are making so much money a show that I can’t even say. We’re being flown around, catered to and being treated like royalty.
"All of a sudden band members are having problems financially… (and) fighting about, ‘I want my style of music to be this and that.’"

Actor WILLIAM FORSYTHE was haunted by John Wayne Gacy while portraying the serial killer for a hard-hitting new movie - his sleep was interrupted by weird dreams and he couldn’t shake the character after filming wrapped.
The Rock star thought it would be a challenge to play Gacy in Dear Mr. Gacy - the movie based on the book The Last Victim by criminology student Jason Moss, who corresponded with the sick killer while he was on death row - but he had no idea just how much the research would play with his mind.
Forsythe tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "I began to have crazy dreams and very realistic. The dreams that I was having were basically (from) Gacy’s perspective… It was a lot of dreams, where I would be driving along in a car and looking out the window and I was seeing faces of boys standing on corners talking and just seeing them from his perspective.
"It’s chilling because these dreams were exactly what John Wayne Gacy would do. I put together a slide show of the photographs of his victims and I couldn’t get through that slide show without emotionally breaking down. It was so disturbing to see the faces of these young innocent boys that he lured in under the guise of being a nice guy." Forsythe also struggled to get Gacy out of his life after the movie - because so many people wanted to talk to him about the portrayal.
He adds, "I was conscious of how disturbing the journey would be. This was a journey from hell for me and I’ll never look back and have anything to do with John Wayne Gacy again because it’s over for me. I literally just turned on the Beach Boys and went back to being a blond. I tried to surf my way out of it in a way and go to a whole other place.
"I almost feel bad about it because the doors that I opened up in Chicago research-wise, I had to stop talking to those people for at least this past year because I just didn’t want to talk about John Wayne Gacy. These are good people in their own right, particularly his best friend Barry (Boschelli), who was a victim of John… He was the nicest guy and I owe him so much for the understanding of who Gacy was but I found I couldn’t return his phone calls after awhile. I’m going to call him again but I had to get away from Gacy."

Actor TOM ARNOLD recently stepped into the boxing ring after his rabbi challenged him to a fight.
The True Lies star thought it would be fun to step into the gym, shed a few pounds and toughen up - but he admits he wasn’t looking forward to getting into the ring with his spiritual adviser for the charity scuffle, dubbed the Rumble in the Temple.
He says, "It’s a lose lose… You either lose to your rabbi or you beat up your rabbi." The Jewish punch-up raised cash for a rehab centre, and Arnold was surprised so many people wanted to see someone smack him in the face.
Arnold was trained by best pal Dax Shepard for the fight, while his rabbi asked top boxing guru Freddie Roach to help him prepare for the clash - and that scared the star into training hard.
The actor adds, "I thought maybe he gave the rabbi some kind of secret thing and they were going to lay it on me, so I didn’t want to take any chances."

Late GOLDEN GIRLS star BEA ARTHUR took a secret to the grave - she reportedly contracted a venereal disease while she was serving in the Marine Corps.
Friends insist the actress never talked about her military service for fear someone would dig deeper and uncover her most embarrassing details.
But newly-released government documents, obtained by America’s Globe tabloid, expose the truth.
Arthur received a single misconduct report while she was stationed at Cherry Point in North Carolina in the mid-1940s and charged with "incapacitation for duty".
The actress, who passed away in 2009, was honourably discharged in 1945 and spent the rest of her life flatly denying she had served in the military, fearing that the secret would ruin her career.
Arthur was married to another Marine, Arthur Robert at the time.

Reality TV star HEIDI MONTAG is showing off her plastic surgery scars to U.S. publication Life & Style after confessing the massive makeover that drastically changed her look has ruined her life.
The Hills star famously underwent 10 procedures in a day and now deeply regrets the decision - because her scars are still visible, she’s in pain and she’s tired of being hailed "the plastic girl".
Montag tells the publication, "The big dark mark from my chin reduction is probably the most noticeable (scar). But the absolute worst is on my breasts, and the scariest is below my butt cheek. People have fewer scars from car accidents than I have on my body.
"Surgery ruined my career and my personal life and just brought a lot of negativity into my world. I wish I could jump into a time machine and take it all back. Instead, I’m always going to feel like Edward Scissorhands."

50 CENT has been given a pre-Christmas scare - his $5 million (£3.3 million) Connecticut mansion has been targeted by burglars.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com they received a call from security guards at the Farmington residence about a suspicious car in the driveway at approximately 6am on Tuesday morning (21Dec10).
Police arrived on the scene and discovered two men inside the property. They are suspected to have entered through an unlocked door.
Both men were arrested and are being held on $50,000 (£33,330) bond.
50 bought the estate, previously owned by Mike Tyson, back in 2003. It was not clear at press time if he was at home at the time of the incident.

PARIS HILTON suffered an airport security scare on Tuesday (21Dec10) when she was ordered to evacuate a plane after a knife was found onboard.
The hotel heiress and her boyfriend Cy Waits were due to take off from Los Angeles’ LAX airport for Maui, Hawaii but their travel plans were brought to a halt after a passenger found a "box-cutting knife" in a seat pocket.
Hilton tells TMZ.com all passengers were ordered to disembark the plane after the discovery was brought to the attention of a flight attendant, who then called security.
Officials subsequently determined the knife belonged to the airline crew.
Hilton and her fellow passengers had been allowed to re-board as WENN went to press.

Christmas has come early for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star TERI HATCHER - she has reportedly landed her own U.S. TV comedy.
Hatcher was recently given the green light for a new pilot series scheduled to broadcast in America next autumn (11).
The show, said to be developed as the Untitled Teri Hatcher Pilot, will be produced by Housewives creator Marc Cherry.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Teri’s absolutely thrilled. She got the good news on the final day of shooting Housewives before the holiday hiatus.
"It’s going to be a dark comedy in the Housewives tradition."

R&B star KELIS has been slapped with a lawsuit from the bosses of a talent agency amid allegations she failed to pay for services used earlier this year (10).
The Milkshake singer and her management hired staff at Drive Talent Inc. to provide "goods and services" for a variety of performances on U.S. TV shows, including appearances on Today, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
But the two parties fell out when Kelis reportedly missed a bill for $11,817.91 (£7,878.61), according to legal papers filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York last week (17Dec10).
The outstanding fees are said to stem from work completed between March and July (10), reports AllHipHop.com.

Rapper LIL WAYNE has reached a settlement in his long-running legal dispute over royalties with producer JIM JONSIN.
The beatmaker filed a $500,000 (£333,300) suit against Wayne in April (10), claiming he had yet to receive any payments for his work on the Grammy-winning single Lollipop - a track they co-wrote.
But Wayne, who was released from prison in November (10) after serving time for gun charges, has since negotiated a deal with Jonsin to put the financial mess behind them.
Jonsin says, "We worked out an arrangement. They’re giving me some money now, and will pay the balance in the first or second quarter next year.
"I never had an issue with Wayne, he and I were cool."

SHANIA TWAIN has opened up about finding new love following the breakdown of her marriage in a candid online letter - thanking family, friends and fans as she celebrates her engagement.

Comedian GEORGE LOPEZ is turning politician - the funnyman plans to run for Mayor of Los Angeles in 2017.
The Valentine’s Day star and TV host appeared on America’s Good Day L.A. television programme on Tuesday morning (21Dec10), announcing his future plans to take a break from comedy to join the mayoral race.
He said: "I do intend to run for Mayor of Los Angeles. Seriously, in eight years. I wanna be Mayor of Los Angeles." And he’s taking cues from fellow actor-turned-politician, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he makes the transition to politics.
Lopez added: "If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor, why can’t George Lopez by the mayor of Los Angeles?"

Funnyman JACK BLACK has something to celebrate ahead of the New Year (11) - he’s kicked his nicotine addiction after struggling with the habit for 20 years.
The Tropic Thunder star beat his decades-long cigarette habit when he welcomed his first son in 2006 - but he became addicted to nicotine chewing gum.
And it’s taken him another four years to stop relying on it to stop his cravings.

AL PACINO will be back on Broadway in February (11) after agreeing to extend his critically-acclaimed run in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE.
The Godfather star tackles the role of money-lender Shylock, opposite actress Lily Rabe in the Shakespeare play, and has won high praise from critics for what they insist is the best performance of the current theatre season.
The New York revival of the classic play is making in excess of $1 million (£670,000) a week at the box office - unprecedented figures for a non-musical - and theatre bosses were keen to extend Pacino’s 78 performances past his previously scheduled Broadway bow.
The play will take a brief hiatus on its original closing date of 9 January (11) to allow Pacino time to film a movie, before resuming performances at the Broadhurst Theater from 1 to 20 February (11).
