Actor PAUL REUBENS’ madcap PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW is heading back to TV in the U.S.
Bosses at HBO have announced they will broadcast the Broadway production based on Paul Reubens’ original stage show early next year (11).
Reubens has recreated his Saturday morning kids show, Pee-wee’s Playhouse, as an adult production for the stage and the concept has been a big hit in both Los Angeles and New York.
A statement from HBO reads, "Before his hit series and movies, HBO introduced Paul Reubens’ Pee-wee Herman to a national audience in the Young Comedians series, followed by the groundbreaking 1981 special.
"It’s thrilling to have Paul back on the network, and it will be a blast to return to Pee-wee’s Playhouse."

Actress CHLOE SEVIGNY is on the hunt for a husband after deciding she wants a family life like BIG LOVE co-star JEANNE TRIPPLEHORN.
The Kids star admits Tripplehorn has become her role model - because the Basic Instinct star has the perfect home life - and now she wants to emulate her happiness with the perfect partner.
Sevigny says, "She has a beautiful marriage, a wonderful husband and child. That’s something I aspire to after seeing someone with that lifestyle.
"I want a guy who is masculine, good with his hands… Facial hair is a big turn-on. Most of the kids I hang out with in New York are hipster arty types, but I like a stronger, more physically imposing man.
"I’m dating, but I’m starting to feel a little discouraged… I’ve been texting for a year with a couple of guys without ever going on a date with them… Sadly, I haven’t been doing a lot of kissing lately." And Sevigny is urging strangers to come up and say hi if they like the look of her at Christmas parties.
She tells Playboy magazine, "I’d like to find someone to procreate with… If you’re out and about and fit the description, come up and say hi. I won’t bite. Well, maybe a little, if you’re lucky."

STAR TREK producer DAMON LINDELOF regrets poking fun at the latest SPIDER-MAN stage catastrophe as a stuntman fights for his life in hospital.
Lindelof insists he had no idea the latest mishap onstage in the superhero musical on Broadway was so serious when he tweeted, "With great power, comes great respWAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGHSMASHCRASHKATHUMP!!!!!" on Monday (20Dec10).
His remarks followed Internet footage of stunt double Christopher Tierney falling from the stage during a preview performance.
He suffered several broken ribs and internal bleeding after his safety cable snapped.
After learning just how seriously Tierney had been injured Lindelof tweeted fans, "Bad taste. Honest regrets. And hoping for a speedy recovery."

U.S. soccer star LANDON DONOVAN has given up on plans to reconcile permanently with actress wife BIANCA KAJLICH - he has filed for divorce.
In documents obtained by TMZ.com, the World Cup hero has cited irreconcilable differences for the split.
The couple split in 2009 but there were hopes of a reunion earlier this year (10) when Donovan namechecked his estranged partner during an emotional World Cup TV interview.
Kajlich and Donovan were then spotted at a number of glitzy events and launches, but they refused to talk about the status of their marriage.
Donovan is seeking spousal support from the actress.
The couple wed in 2006.

Queen Elizabeth’s grandson Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne, and his wife Autumn are expecting their first child in the coming days.
The baby news comes just a day after Peter’s sister Zara, 29, announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Mike Tindall.
Phillips, who lives and works in Hong Kong, and his wife wed in 2008.

The sister of one of the men arrested inside 50 CENT’s Connecticut mansion has spoken out to defend him against allegations of burglary, insisting he’s just a big fan who wanted to "hang out" at the rapper’s house.
Alexander Hernandez and Santos Padilla were taken into custody on Tuesday (21Dec10) after the superstar’s security guards alerted police to a suspicious car in the driveway of the lavish property.
Cops believe the intruders scaled a fence and entered the house through an unlocked door.
Hernandez was found in a closet, drinking a bottle of wine taken from 50’s collection and the pair was subsequently charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespass and possession of marijuana. Bail was set at $50,000 (£33,330) for each of them.
But Hernandez’s sister tells TMZ.com her teenage brother had no intention of stealing anything from the In Da Club hitmaker - he just wanted to experience the "thrill" of getting inside the Farmington home so he could "hang out" there.
50 Cent was not present at the time of the incident. He bought the estate from boxer Mike Tyson in 2003.

OPRAH WINFREY faces a nervous Christmas as she plans for the launch of her new TV network on 1 January (11) - because the ambitious project could be the worst mistake ever.
The TV icon is set to shut down work on her daily talk show to concentrate on running her own network, OWN, after taking advice from her closest friends - but now she’s having second thoughts and fears the project will be a big flop.
She tells Parade magazine, "I was questioning, ‘Why don’t I build a boat and sail around the world? Why don’t I learn French and find a nice little house in Provence?’ I could see myself bicycling with my baguettes and the whole thing. But I talked it over with my friends, and they all said, ‘You’re not going to be happy doing nothing.’" So she started work on creating her own TV network, which launches in America on New Year’s Day.
Winfrey insists at least she’s going in with her eyes wide open and the right sentiment for modern TV viewers.
She adds, "I’m concerned about the bigger overall picture: my belief that people are basically good and want to see the good in them reflected through their experiences and the shows that they watch. This is a gamble I’m taking.
"I believe that the banal state of television, the kind of insipid space that we’re in - that you can have as many channels as we have and not find anything that really interests you - means that, to a great extent, we’ve lost our way."

GIRLS ALOUD star SARAH HARDING is set to test her skills as TV presenter after signing up to front a dating show.
The blonde beauty will act as a matchmaker on Sky Living’s series Dating in the Dark - and she’s delighted by the prospect of bringing couples together.
She says, "I’ve been a huge fan of Dating in the Dark and I’m totally excited to be presenting the third supersized series. Dating is hard enough in the light, so I can’t wait to see what unfolds when the lights are off!" The series will kick off in the spring (11).

Rap mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has sent his "prayers" to former protege G-DEP as he faces life imprisonment for a 17-year-old murder.
The hip-hop star, real name Trevell Coleman, surrendered to police last week (15Dec10) and confessed to the 1993 shooting of John Henkel.
The rapper was prompted to come forward to cops as part of a 12-step programme to conquer his longrunning battle with drug addiction, but he allegedly had no idea his victim had died following the incident and he has now been charged with Henkel’s murder.
And Combs admits he was stunned to hear of Coleman’s legal predicament because he came across as a harmless individual.
In a radio interview with Shade 45’s Elliot Wilson, he says, "G-Dep is probably one of the nicest artists that I ever worked with. But you could always feel that something may be troubling his soul. He’s the type of guy that wouldn’t hurt a fly. I don’t know what happened in that instance, but my prayers go out to him." Coleman began making a name for himself as part of Diddy’s Bad Boy roster in the late 1990s and early 2000s, scoring hits with Let’s Get It and Special Delivery.

GORILLAZ and BLUR star DAMON ALBARN has warned GLEE producers not to contact him about using his songs on the TV show - because he can’t forgive them for stealing the BEATLES’ U.S. pop chart record.
Albarn has yet to be asked to be a part of the hit musical show but he insists he’ll never agree to let his songs be a part of the programme.
The Brit is still upset by the fact the cast of Glee toppled the Fab Four’s record for most appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 by a non-solo act earlier this year (10).
Albarn says, "Those songs won’t last like the Beatles… They’ll be forgotten in a few years time." He isn’t the only star keen to keep his tracks away from Glee - the Kings of Leon have already refused to let the show use hits like Use Somebody and Sex On Fire.

ANNIE LENNOX is resisting the urge to go under the knife in a bid to stay youthful - because she likes the fact she’s starting to look like her late mum.
The former Eurythmics star’s mother died six years ago (04) and Lennox has started to notice a stirring resemblance to her every time she looks in a mirror.
She says, "I see her face on mine, which is sort of a beautiful thing." But Lennox isn’t against cosmetic surgery, and tells Britain’s Woman & Home magazine she still may go for a nip and tuck in the future.
She adds, "I haven’t had surgery because I don’t want to be a victim, to feel that my self-worth is so tied up in what I look like, but, if in 10 years time I fancy a nip and tuck… we’ll see."

TAYLOR SWIFT has ended a remarkable year by landing the number one album in the U.S. Christmas charts.
The country star’s Speak Now has returned to the top spot on the Billboard 200 countdown after toppling Susan Boyle’s The Gift and keeping Michael Jackson’s new album Michael from claiming a number one.
Swift’s Speak Now first hit number one in November (10) when it became the only album of the year to score over one million first-week sales. In the past week, it sold an extra 259,000 and claims a third non-consecutive week on top.
Speak Now is the third bestselling album of 2010 behind Eminem’s Recovery and Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now.
Boyle’s The Gift falls to two and Jackson’s Michael is the highest new entry on the chart at three.
Michael is the world’s number one, according to bosses at Sony - more than three million albums have sold globally in its first week on release, and the album has gone platinum in the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Russia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Canada, Korea and the Middle East.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS and RYAN GOSLING have been given another Christmas boost - their new film will be released two days early to meet demand from U.S. movie fans.
The Weinstein Company had opted to release Blue Valentine in Los Angeles and New York on New Year’s Eve (31Dec10) but growing anticipation for the film has prompted producers to bring the date forward.
A spokesman for the Weinsteins tells WENN, "The switch gives the movie a two-day head start going into the holiday weekend.
"The move was fuelled by the film’s impressive word of mouth and strong critical response as well as Golden Globe nominations for both Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling." The new release date comes just days after the Weinsteins won their ratings battle with censors - Blue Valentine will now be released as an R film, not a restrictive NC-17.

A drunk driver who killed top California baseball star NICK ADENHART has been sentenced to 51 years behind bars.
Andrew Thomas Gallo, 23, was sentenced on Wednesday morning (22Dec10).
He was behind the wheel of a vehicle which collided with the Los Angeles Angels pitcher’s car in April, 2009.
Adenhart and two friends were killed in the crash, which came just hours after the sportsman made his first start of the baseball season for the Angels.

The opening of ETHAN HAWKE’s off-Broadway play BLOOD FROM A STONE has been pushed back six days to allow the stars of the show extra time to rehearse.
The production was due to officially launch on 6 January (11), but playwright Tommy Nohilly and director Scott Elliott have been forced to rework the script after recent previews of the comedy drama, about a troubled working class family in Connecticut, ran for over three hours.
Blood From a Stone will now open on 12 January (11) at the Acorn Theatre, according to the New York Times.
It won’t be the Training Day star’s first foray onto the New York stage - he’s previously earned a Tony Award nomination for his starring role in a 2006 production of Tom Stoppard’s The Coast of Utopia, and he received further praise for his performance in Shakespeare play The Winter’s Tale last year (09).

CHLOE SEVIGNY found herself in big trouble with the writers and producers of her hit TV show BIG LOVE when she went public with her thoughts about the "awful" series.
The Kids star revealed she was unhappy with the show’s storyline in an interview and went so far as to suggest it was becoming like a terrible Latin soap opera.
Her comments were not appreciated by the programme’s angry producers, who took her to task for going public with her remarks.
She tells Playboy magazine, "I got into a lot of trouble. It was a huge thing on the Internet.
"I loved being on the show; I love my character and my co-stars… I just felt it was a weaker season than others. I shouldn’t have said it."

KEVIN SPACEY fears he’ll have to give up his Christmas plans in his adopted London - because bad weather means he can’t get there.
The actor, who runs the Old Vic theatre in London, was hoping to fly to Britain for the holidays after promoting new film Casino Jack in the U.S. - but he can’t get a flight.
And now he fears winter storms in Los Angeles will prevent him from getting to his native New York.
He says, "I was actually gonna go to London (for Christmas) but the flights got cancelled. I was actually gonna build an ark to try to get out of Los Angeles, but I can’t even get into London because all the airports are closed."
