GOODWIN HAS BEEN A WEIGHTWATCHERS FAN FOR 23 YEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

Actress GINNIFER GOODWIN has stunned fans by revealing she has been battling weight issues as a member of diet organisation WeightWatchers since she was a kid.
The 32-year-old Walk The Line star tells Health magazine she has been a part of the WeightWatchers diet programme for 23 years.
Confessing she was an "unhappy" and "heavy little girl", Goodwin admits she sobbed when she first realised what she’d be eating after first signing up for the plan.
She says, "I remember my mum making dinner for me the first night that I was on this new programme, and I burst out crying… I thought she was trying to starve me to death." But she quickly got over her disappointment and now insists WeightWatchers has helped her live a healthy life.
She adds, "I have been a member of Weight Watchers for 23 years, and I’m back on it right now. It’s the only thing on the planet that doesn’t dehydrate you or just make you miserable. I’ve never had a dramatic weight problem, it’s just that I tend to indulge, and then I need to get back on track so I can button my pants." But the actress still dreads trips to the beach: "It doesn’t matter what my body looks like, I hate putting on bathing suits in front of other people."

ARNOLD: ‘I’D LIKE TO WORK WITH ROSEANNE AGAIN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:07 pm

Movie star TOM ARNOLD is keen to reunite with his bitter ex-wife ROSEANNE BARR but fears a stand-up comedy tour the former couple has been offered would be too expensive to stage.
The pair was married for four years at the beginning of the 1990s and their split was anything but amicable.
For the past 15 years, Arnold and Barr have traded insults online and in the press - but there are still some comedy promoters who think the couple should reunite for a tour.
The True Lies star tells news show Access Hollywood, "We’ve been offered a lot of money to tour together, but the cost of security was so high." However, Arnold isn’t ruling out teaming up with his ex: "Don’t you think we’d be great in (film) Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, a remake of that? Wouldn’t that be awesome? "It would be nice (to work with her)… I was a stepfather (to her kids) for five years… I wish her well and I want her to be happy." But a cosy get together appears to be some way off - Arnold pokes fun at Barr and their time together in his upcoming U.S. TV comedy special That’s My Story & I’m Sticking To It.

BARDEM AND CRUZ CANCEL SPANISH CHRISTMAS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

JAVIER BARDEM and PENELOPE CRUZ will spend their last Christmas before becoming parents in Los Angeles because bad weather in Europe has dashed their hopes of returning to their native Spain.
The Vicky Cristina Barcelona actors split their time between Madrid and Los Angeles and have been in Hollywood in recent weeks as Bardem promotes his latest film, Biutiful.
And they are preparing to celebrate Christmas with their American pals instead of joining family and friends in Spain, as a result of the heavy snowfall which has shut down airports and caused havoc for travellers across northern Europe.
Speaking to late night U.S. TV presenter Jay Leno, Bardem says, "We’re still working on that (plans for Christmas). (But) based on how the airports are in Europe, I think we’re going to stay here!" The couple, which wed in July (10), will welcome its first child together in March (11).
They’re not the only movie stars stranded in Los Angeles - Kevin Spacey has had to scrap his plans to fly back to his adopted London for a white Christmas because he can’t get a flight.

REINHARDT: ‘THERE’S NO NEW HILTON SEX TAPE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

PARIS HILTON’s ex-boyfriend DOUG REINHARDT has shot down rumours the socialite has been caught up in another sex tape scandal, insisting the former couple never filmed themselves in the bedroom.
The hotel heiress was left devastated in 2004 when ex-boyfriend film producer Rick Saloman released 1 Night in Paris - a video featuring explicit footage of the pair having sex.
Rumours surfaced online earlier this week (begs20Dec10) suggesting Hilton had become the star of another steamy home video while she was dating Reinhardt.
But Amanda Ruisi, a representative for the former The Hills star, has dismissed the claims, telling TMZ.com, "Doug says a sex tape with Paris and him doesn’t exist and never existed."

CROW AIRS HER ONSTAGE SECRET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

SHERYL CROW has worked hard to master her breathing techniques onstage - so she can belch mid-song without offending her audience.
The All I Wanna Do hitmaker occasionally feels the need to relieve trapped wind while performing, and admits she can now expel air at the same time as singing - and it’s not even noticeable.
She tells PopEater.com, "Well, my guitar player Doyle (Bramhall II) just thinks it’s fascinating that I can sing through a burp, if that means anything to you. I can be onstage and, you know, I can sustain a burp until I’m done with a phrase.
"You know part of it is just doing it, part of it is singing, it’s like any other sort of craft of muscle. The more you do it, hopefully, the better you get at it, the more you understand it and the better you are able to control."

SCRIBBLED JACKSON NOTE SELLS AT AUCTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:19 pm

A note purportedly handwritten by the late MICHAEL JACKSON has sold at auction for more than $3,000 (£2,000).
The memo, scrawled down on his dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein’s personal stationary, was allegedly found by staff at Jackson’s Holmby Hills, California mansion days after the singer’s June 2009 passing.
The scribbled message references the King of Pop’s doomed This Is It concert extravaganza in London and states, "One year in London 3? International # 1 2 3 4 5 albums and single." It goes on to detail a list of things to do: "Talk to digital people, Universal, Warner… make huge $." LOHAN ACCUSER ‘REGRETS’ CAUSING CONTROVERSY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:19 pm

The woman at the centre of LINDSAY LOHAN’s rehab controversy "regrets" speaking out about allegations the actress assaulted her during an incident earlier this month (Dec10), according to her lawyer.
The Mean Girls star hit the headlines this week (begs20Dec10) when it was revealed police were called to investigate a "hand-to-hand battery" on 12 December (10) after Lohan reportedly clashed with a member of staff at California’s Betty Ford clinic, where she had been receiving treatment for drug issues.
Sources close to the actress insist she simply brushed the staffmember off when she was "unfairly" lectured about arriving at the clinic after her curfew and ordered to take a drug or alcohol test.
The woman behind the allegations, Dawn Holland, revealed to TMZ.com that Lohan was aggressive and in a "very angry" state when she was caught sneaking back in to the clinic, and she claimed the star had been drinking.
Holland was subsequently fired for breaching patient confidentiality and her lawyer, Keith Davidson, admits his client is upset at the uproar caused by her claims.
Speaking on U.S. TV’s Today show on Thursday (23Dec10), Davidson says, "She (Holland) was caught off guard by the attention this incident garnered and she regrets a large part of what happened in general." The legal representative goes on to accuse Betty Ford bosses of "unlawful termination", but insists Holland has no plans to sue Lohan herself - because altercations like the reported fight are "not uncommon" in rehab.
Asked whether Holland would be taking Lohan to court, Davidson replies, "Absolutely not, no. As a matter of fact, my client applauds Miss Lohan and her efforts at rehabilitation. Rehab is not a perfect science." And he is adamant Holland only wants the best for Lohan - because the clash would never have made it into the press if she wasn’t famous.
He continues, "I’ve spoken to members of Miss Lohan’s family, her father Michael, and I can assure you that the incident, in the context of rehabilitation, is not uncommon. They are sometimes confrontational, verbal, often times physical. If this happened on a street corner, this would not have gained any attention, there would be no charges filed.
"She (Holland) applauds Miss Lohan, she congratulates her for her efforts. She’s seen first-hand what Miss Lohan has gone through and she wants nothing more than for Miss Lohan to get better, to get well and heal herself."

PALTROW TO SING WITH MARTIN AT COLDPLAY/JAY-Z GIG?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

GWYNETH PALTROW is set to ring in 2011 by joining her rocker husband CHRIS MARTIN and his band COLDPLAY onstage at their New Year’s Eve (31Dec10) concert with JAY-Z in Las Vegas, according to a U.S. report.
The Hollywood actress hits the high notes in her new movie Country Strong, in which she plays an alcoholic singer battling to get her career back on track, and she recently wowed fans with an all-singing, all-dancing stint on hit TV series Glee.
She also performed live at the Country Music Association Awards last month (Nov10).
Now the New York Post reports Paltrow will be hitting the stage as part of her New Year celebrations - rocking out with Martin and Jay-Z, who is also said to be teaming up with his superstar wife Beyonce to make the show at Sin City’s Cosmopolitan one to remember.
However, a representative for the new venue has warned ticketholders not to get their hopes up just yet - as neither Paltrow nor Beyonce are scheduled to take to the stage with their spouses.
The spokesperson tells the New York Post’s Page Six column, "Gwyneth and Beyonce are not confirmed for any kind of performance at this point." The rapper and the British rockers signed a multi-million dollar deal to play on 31 December (10) and are due to perform separately before teaming up for a joint set at the end of the Vegas spectacular.
Paltrow is also hoping to hit the road with her Country Strong co-star Tim McGraw in 2011.

MARTIN’S ‘JURY DUTY’ TWEETS ARE PURE COMEDY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

Comedian STEVE MARTIN had his Twitter.com followers scratching their heads this week (begs20Dec10) after appearing to "report from jury duty" with a series of controversial updates about his court sessions.
The Pink Panther star began writing the court-inspired tweets on Monday (20Dec10), leading fans to believe he had been summoned to perform his civic duty.
But his microblog messages immediately prompted devotees to question whether he was actually sitting on a jury or if it was all a big ruse after raising concerns about his impartiality with his very first post.
He wrote, "REPORT FROM JURY DUTY: defendant looks like a murderer. GUILTY. Waiting for opening remarks." In a series of later posts, Martin added, "guy I thought was up for murder turns out to be defense attorney. I bet he murdered someone anyway.
"Prosecuting attorney. Don’t like his accent. Serbian? Going with INNOCENT. We’re five minutes in." Martin also claimed to have angered the presiding judge by making funny remarks in court, before tweeting about "discussing (the) case with news media" during a lunch break - a clear violation of jury rules.
But Martin’s publicist Alan Nierob has brushed off the concerns and criticism, insisting the actor is simply testing out new comedy material.
Nierob tells the New York Post, "He’s not serving jury duty, just tweeting as usual."

NEW YORK LABOUR INSPECTORS PROMPT SPIDER-MAN CANCELLATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

New York State Labor Department officials forced producers to cancel Wednesday night’s (22Dec10) SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK performance on Broadway at the last minute over fears for the production’s safety measures.
The producers assured fans the evening show would go on as planned after cancelling a matinee performance following a mishap on Monday (20Dec10), which sent stunt double Christopher Tierney to hospital with smashed ribs and internal bleeding - but the show was scrapped.
An investigation by officials at the Actors’ Equity Association ruled the incident, in which Tierney plunged from the stage, was due to "human error" on the stage crew’s part.
The shocking accident - the fourth since the show opened - prompted Spider-Man producers to axe Wednesday’s matinee to allow a number of safety precautions to be added to the show.
They had hoped to resume production in time for the evening performance, but that was abruptly scrapped after labour inspectors demanded access to the set in a bid to prevent any further accidents.
Director Julie Taymor held a meeting with concerned castmembers on Wednesday to assure them producers were taking every precaution available.
She told The Hollywood Reporter, "Nothing is more important that the safety of our Spider-Man family." And the castmembers, led by Spider-Man Reeve Carney and Patrick Page, did their best to cheer up disappointed theatregoers on Wednesday night by taking to the streets outside the Foxwoods Theatre to meet fans.
Carney says, "We came out to sign autographs for the fans. It was Patrick Page’s idea - the Green Goblin isn’t so bad after all!" And Page is remaining positive about the future of the show, insisting he’s "confident everything will work out in the end".
The production is expected to resume on Thursday (23Dec10).

BALDWIN SUES COSTNER OVER BP DEAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:49 pm

STEPHEN BALDWIN is suing KEVIN COSTNER for allegedly duping him into selling his shares in a pioneering oil separating process.
The Dances With Wolves star and his inventor brother were among the saviours of the BP oil spill disaster earlier this year (10), thanks to their oil-filtration system. The Costners sold 32 devices to BP bosses through their company Costner Industries Nevada Corporation.
The systems helped the oil experts minimise the damage caused by the massive slick, which started drifting ashore on America’s Gulf Coast after a rig ruptured in April (10).
But now the actor faces legal action from Baldwin, who claims he should have benefited from the Costners’ success.
In a lawsuit filed in Louisiana and obtained by TMZ.com, Baldwin claims he was a 10 per cent partner in the invention backed by Costner, but the movie star and his partners made it seem as if Costner had already sold his shares in the company when in fact he was still heavily invested. Baldwin also claims the company misrepresented that there was no deal to sell the device to BP.
Baldwin alleges he was duped into selling his shares back to the company so Costner and his partners could score a bigger profit in a reported $52 million (£34.6 million) deal.
Baldwin is suing for unspecified damages.

JENKINS & BLUNT’S PLANE PERFORMANCE FOR TROOPS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:46 pm

JAMES BLUNT and KATHERINE JENKINS refused to let their cancelled trip to Afghanistan stop them boosting the spirits of British troops - they entertained soldiers onboard a plane stuck on an airport runway.
The classical singer and the pop star were due to jet out on Monday (20Dec10) to give service men and women a festive show before Christmas (25Dec10).
Their visit was cancelled as a result of the severe snow and freezing temperatures which have blighted the U.K. and Europe - but Jenkins and Blunt defiantly performed for troops stuck on the runway as they waited for their plane to take off.
Jenkins informed her Twitter.com fans, "Right then, off to meet some of these lovely people on board to tell them how wonderful they are." The stars sang Silent Night for those onboard and posed for snaps with the happy soldiers.
