JENSEN EMBRACING CHRISTMAS WITH YOUNG SON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:07 am

UGLY BETTY star ASHLEY JENSEN is fully embracing the festive season this year (10) - because her 14-month-old son is allowing her to enjoy the traditions of Christmas again.
The actress gave birth to her first child, Frankie, last October (10) and although Jensen admits he is still too young to be aware of the holidays, she is pleased she can revert back to the rituals of her own childhood.
She tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, "He’s still too young to fully embrace the joys of the festive season, but the fact that he’s starting to be aware of the world around him is the perfect excuse to re-embrace those wonderful traditions - like leaving out a mince pie and a glass of whisky for Santa on Christmas Eve.
"Before Frankie came along, it was all a bit forced. I’d say to my cousins on Christmas Eve, ‘How about we hang up our stockings and go to midnight mass?’ Then I’d remember that they were 19 and more interested in going to the pub with their mates than observing Christmas traditions with me! Now I can be all festive again!"

GREENE TERRIFIED OF SANTA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:07 am

TWILIGHT star ASHLEY GREENE has an odd Santa phobia that dates back to a childhood incident when her mother found her asking a stranger with a beard for Christmas gifts.
The actress was playing in a bank on a trip out with her mum and when she disappeared from view, panic set in.
She recalls, "She sees me and I’m on this poor man’s lap, who happens to be a little chubby with a beard… I’m like, ‘I want a pony, I want a unicorn’.
"I’m, like, three and so my mom of course then has to tell me about strangers and how dangerous they are. She’s like, ‘If you ever sit on Santa’s lap, you’ll never see your mum again.’ "After that I was like, ‘Hmmm, Santa, not so great!"

She tells MTV show The Seven, "We have a big family holiday situation, like 84 people at our house. I don’t cook for everyone, but I do cook at least one turkey and I do like four or five sides, so we bring both of our families together and have a big football watching thing.
"My father-in-law went to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) and my father went to S.C. (University of Southern California), so we have a rivalry. At Christmas time one wears an S.C. santa hat, and the other wears a UCLA santa hat and then they bet each other."

AFFLECK FRETS OVER GARNER’S GIFT EVERY YEAR

But Affleck admits he often ends up scouring shops at the last minute for the right gift to leave for his wife under the tree.
He tells U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "I’m not particularly proud of it. But it’s a bit of a ’50s thing, I guess. Because my wife is so capable and because I’m less so, she does a lot of that (shopping) work and I kind of root her on.
"It takes her as much energy and effort to buy like the 20 gifts we’re going to buy other people, as it does (for me) to buy her gift. I spend the whole time fretting about that and being nervous and hoping she likes that.
"And then I end up at like (pharmacy) CVS on the 24th being like, ‘Maybe she’d like a little Godzilla that goes around.’ My kids actually would like that…"

"We’ll be cuddling up with our baby… It’s all about family." Meanwhile, Kidman insists she and her husband won’t be showering her baby girl Sunday Rose with expensive gifts this year (10) - all she wants for Christmas is "pretzels and raisins".
The actress’ daughter has become a big fan of the snack foods and would be overjoyed if all she found under the tree on Christmas Day (25Dec10) was a box full of edible treats.
Kidman says, "She wants pretzels and raisins. I said, ‘No presents?’ and she said, ‘No, just pretzels and raisins please.’ She doesn’t eat candy often but she loves raisins, she’ll choose raisins over chocolate."

I think it’s called The Bible Experience, but they had all of these actors re-enact the Bible on CD, so I really want that." LOTT’S FESTIVE FAMILY SINGALONG

The Mama Do hitmaker loves spending the holidays with her parents at their home in south London, and always joins in their traditional family games, including impersonating a famous rock star.
And her chart success doesn’t make a difference in the Lott household - her father usually wins the contest with his turn as Rod Stewart.
Lott says, "It’s a right laugh and I usually do Whitney (Houston) and my grandad does a Frank Sinatra song or You’ll Never Walk Alone. And actually, Grandad’s got quite a good, strong voice. I can feel a duet coming on… My dad usually does a bit of Rod Stewart and he’s got a croaky voice. He puts on a Rod wig and everything and he usually wins. Last time, I came second."
