A former contestant on BRET MICHAELS’ reality TV show ROCK OF LOVE BUS has started a six-month jail sentence for assaulting another woman in 2008.
Brittanya O’Campo, who appeared on the Poison star’s show last year (09), was handed her sentence after pleading guilty to felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanour battery.
The 25 year old, who also starred on Charm School with Ricki Lake, checked in to Ventura County Jail in California on Tuesday (28Dec10), reports TMZ.com.
In a post on her Twitter.com page before starting her sentence, O’Campo wrote, "I will be locked up for 6 monthes (sic). I can only get postcards, no letters or packages."

A man serving a life sentence for killing actress NICOLE DUFRESNE has had his appeal for a new trial turned down.
Rudy Fleming, who is currently serving time for shooting duFresne in a New York street in 2005, claims he has been diagnosed as "psychotic" and is demanding a new trial to prove he cannot be held responsible for the killing.
But on Tuesday (28Dec10) an appeal court panel ruled Fleming, who insists he suffers hallucinations which include the vision of a "giant marshmallow man", is "exaggerating" his mental illness, and upheld his life sentence.
The 25 year old was sentenced to life without parole in 2006 after he was found competent to stand trial, reports the New York Daily News.

ED WESTWICK was left stranded in Iceland over the holidays after heavy snow grounded flights out of the country.
The Gossip Girl star flew into Reykjavik shortly before Christmas (25Dec10), but wintry weather conditions left him fearing he wouldn’t make it back to his native Britain to spend the festive season with his family.
Westwick spent 48 hours at the airport waiting for a flight to London, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication, "He walked into the duty-free shop and bought a bottle of vodka. He looked like hell."

KENNETH STARR’s bid for temporary freedom has failed - the celebrity accountant has lost an appeal to have his bail reduced.
Starr is facing a lengthy prison term after he admitted embezzling $30 million (£20 million) from clients such as Uma Thurman, Martin Scorsese, and Wesley Snipes.
He pleaded guilty in September (10) to charges including wire fraud and money laundering, and is due to be sentenced in February (11).
Starr requested a reduction of his $10 million (£6.7 million) bail to enable him to be freed pending the sentencing, but on Tuesday (28Dec10) a judge refused, reports the New York Daily News.
At the same time, Federal District Judge Shira Scheindlin also turned down a U.S. attorney’s request to revoke Starr’s bond altogether after prosecutors argued he could flee if he’s freed on bail.

Country music legend MERLE HAGGARD has stepped up to defend beleaguered U.S. President BARACK OBAMA after meeting him earlier this month (Dec10) and discovering he’s nothing like his media portrayal.
Haggard met Obama at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C. - where he was feted alongside Sir Paul McCartney and Oprah Winfrey, among others, for his lifetime services to the arts - and he insists the President is a great guy.
The singer/songwriter tells Rolling Stone magazine, "It’s really almost criminal what they (media) do with our President. There seems to be no shame or anything. They call him all kinds of names all day long, saying he’s doing certain things that he’s not. It’s just a big old political game that I don’t want to be part of.
"There are people spending their lives putting him down. I’m sure some of it’s true and some of it’s not. I was very surprised to find the man very humble and he had a nice handshake. His wife was very cordial to the guests and especially me. They made a special effort to make me feel welcome. It was not at all the way the media described him to be.
"He’s not conceited. He’s very humble about being the President of the United States, especially in comparison to some presidents we’ve had who come across like they don’t need anybody’s help." But Haggard admits he feels for Obama as the President attempts to deal with the problems that blight America: "I think he knows he’s in over his head. Anybody with any sense who takes that job and thinks they can handle it must be an idiot."

CARRIE FISHER has penned an open letter to LINDSAY LOHAN, PARIS HILTON and Hollywood’s young stars, urging them to "stop for a minute to appreciate where you could be".
The Star Wars icon, who has tackled her fair share of problems, is calling on the new wave of troubled stars to learn from her bad example, clean up and stop throwing away amazing opportunities they’re given.
Her missive, published in the new issue of style magazine Black Book, comes at the end of a year when Lohan hit the headlines for violating probation and bouncing from jail to rehab and socialite Hilton was caught with drugs in her purse in Las Vegas.
In her caustic letter the actress and author writes, "(Lindsay’s) a mess. She should back out of the whole scene and move to the f**king south of France.
"Life in the spotlight can be cruel. It sets you apart from other people, so that life becomes more about what you are than who you are. That’s what happened to me. It’s a privileged job, which is why everyone wants it, but it used to mean you earned those privileges based on talent. Now you can become famous for being a spectacle…
"Acquiring celebrity can be an exciting thing, but there never comes a time, once you have it, when you can relax and say, ‘Okay, I’m famous now. Isn’t this great?’ Fame is something you have to maintain, like a weird garden… Don’t imagine that Julia Roberts is just kicking back in her house with her kids.
"My advice to Young Hollywood? If you’re an actor, learn another skill. Write a book or play an instrument - at the very least, learn to manage your own finances… I wish I’d known all of this earlier, and I wish I’d paid more attention to my life as it was going by."

Hollywood couple ASHTON KUTCHER and DEMI MOORE have committed to tackle the tough Master Cleanse diet once a year - to get their bodies prepared for a potential food shortage.
Actor Kutcher fears the end of the world is nigh and he is doing what he can to make sure he and his wife survive on as little as possible.
So the couple has chosen to exist on nothing but water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and lemon juice for 10 days once a year.
The Killers star tells Men’s Fitness magazine, "If the s**t hits the fan, I like knowing I could live off water and syrup for a couple of weeks." Moore and Kutcher kicked off their first Master Cleanse earlier this year (10) - and tweeted about how tough it was.
The actor wrote, "hrs (hours) into the master cleanse. I want a steak, a beer, and a blow-pop. Hmmm this is gonna be rough." Moore, who insisted she was on the cleanse for "health reasons", added, "2nd day better than the 1st! (I’ll) let you know if I make it to day 4." The couple completed the Master Cleanse challenge.

Director ALEJANDRO GONZALEZ INARRITU is urging Oscars bosses to consider JAVIER BARDEM for a Best Actor nod for his portrayal of a cancer victim in new movie BIUTIFUL.
The star took home the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in France earlier this year (10) for his performance in the harrowing drama, but was left out in the recent Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations, which will see winners crowned next month (Jan11).
However, Inarritu is hopeful Bardem will take Hollywood’s highest honour at the Academy Awards ceremony in February (11) - as he’s convinced the actor only missed out on several nods because of the film’s timing.
He tells E! Online, "I think the fact that the film has not been out yet, that many people haven’t seen it or we don’t have the money to spend to put all the ads out there. They (awards bosses) have 40 DVDs to watch. Maybe Biutiful will be the last one for them to watch because it’s a subtitled film. There’s many filters or challenges that we have to face.
"I have big hopes (for an Oscars nomination). I truly believe that once (they) see it (Bardem will be nominated)." While Bardem admits filming the movie had a big impact on him, telling Reuters: "It’s been rewarding in the sense of putting yourself in front of a mirror where you face your limits and have to deal with them. This is, by far, the professional experience that has helped me the most when thinking about my craft, about my job, about my responsibilities."

AVRIL LAVIGNE has hailed the setting up of her own charity as her proudest achievement of 2010.
The singer has endured a turbulent year, which saw her finalise her divorce from Deryck Whibley and fall out with her record label bosses over her upcoming album Goodbye Lullaby.
The Complicated hitmaker launched the Avril Lavigne Foundation in September (10) to help sick and disabled kids after spending most of the year working on the project.
And she admits she’s pleased to have finally launched the charity, telling EW.com, "The focus is on sick and disabled children and youth. The reason I started it is that I was doing a lot of work with Make a Wish foundation and other charities, and I just really wanted to do more, so I was really passionate about starting my own foundation, so I’ve spent the last year just getting that started and focusing on what my mission is.
"It’s a really big project, it’s something that I’m just starting, so I’m really excited to get my fans involved now that I’m going to be back out there again, and have that grow."
