JACKSON REMEMBERS ‘SWEET’ SHAKUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

JANET JACKSON still misses her late POETIC JUSTICE co-star TUPAC SHAKUR, insisting the "sweet" rapper wasn’t always the tough guy he portrayed through his music.
Jackson made her film debut alongside Shakur in the 1993 romance, and became close friends with the hardman hip-hop star, who was fatally shot in Las Vegas three years later (96).
And Jackson reveals she saw Shakur’s softer side on set.
She tells Britain’s Sunday Telegraph, "Pac was just silly. He was completely different from what people knew. Not that it was an act, the person that the world knew, because that was him, too. I adored him - he liked to play and laugh.
"I remember when he said he was going back to L.A. to get a tattoo. And I said, ‘Why are you going to L.A. We’re not supposed to leave, we have a shoot tomorrow.’ He looked at me and said, ‘Square!’ When he came back he showed me the tattoo he got on his stomach. He was sweet. Granted, there was another side, but he wouldn’t snap or go crazy out of nowhere. There had to be something that triggered that. I miss him."

BOSNIAN RAPE VICTIMS CALL FOR JOLIE TO BE STRIPPED OF U.N. ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:19 pm

ANGELINA JOLIE’s directorial debut has sparked fresh controversy among a group of Bosnian War rape victims who are calling for the "ignorant" actress to be stripped of her role as a United Nations goodwill ambassador.
The Hollywood star has stepped behind the camera for the first time for the as-yet-untitled wartime love story, which is set in the region and was shot in Hungary and Bosnia in October and November (10).
The project encountered problems early on in its production when Bosnian government officials revoked her film permit following confusion over the plot, which was said to focus on a Muslim woman who falls in love with her Serbian rapist.
The claims caused outrage among members of the Women Victims of War (WVW) association and Jolie offered to make amends by meeting with the campaign group to clear up the reporting mistake.
The actress invited WVW representatives to Hungary to sit down face-to-face and discuss their grievances, but the campaigners rejected the offer, insisting any meeting should take place in Bosnia, where the war crimes had been committed.
Now WVW members have fired off a letter of complaint to the United Nations, insisting they are "deeply concerned" about Jolie’s film.
In the letter, published on Monday (29Nov10), the campaigners write, "We have insisted to meet Angelina Jolie since we don’t want to be wrongly presented in the world… Our voices are worthwhile and we should have got much more respect…
"Angelina made a big mistake. We feel that she did not act like a real UNHCR ambassador and we believe that she has no more credibility to remain the ambassador." WVW boss Bakira Hasecic adds to the AFP, "We wanted to talk woman to woman. She should have asked after the victims, come (to Bosnia) before the shooting to hear our voice.
"As far as we are concerned a love story could not have existed in a camp. Such an interpretation is causing us mental suffering."

OZZY URGES BITTER EX TO SEND EX DIRTY GIFT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

OZZY OSBOURNE has advised a dumped ex to send her former boyfriend a box of excrement - just like his wife SHARON does to people she means to get even with.
In his latest Rolling Stone magazine advice column, the rocker urges reader Ashley from New Jersey to follow through on her plan to send her ex, who proposed to her best friend on the one-year anniversary of their split, a "bag of s**t" - but suggests she does it with class.
He writes, "If you’re gonna send c**p in the mail, take a leaf out of my wife’s book and do it right: Put it in a Tiffany’s box. Everyone loves to get a Tiffany’s box, which makes the thought of them (ex and his fiancee) untying the ribbon and bow to find a fresh dump inside even more satisfying."

RILEY’S DAD BANNED HER FROM DATING MUSK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

Actress TALULAH RILEY almost missed out on dating the man of her dreams - because her father thought he was married.
The Inception star wed internet tycoon Elon Musk in September (10) after less than two years together, and she admits he is the only man she’s ever slept with.
But their fairytale romance almost ended before it began - her dad used the internet to research Musk before the couple went on a date, and he mistakenly thought the businessman was still married to his ex-wife, Justine.
He told Riley the man she was about to go out with was a "playboy" and a "b**tard" and ordered her to cancel their dinner arrangement.
She says, "I was sad, because my judgement on people is usually quite astute." But after a friend reassured her that Musk had divorced several weeks earlier, the actress went on the date and realised she had found her soulmate.
She adds, "He’s very chivalrous and protective; always concerned for my comfort. And he’s very romantic."

CARLYLE’S AGONY OVER HITLER ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

ROBERT CARLYLE cried when he was portraying Nazi leader ADOLF HITLER - and got so involved in the role that he felt full of "hatred" and "bile" for months afterwards.
The Scottish star played the German Fuhrer in 2003 movie Hitler: The Rise of Evil, and wept on set because he was convinced his anti-Semitic rants were offending Jewish crewmembers.
And Carlyle admits the strain of playing Hitler stayed with him for "months" after the cameras stopped rolling.
He says, "If you are spewing bile as Adolf Hitler it doesn’t just stop when they say ‘cut’. It’s in your f**king mind, this stuff is rattling around, these words, this hatred, this bile, is in there, and you need to just sit and let it go. That one in particular took months to get rid of, I felt horrible.
"There was one really hard moment during the beer hall speeches, it was only after I’d done it that I realised how many Jewish people were in the crew, and that affected me. I was in tears and going round saying sorry and stuff. They would say, ‘It’s OK’, but it was bad for me because I felt awful saying that stuff."

HENLEY INJURED IN NARNIA SWORD FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

British actress GEORGIE HENLEY had a tough time on the set of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER - she was hospitalised after she was hit in the face with a sword.
The teenager was filming a fight scene for the upcoming fantasy movie when one of her assailants accidentally struck her with a weapon.
Henley was left with a black eye and a swollen cheek - and producers had to use make-up to hide the bruise, and camera tricks to "reshape" her face.
She tells Britain’s You magazine, "The worst thing happened in a sword scene in which I had to fight off four grown men. We had almost got it right on the first take but the camera missed an important bit where I kick one of the men in, er, a not-so-very-nice-place, and they wanted me to do it again.
"So we did it, but then I forgot that I was supposed to duck and one of the men’s sword handles hit me. I had to go to accident and emergency - I had a black eye and massive swelling on one side of my face. We had to continue shooting the next day, so they applied tons of make-up and digitally reshaped my face!"

AFFLECK TURNED DOWN SUPERMAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:28 pm

BEN AFFLECK turned down the chance to direct the new SUPERMAN film because he didn’t feel confident enough to take charge of an "epic effects movie".
Christopher Nolan, the brains behind the rebooted Batman franchise, is bringing the Man of Steel back to the big screen in a new installment following Bryan Singer’s 2006 offering Superman Returns.
Nolan, who will act as a producer on the film, recently hired Watchmen moviemaker Zack Snyder to direct it, and Affleck has now revealed he was "tempted" by the job, but decided to leave the superhero movie to a director better acquainted with big budget blockbusters.
He tells Deadline.com, "The one benefit of having done all kinds of movies as an actor is, you learn the pros and cons of being tempted to do a really big movie because it costs a lot of money. With Superman, I think they’re going to do a great version. Chris Nolan is brilliant and they’ve got a great director for it.
"I’ve love to do something like Blade Runner, but a lesson I’ve learned is to not look at movies based on budget, how much they’ll spend on effects, or where they will shoot. Story is what’s important. Also, there are a lot of guys ahead of me on the list to do epic effects movies." Affleck previously donned the superhero’s cape to play Superman actor George Reeves in 2006 film Hollywoodland.

ELTON FEARS TALENT SHOWS WILL ‘DAMAGE’ CONTESTANTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

SIR ELTON JOHN has reignited his war of words with SIMON COWELL by suggesting the music mogul’s TV talent shows can leave contestants with lasting "psychological damage".
The music legend was linked to a role on the American Idol judging panel earlier this year (10), but he fiercely denied the rumours - branding singing contests "boring" and "brain crippling".
Cowell responded by accusing the star of "missing the point" and insisting high profile artists feel "resentment" towards singers who make their name on his TV shows.
The Rocket Man has now waded into the debate once again, insisting programmes such as American Idol and The X Factor can harm competitors, as they are treated like "products" and "dumped" soon after finding fame.
He tells Britain’s Absolute Radio, "What’s the psychological damage going to be when you’ve humped and dumped them, and the next one comes along? "They’re a bit like products, to be honest with you. They’re products, and the record comes out at Christmas, and it’s always number one, and then what happens next year? Why aren’t they touring? Who’s managing these people? Why aren’t you building their career properly? That’s what worries me.
"You know, I don’t hate The X Factor. I hate what happens to people’s careers, because it’s not thought about properly."

But the couple has yet to make a decision on what to call a baby girl, adding, "We’re all over the place.
