CASSIDY BLAMES ARREST ON ‘WANDERING EYE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

Former teen idol DAVID CASSIDY blamed his failed sobriety test on a "wandering eye" he’s suffered with since he was a child, according to a newly emerged video shot on the night of his arrest on suspicion of drink driving.
The Partridge Family star was driving along Florida’s famous Turnpike freeway earlier this month (03Nov10) when cops in Fort Pierce spotted his Mercedes weaving on and off the road and pulled over the vehicle.
The 60-year-old actor/singer failed two roadside sobriety tests. Police officers allegedly found a half-empty bottle of bourbon in the car but a representative for the star denied he was drunk behind the wheel.
According to the police report, Cassidy was "swaying while standing" during the tests - but a new video, obtained by TMZ.com, shows the star telling cops before the check that he suffers from a special eye condition.
A police officer is heard asking Cassidy if he has any problems with his eyes, to which the star responds: "I do… I had a wandering eye as a child… my right eye still wanders when I get tired." Cassidy was subsequently arrested and taken to a nearby jail, where he was booked for driving under the influence (DUI). He was released in the early hours of 4 November (10) on a $350 (£230) bond and is due back in court in January (10).

JONES DESPERATE FOR ‘HAMBURGER GUY’ ROLE IN COMING TO AMERICA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

Veteran actor JAMES EARL JONES was envious of his COMING TO AMERICA co-star JOHN AMOS the entire time they were on set - because he desperately wanted to play "the hamburger guy" instead of portraying an African king.
The star was cast as King Jaffe Joffer, the father of Eddie Murphy’s character Akeem, in the 1988 comedy because of the authoritative tone of his booming voice.
But Jones admits he pleaded with director John Landis to swap roles with Amos, who portrayed fast food restaurateur Cleo McDowell - only to have his request snubbed.
He tells the New York Post, "I wanted John’s role so bad. The director, John Landis, said, ‘You’ve done some Shakespeare. You might be able to fool the audience better (as the king). You’re not getting the hamburger guy.’ God, I wanted the hamburger guy so bad."

JUDGE DENIES BERESFORD-REDMAN BAIL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

Reality TV producer BRUCE BERESFORD-REDMAN has been denied bail by a Los Angeles judge as he continues to fight extradition to Mexico to face charges relating to the death of his wife.
The Survivor boss has been in custody in Los Angeles since 16 November (10), when U.S. authorities actioned a formal request from Mexican prosecutors to send him back to stand trial for aggravated homicide. The body of his partner Monica was found in a sewer near their holiday hotel in April (10).
Beresford-Redman, who fled Mexico to head home to L.A. shortly after the tragedy, appeared in court on Monday (29Nov10), when his attorney Richard Hirsch argued his client should be freed because authorities failed to file the proper documentation to secure the warrant for his arrest.
Hirsch also claimed the producer was not a flight risk because he had no criminal background and had two children to care for.
But U.S. District Court Judge Susan Segal rejected the motion, stating, "I do not believe he can be awarded with bail for the allegations which he has been alleged… Mr. Redman presents a risk of flight."

RUFFALO NOT ON TERROR ADVISORY LIST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:46 am

U.S. officials have denied reports MARK RUFFALO has been placed on a terror advisory list after organising screenings for a new documentary about natural gas drilling.
The Zodiac actor arranged showings for GasLand earlier this year (10) and voiced his concerns about the effects the practice is having on America’s water supplies.
He claimed his efforts to raise awareness and demand a stop to natural gas drilling attracted the attention of officials from Pennsylvania’s Office of Homeland Security, who reportedly added him to a terror alert watchlist.
But a spokesperson for the security agency has brushed off Ruffalo’s revelations, telling EW.com the actor’s name is not included on any terror list.

WILDE LEFT RED-FACED OVER OBAMA CHAT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

HOUSE star OLIVIA WILDE had an embarrassing encounter with U.S. President BARACK OBAMA when she screamed "like a schoolgirl" with excitement after speaking to him - and he heard her on his open phone line.
The actress was on the set of the medical drama in 2007 when Obama called her during his election campaign to thank her for agreeing to help spread his message in Iowa.
She admits she was thrilled to speak to the Democrat candidate and managed to contain her joy until hanging up - but her excited yelps were heard by Obama because the line was still open.
Wilde tells Britain’s Live magazine, "My phone rang. A voice said, ‘Olivia, this is Barack Obama.’ His voice is very easy to recognise. He said, ‘I just want to thank you for agreeing to go to Iowa to campaign,’ and I said, ‘I’d be honoured. I can’t wait - I’m very excited.’ "I was very professional the whole time we spoke, then I hung up the phone - or so I thought - and started squealing like a schoolgirl for about 15 seconds. Later my friend, who was with Barack because she worked on the campaign, said that he listened to the shrieking and laughed the entire time."

Pop singer LILY ALLEN has launched legal action against a British newspaper group for publishing unauthorised photographs of her new English country home.

SCHERZINGER’S SHOCK AT SEXY DOLLS OUTFITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:25 pm

NICOLE SCHERZINGER wept during her first photoshoot for the PUSSYCAT DOLLS - because she was "ashamed" of her sexy outfit.
The singer joined the burlesque troop in 2003 when it was in the process of being re-branded as a girl band, and she had to cast off her conservative image for a more racy look.
She admits wearing the group’s raunchy stage costumes helped her overcome her crippling shyness - but the outfits also made her feel under pressure to lose weight.
Scherzinger tells Britain’s Fabulous magazine, "Those teeny costumes were a shocker. I cried my way through my first photoshoot - I felt so self-conscious and ashamed. I’d never worn revealing clothes before, or pushed a sexy image. But I knew it was the right thing to do…
"Being a Pussycat Doll was the best thing I ever did. I learned to deal with my inhibitions, from my body to my shyness and self-consciousness… When I had to wear almost nothing on stage for the first time I got a shock - my body was visible from every angle and I just wanted to lose weight.
"I wasn’t big, but those costumes aren’t forgiving. I did every diet known to man. None of them work. You just have to exercise and eat sensibly."

Rapper NICKI MINAJ chooses to defy her father’s wishes to keep his past as an abusive husband under wraps, because she hopes speaking out about her childhood fears will deter other dads from acting "crazy".
The Your Love hitmaker, who was born in Trinidad and moved to New York when she was five, admits she was driven to succeed following her painful upbringing because she wanted to save her mum from the beatings she would suffer at the hands of her father, who battled drug addiction.
She tells Rolling Stone magazine, "When I first came to America, I would go in my room and kneel down at the foot of my bed and pray that god would make me rich so I could take care of my mother." Minaj, whose parents are still together, confesses her dad never wanted the star to discuss that part of her childhood now he’s got his life back on track, but she insists on sharing her story because she wants to warn other parents about the consequences of their actions.
She says, "It’s the price you pay when you abuse drugs and alcohol. Maybe one day your daughter will be famous and talk to every magazine about it, so think about that, dads out there who want to be crazy."

LETO’S VIDEO BANNED FROM TV

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:25 pm

JARED LETO’s latest 30 SECONDS TO MARS music video has been banned from U.S. TV after censors deemed it too explicit to broadcast.
The 20-minute promo for Hurricane, which Leto recently described as "a meditation on the violence of sex and the sex of violence", has caused a stir among TV executives in the U.S.
In a posting on his website JaredLeto.com on Sunday (28Nov10), the frontman listed a series of broadcasting issues he received from network bosses regarding sexually explicit bondage shots and violent fight scenes.
And he revealed he’s working on a "creative" editing solution to ensure the video can at least secure a "Post 10 PM" time slot.
Leto continues: "Here is one letter out of several we received about the inability for networks to broadcast HURRICANE as is. I am looking to find a creative solution that works for all." But guitarist Tomo Milicevic has vowed to make the clip available for fans to see online in its original, full-length format.
He tells RockAAA.com, "The internet is still restriction-free - the Hurricane film will be seen."

RIHANNA: ‘TALKING ABOUT BROWN MAKES ME LOOK BITTER AND SPITEFUL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

RIHANNA hates talking about her bust-up with ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN because she’s convinced it makes her look "bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry".
The Umbrella hitmaker was left battered and bruised following an altercation with Brown in early 2009, while he was left with an assault conviction.
The violent dispute and the couple’s subsequent split continues to make headlines whenever the Bajan beauty reveals more details, but Rihanna is adamant she would prefer to put the past behind her for good.
And the pop star admits she only talks about it because interviewers always bring up the subject.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "People won’t stop askin (about) it! It’s f**kin (sic) annoying! Nobody wants to relive that, but some ppl (people) can’t respect that! "I get it, they wanna raise awareness to young girls! But it ends up just makin me look bitter, pitiful, spiteful and angry!"
