WOODS BLAMES GOLF FOR AFFAIRS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

TIGER WOODS blames golf for his marriage woes, insisting the game made him so "self-centred" he thought he could "tackle the world".
The sports ace split from his wife Elin Nordegren last year (09) after his numerous affairs became public, and their divorce was finalised in August (10).
Woods’ infidelities were exposed after he crashed his car into a tree as he fled his home in Florida following a confrontation with Nordegren.
Now the golf star has penned an article about his public downfall for U.S. magazine Newsweek, in which he describes the emotional "pain" he’s still suffering as a result of his cheating.
But he is adamant many of the women who have since claimed to have slept with him are liars who are trying to "cash in" on the scandal.
Woods writes, "Golf is a self-centred game. That self reliance made me think I could tackle the world by myself… The physical pain from that car accident has long healed. But the pain in my soul is more complex and unsettling…
"Opportunists are trying still to cash in on my troubles, no matter how irresponsible or ridiculous their claims may be. In many cases, I’ve never even met these people."

WRITER’S LEGAL THREAT OVER JERSEY SHORE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

Bosses at MTV are facing possible legal action from a writer who claims network executives copied his idea for hit reality show JERSEY SHORE.
Christopher Gambale wrote an outline for a show, entitled Guidos: A Reality Series, in 2006 and registered the idea with the Writer’s Guild of America.
Gambale’s show, which he later allegedly pitched to MTV, focused on a "sad, pathetic excuse for a male… usually native to the New York/New Jersey tristate area" who enjoys "nightclubbing", according to the New York Daily News.
And he has now threatened to sue MTV bosses over the alleged similarities with Jersey Shore - Gambale’s lawyers have given network bosses until 10 December (10) to respond to their claims before filing suit.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

Officials at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Festival have offered up a $100,000 (£66,600) reward for information about the death of publicist RONNI CHASEN.

REEVE’S SON HONOURS LATE PARENTS AT CHARITY GALA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:22 pm

CHRISTOPHER REEVE’s teenage son WILL paid a touching tribute to his late parents at a star-studded charity gala in New York on Wednesday evening (17Nov10).
Will was just 11 years old when the Superman star died from a heart attack in 2004 after years of being wheelchair-bound following a horse-riding accident in 1995.
Further tragedy struck the 17 year old when his mother Dana passed away in 2006 after a battle with lung cancer - leaving him an orphan at the age of 13.
But Will proved he’s overcome his difficult early years as he took to the stage to promote their charity, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, at a glitzy gala in the Big Apple on Wednesday.
In front of star guests including Joan Collins and Meryl Streep, Will recounted times he spent with his parents as a youngster and credited them with becoming his inspiration.
He told the audience, "To me, Mom and Dad were the people who forced me to eat broccoli and to turn the TV off to do my homework. I never consciously viewed them as inspirations then, but their heroic efforts shaped who I am today and who I hope to become tomorrow.
"Some of my fondest memories of our family take place in our driveway, where I’m running around playing one sport or another. Dad’s watching me with a smile on his face the size of Texas, and Mom has her hands around Dad’s shoulders, letting go only to play fetch with our tennis ball-addict white Lab (Labrador).
"If I told you that story, and you knew nothing about me or my parents, I think it’s safe to say that you would have no clue that I was describing a family dealing with paralysis. That is the most important thing that a family struggling with a member’s disability can do: try to make life as normal as possible."

LEE AMAZED BY FANS’ TALENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:21 am

Rocker TOMMY LEE has been left stunned by the talents of his fans after he asked them to submit their song ideas for his new METHODS OF MAYHEM album.
The drummer felt sure that collaborating with devotees on the project would be a cool idea, but admits he had no clue that the material which flooded in via the web would be so good.
He explains, "We got spoken word from Prague, tweaked-out techno synthesisers from Osaka, even hand drums from India… Somebody sent in this beautiful piano part from Islamabad.
"There is a s**tload of talented people out there. It’s funny because a lot of them are weekend warriors. During the week they’re shirt-tuckers with nine-to-five jobs, and on the weekend they f**king rip, drinking beer and playing in some bar. There were some guitar players that blew me away." The results of the odd collaboration can be heard on Lee’s new Methods of Mayhem album A Public Disservice Announcement.
And the rocker is hoping those who contributed to the album will join him on tour: "I’d really like to reach out to those people when we play their city. I’d like them to come up and play the actual part that they played. It would be really cool."
