SILENT MOVIE STAR YEATS DEAD AT 99

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:28 pm

Silent movie era child star MARIE OSBORNE YEATS has died just six days after celebrating her 99th birthday.
The actress and Hollywood costume supervisor, nicknamed Baby Marie Osborne, became the youngest leading lady in Tinseltown when she starred in films like Little Mary Sunshine.
Yeats died at her home in San Clemente, California on 11 November (10).
She played a boy in her first film when director Henry King needed a kid for his 1915 movie The Maid of The Wind. He discovered her at the age of three.
Impressed with his find, King went on to shape her career, writing Little Mary Sunshine just for her.
Her success launched a range of Baby Marie dolls, but her career was short-lived - her final starring role came in 1919 in the comedy Miss Gingersnap.
She returned to Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s and occasionally worked as a stand-in actress for Ginger Rogers, Deanna Durbin and Betty Hutton.
But she found her true calling in the 1950s when she took a job as a costumer and worked on films like Spartacus, The Way We Were and Mame.
She also supervised Elizabeth Taylor’s wardrobe in Cleopatra.

GIBSON’S LAWYERS MOVE TO TAKE CUSTODY OF LUCIA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

MEL GIBSON’s lawyers have launched a bid to strip the star’s ex-girlfriend OKSANA GRIGORIEVA of her custody rights regarding their child, insisting she is not acting in the best interests of the child.
The former couple has been battling over little Lucia since splitting earlier this year (10) and Grigorieva spoke candidly about claims she was beaten by the actor on news show Larry King Live, which aired in the U.S. on Wednesday night (17Nov10).
The Russian singer opened up about the allegedly abusive relationship, claiming she feared for her life when her ex reportedly struck her during a heated argument in January (10).
Gibson’s legal advisors have pounced on the interview and are preparing to argue that her false and derogatory public comments about the actor suggest she’s only interested in damaging his reputation, reports TMZ.com.
His lawyers want Los Angeles court Judge Scott Gordon to grant Gibson custody of Lucia and only allow Grigorieva monitored visits during the day.
Judge Gordon had previously warned the Russian not to discuss the case with the press or risk losing custody of the tot.
A hearing has been set for Monday (22Nov10).

TWILIGHT BOSSES STEP UP SECURITY FOR LOUISIANA SHOOT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:25 pm

Bosses behind the TWILIGHT movies have stepped up security to protect stars ROBERT PATTINSON and KRISTEN STEWART at their shoot in Louisiana to make sure no over-zealous fans get near the set.
The actors are currently working on the two-part finale of the vampire series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, and filming was moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week (beg15Nov10).
The cast will be shooting scenes at the Raleigh Studios lot and producers have asked for a drastic increase in security to keep the actors safe.
Winston Achee, head of the facility’s security, tells Scene magazine, "We have increased our number of full-time security personnel from six to twenty-four in the last week. That’s just the beginning of the ramp-up. We’ll be adding two to four more every week. So, we’ll have on property at all times a forty-eight man force. We are not taking security on this property lightly.
"The security that the production has brought doubles our own force." And Achee warns any fans who attempt to get near the set will be severely punished, adding, "We have a law on the books, State criminal statute 1462.4. If you get charged with that offence, it’s a felony. This ain’t no misdemeanour. We will absolutely prosecute every person who trespasses. There have been six who trespassed before and they have all been caught…
"The property is covered with high definition security cameras… I used to run security for Elvis. I’m confident."

WATSON SCOLDED RADCLIFFE OVER KISSING COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

DANIEL RADCLIFFE faced an embarrassing red carpet showdown with his HARRY POTTER co-star EMMA WATSON after he gave away details of their kissing scene - the actress scolded him at the latest film’s London premiere.
The actor appeared on U.K. TV show Daybreak last week (ends14Nov10) to promote new movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and host Kate Garraway asked him about the moment he locked lips with his co-star onscreen.
The presenter jokingly described Watson as "a bit of an animal" and the comments were later wrongly attributed to Radcliffe.
And the star admits Watson gave him a tough time when they later met up on the red carpet.
He tells Reuters, "When you’re in this period of time when you do an interview and it’s aired the next day, your quotes come back at you so quickly. On Daybreak the other day… Kate Garraway was interviewing me… and she said ‘Oh the kiss with Emma in this film, she’s a bit of an animal, isn’t she?’ and I said ‘Yes’, and then it was like I’d said it.
"Emma hit me on the arm as soon as we came off the red carpet (at the film premiere) and said ‘What have you been saying to people about me?’."

HALL DEFENDS JAGGER BOOK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

JERRY HALL has defended her decision to life the lid on her marriage to SIR MICK JAGGER in a new autobiography, insisting she wrote the book so their children would know "they were born out of love".
The former supermodel dated Rolling Stones frontman Jagger for 13 years before their marriage in 1990 and they became parents to four children before the union was annulled in 1999.
Hall recently released a memoir, Jerry Hall: My Life in Pictures, which shows snaps from the couple’s courtship and marriage - and she’s pleased the book allows their kids to see their parents in happier times.
She tells British chat show Loose Women, "Mick and I are very friendly. We had four children together. When you’re divorced, the children don’t really see us together but I wanted them to see we had happy times and that they were born out of love and that there were a lot of fun times when we were together.
"I thought it was important. It’s quite an achievement to say nice things."

MIDDLETON VISITS WESTMINSTER ABBEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

PRINCE WILLIAM’s fiancee KATE MIDDLETON fuelled rumours the couple has chosen London’s Westminster Abbey as their wedding venue after she was seen paying a late night visit to the building on Wednesday (17Nov10).
The British royal announced his engagement on Tuesday (16Nov10), confirming the nuptials will take place in the U.K. capital in spring or summer next year (11).
The couple was rumoured to be deciding between two venues for the ceremony - St Paul’s Cathedral, where William’s parents, Charles and Diana, wed in 1981, and Westminster Abbey.
Middleton was spotted paying an out-of-hours visit to the abbey just a day after the engagement became public. She was without her partner, who has returned to Wales to continue work as a Royal Air Force search and rescue pilot.
A St James’s Palace spokesman has confirmed the couple has put forward "clear direction" on "dates and "venues" but they want to consult their families before making a final decision.
The representative says, "Miss Middleton paid a short, private visit to Westminster Abbey in order to be able to consider it as an option.
"The couple wish for a little more time to be able to consult family members and make a decision for themselves.
"All options are on the table and they’ve given us clear direction in terms of dates and venues. Now our job is to consult with the relevant parties - the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, the Middletons and other parties - and report back. We will give them the results of that consultation so they are in a position to make a decision." Westminster Abbey has been used as a venue for royal coronations since 1066, but a wedding at the venue will be full of sad memories for Prince William, as his mother’s funeral was held at the church in 1997.

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE EYE TV SERIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE are hoping to turn their latest album into a TV mini-series for the BBC.
The rockers were asked to make a movie and stage show from their last record, The Black Parade, but they refused because "it didn’t feel right".
But the band is now hoping its upcoming album, Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, will be transformed for the small screen in Britain.
Frontman Gerard Way says, "My dream is that it becomes a 10-part BBC mini-series. I would love that so much more than a movie. A lot of things that inspired me as a kid were those very things. I love Doctor Who.
"There were people who wanted to make a movie of The Black Parade. There was talk of Broadway and an animated film. But we pushed that stuff away as it didn’t feel right. It wasn’t a movie, it was an album."

MANGANIELLO TIRED OF CONSTANT GOSSIP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:10 pm

Actor JOE MANGANIELLO has dismissed reports he’s planning to elope with fiance AUDRA MARIE, branding the speculation "absurd".
The True Blood star and actress/model Marie announced their engagement last month (Oct10) after a whirlwind romance.
Online gossips speculated they were planning to elope after Manganiello stated he "wouldn’t rule out anything" about their wedding day, but he’s been quick to brush off the reports.
The actor admits he finds constant speculation about his personal life "ridiculous" - but cannot see a way to stop the rumours.
He tells Access Hollywood, "There are people out there that are ridiculous. They print articles without quotes. They print articles without fact checking and some of these people - they’ve actually started printing things that they feel I psychically believe, which, I don’t know how you can get away with that.
"That article about eloping? I never talked to anybody. This just pops up and it says - and I think the wording was: ‘The pressure of being engaged is getting to Joe. He secretly wishes to elope.’ Like how does somebody know what I secretly wish? It’s just kind of absurd, but what are you going to do?"
