CHER SHOWED TOO MUCH G-STRING AT HOLLYWOOD HAND AND FOOTPRINT CEREMONY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:22 pm

CHER suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during her Hollywood salute outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Thursday night (18Nov10) when fans and onlookers got a good glimpse of her turquoise underwear.
The pop superstar dressed quickly for the event and realised too late she wasn’t covered up - and had to borrow clothing from her assistant.
She explains, "I lost the slip to my dress but no one realised, so I wore her tanktop under my dress." But even that wasn’t enough.
Cher tells Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, "It was such a nightmare… Everyone kept standing behind me, reaching up under my skirt… and pulling down my little T-shirt." But at least she was wearing a G-string: "I had the presence of mind to put it on… I was so afraid it was gonna be worse."

LEMMY TAKES AIM AT INTERNET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

Rock veteran LEMMY has blasted the internet as a "terrible mistake" - and is adamant it should be "taken away" to stop criminals using it to "rob people".
The Motorhead frontman has previously voiced his disdain for many aspects of modern technology and has vowed not to join the digital age by buying a computer.
Now he has taken aim at the internet for fuelling crime and the trade in child pornography - insisting humans cannot be trusted to use the web responsibly.
He tells Metal Hammer magazine, "The more I see of the internet, the more I think it’s a terrible mistake. It’s the greatest communication tool ever, but the human race use it to rob people and for child porn, which is f**king savage, isn’t it? If that’s all we can do with this thing then maybe it should be taken away from us."

CHER DENIES SHE’S WORTH $600 MILLION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

Veteran entertainer CHER has laughed off reports her net worth stands at over $600 million (£400 million), insisting the figure is "nothing like that".
The Oscar and Grammy winner has built up a massive personal fortune from her singing and acting careers since shooting to fame in the 1960s as part of pop duo Sonny & Cher.
She has spent the past three years performing a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace hotel and casino, banking $60 million (£40 million) for the show, which will end in January (11).
But Cher is adamant speculation about her personal fortune is wholly inaccurate.
In an interview on U.S. news show 20/20, she says, "It doesn’t even resemble anything like that! I’m doing fine but it’s nothing like that! I came from a place where I had to wrap my shoes with rubber bands to keep the soles on! (But) I know how to appreciate it." The candid chat will air on Friday night (19Nov10).

HATHAWAY DREAMS UP PERFECT GLEE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

ANNE HATHAWAY is so desperate to land a guest role on hit TV musical GLEE, she has already come up with her ideal role and planned out the entire episode in her mind.
The Devil Wears Prada star admits she’s a huge fan of the Ryan Murphy creation and would jump at the chance to appear alongside its leading stars Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele.
And she’s worked out the whole storyline and the song she’d love to sing.
Hathaway says, "In my head I’ve written a part for me… That’s so arrogant and obnoxious! Ryan Murphy, like no one else wants to be on your show! "In my head, I’ve cast myself in Glee and I know what song I’m going to sing! I would wanna play Kurt’s long-lost aunt’s mother’s sister who is also gay, (who) comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, and I would sing You Are Not Alone from Steven Sondheim’s epic show Into the Woods." Hathaway isn’t the only celebrity fan of Glee - Britney Spears and Gwyneth Paltrow are also regular viewers and have both made cameos in the show. Paltrow received rave reviews for her portrayal of substitute teacher Holly Holliday in an episode which aired in America on Tuesday (16Nov10).

BRAND ASSAULT CASE CLOSED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

British comedian RUSSELL BRAND has escaped punishment over allegations he assaulted a photographer during an airport clash in September (10) - the charge has been dropped.
The Get Him to the Greek star was arrested and charged with battery after the run-in with an over-zealous snapper at Los Angeles International Airport, where he and his then-fiancee Katy Perry were due to board a flight.
Brand insisted he was defending the honour of the pop star as the paparazzo reportedly attempted to take a picture up her skirt.
And he was given a lucky break when he appeared in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday (17Nov10), when he was reprimanded by a judge before walking out a free man.
Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan tells E! News, "Mr. Brand and his lawyer attended a hearing on Wednesday. Following that meeting, we do not anticipate any further action will be necessary regarding this matter." The photographer involved in the allegations is due in court on Friday (19Nov10). He will also receive a stern warning from the judge, after which the case will be closed.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:40 pm

But Aguilera was in for an extra shock when a bare-chested male dancer burst out of the top of the cake, holding a red rose for the stunned star, who was left open-mouthed by the gesture.
Speaking about her upcoming birthday, Aguilera told DeGeneres, "You’re more comfortable in your own skin as a woman. You have a better idea of what you want and how to get it. At this time in my life, it’s a huge turning point, it’s a transitional stage and I’m ready. I’m ready." Aguilera split from her husband, Jordan Bratman, earlier this year (10).

RIHANNA WANTED TO RECORD WITH LAVIGNE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:38 pm

RIHANNA wanted to record a duet with AVRIL LAVIGNE for her new album LOUD, but had to settle for sampling one of the pop rocker’s tracks instead.
The Umbrella hitmaker uses a snippet of Lavigne’s I’m With You in a song called Cheers (Drink To That) on her new record.
Rihanna admits she was desperate to work with the Complicated star in the studio, but feared Lavigne’s vocals would make the new song sound too similar to her previous hit.
She tells MTV.com, "I asked whether she could appear, but when I heard the track it was already embedded in the music, so the producers already had it that way. But it would have sounded the same. I’m just glad that we could use her sample, because it became such a huge part of the instrumental that if it were not in the song, it would change the whole vibe of it.
"Cheers is one of my favourite songs. It makes you feel like celebrating. It gives you a great feeling inside like you want to go out and have a drink. People can’t wait for the weekend."

Earlier this week (begs15Nov10), the TV titan was rumoured to have taken a tour of a sprawling English manor-style estate in Alpine, New Jersey, which Forbes magazine editors named the priciest area to live in last year (09).
Winfrey was said to have demanded the house be vacated so she could peruse the five-storey property in peace, but she insists the reports are bogus.
In a post on her official Twitter.com page, she writes: "No truth to me looking for a house in Jersey. No idea who started that rumour. Been in Chicago all week working."

ITALIAN AUTHORITIES MUST PAY BACK SIR ELTON CONCERT COSTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:35 pm

Italian officials have been ordered to pay back almost $1 million (£667,000) to the European Union (E.U.) after using the money to fund a SIR ELTON JOHN concert.
Authorities used $983,000 (£655,000) from E.U. allowances to cover the singer’s fee for his performance at the Piedigrotta festival in Naples last year (Sep09).
The European Commission has ruled the spending was inappropriate as the public funds are reserved for long-term cultural projects, such as art exhibits or restoring buildings.
E.U. spokesman Ton van Lierop insists a "one-off rock concert" does not qualify, telling the Associated Press, "We have asked Italy for our money back." Festival organisers previously defended the move, insisting the gig promoted Naples and drew over 100,000 spectators to the city.

DAMON AND AFFLECK JOIN HUNGER RELIEF CAMPAIGN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:34 pm

GOOD WILL HUNTING actors MATT DAMON and BEN AFFLECK are the latest stars to back a charity campaign to help hungry Americans.
The longtime buddies have both filmed public service announcements (PSAs) for Feeding America, a non-profit organisation that aims to help impoverished citizens.
In Damon’s PSA, he introduces himself as Steve and admits he’s "lost a lot of sleep worrying" about feeding his family, before turning to another man and asking, "How’d I do, Steve?" The ‘real’ Steve admits the actor was "a little stiff", prompting Damon to reply, "What? C’mon… You know I have an Academy Award!" In a more hard-hitting clip, Affleck looks into the camera and says, "Do you realise that 49 million Americans struggle with hunger? That’s one out of every six Americans. These people are around us every day; they’re our friends, our co-workers, their kids go to school with our kids. Sometimes we’re not even aware that they’re struggling. This problem is closer than you think - so is the solution." Country music singer Tim McGraw, Beyonce and Rihanna have also volunteered their time for Feeding America.

But the star insists he’s "not done" singing and is eager to record another album in the future.
