TAKE THAT have sealed their reunion with ROBBIE WILLIAMS by rocketing to the top of the U.K. album charts with PROGRESS, making it the fastest-selling disc of the century.
The band’s first record as a five-piece since Williams quit the group in 1995 shot to the top of the countdown on Sunday (21Nov10).
Rihanna took second place with Loud, while Susan Boyle’s The Gift dropped into third.
Meanwhile, British boyband JLS topped the U.K. singles list with their Children In Need charity single Love You More.
Take That came in at number two with The Flood and Ellie Goulding jumped up 33 places to take third spot with a cover of Sir Elton John’s track Your Song.

JAMES BLUNT has resorted to a grassroots campaign to top the charts - he’s emailing friends and family begging them to buy his latest album.
The British singer personally sent the message to all his acquaintances in the hope of shifting more copies of Some Kind of Trouble, which was released earlier this month (Nov10).
The email, obtained by Britain’s The Sun newspaper, reads: "Dear friends and friends of friends, my third album is out today. It’s taken over a year to make and I promise it’s got some really great songs on it.
"With a slightly cynical U.K. media, I am totally dependent on word of mouth, so I hope you don’t mind me emailing you. You can buy it most easily at (supermarket) Tesco. Or order it online."

WILL SMITH’s son is set to star in moviemaker M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN’s new movie.
The Sixth Sense director is reportedly developing his new sci-fi film 1000 A.E. for The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith.
The 12 year old says, "We’re reading the script right now. I don’t want to give it away because that wouldn’t be right, but it’s set in the future and it’s about a journey." The young star also tells EW.com he’s in talks for a Karate Kid sequel: "They’re (producers) talking about it."

KATY PERRY has broken her silence about her Photoshopped breast reduction, revealing she demanded marketing bosses at VH1 tone down the poster for her upcoming Divas Salute The Troops U.S. TV special.
Reports suggested Perry’s aides asked for her boobs to be photoshopped for the patriotic poster, but Perry took to Twitter.com to reveal the truth.
She wrote, "I was the one who asked VH1 to tone down my DIGITALIZED image on the poster, particularly the size of my chest… I don’t have handlers… but someone @VH1 offices is a gossipmonger & thought they could use a little extra press planting the story."

MILEY CYRUS has reportedly scrapped plans to sing her cover of POISON hit EVERY ROSE HAS ITS THORN at Sunday night’s (21Nov10) American Music Awards after frontman BRET MICHAELS was accused of having an affair with her mother.
The teen sensation’s father Billy Ray filed for divorce from Tish last month (Oct10), citing irreconcilable differences.
Reports suggested family friend Michaels had caused the shock split after allegedly having a fling with Tish around the time he re-recorded Every Rose Has Its Thorn with Miley.
Michaels has blasted the affair rumours, but the Hannah Montana star is still reeling from the allegations and she has decided against performing the track, according to TMZ.com.
Instead, Miley will perform Love and Forgiveness at the awards show, which will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday night (21Nov10).

JAY-Z has opened up for the first time about the day he shot his older brother, revealing he felt his life was "over" even though he was still just a boy.
Jay-Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, grew up in a tough housing project in Brooklyn, New York and was just 12 when he pulled the trigger on his sibling Eric.
The rapper was furious after discovering his brother, who was addicted to crack cocaine at the time, had stolen his ring - so he found a gun and decided to take revenge.
But he admits he was "terrified" after the shooting - and feared he would be locked up for life.
He tells Britain’s Guardian Weekend magazine, "I went to someone’s crib, someone’s house, and got (a gun). Guns were everywhere. You didn’t have to go far to get one. Just everywhere…
"I thought my life was over (after the shooting). I thought I’d go to jail for ever. It was terrible. I was a boy, a child. I was terrified." Eric, who is now clean, didn’t press charges and offered Carter an apology from his hospital bed after the shooting.

HELENA BONHAM CARTER is taking time away from Hollywood to learn how to be a better mum.
The Howards End star, who is married to moviemaker Tim Burton, is taking parenting lessons so she can perfect her mothering skills around kids Billy, seven, and two-year-old Nell.
She tells Eonline.com, "I’m not working right now. I need to be a mom. It’s much harder being a mom than an actress.
"I’m taking parenting classes. You know, no one taught me what to do… They’re teaching me some really interesting things, like it’s not your job to know everything… You’ve got to get them (kids) to think for themselves."

HARRY POTTER has worked its magic on the U.S. box office chart once again, opening with a spell-binding gross of $125.1 million (£83.4 million).
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 1, scored the franchise’s best debut to date, ahead of 2005’s Goblet of Fire, which took $102.7 million (£68.47 million) in its first weekend of release.
The seventh Potter film raked in a whopping $24 million (£16 million) from midnight showings alone when it opened across America on Thursday night (18Nov10).
The stellar figures toppled animated hit Megamind from number one - the Brad Pitt and Will Ferrell-voiced film slips to two with $16.2 million (£10.8 million), while Denzel Washington’s Unstoppable takes third place with $13.1 million (£8.73 million).

Actor JAKE GYLLENHAAL had an early run in with the law as a young teenager after he was dared to steal a pair of swimming trunks and walk out of the store wearing nothing but the skimpy pants.
The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time star admits he was just 16 when he rose to the "exciting" challenge, despite the chance of being arrested for the stunt.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I was with my best friend at the time and he would always dare me to do things - I guess my natural sense of performance would come out. We were in the Beverly Center just near Hollywood and walked by the Speedo store, and he said, ‘I dare you to go in there, put on a Speedo in the dressing room and walk out to see if they follow you. No clothes.’ "I was tackled by security guards as the alarm went off, but I just kept walking and walking, right down through the marble hall. It was pretty exciting."

SCARLETT JOHANSSON is set to tackle zombies in a new adaptation of JANE AUSTEN classic PRIDE AND PREJUDICE after NATALIE PORTMAN dropped out of the movie, according to a U.K. report.
Portman originally landed the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a new film based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s book which adds flesh-eating monsters to Austin’s period novel.
But the actress has quit the film - and Johansson is in talks to take over as Bennet, who continues her quest for love amid a deadly battle with bloodthirsty zombies, according to Britain’s Sunday Express.
A source tells the publication, "Natalie Portman was going to be playing the part but has left the project and now Scarlett is in talks." Austen’s classic novel was previously revived in a 2005 version starring Keira Knightley, who won an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the leading lady.

LINDSAY LOHAN’s representative has dismissed reports she was dropped from her role in an upcoming LINDA LOVELACE biopic, insisting the decision for the actress to leave the project was "mutual".
Director Matthew Wilder hired the Mean Girls star to play the troubled porn legend in Inferno earlier this year (10), but production was pushed back when Lohan was jailed for breaching her probation over the summer (10).
Shooting was scheduled to begin this month (Nov10) but filming on the movie stalled again when Lohan was ordered to continue receiving treatment at California’s Betty Ford Clinic until January (11).
Wilder had promised to support his leading star as she conquered her demons, but he has now dropped Lohan from the project.
He tells E! News, "We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan. We are currently in negotiations (with another actress) and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard.
"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support. Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her - and some other issues - have made it impossible for us to go forward." But Lohan’s spokesperson has brushed off claims the actress was fired from the movie, insisting the decision was "mutual" so she could continue her treatment.
The rep says, "Lindsay is dedicated to her recovery and together they decided to move forward without her. (It was) mutual." Malin Akerman has been tipped to replace Lohan.

HARRISON FORD was honoured for his contribution to movies at a glitzy gala in California on Friday (19Nov10).
The Indiana Jones star was handed the prestigious Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film award.
Douglas presented Ford with the trophy during the special ceremony, and the star’s new wife Calista Flockhart looked on from the audience as he accepted his prize.
Last year’s (09) recipient of the award was director Quentin Tarantino.

TERI HATCHER has quit her starring role on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, according to a U.K. report.
The actress has played Susan Mayer in all seven series of the drama since it hit screens in the U.S. in 2004.
But Hatcher has reportedly told executives at America’s ABC network the next season will be her last, so she can work on a new show.
A source tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "Teri has given in her notice and is making active preparations to move on.
"She has another production deal in the pipeline and she is in the early stages of developing a sitcom that she wants to start work on immediately after she finishes Desperate Housewives - she wants a new show in time for the mid-January pilot season." The publication also suggests Hatcher’s co-star Felicity Huffman is planning to leave her role as Lynette Scavo after season eight.
The report continues, "ABC hasn’t announced its schedule yet because the future of the series is up in the air. Some of the crew are disappointed in Teri, they feel like she is abandoning the show that revived her career.
"Desperate Housewives can’t really continue without Teri or Felicity because they need the original stars to pull in the ratings. She (Hatcher) says she had an amazing run on the show but feels it is time to move on to a project that she has more control over." A spokesperson for ABC says, "We are working on the next season at the moment and we haven’t got anything to say about the one after."

Actress KATE WINSLET has split from her model boyfriend LOUIS DOWLER after just four months of dating, according to a U.K. report.
The Titanic star announced her separation from Sam Mendes, her husband of seven years, in March (10), and she was subsequently linked to British model Dowler.
They were spotted together in London over the summer (10) and they made their first public appearance as a couple in September (10) at a Vanity Fair photography exhibition in Spain.
But the relationship has now ended as Winslet wants to focus on her movie career and two young children, Mia and Joe, according to Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "Louis was just the tonic Kate needed after her painful split from Sam and they had a wonderful time. However, they have realised their relationship isn’t working and Kate needs space to be on her own.
"She is very grateful to Louis for helping her pick her life back up after her marriage ended and they had a lot of fun together, but she felt it had come to an end and wants to concentrate on her career and children." Dowler has refused to comment on the split reports, telling the tabloid, "Unfortunately, I don’t talk about my private life."

HEY JUDE is the most popular BEATLES song with internet fans - it has become the Fab Four’s most downloaded track during the band’s first week on iTunes.
After lengthy negotiations with staff at record label EMI, Apple chiefs announced on Tuesday (16Nov10) that the group’s music would be available to download.
Fans flocked to buy the tracks - and figures show the 1968 anthem, written by John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney, is the most downloaded since they were put on sale.
The second highest seller is Twist and Shout, with Let It Be in third.

R&B star FAITH EVANS fears police will never solve her former husband NOTORIOUS B.I.G.’s murder mystery, because they’ve struggled to make any progress in the 13 years since his death.
The hip-hop star, real name Christopher Wallace, was gunned down in Los Angeles in March, 1997. An investigation was launched immediately after the fatal shooting but the matter remains unsolved.
Various conspiracy theories have linked his death to the East Coast/West Coast rap rivalry involving former Death Row Records mogul Marion ‘Suge’ Knight and his top artist Tupac Shakur, who was shot and killed less than a year before Biggie’s tragedy (96).
Evans has long maintained her own theories about the night she lost her husband, but admits she’s not holding out hope for the case to be solved by investigators.
She says, "The family - we have an idea what happened. We don’t know who pulled the trigger but we have an idea what went on.
"It’s not something I would speak on because it’s still a pending case, so that wouldn’t be smart at all. But we have an idea, though we don’t know if it will ever be solved in the judicial system."

JLS singer ORITSE WILLIAMS was rushed to hospital during rehearsals for the band’s upcoming tour after a freak accident onstage left him with a gaping hand wound.
The boyband is currently preparing for a series of shows in their native U.K., but a recent practise session came to a halt when glass fell from the ceiling of the rehearsal venue and left Williams in need of urgent medical treatment.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital, where medics stitched up his hand.
He tells Britain’s Daily Star Sunday, "We were rehearsing for the tour and some glass fell down and pierced my hand. It was bleeding so bad I had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance.
"I’m not going lie - I was so scared. My hand was covered in blood and I couldn’t really tell how much damage it had done. I was looking at the glass sticking out of my hand but I didn’t want to pull it out in case I made it worse. I was lucky in the end because I only needed a few stitches."

SIMON COWELL’s fiancee MEZHGAN HUSSAINY has dismissed ongoing reports the couple has split, insisting the claims are "nonsense".
The music mogul proposed to the make-up artist earlier this year (10) and rumours were rife they would wed within months.
But Cowell has spent much of 2010 in the U.K. filming his reality show The X Factor, while Hussainy has been working in Los Angeles, prompting many to speculate the romance had come to an end.
However, the brunette beauty is adamant she’s still engaged to Cowell and reveals the lovers speak on the phone up to five times a day.
Hussainy tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "I still love him and he says he still loves me and we are still engaged - as far as I know.
"We’ve been apart for a while. Of course I miss him. It’s not easy being apart and even one day apart is hard when you are in love. But he’s got his work in England and I’ve got my work here in Los Angeles.
"I don’t know where these stories are coming from. It’s as if when you’re engaged you can’t spend a moment apart or people think you’ve broken up.
"That’s nonsense. We are still in love and still planning on getting married. I am still living here as you can see. I miss Simon but we speak on the phone three, four, five times a day."
