HATHAWAY WAITING FOR PERFECT BROADWAY MUSICAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:21 am

Hollywood actress ANNE HATHAWAY has urged Broadway playwrights to produce musicals with stronger storylines because she’s desperate to challenge both her acting and singing skills onstage.
The Devil Wears Prada star has long harboured dreams of appearing on the New York stage and she’s always on the look out for the opportunity to make her big debut.
But Hathaway admits she’s still waiting for the perfect role because she’s just not impressed with the offers that have been rolling in.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I would do a musical on Broadway in an absolute heartbeat and I’m constantly looking for the opportunities to do it.
"I don’t mean to slam musicals, but the problem is that, a lot of times, in the classic shows, the songs are heavenly but the book doesn’t offer the acting challenge that you hope."

BROOKS EMBARRASSED AFTER DINNER WITH WYNN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:01 am

Country icon GARTH BROOKS was left red-faced following a recent meal with Las Vegas casino boss STEVE WYNN - after realising a group of autograph hunters were only interested in meeting the entertainment mogul.
The singer/songwriter has become good pals with Wynn in recent years and signed a five-year concert deal with the real estate developer’s Encore Hotel and Casino venue last December (09).
But dinner with Wynn became a big embarrassment for Brooks last month (Oct10) when they were approached by a trio of female fans.
Brooks recalls, "About a month ago, we were having dinner and while he’s talking to me, these three ladies come over to the table to get an autograph. I stand up, they were standing behind Steve and he didn’t see them, so I touch his hand, ‘Excuse me’, and they say, ‘Can I have your autograph?’ and Steve just goes off on one, ‘We’re trying to have dinner here!’ "I’m panicking, I didn’t know what to do and I turned to the ladies and said, ‘I’m sorry, if you’re still here when it’s over I’ll come over and sign an autograph’. They went off and everyone was embarrassed." The Lost In You star tried to make amends with the ladies for the snub and went over to their table after dinner to apologise. But he soon realised the women had no idea who he was.
He says, "As I’m walking towards their table, there was a look on their face I’d never seen before and just as I get to their table, it hits me and I say, ‘You weren’t asking for my autograph, were you?’ Steve Wynn’s the most popular guy on the planet! They thought I was his security. And then suddenly these nice people were like, ‘Come on, we’ll take a picture with you.’"

ROWETTA SPEAKS OUT ABOUT ‘SEX MAD’ RYDER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:58 am

Former HAPPY MONDAYS star ROWETTA has lifted the lid on her relationship with bandmate SHAUN RYDER - she alleges the singer was "sex mad" and even used a prostitute during their romance.
The pair dated during the group’s 1990s heyday but the relationship only last six months because of Ryder’s wild ways.
Rowetta tells Britain’s News of the World, "Shaun was sex mad. He couldn’t cope without it. But I couldn’t be jealous - I knew what he was like." She claims Ryder regularly slept with female fans when the band was on tour - and alleges he even hired a prostitute while they were dating.
The star adds, "I wasn’t in the mood for sex so he picked a number out of a newspaper and he said he was ringing a prostitute. I thought he was joking. But later there was a knock on the door and she was stood there in a mac with nothing underneath. I didn’t stick around to see them together.
"It was a big suite and I went to another room while they had sex. Luckily we always had the telly on so I couldn’t hear anything. I didn’t think it was weird. I wanted to keep him happy. I was in love with him."

BROOK LINKED TO CHARLIE’S ANGELS REMAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:55 am

British model/actress KELLY BROOK has reportedly been lined up to star in a U.S. TV remake of CHARLIE’S ANGELS.
Plans are afoot to bring back the iconic show and producers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, who previously worked with Brook on hit series Smallville, are keen for the busty beauty to take on a leading role.
A source tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror, "Al and Miles know Kelly from their time on Smallville and they think she is a star in the making.
"Rather than cast established stars, producers want to find less well-known actresses and turn them into household names - just like they did in the 1970s with Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith.
"Kelly fits the bill. She’s gorgeous, feisty, athletic, a good actress and - most importantly - the producers think American viewers will love her."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

JAKE GYLLENHAAL is planning a 30th birthday to remember - he’s jetting off to the Arctic to face his fear of freezing temperatures and frightening mammals.

But Gyllenhaal admits there’s another reason behind the icy excursion.
He tells the New York Daily News, "The only reason I’m doing it is I wanted to do something that absolutely terrified me - killer whales and walruses and freezing cold water? That seems absolutely terrifying." And the actor insists he’s not worried about reaching the landmark age after a chat with his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal.
He says, "I was talking to my sister the other day about being 30 and celebrating the life you’ve had up to this point. I feel there’s a massive sort of sea change coming in myself and I’m psyched."

THOMAS BLASTS U.K. GOVERNMENT FOR AMERICAN MOVIE TAX BREAKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

Oscar-winning British producer JEREMY THOMAS has criticised the U.K. government for introducing tax breaks on American movies shot in the country - while he had to head abroad to make A DANGEROUS METHOD.
The Last Emperor moviemaker is angered by the rules, which allow films with American studio backing a 20 per cent tax break in the U.K.
He was forced to move shooting for his new movie A Dangerous Method, starring Keira Knightley, from Britain to Germany, with post-production in Canada - and Thomas is annoyed that meant no U.K. staff could be involved in the making of the film.
Thomas wants more U.K. movies to be shot at British facilities, such as the iconic Pinewood Studios, which has previously acted as a base for the James Bond and Carry On franchises.
He tells Britain’s Observer newspaper, "These places are full up with films from the United States.
"Films made with American studio finance are given a 20 per cent tax break. But if a British film has to go into partnership with, say, a French company, in order to get made, it immediately becomes ineligible for any tax breaks here. So you have to go abroad.
"Everything that I need is here in England, but I had to go and make it overseas. We filmed nothing here (U.K.) and all the post-production has had to be done in Canada. So there is no work for technical people here as a result.
"Governments seem frightened of the film business, perhaps because it is about ideas. Film is very powerful, so they are fearful."

POULTER INJURED ON DAY OFF FROM DURING NARNIA SHOOT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

Teen actor WILL POULTER put the filming of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER in jeopardy - he needed stitches after he was struck on the head by a surfboard on his day off.
The Son of Rambow star, 17, shot the upcoming movie in Australia, and headed to a beach in Queensland during a break in his filming schedule.
But his surfing trip soon turned into a disaster.
He tells Britain’s Sunday Mail, "I got hit by a surfboard and the fin cut open my head. It was terrifying because there was blood everywhere. Luckily, the cut only needed six stitches.
"But when I called Michael Apted, the director, he freaked out. He thought the cut might be on my forehead or the front of my face but luckily it was at the back and covered by hair." And Poulter wasn’t the only one who suffered during the cast’s time in Australia - his co-star Georgie Henley fainted after shooting an underwater scene.
She adds, "There was a panic. They had to get oxygen for me. In hospital they checked I hadn’t swallowed any water or anything."

JAMES’ EX WINS HOLIDAY VISITATION WITH SUNNY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

JESSE JAMES will be spending America’s upcoming Thanksgiving away from his youngest daughter SUNNY - a judge has granted his ex-wife visitation with the child on all major holidays.
The TV mechanic was given custody of the six year old when porn star Janine Lindemulder was jailed on tax evasion charges in 2009.
But she has been battling to spend more time with their daughter since her release and stepped up her efforts earlier this year (10) when James’ marriage to actress Sandra Bullock fell apart.
And Lindemulder was handed a small victory in her ongoing custody fight on Friday (19Nov10) when a judge ruled in her favour - giving her access to Sunny on the main U.S. holidays, including Thursday’s (25Nov10) Thanksgiving celebrations.
The judge also submitted the little girl to psychological tests to determine "if there’s a problem of Jesse interfering in the relationship between Janine and Sunny", according to Eonline.com.
The psychologist will then decide whether the visitation schedule needs re-evaluation.

He tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror, "I had a great dialect coach who came to my house in Los Angeles every day.
"I’m happy with the way it turned out but it was intimidating doing it in front of Ray. You can’t get more Cockney than him. He’s a sweetheart and we do get on - but I do find him a bit scary."

HATHAWAY IS A ROYAL LAUGH AS MIDDLETON IN ENGAGEMENT SPOOF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:22 am

ANNE HATHAWAY stepped into the shoes of princess-to-be KATE MIDDLETON this weekend (20Nov10) when she joined ANDY SAMBERG for a foul-mouthed spoof about the engagement of PRINCE WILLIAM on hit U.S. comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.
The Hollywood actress donned a cheap copy of Middleton’s sapphire blue engagement dress to portray the British royal’s new fiancee, opposite Samberg as William, during a raucous sketch on Saturday’s (20Nov10) episode.
The segment saw William introduce her to his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip - played by Frank Armisen and Bill Hader, respectively.
During the sketch, Middleton told the monarch, "I love your grandson very much and I’m honoured to join the Windsor family." But the royals turned on Middleton as soon as William left the room and adopted East London Cockney accents as they quizzed the brunette beauty about her real intentions and accused her of wanting a piece of the "palace action".
Armisen, as the Queen, said, "You think you can just show up and take over and do a bit of Queening?" But it was Hader’s Prince Phillip impersonation which had Hathaway and viewers alike gaping in awe at his crass comments as he made references to William’s mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales; Grace Kelly, the late Princess of Monaco; and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson, the controversial ex-wife of Prince Andrew.
Phillip told Hathaway’s Middleton, "When it comes to being a wife, when you’re out there waving to a parade, you be Princess Di, you be Princess Grace. But in the bedroom think Fergie." Hathaway also drew laughs in a sketch about fellow actress Katie Holmes, impersonating the Batman Begins star as she was questioned about everything from her transition from TV to Hollywood, her daughter Suri’s fashion sense and her thoughts on Scientology.
