British rocker DAVE STEWART has launched a drunken broadside against music industry bosses, accusing them of ruining young talent in a desperate bid to make money.
The former Eurythmics star was jetlagged and boozing as he watched the American Music Awards on TV on Sunday night (21Nov10), and he became infuriated with the show, branding it "c**p".
He blasted Rihanna for singing "ridiculous songs", slammed the "spiralling" standards of young modern acts, and insisted the show reminded him "of when I injected amphetamines in my tearduct".
And the rocker now wants to launch his own TV music programme in the U.S. to showcase new talent and pay tribute to legendary artists.
In a prolonged rant on his Twitter.com blog, Stewart writes, "We used to have amazing artists now it’s f**king ridiculous, record labels are to blame… Rihanna I’m sure you could be interesting but what the f**k are you doing, who the hell is writing these ridiculous songs… I suppose I’m drunk and shouldn’t be watching AMAs.
"What the f**k has happened, we need artists directly communicating with their fans, get rid of the media companies f**king it up, greedy pigs… I had to stop watching as it reminded me of when I injected amphetamines in my tearduct.
"I love new young artists with something to say, in any style of music. What would Lennon think if he was alive, he would throw up… F**king TV crap, everyone is in a panic (partly by the way is because 90 per cent of music is now downloaded for free) so spiralling downwards… OK I’m going to try (to) get a music TV show on USA TV network, amazing legend artists and new artists each week, I will choose and be host. I can’t just complain and not do anything so I need to get (a) TV show…

The album JOHN LENNON autographed for his killer MARK CHAPMAN on the day he was murdered is up for sale.
The current owner has decided to sell the signed Double Fantasy record for a staggering $850,000 (£567,000) after receiving death threats since purchasing the LP.
Autograph dealer Gary Zimet tells the New York Post’s Page Six column, "The album is the most extraordinary artifact in rock ‘n’ roll history. It has Lennon’s signature on the cover and Chapman’s forensically enhanced finger prints on the sleeve. There are evidence markings from the NYPD.
"I originally sold it in 1999, but it has come back up for resale. The current owner doesn’t want to be named because he received death threats." The rocker signed the record for Chapman outside his New York City apartment building on 8 December, 1980. He was shot dead by Chapman when he returned five hours later.
The album was later discovered near the murder scene by a maintenance man and handed over to cops.

Director DEREK CIANFRANCE is confident MICHELLE WILLIAMS will stun fans with her forthcoming MARILYN MONROE biopic - because the actress often reminded him of the sultry star while shooting BLUE VALENTINE.
Williams is currently working on upcoming drama My Week With Marilyn, about the making of the blonde bombshell’s 1957 movie The Prince and the Showgirl.
And Cianfrance, who directed Williams in Blue Valentine, is convinced the Oscar-nominee will do the role justice - because she channelled Monroe while shooting sex scenes with actor Ryan Gosling in their movie.
He tells OKMagazine.com, "There’s scenes in this film (where) Ryan and her were on the floor of this bathroom doing this sexual scene and I (was) like, ‘She looks just like Marilyn Monroe here.’ She’ll be incredible. She’s got something inside of her that has the same power (as Marilyn Monroe)."

Former CHEERS star GEORGE WENDT still misses working on the hit TV show even though 17 years have passed since the series came to an end.
Wendt played beer-loving Norm Peterson in all 275 episodes of the programme between 1982 and 1993, later reviving his role in a reunion episode of Cheers spin-off Frasier.
The actor admits he misses his days on Cheers "terribly" and even has dreams about being back on set.
He tells the New York Post, "Y’know, I dream about Cheers. Like when you go on a diet and you dream of pizza. I always think of those wonderful years. I loved working on it. Not long ago I had a great dream of laughing in rehearsal - but when I woke up there was no show.
"If I channel surf and it’s on TV, I watch. I miss it terribly. My dad keeps a bunch of the old tapes, but I don’t watch them. I don’t really care to see those oldies over and over." And Wendt takes some comfort from keeping in touch with his former co-stars Kelsey Grammer and Ted Danson.
He adds, "I stay in touch with the cast. Just saw Kelsey in the Broadway show, La Cage. It was awesome. Ted Danson’s in Alaska doing a whale movie. I talk to them all."

Actor/musician VINCENT GALLO is pleading with bosses at Twitter.com to remove accounts used by pranksters to pose as celebrities.
The Brown Bunny filmmaker, who does not use Twitter, has had two pages set up by impersonators, who have attracted nearly 16,000 followers with strange messages, including digs at stars including Sarah Silverman, Kanye West and Milla Jovovich.
Gallo has also been bombarded with maple syrup at his concerts after a Twitter prankster promised fans backstage passes if they brought him bottles of the sauce.
But he has failed to convince Twitter bosses to remove the accounts.
He tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "At a farmers’ market, somebody was selling organic maple syrup and was all excited that I was there… I didn’t know what this guy was saying about maple syrup…
"It is embarrassing having anyone believe I would sign up for and communicate with Twitter."

British actor NIGEL HAVERS has walked out of the Australian jungle after quitting U.K. reality TV show I’M A CELEBRITY… GET ME OUT OF HERE! The veteran star has been camping with former Bond girl Britt Ekland, rocker Shaun Ryder and Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie as part of the series, which sees stars put to the test in trying tasks.
Havers threatened to quit in an episode screened on Sunday (21Nov10) after he was ordered to compete in a challenge in which the contestants received electric shocks.
After producers convinced him to continue on the programme, Havers gamely agreed to soldier on - but he eventually walked out of camp on Monday (22Nov10) and is now set to return to Britain.
In a statement posted on the show’s official website, a spokesman says, "We can confirm that Nigel Havers has hung up his boots and left the jungle."

Executives at Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana are facing trial over allegations the company has failed to pay more than a billion dollars in taxes.
Officials in Italy have been investigating the stylish firm, set up by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in 1985, over accusations of tax evasion amounting to up to $1.4 billion.
Prosecutors claim executives set up a company in Luxembourg which was given control of the group’s brands to allegedly avoid paying Italian taxes.
Officials have now called for the case to go to trial, according to ANSA.

Director LARRY COHEN paid an emotional tribute to his sister, publicist RONNI CHASEN, at her star-studded memorial service on Sunday (21Nov10).
The public relations mogul was shot multiple times while driving her Mercedes-Benz car through Los Angeles on her way home from the premiere of Cher and Christina Aguilera’s new film Burlesque last week (16Nov10).
Family, friends and clients of Chasen, including T-Bone Burnett, Diane Warren and Hans Zimmer, turned out for her funeral at Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City, California on Sunday, and Cohen remembered his sibling in a moving eulogy.
He told the mourners how they played together as children and he often carried his sister home from the movie theatre on his back, ending the speech by calling Chasen "my little companion".
Chasen’s client and longtime friend Zimmer also paid tribute to the PR ace and emotionally declared: "My heart is broken." She was later buried in a private service in front of family and close friends.
Police so far have no leads as they investigate Chasen’s death, and rewards totalling $125,000 (£83,300) have been offered for information leading to the killer’s conviction.

A model who was with CHARLIE SHEEN when he reportedly trashed a New York hotel room has accused the star of placing his hands around her throat during the incident.
Capri Anderson has spoken publicly for the first time since the Two and a Half Men actor hit the headlines last month (Oct10) over reports he ransacked his suite during a night of passion with the adult actress.
Sheen maintains speculation about the incident has been blown out of proportion - but Anderson admits she was terrified of the star after he allegedly grabbed her by the neck.
In a pre-recorded interview with ABC News, she says, "He was, from the beginning of the night, very loud and he had no hesitations when it came to using derogatory language or cuss words. But it wasn’t until he put his hands around my neck that I really thought to myself, ‘You have gotten yourself a bad, bad situation.’ "It’s not right to hurt people. It’s not right to scare people. It’s not right to carry on with such disregard for the people around you." The interview is due to air in the U.S. on Monday (22Nov10).

EVA LONGORIA PARKER is facing more woes following her split from husband TONY PARKER - the basketball star has been accused of sending racy text messages to a British model behind the actress’ back.
The Desperate Housewives star filed divorce papers last week (ends21Nov10) citing "irreconcilable differences" amid allegations the sportsman cheated on her with another woman.
Parker filed his own papers in Texas on Friday (19Nov10) "because of discord or conflict of personalities" within the marriage.
But the pair has been rocked by further controversy after 19-year-old Sophia Egeler alleged Parker pursued her with racy messages after they met at an Ultimate Fighting show at the O2 Arena in London.
Egeler tells Britain’s The Sun, "From the minute he met me he was trying it on. I had no idea he was Eva Longoria’s husband. He would not take no for an answer and was telling me how much he liked me." She also claims the Frenchman once tried to get her to spend the night with him after they partied at a nightclub in the British capital, adding: "I decided at 1am I wanted to leave but Parker followed me into the street. He begged me to come back to a house he claimed was his. I said no… When I heard (about his marriage split) I couldn’t believe it. How stupid is he to risk everything with her?" Egeler also alleges Parker sent her steamy messages, including a photo of his bare chest.

KELLY OSBOURNE was so depressed about her fluctuating weight she considered undergoing a drastic gastric band operation to slim down.
The reality TV star has lost 48 pounds (21.7 kilograms) following her stint on TV talent show Dancing With The Stars last year (09) and was rumoured to have shed the weight with the help of a surgeon.
Osbourne admits she was tempted to have the operation to reduce the size of her stomach but insists she was too "terrified" to have a gastric band fitted.
She tells British newsman Piers Morgan, "I got really fat, because I stopped doing drugs. I had just gotten out of rehab and I had been living in America again…
"I went to a doctor about having a gastric band because that is what my mum did and I asked my mum to take me. I was just too terrified to do it. I thought it would make me miserable if I did have it because you can’t eat anything, five bites and then you are full. Where’s the fun in that? It’s boring."

KELLY OSBOURNE blames herself for OZZY OSBOURNE’s near-fatal quad bike accident in England in 2003 - because he was only in the country so he could promote their duet, CHANGES.
The former Black Sabbath frontman stopped breathing and went into a coma after crashing the vehicle on his British country estate while his wife, Sharon, was battling cancer in America.
And Kelly admits she still feels responsible for the crash, because her dad didn’t want to leave the family’s Los Angeles base to promote their father/daughter collaboration in the U.K.
She tells British broadcaster Piers Morgan, "I had a mum in the hospital in L.A. and a dad in hospital in London… God that was hard. It was hard enough facing losing my mum and then facing losing my dad as well all in the same time.
"I blamed myself because I was, like, ‘If I hadn’t done the single with my dad, my dad wouldn’t have been here promoting it. He didn’t even want to promote it anyway and then he wouldn’t have had the accident and it’s all my fault.’ "My dad was in a coma for two weeks and I had to sign this piece of paper that said, basically, you can do what you want to him and it’s OK if he dies and I didn’t want to sign it… it was just horrible. I’m just so glad that time of our lives is done."

Kind-hearted actress ANGELINA JOLIE has pledged to help victims of severe flooding near her Italian home.
The Tomb Raider star, who owns a house in Italy’s north-east Veneto region with partner Brad Pitt, has reportedly donated cash after the area suffered rising water levels following a spate of heavy rains.
Several residents have been forced to abandon their home, while others had to be rescued after becoming trapped by the floods.
And Jolie has also offered to head fundraising appeals to help boost efforts to overcome the floods, reports Britain’s The Daily Telegraph.

Welsh singer DUFFY almost quit the music industry after releasing her debut album - because life had become "so complicated" following her speedy rise to stardom.
The 26 year old catapulted into the spotlight after Rockferry hit stores in 2008, leading to her winning a BRIT award last year (09).
Duffy struggled to deal with fame and came close to turning her back on her career, but she decided instead to make a comeback after a short hiatus.

Embattled rapper DMX regrets violating his probation and has vowed to overcome his latest troubles to get his career back on track.
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, faces another eight months behind bars after he was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday (18Nov10) for allegedly breaking the terms of his parole.
He is currently being held without bail at Lower Buckeye Jail in Mariciopa County and will go before a judge this week (begs22Nov10) to answer claims he used cocaine, drove on a suspended licence and failed to check in with his probation officer.
DMX regrets gaining permission to leave a rehabilitation programme early so he could perform at a recent gig - because drinking liquor at the show sent him on a downward spiral.
He tells the Fox 10 News station, "I shouldn’t have done it. I wasn’t done with the programme. They let me out to do the show. I should have protected myself better." But DMX, who has been in and out of prison all year (10), is determined to stay on the right side of the law once he deals with the latest incident - because he’s "sick" of prison life and is dreading spending his upcoming 40th birthday (18Dec10) incarcerated.
He says, "(I’m) sick, sick, a birthday coming up, you know. I’ve done everything they have asked me to do. Completed programs, paid fines, community service, I did all that.
"It’s rare that I get fair treatment… It’s love or hate. I’m gonna get through this." And he’s grateful for the unwavering support he’s received from fans as he continues his battle for sobriety: "Thank you for the support and love, I won’t let you down."

Legendary comedian/actor PETER SELLERS tried to charm actress BRITT EKLAND by offering her marijuana on their first date - but she passed out.
The former Bond girl, who was married to Sellers for four years until 1968, first met the funnyman at The Dorchester Hotel in London, where they were both staying.
Pink Panther star Sellers tried to woo Ekland by offering her drugs on their first outing, but she soon fell asleep.
The Swedish star, who is taking part in U.K. reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, recalled to her fellow contestants on the series, "He came to the front of the hotel and drove us to Leicester Square and we went to see a film called The Pink Panther, which he was in, and I was very impressed because we didn’t have to pay for it. It was fantastically funny.
"Then we went back to his hotel and his suite and everyone smoked in those days and he said, ‘Do you smoke?’ and I said yes and I’m puffing away on a cigarette. And he said ‘Have you ever smoked one of these?’ and it was marijuana.
"I knew nothing about drugs, I hadn’t seen anything about drugs in Sweden. So I smoked it and held it and I don’t remember anything more." But Sellers showed his romantic side the morning by filling Ekland’s room with flowers and leaving her a quirky note.
She adds, "I woke up the next morning in my own bed fully clothed with everything on but the whole room was covered in flowers. Everywhere. And I thought ‘Oh my God, my fans, they love me. They sent me flowers.’ And I’m looking for a card and I found a card and it said, ‘Hope you slept well, (from Sellers’ Pink Panther character) Inspector Clouseau.’"

HARRY POTTER star EVANNA LYNCH has credited writer J.K. ROWLING with helping her overcome anorexia by sending her letters of encouragement.
The Irish actress struggled with the eating disorder for two years from the age of 11 and and wrote to Rowling to thank her for the wizard books, which gave her "hope".
The writer sent letters of advice back - and she even encouraged Lynch to overcome her eating issues to land the role of Luna Lovegood in the movie franchise.
Lynch tells Britain’s The Sun, "I told her the books gave me hope, particularly Luna Lovegood. I told how I looked up to her. She wrote back and was like a counsellor.
"She told me anorexia is destructive, not creative, and the brave thing was not to succumb to it. I told her I’d love to be in the films and she encouraged that but said I’d need to be well to do so. In the end I think that’s why I recovered."
