BARRINO ABORTED LOVER’S CHILD BEFORE SUICIDE ATTEMPT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:24 pm

Troubled singer FANTASIA BARRINO has stunned fans by confessing she aborted her married lover’s baby before attempting suicide in August (10).
The former American Idol winner survived a drug overdose and shocked fans by revealing the scare wasn’t an accident - she meant to take her own life.
And now, the R&B star has revealed she aborted boyfriend Antwaun Cook’s baby in the weeks leading up to her suicide.
Barrino was in court in North Carolina on Monday (22Nov10) facing charges from Cook’s wife Paula that she was responsible for the breakdown of her marriage.
The singer testified that not only did she know Cook was married when she started dating him, but that she aborted their child.
Barrino had previously denied knowledge of Cook’s marital status.
Paula Cook is suing both her estranged husband and his lover, alleging the pair engaged in a year-long affair, which ended her marriage. Cook is reportedly considering suing Barrino by the Alienation of Affection law, which is only recognised in North Carolina and six other states. The law allows for an abandoned spouse to sue the party responsible for the failed marriage.

COOK’S TOURBUS SCARE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:22 pm

DANE COOK suffered a roadside scare on his recent comedy tour when a blown tyre sent his tourbus swerving across a busy U.S. highway.
The funnyman woke up in a panic when he heard an explosion from underneath his bus during a trek across North Dakota.
The driver and passengers escaped unscathed, but Cook admits he was so shaken when the vehicle stopped he evacuated wearing only a sock and his underwear.
Appearing on U.S. programme The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, he explained, "(It was) 3:30 in the morning, we’re all asleep - tyre explodes.
"When a tyre explodes you don’t wake up and go, ‘A tyre just exploded!’ You think a bomb has gone off… so a couple of things happen. First thing, you sit up and the driver’s trying to compensate and he’s swerving on the highway and you’re flying back and forth on the bed… The bus then fills with smoke." Showing a picture of himself posing shirtless with three pals outside the bus, he laughed, "We were freaking out."

THORNTON STRUGGLING FOR GOOD ROLES POST RECESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

The recession hit BILLY BOB THORNTON harder than most Hollywood stars - because he was unaware the global financial crisis had hit the studios so badly.
The Slingblade star had been on the road with his band The Boxmasters for two years and hadn’t paid much attention to Tinseltown, and when he finally checked in with his agent he was stunned to discover that quality movies were no longer being offered to him.
He explains, "I get back… and I find out there aren’t that many movies being made because there’s a recession… I really didn’t know that it was that serious… My kids are, like, chewing on tuna can lids. I’m like, ‘Whoa, I’ve gotta do something!’ "They sent me over the scripts that are available and they’re just horrible… I realise that in two short years movies have gone from movies about people and real situations to nothing but fantasy movies and teenage vampires and 3D… like the lead character is an eagle! "Two years ago I was, like, this movie star guy… but now the offer I get is the sixth lead who is the janitor at some place who works for the eagle."

HORROR ICON INGRID PITT DEAD AT 73

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

Iconic horror movie star INGRID PITT has died, aged 73.
The actress, dubbed the Queen of Horror for her roles in classic Hammer films throughout the 1970s, collapsed in London last week (end21Nov10) on her way to a fan event. She passed away on Tuesday morning (23Nov10).
A statement from her daughter Steffanie Pitt reads, "It was heart trouble. She had a couple of bad years, health-wise, but she had fought through. Anyone who knew my mother would say she was incredibly feisty and determined to make a good fist of everything she wanted to do." Throughout her career Pitt played numerous onscreen seductresses in films including The Vampire Lovers, Countess Dracula, and she also appeared in 1973 classic The Wicker Man alongside Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee.
The Wicker Man director, Robin Hardy, has been among the first to pay tribute to the actress, stating, "She was a very attractive person in every sense. She was a perfectly good actress but a very decent person as well." Born Ingoushka Petrov in Poland, Pitt spent three years of her childhood in a Nazi concentration camp before making her name on the East Berlin stage in Germany before becoming a film star in Spain in the mid-1960s.
Her big screen break came in 1968 when she was cast as an undercover agent opposite Clint Eastwood in war movie Where Eagles Dare.
Two years later, she made her first Hammer Horror as vampire Mircalla in The Vampire Lovers (1970). She played a bloodsucker again a year later (71) in horror classics The House That Dripped Blood and Countess Dracula.
The roles helped to turn Pitt into a horror icon and she went on to become a regular at conventions, where her devoted fan club, The Pitt of Horror, would always make sure she was a fixture.
Aside from acting, Pitt has written several horror books and released her autobiography, Life’s A Scream, in 1999.

AGUILERA NERVOUS ABOUT SEEING BURLESQUE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

CHRISTINA AGUILERA had to be coerced into watching her big screen debut in BURLESQUE - because she’s so "critical" of her own performances.
The Genie In A Bottle hitmaker plays a smalltown girl struggling to make it as a dancer in the new movie, also starring Cher and Kristen Bell.
Aguilera admits she was wracked with nerves about appearing alongside such established names - and she was worried about seeing her turn in the film for the first time.
She explains, "I’m very critical of myself. I had to drag my feet to even see the screening to Burlesque. First of all, it’s my first big movie. I’m starring in it opposite Cher, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, you’ve got all these amazing players in the movie and then there’s me - a first timer.
"I opened up and gave my all to it but it’s so hard - I don’t even watch my own performances back when I am in my comfort zone on stage and on tour - once it’s out of me and done I have to let it live in the universe cos if I watch it back I will critique myself to death."

CHYNNA PHILLIPS HAS LITTLE CONTACT WITH MACKENZIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:16 pm

Singer CHYNNA PHILLIPS has "limited" contact with her half-sister MACKENZIE because she’s still struggling to accept the fact the actress’ incestuous relationship with their father has become public knowledge.
Mackenzie Phillips shocked fans when she released her book High on Arrival last year (09), revealing she had shared a decade-long sexual relationship with dad John Phillips, the founder of The Mamas & the Papas.
Chynna spoke out in support of Mackenzie when the news hit headlines, insisting she was "proud" of her sister, but the stress of dealing with the ensuing media furore was partly to blame for sending her to rehab for anxiety treatment.
She spent two weeks under doctors’ care at an undisclosed rehab centre in February (10) and admits she is still finding if hard to deal with the consequences of Mackenzie’s revelations.
So Chynna has distanced herself from her sibling until she’s fully recovered.
She tells People magazine, "We’re speaking in very limited ways at the moment. Not because I don’t love her - I love her very much. It’s just that when you are in the process of healing, sometimes he healthiest thing you can do is have space. She understands that 100 per cent and I appreciate her support."

JUDGE BLOCKS USE OF BRODY’S IMAGE FROM FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

A U.S. judge has banned the makers of Italian thriller GIALLO from using ADRIEN BRODY’s image - until the actor is paid for his role.
The Oscar winner was promised a ‘play-or-pay’ deal to star in director Dario Argento’s movie, meaning he would receive his $640,000 (£426,700) fee whether the film was made or not.
Once production started on the film, Brody claims he found out the movie was not properly funded and his fee had not been paid into a third-party holding account. He alleges that he signed a new contract and agreed to defer payment, but only if he was allowed to have "absolute right to withhold consent" of his image in the movie until he was paid.
In a lawsuit filed at a California federal court last month (Oct10), Brody claimed he never received his fee and was misled about a $2 million (£1.3 million) distribution deal, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Pianist star insists he asked producers to withhold the movie, as agreed, but to no avail.
U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer ruled in Brody’s favour on Monday (22Nov10) ordering filmmakers to halt distributing, marketing or selling the thriller in America until the fee was settled.

RUFFALO ON TERROR ADVISORY LIST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:13 pm

Actor MARK RUFFALO has been placed on a terror advisory list by U.S. officials after organising screenings for a new documentary about natural gas drilling.
The Zodiac actor arranged showings for GasLand earlier this year (10) and voiced his concerns about the affects the practice is having on America’s water supplies.
But his efforts to raise awareness and demand a stop to natural gas drilling reportedly attracted the attention of officials from Pennsylvania’s Office of Homeland Security - and he recently discovered it had landed him on a terror alert watchlist.
But Ruffalo is taking it all in his stride and has laughed off the idea he could be a threat to security in his native U.S.
He tells America’s GQ magazine, "(It’s) pretty f**kin’ funny."
