BALE BATTLED TO KEEP REAL-LIFE BOXER HAPPY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

BATMAN CHRISTIAN BALE feared he was heading for a real-life beating on the set of new boxing movie THE FIGHTER - because the brawler he was portraying in the film didn’t like certain scenes.
Tough Boston, Massachusetts boxing legends Mickey Ward and Dickie Eklund lived with the film’s star Mark Wahlberg while he and Bale were making the gritty movie with director David O’Russell - and the American Psycho star admits there were times the five of them almost came to blows.
He tells WENN, "There were a couple of times where the real Dickie had to be physically restrained from landing one (punch) right on David. We had some initial interesting times when we were rehearsing in Mark’s house, where Mark very nicely put up Mickey and Dickie and they actually lived at his house for some time.
"There were some script changes going on and Dickie wasn’t initially understanding that sometimes when you put your whole life into two hours a little bit of license has to be taken. He wanted everything to be exactly how it was portrayed and, if it wasn’t, a couple of times he was threatening to have a go. That’s a serious thing coming from a pro boxer.
"Then we’d talk and David would talk with him. I’m not sure if David ever had to stop him from coming and laying one on me. That could well have happened.
"He actually came around and seemed to really understand the process. After we showed him the movie he didn’t punch any of us and I talked to him almost daily, so I think that’s a great achievement."

HOUGH FEARS NEW FILM WILL BE TOO MUCH FOR MORMON FAMILY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

Singer/actress JULIANNE HOUGH fears her new film BURLESQUE will wreck her strict Mormon family’s Thanksgiving Day feast - because she’s wearing nothing but skimpy clothes throughout the film.
The star will be hosting a family screening of the new film on Thursday (25Nov10) and she only hopes her family can stomach it.
She tells WENN, "I’m literally wearing a bra and underwear in some scenes and I’m worried my dad might freak out. He is very Mormon.
"He’s got four girls, so, if he’s not aware of a bra, I think something is wrong. But every Thanksgiving our tradition is to see movies so they’ll be seeing Burlesque then! I’ll be like, ‘Make sure you digest that food before you go!’"

LUTFI ALLOWED TO PURSUE DEFAMATION CASE AGAINST SPEARS FAMILY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS’ mother has lost her bid to have a defamation lawsuit filed against her by the pop star’s former manager SAM LUTFI thrown out of court.
Lutfi filed suit against the Toxic hitmaker and her parents Jamie and Lynne Spears in February 2009, objecting to controversial comments made in Lynn’s 2009 memoir Through The Storm.
He alleged claims Lynne made in her book, in which she branded him a "fake" and a "predator", subjected him to public ridicule and he sued for defamation, libel, battery, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Lynne fought to have the case dismissed citing the U.S. Constitution’s freedom of speech, arguing that Lutfi’s reputation could not be tarnished any further after he was accused of aiding the singer’s downfall, which led to her public breakdown in 2008.
Her argument was rejected by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge in August 2009, and her lawyers appealed the decision in May (10).
But Lynne has lost her appeal - on Tuesday (23Nov10), officials at the Second District Court of Appeal in Los Angeles ruled Lutfi can proceed with his litigation.

PUTIN HAILS DICAPRIO AS A ‘REAL MAN’ AFTER FLIGHT SCARES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO has been hailed a "real man" by Russian Prime Minister VLADIMIR PUTIN for flying out to Europe for a tiger conservation event hours after getting caught in a mid-air plane scare on Sunday (21Nov10).
The Titanic star was en route to Moscow when an engine on the Delta aircraft shut down, forcing pilots to make an emergency landing at New York’s JFK International Airport.
The actor refused to let the scary incident derail his plans to attend the summit and promptly chartered a private jet, which got him to St. Petersburg, via a refuelling stopover in Finland, on Tuesday (23Nov10).
And his bravery and dedication to the cause has earned him high praise from Putin.
Speaking at a charity concert at the summit, the politician said, "Not everyone would be willing to take a plane again after what Mr. DiCaprio experienced, but he did. Here, in Russia, we call such a person a ‘real man’.
"If wildlife and tiger conservation is in the hands of people with such character, we are destined to succeed." The meeting of the world’s high powers is being held to discuss what can be done to save tigers from extinction in the 13 countries where the big cats currently live and breed in the wild.
On Tuesday (23Nov10), DiCaprio pledged to donate $1 million (£667,000) to the World Wildlife Fund on behalf of his environmental organisation, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
He said, "Illegal poaching of tigers for their parts and massive habitat loss due to palm oil, timber and paper production are driving this species to extinction. If we don’t take action now, one of the most iconic animals on our planet could be gone in just a few decades. By saving tigers, we can also protect some of our last remaining ancient forests and improve the lives of indigenous communities."
