MICHAEL DOUGLAS is feeling "much stronger" as he makes good progress in his battle against cancer, according to his actor father KIRK DOUGLAS.
The Oscar-winner underwent treatment for throat cancer last month (Oct10) and has been photographed in recent weeks looking pale and gaunt.
But Douglas sent out a message of hope when he was pictured looking healthy and happy in a family shot at Disney World on Wednesday (24Nov10).
And now his dad Kirk has offered further encouragement the Wall Street star is on the mend - insisting his son has returned to his "feisty" self.
He says, "Michael is very good, I spoke to him yesterday. He’s much stronger now - he’s feisty."

Rap newcomer NICKI MINAJ served up a Thanksgiving treat for fans on Thursday night (25Nov10) when she brought her superstar pals RIHANNA, DRAKE and KANYE WEST out onstage in New York.
The Your Love hitmaker headlined Hot 97 radio’s holiday concert with fellow rapper Fabolous, who entertained the packed crowd with a mix of songs old and new, including guest appearances by Lloyd Banks and Juelz Santana for the G-Unit star’s catchy Beamer, Benz or Bentley.
But it was Minaj who turned up the heat at the Hammerstein Ballroom, sparking a fan frenzy when she stepped onstage and launched into Roman’s Revenge.
Her DJ then spun the remix, prompting Busta Rhymes to announce his arrival by spitting his verse on the Minaj/Eminem collaboration.
Minaj slowed things down for I Ain’t Thru, her duet with Keyshia Cole, who flew into the Big Apple specially for the performance, and belted out her new single Right Thru Me before stunning the audience and introducing Rihanna to sing the chorus to Fly. The stars even held hands halfway through the song and a cheeky Rihanna slapped Minaj’s backside as she left the stage.
The rapper continued to give back to her devotees and was joined by Drake for Moment 4 Life, fuelling rumours of a love affair by warmly embracing and kissing her Young Money Records labelmate as the track came to an end.
But she immediately killed any tabloid gossip of a romance between her and Drake, telling the crowd, "I still got my lipstick on! I know you New York, don’t be startin’ something!" And Minaj saved her biggest surprise for last, sending fans into a screaming fit as West ran into the spotlight for their underground smash Monster. The Stronger star was repaying the favour for Minaj, who had joined West for his late night set in New York two nights earlier.
After the song, she told the audience, "See what I do for you New York? Only for my hometown!" Minaj closed the show by signing T-shirts and throwing them out into the crowd. The rapper also took to her Twitter.com blog after event to thank all of her guests, writing, "Best nite of my life! Thank u busta, keyshia, rihanna, drake, kanye, hot97, New York & New Jersey!!!! Mmmuuuuaaaahhhh!!!!!!"

WINONA RYDER can’t bring herself to watch her hit film GIRL, INTERRUPTED again - because she’s haunted by BRITTANY MURPHY’s chilling onscreen suicide in the movie.
Ryder struck up a close friendship with the Clueless star after they both appeared in the 1999 film and she was devastated when Murphy passed away from a bout of pneumonia last December (09).
The actress is adamant she now can’t face watching the emotional mental institution drama, which sees Murphy’s character hang herself.
She tells Total Film, "I can’t watch the movie now because of Brittany Murphy. She kills herself in the movie . I was very close to her before she died."

GWYNETH PALTROW’s children have developed "really strange" accents after growing up with the American actress and her English rocker husband CHRIS MARTIN.
The Shakespeare In Love star and her family are based at their home in London, but frequently fly out to New York for vacations.
But the trans-Atlantic travels have played havoc on six-year-old daughter Apple and four-year-old son Moses’ accents.
Paltrow says, "Weirdly my son is half Brooklyn and half English, he’s got a really strange accent and my daughter is completely American with me at home or in America but completely British at school. It’s bizarre.
"If she’s home with a friend over she’s completely British when she talks to her friend and then she talks to me in an American accent. I want a video of it but I don’t want to embarrass her. It’s completely hilarious."

Welsh singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH has sparked rumours her new relationship is in trouble after she was photographed crying and arguing with boyfriend JONATHAN POWELL during a night out on Wednesday (24Nov10).
The Crazy Chick hitmaker started dating the songwriter earlier this year (10) after she split from her fiance and the father of her two children, Gavin Henson.

British hip-hop trio N-DUBZ is facing legal action for allegedly cancelling two scheduled appearances on U.K. TV show GHOSTHUNTING WITH… - they’ve been slapped with a nine-page writ.
The stars reportedly signed up to appear on presenter Yvette Fielding’s spooky series, which follows celebrities visiting haunted historic venues, but twice pulled out of filming.
Bandmembers Tulisa, Dappy and Fazer are now being chased for $126,000 (£84,000) by executives at Fielding’s television company, Antix, for damages over the missed filming dates.
The damages being sought include $9,000 (£6,000) for Fielding’s services, $2,175 (£1,450) for loss of deposits paid to two venues in England, $13,815 (£9,210) for hotel costs and $750 (£500) for food allegedly not eaten, reports Britain’s The Sun.
Tulisa claims they were unable to appear on the programme because she was suffering from exhaustion and has a doctor’s note explaining her absence.
A spokesperson for the group says, "They will fight this all the way."

IRON MAIDEN guitarist ADRIAN SMITH has cancelled a gig with his side project THE PRIMAL ROCK REBELLION after the "under the radar" show became too widely publicised.
Smith has been writing and recording music with Sikth rockers Mikee W. Goodman, James Leach and Dan Foord, along with Murder One’s Dan Marshall and Vacant Stare’s James Manning for the last two years.
They were planning to make their live debut on 15 January (11) in High Wycombe, England - but Smith has now decided to axe the gig because it has become "unviable".
He has spoken out to clarify his involvement, insisting it "is not a band" and he is committed to performing with Iron Maiden.
A message posted on the Iron Maiden website reads, "Following the many news stories and speculation on metal websites around the world over the last couple of days, Adrian called and asked us to explain to you fans more fully about his involvement with The Primal Rock Rebellion, his current side project outside of Maiden…
"Adrian was keen to stress that The Primal Rock Rebellion is not a band, but a studio project with Mikee. The pair had been planning a one-off ‘under the radar’ gig at the Wycombe Bucks Student Union, along with some fellow musician friends, mainly for fun and also to try out some of the material live.
"However, due to the show being inadvertently advertised, it has since become unviable to proceed with this idea. Full refunds are available from point of purchase for anyone who bought tickets.
"Adrian would like to make it clear he has no touring plans at the moment other than those with Iron Maiden, who embark on an extensive world tour in early 2011."

British musician and visual artist PETER ‘SLEAZY’ CHRISTOPHERSON has died, aged 55.
Christopherson, who has designed iconic artwork on albums for artists including Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, passed away in his sleep at his home in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday (24Nov10).
The songwriter played in numerous bands throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including Coil and Throbbing Gristle, before moving on to visual arts.
He also notably took the first promotional photographs for the Sex Pistols and created a controversial window display for Malcolm Mclaren and designer Vivienne Westwood’s shop, SEX.
Christopherson and his Throbbing Gristle bandmate Genesis P-Orridge created psychedelic artistic group Psychic TV in the 1980s, while he was also a partner in album cover design group Hipgnosis.
He reformed Throbbing Gristle in 2004.

Irish rockers U2 and rapper JAY-Z paid tribute to 29 tragic New Zealand miners during a concert in the country on Thursday (25Nov10).
The men had been stuck underground at the Pike River mine since last Friday (19Nov10), but they are now all thought to be dead after a second explosion hit earlier this week (beg22Nov10).
U2 marked the tragedy at their gig in Auckland by scrolling the names of all 29 miners across the Mt Smart Stadium’s screens, while frontman Bono told the crowd, "People have ways of dealing with grief. In Ireland we sing." He then blasted into a rendition of hit songs I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For and One Tree Hill.
Hip-hop star Jay-Z, who was opening for U2, also honoured the men, saying, "They will always be in our hearts and they will always be forever young", before dedicating track Forever Young to the lost men.

Actress KATIE CASSIDY suffered from severe constipation while filming romantic comedy MONTE CARLO in Hungary after messing up her vegan diet by stuffing her face with cake for the shoot.
The Gossip Girl star travelled to Budapest over the summer (10) for the movie but found herself struggling to find suitable food to eat that didn’t contain animal products.
One scene in the film required her to munch on a snack and director Thomas Bezucha suggested she try eating the baked goods.
Cassidy agreed, but the simple task quickly turned into a dietary nightmare as they spent hours reshooting.
She tells U.S. late night host George Lopez, "I’m a healthy eater and before I went to Budapest I was experimenting being vegan and had been vegan for like six months, and Budapest is like, literally goulash and pulled pork. And day one on the set, the directer came up to me and was like, ‘How do you feel about cake? Can you eat cake in this scene?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, actually it would be really funny if my character was scarfing down cake in this scene.’ "So little did I realise that this actual scene took 15 hours to shoot, so I was eating cake for 15 hours straight and I ate two full cakes to myself." And Cassidy spent the following three weeks in pain as a result.
She adds, "I’m telling you, when you go from being vegan to eating cake like that, your bowels are frozen for probably three weeks!"

Actor BILLY BOB THORNTON was forced to call in an exterminator of a different kind when he bought SLASH’s old home in Los Angeles - because he feared the snake-loving rocker had left behind one of his many pet reptiles.
The Bad Santa star purchased the mansion the guitar hero nicknamed ‘The Snake Pit’ a decade ago and confesses he insisted on having the property searched for remaining lizard eggs just in case.
He says, "Slash is into reptiles. I don’t mind snakes, I grew up in Arkansas, we had snakes everywhere. But I don’t like snakes with legs, any kind of dinosaur-looking thing, like a komodo dragon. My little girl, Bella, who’s six, she’s way into lizards and dinosaurs and she thinks Slash is amazing, she’s like, ‘I don’t understand why you don’t like them.’ "We actually had a guy come in and check there were no lizard eggs, like most people have a termite guy come in, we had a guy monitor for lizard eggs!"

Actress ELIZABETH BANKS had a mid-air scare while filming new thriller MAN ON A LEDGE on the side of a building in New York when she discovered her safety harness had become loose.
The 40 Year Old Virgin star plays a New York police detective in the upcoming film and attempts to talk down a former cop-turned-conman, portrayed by Avatar actor Sam Worthington, from jumping to his death from a window ledge.
One scene sees the pair high up on the ledge of a building and Banks reveals the look of fear on her face in the movie was all real as the stunt, shot earlier this month (Nov10), went awry.
She tells U.S. talk show host Jay Leno, "We were 19 floors up and we’re on one little string that holds us to the building and at one point I’m checking my equipment because I’m totally freaking out and the guy’s like, ‘What you’re really checking for is if the screw’s loose’. And I go, ‘You mean like this?’ and it’s totally loose.
"I’m not afraid of heights, but you have no control over the adrenaline rushing through your body. And I’m pretending to be scared anyway so I got out there (acting like she was breathing heavily) and then I literally started hyperventilating and (her vision) started to go fuzzy on the sides. I was like, I’m going over! But we had harnesses… It’s intense."

Formula 1 racing boss BERNIE ECCLESTONE was rushed to hospital on Wednesday night (24Nov10) after a gang of thieves beat him and stole $300,000 (£200,000) worth of jewellery and valuables.
The sports entrepreneur was targeted by four muggers as he returned to his London home with his Brazilian girlfriend, Fabiana Flosi.
Ecclestone was reportedly punched and kicked to the ground, before the couple was ordered to hand over their watches and diamond rings, according to Britain’s The Sun.
The thieves had fled with the items by the time police arrived at the scene.
The 80-year-old billionaire was taken to hospital to be treated for a "minor" head injury, but he returned to work the next day.
A police representative says, "There can be little doubt this was a targeted robbery because of who Mr Ecclestone is. The muggers were callous and showed little regard for the victims. They need to be caught."

BRENDAN FRASER’s Broadway debut has been cut short - New York stage show ELLING is shutting down on Sunday (28Nov10).
The Mummy star hit the stage earlier this month (Nov10) alongside True Blood’s Denis O’Hare and Jennifer Coolidge in the quirky comedy about two odd recluses who share an apartment together after being institutionalised.
But a spokesperson for the play, based at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, has announced that after 22 previews and nine regular performances it will come to an end, reports the New York Times.
Taking to his Facebook.com page to announce the news, O’Hare wrote, "If you want to see Elling, ya better hurry. We are being closed down this Sunday… yup. Our producers will go no further. Happy Thanksgiving!"

Socialite PARIS HILTON refused to allow veterinarians to put down her pet Kinkajou after it went "crazy" and attacked her leg, despite fearing the raccoon-like animal had rabies.
The star was forced to seek medical treatment after the exotic animal, named Baby Luv, sunk its teeth into her flesh in 2006, but she objected to medics’ suggestions to kill the animal even though it posed a risk of spreading disease.
She tells U.S. talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, "I still have it. I have two of them at my ranch.
"It got a little crazy one night. Like ending up in the hospital crazy. It bit me! It bit my leg, and I thought it had rabies. So I said, ‘We have to figure out if it has rabies, how do we do that?’ And they said, ‘We have to cut its head open.’ I was like, ‘Well is it going to live?’ And they said, ‘No!’ So I was like, ‘Then we’re not doing that! I don’t care if it has rabies or not!’" But Hilton insists she made the right choice - because the Kinkajou was not infected and neither was she: "It didn’t have rabies, obviously, I’m here today."

GLEE star NAYA RIVERA was so obsessed with PARIS HILTON as a teen, she persuaded her dad to buy her a pricey pedigree dog in a bid to emulate the socialite.
The actress, who plays cheerleader Santana on the hit musical series, idolised The Simple Life star and envied her wardrobe, career and even her menagerie of mutts.
So Rivera convinced her father to buy her a miniature pup for her to tote around in her handbag.
Appearing in MTV show When I Was 17, Rivera recalls, "I bought a little dog like Paris… I convinced my dad to get me a Maltese. I called around, like, to a million breeders. Oddly enough, this lady that I found was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I just sold Paris Hilton a dog.’ And I was like, ‘Yahtzee! I want my dog from there.’ "The dog was, like, $1,500, so we had a payment plan for this dog. We literally made monthly payments on the dog. Her name is Cali. I took it everywhere with me. It was cool for like three months then it c**pped in my car." Hilton herself has heard about Rivera’s fascination and reached out to her on Twitter.com, writing, "Thanks Naya Rivera. What a cute story! Loves it!"
